They just assumed they knew what was wrong and wrote off his pain. He assured them he knows his body and he knows its something more serious but the blonde also insisted its her job and she does this everyday. Tried to over explain different new strains have been "causing major abdominal pain." Just diagnosed him with out having any test back whats so ever. And was awfully snobby about it. Then test start rolling back in and shes no where to be seen but the males attitude shifted and he seemed more attentive and warned us some stuff looked a little off. Anyways in the end we ended up being moved facilities to have his APPENDIX REMOVED. Any one whos had the procedure and issues knows the pain. It was very unprofessional and unpleasant. We've never felt more uncomfortable in a doctors vicinity for simply being honest. The check-in staff are nice enough, but once you are waiting to be seen, there seems to be very little interest in hearing the patient's history or listening when you try to explain why the situation is concerning. My husband does not always present like a typical cardiac patient, which makes his history especially important. On previous visits here, he has ultimately been admitted and required serious cardiac intervention, including emergency procedures and valve surgery. Once we actually get back to the ER doctors, our experience has been very different. The physicians have provided good, quality care. My concern is getting to that point. If this weren't the closest hospital to our home, especially during a possible cardiac event, I'm not sure we would continue coming here. There is a large sign warning patients that aggressive behavior toward staff will not be tolerated. I completely understand and support protecting hospital employees. At the same time, after sitting here again and watching how frustrated people become when they feel unheard, I think compassion and communication need to go both ways. We are currently here again, sitting in a mostly empty waiting room, so I will update this review as our visit progresses.

And the documentation I got afterward read like someone was filing a mildly annoying IT support ticket: "CPR was initiated and ROSC was achieved." Cool. Thanks for the thrilling novel. I guess coming back from the dead just doesn't get the drama it used to. To whoever performed the CPR: I don't know if you were trying not to scuff your scrubs, but I'm wheeled out of there saying, "Whoever did the compressions didn't even crack the intercostals." That's not CPR. That's jazz hands on a corpse. The cause? I underwent a bronchoscopy while in full-blown undiagnosed adrenal crisis. Stress steroids? Nope! I was sedated and scoped like a Thanksgiving turkey. Ten minutes later? Flatline. And here's where it gets good: No neurology follow-up. None. I came back shaking like a paint mixer at a coffee convention, couldn't remember my own birthday, and the chart reads like, "Patient hemodynamically stable at the time of visit." Yeah, I was also dead during the same visit, but sure, let's call it "stable." Apparently, short-term memory loss and hands doing the Harlem Shake don't rise to the level of a neurology consult. Maybe they thought I was auditioning for "So You Think You Can Seizure." Echo? Pending. Follow-up? Also pending. Pulse? Pending Neuro? Missing in action, just like half my memories. This wasn't medicine. It was a Lazarus act with paperwork written by someone who missed the show. So what did I get for dying and being dragged back into the land of the living? No apology. No proper diagnosis. Not even a box of cigars. I had to fight to even get someone to believe I coded. I left that hospital sicker than when I entered, and I've spent months since recovering from what happened. If you're looking for a hospital that listens, diagnoses, or performs basic CPR with enough force to actually restart a heart? Look elsewhere. If you want someone to downplay a cardiac arrest like it was a mild WiFi outage, this is your spot. Came back to consciousness hoping for a cigar and a "welcome back" steak. Got dry mouth, hospital lighting, and someone saying, "You're lucky to be alive." Really? Then show it. Where's my plaque? My parade? My free pudding cup? Pro tip: if you die here, do it with low expectations. And maybe request a neurologist on standby, because apparently, coming back shaking and confused still isn't enough to get one. My first real experience with Medical City McKinney was several years ago, when I spent weeks there with my elderly father. He went from the ER to PCU, then home with hospice, and passed away from heart failure. It was a complicated situation, but looking back, I'm deeply grateful for the compassionate care he received at Medical City McKinney. I met the CEO in the elevator who actually cared and personally escalated my case (he didn't have to do that). Four years later, returned for surgery. The experience was smooth from start to finish, from pre-op, to post-op, to getting discharged and heading out the door, every single patient care person I met was kind, professional, and genuinely seemed to enjoy what they do. Bonus! Honestly, I'm not sure what to think about the negative