In addition, it also stocks a large range of tropical and cold water fish as lots of other pet supplies. My son loves to look at all the fish and its a great attraction if you have small children. During Christmas they also have loads of Christmas Decorations and lights up which the children really love. They also have invested a lot in a wonderful new food court. It serves a limited range of food for such a large area and its reasonable quality if not a bit pricey - the made to order pizzas are great. There are plenty of tables and it feels spacious plus it has a number of different baby chairs and the baby changing facilities are OK but not great. One strange error they seem to have made is the size of the adult trays - they are so small you cannot fit two plates on them and two cups and saucers without piling them on top of each other - which defeats the point of having a tray in a lot of cases. I pointed this out to a couple of the staff and they laughingly agree with me but nothing gets changed. What really lets this place down though is the staff. The general staff are pleasant enough but dont go out of their way to help you - they will point you in the general direction of something but wont actually show you. Or if you ask about a product they wont offer an alternative if they know the one you want isn't available. The catering staff are worse though. They are incredibly slow and surly. I have been overcharged a couple of times and when you point this out you dont get any apology, just a blank stare. It's really sad when a business invests so much in the bricks and mortar and the staff let them down so badly.

I have never got poor service, it is by nature a Self Service Place that if you need help ,then there is a desk just inside the entry door where you can request someone to assist you before hand!!

I'm not a keen gardener but they appear to have lots of nice house and bedding plants. As a local resident, I mainly go to Flowerland for the coffee shop. The ladies who work there are lovely and the food is really nice. There are inside and outside seating areas and you will always find a space to sit, even with a pram.

Plants are always of excellent quality (which sometime you pay for), and are arranged in an way that is intuitive to navigate by type or planting aspect as appropriate. The staff are knowledgeable, accommodating and have always been a pleasure to interact with in my experience, that of my family and our small dog who has received the most enthusiastic welcome. I was looking for a good garden shop that offered real variety (unlike the chain stores which seem to offer not much and a lot of it), and learned about Neal's. I'm so glad I did. While it is awkwardly located just across from a prison, the place is just great. Pots galore; a beautiful selection of bedding plants and other outdoor selections; and a great indoor shop featuring a greenhouse of houseplants, a wealth of garden tools, indoor pots and planters, and gifts for gardeners. While I've come to expect independent shops to be a touch more expensive than the chain stores (and am ok with this as I like supporting the little guy), I was pleasantly surprised at the super reasonable pricing at Neal's! I ended up bringing home more and larger plants than I would have anywhere else as they were so well priced. I kept going on about this to my husband, who very kindly didn't say too much as I added plant after plant to our basket! Definitely a place I'll be visiting on a semi-regular basis!

I received a lot of helpful tips from the staff regarding care for my orchids. They pointed the stuff I was doing wrong and gave me tips how to care properly for my plants. Apart from the plants, you'll find hundreds of related items on offer, such as plant feed, planting and decorative pots, water features, garden furniture, outdoor heating, lawnmowers, even garden jacuzzis. I also like browsing through a huge selection of home accessories, stuff like cushions, rugs, lamps, small pieces of furniture, kitchen accessories, glassware, candles, etc. At the front of the shop you'll find lovely gourmet food items, packaged in decorative tins and jars. We spoke to the manager who advised us that they would do anything without a receipt. The plant was perfect and the pot had their barcode on the bottom, but they refused an exchange. The 'computer says no attitude' was really poor...we have been customers for over 20 years, but will go to a business that values it's customers in future.

Yesterday (2 Apr 2014) 4.15 pm wanted a coffee at counter, no one wanted to come and do it (only 2 staff visible anyway) she eventually came and asked what we wanted. I then went to pay at till, a rather large woman, long black floor length skirt, bleached hair carried on putting out items around the tills, completely ignoring me, when she did serve me she never even looked at me throughout the whole transaction, the only good thing was that she said please and thankyou. They stopped making sandwiches to order, we and others regulars miss these. The staff have always looked like they hate being there and resent customers for having the affront to want serving either cakes and food! We won't bother going there anymore, only for gardening stuff of which there is an endless choice. They certainly need some customer service skills teaching them, we are not something you tread in when you take your dog out!
