Food was served fast and delicious. Had the Philly cheesesteak and bread pudding. Both were great. Service was friendly and tentative. They give large portions, so come hungry.

Wyatt's place is easy to stop at on the way to volcano. Prices are average for Hawaii. We had a group of eight when we visited and were seated quickly but that may have been the only thing that went quick. Took quite a while to just get the basics and we needed to ask regularly for water, forks and other basics. Food was nothing too special but tasted good. Looked awesome on the plate. Overall an easy place to stop and eat or grab a drink.

Aloha, if you're looking for a hearty sandwich, Wyatt's is your spot. I enjoyed pastrami while hubby loved his Philly cheese beef. Both yummy. Great stop from airport to Volcano. Enjoy!

No actually this place is so good. Super chill staff, everyone there recommended the pastrami fries and boy were we not disappointed. The French dip was also stuffed full it was divine. Got guava cheesecake after and the crust was super yummy. This place is absolutely worth it for some quality sandwiches

As we are visiting the Big Island, we wanted to try a place a little different and found this place. It's on the way towards Volcanos national park right on the main Hawaii Belt Road. It's a quaint little roadside eatery with nice indoor and outdoor seating. It's nice and clean. We were welcomed by the staff and had a seat. We asked what they recommend, and we decided to share a Pastrami sandwich with homemade hand cut fries. The sandwich was big, that we could share just one sandwich. The bread was super soft, and the pastrami was tender and very tasty. The fries were hot and fresh, and their homemade brown sugar ketchup was perfect. We would like to go back here again and give some of their other menu items a try. So if you are on your way to or from Volcanos National Park, or just want to have a nice hearty sandwich (which they also can make into a burrito or on fries) then give this place a try.

My variation of their Philly Cheesesteak: steak, American cheese, grilled onions, marinara sauce on the side. Very filling!

Before leaving the mainland for my annual trip to Hawaii to visit my wife's family, I searched online looking for new mom-and-pop eating places, e.g., restaurants and food trucks, that had opened since my last visit. I found Wyatt's Place and was intrigued by the number of great reviews. But, what caught my eye as someone who grew up in Philadelphia, were the reviews of their Philly Cheesesteak. I knew I had to try out their version. Per the menu, the Philly Cheesesteak includes mayo, peppers, mushrooms, provolone and American cheese on a local fresh baked garlic butter toasted roll. I ordered it with no mayo, no peppers, no mushrooms, American cheese only, and a side of marinara sauce. In other words, I converted it into a Philly Pizza Steak. It definitely did not disappoint. The steak, cheese, grilled onions, and marinara sauce made for a fantastic sandwich and I intend to return in a few days before I fly back home. My wife had a pastrami and American cheese sandwich with a side salad. My sister-in-law had what they call a "Chicken Fiesta Philly" sandwich. Similar to the cheesesteak but with chicken instead of steak. We also ordered a large order of French Fries that were perfectly seasoned with salt and pepper and deep fried in beef tallow oil (so not vegetarian, per their menu). They have house-made ketchup that was quite good. We finished off the meal with a lilikoi cheesecake which easily fed all three of us with one quarter of it coming home. It was very yummy! The hostess was very friendly as she took us to our table and gave us our menus. Joe, our waiter, was also very friendly and handled all my changes to their cheesesteak with ease. We could tell the staff enjoyed their jobs and enjoyed interacting with us and the other patrons. The interior is very clean and welcoming. Since this is Hawaii, we sat outside and enjoyed the cool tropical breeze while we ate. We met the owner as we were leaving and told him how much we really enjoyed his food. I hope Wyatt's Place becomes a "go-to" restaurant and stays in business for a very long time so I can continue to return here and enjoy their delicious food. They are located in Mountain View, not too far south from Hilo, Hawaii. Your GPS will take you right to their door. We went at 1 PM for lunch and there was no wait (my favorite way to try out a new restaurant). I highly recommend giving Wyatt's Place a try for their great food, great service, and friendly staff.