reviews. Definitely take into account each experience is based on specific situations, and whether you are a patient, caretaker or visitor. I recommend you make a decision based on your specific situation. I went to the ER at Medical City Mckinney Texas on 121 in Mckinney on 6/22/26 around 5:30 pm…read more Presented with high blood pressure, light headed, and shortness of breath. Walked into the facility with my neighbor, who had brought me in. They took me back fairly quick (about 10 minutes) Nurse hooked me up to take my BP and O2 stats. BP was very high (224/110ish) O2 levels up and down between 82-93. Daughter had arrived about 10-15 minutes later and came back to the ER room. Nurse 1 comes back with EKG machine and declares the machine does not work and needs to get another machine. 45 minutes (could have been longer) another machine was tried for an EKG by same nurse and declared that machine did not work either. Rolls that one out. The nurse tried to draw blood and was unsuccessful. Another nurse comes back in to try to draw blood and after the four attempts and multiple bruises was finally successful. (approximate wait was another 30-60 minutes). Only blood was drawn at this time. I now have 5 puncture marks where they were digging for a vein and bruising was already seen. Blood was drawn from the tube that was put in the arm to administer medication and future blood draws. A new Ekg machine wheeled in by a new tech. He runs the EKG and there is no paper in the machine. He does not know how to load the machine and has to ask for assistance. At this point I am very stressed with all the malfunctioning equipment and lack of experienced staff. PA comes in the room after about an hour to 2 hours later (no meds administered for BP yet) PA asks me questions but offers nothing medically (my expectations for the PA were that I would know what was causing the spike in BP or at least be given medication to bring down the BP but that did not happen.) PA leaves O2 stats are still fluctuating. I asked for a manual BP check because I have numerous issues with the automated BP machines in the past. I was told by Nurse 1 that she did not know where a manual cuff was. Respiratory therapy was administered around 8 or 9 (not totally clear on the time) Administered a breathing treatment. Nurse 1 comes in and I again asked for a manual BP check. She said she was really busy (I must add that I witnessed, as did my daughter, Nurse 1 and the PA having a race with the wheel chair in the hallway, they were playing around and laughing prior to me asking for a cuff. Thoughts were they had time for THAT but not time for the patient. ER's are very stressful for patients and staff. I am all about laughing and relief from the stress but as a patient being ignored, the optics were not great. Sat in the ER about another 3 hours before anyone even checked on me. I had gotten up about 3-5 times to use the restroom during that time. No BP meds administered yet. It is midnight and finally a physician comes in and says "I see the BP medication is not working" to which my daughter and I both announce 'NONE were administered". She says we are going to have to admit you because I cannot let you leave with your BP this high. No beds were available. It's midnight and it is obvious that no one in a bed was going to check out at that time so I waited. Meanwhile I asked again for a manual BP check. Physician leaves, my daughter goes to my house to pack a bag. And about 15 minutes after the physician leaves they bring in BP meds. Let's be clear I was admitted at 6:00pm and no meds until midnight. A paramedic came in to take a manual BP but struggled with the cuff. He had to get another one stating the other one did not work. He fumbled with it and kept trying to see if he could read it, looked up at the monitor and stated it's the same as what is up there. I am no expert, but it appeared he did not know how to manually take my pressure. I truly cannot prove that but given everything that had happened up to that point, coupled with all the malfunctioning equipment, my confidence was waning. Meds were not administered for my BP until after midnight. Not enough room to continue the story but I will end with I Left against Medical advice after a number of other things happened. Checked into Medical Center Dallas Heart and Vascular and received EXCELLENT care. Within 10 minutes there I had EKG, Blood work with only one try, Chest x-ray, and medication to lower my BP AND the doctor had come in!! That is how it should be. Medical City Mckinney should be shut down. Notifying, CEO MC Mckinney and Dallas AND Medicare AND Robert Kennedy. Unacceptable.

When I have gotten sick while being in Dallas, I always prefer to drive here then to go to any hospital in Downtown. The nurses, doctors, & medical billers are so efficient & very understanding in whatever it is you are going through. They go out of their way to make you feel comfortable when you are in pain. They don't just treat you as another patient. They are seriously so good with their patient care. Trust me, the drive is worth it. They know what they're doing. & nowadays, you don't get that type of care anywhere.