Wyatt's Place - A Hidden Gem with Great Potential Wyatt's Place is one of those spots that feels like a well-kept secret. Tucked away in what I'd call a welcoming "hole in the wall," this brand-new restaurant is already showing some real promise. It's cozy, intimate, and carries a laid-back, local charm that made me feel right at home the second I walked in. The place also felt very clean, which added to the overall comfort and experience. The staff? Outstanding. Every single person I interacted with was warm, attentive, and genuinely friendly. You can tell they're passionate about making each guest feel like family, and they nailed it. Drinks & Atmosphere: Their selection of alcohol is impressive, especially for a smaller establishment. Whether you're in the mood for a cocktail, a local beer, or something stronger, there's something for everyone. Combine that with the casual, friendly vibe and you've got a great place to unwind after a long day (or hike, in our case!). Now to the food - We ordered the steak and cheese sub, the meatball sub, and a side of fries with their homemade ketchup. Homemade Ketchup & Fries: This was an unexpected highlight. The fries reminded me of Five Guys-style fries -- thick-cut, rustic, and golden -- but dare I say, even better. Paired with their homemade ketchup, which had a beautifully balanced flavor (not too sweet, just the right tang), this combo really hit the spot, especially after a long walk on the lava rock trails. Meatball Sub: Absolutely delicious. The meatballs were flavorful, the sauce was spot-on, and the bread held up nicely. No complaints here -- just good, solid comfort food. I'd 100% order it again. Steak and Cheese Sub (Philly): This one had a lot going for it, but it could use a few adjustments. The steak itself was tasty, but the sandwich was very heavy on the cheese, to the point where it overpowered the other elements. I found myself missing the flavor of the peppers, onions, and steak because the cheese took over the spotlight. The sandwich also slid apart a bit while eating, likely due to the cheese. With a lighter hand on the cheese and maybe a touch more seasoning on the steak, this could be a standout item. Final Thoughts: Wyatt's Place is new, and you can tell the team behind it truly cares. They've already built a strong foundation with friendly service, quality ingredients, cleanliness, and a relaxed atmosphere. A few small tweaks in the kitchen, like letting the ingredients shine by easing up on the cheese or using a different cheese, could easily take their menu from good to exceptional. I'm excited to see how they continue to grow, and I'll definitely be back to support them. If you're in the area, stop by for a drink, try those fries, and enjoy the aloha spirit that Wyatt's Place offers.

Pastrami was meaty, cheesy and delicious

This was hands down the best sandwich I've ever had. I got the Philly Cheesesteak, my husband got the pastrami. We shared. The sandwiches are very filling, so if you don't have a big appetite, definitely get half. The service was spot on! I got a frozen glass for my diet coke. Swift service. Attention to detail, in everything. Beautiful location, the outside was clean, grass was trimmed. Kitchen clean, tables clean. I highly recommend, and hope they stay for good.

Great sandwiches! Their drink menu gets bigger and bigger every time we go! Service is hit or miss go if not in a hurry you never know how service will be but sandwiches always good!

Food was good both times I got French dip to go. Took a friend there to eat in and tried the chicken parmigiana, unfortunately it was over cooked and dry, was surprised and disappointed but really hungry and ate most of it. Probably won't try that CP dish again.

My boyfriend and I had finished a few small hikes at Hawaii Volcano National Park and decided to stop here for a late lunch before heading back towards the Kona side. We found that the restaurant was poorly ventilated as it was hot and the doors were just kept open, and the wait for the food was a long time. There were a few other people before us who had been waiting for their food as well, and by the time it was our turn it was already 45 minutes to 1 hour. The Loco Moco was not what I had expected, the hamburger patties were dry and there wasn't anything that stood out flavor-wise. The macaroni salad was okay, but we both agreed that L&L tasted better. We also got a spam musubi, but it did not taste as good as other musubis, there was just too much rice and the spam lacked seasoning and sauce. Overall, this was not worth the wait, they have other items on their menu that you could try, but expect to wait for a lot longer than usual just to get your food.

Holy Moly Batman... that one item was worth the drive alone! Since there really wasn't any real estate in our tummies, we split everything 3 ways... over the course of the next few hours. Two weeks later, still thinking about that ube cruffin! Would definitely do a repeat on that as well as the Medeterranean scones while trying other items. And as the nice couple infront of us in line mentioned, will have to return for the sister deli across the parking lot. Heard it was featured in Guy Hagi's food vlog.
