I drove over at 5:30am to get help with an upper respiratory infection. It was so nice to enter the warm lobby decorated with holiday tinsel! [[HIGHLIGHT]]I was greeted by Tonya who entered my information quickly and as I waited in a very nice lobby with couches, the nurse, Jeff called me back.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]He was very kind and took me to a room and the other female nurse was also nice and took my blood pressure.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The room was clean with a tv. I was offered a warm blanket after getting a chest xray. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The Dr had a wonderful bedside manner and advised me on my condition![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] It went very quickly and left feeling encouraged and had the write prescriptions and information to get better. There were complimentary snacks and drinks in a small fridge at the exit! Everything went so smoothly and when you're sick, this is so important. I'm eternally grateful to everyone and I highly recommend this ER. Knowledgeable staff and genuine desire to heal and help others.

The nurses/techs were very nice, and the doctor took me seriously and listened to everything I had to say. Sometimes I have had to wait 15-30 minutes or more because their beds were full, or because they had someone who was sicker than me they needed to see first, or if an ambulance came in, which is totally understandable. This is an emergency room, so whoever is having the most serious situation takes precedence. I would recommend this standalone ER for anyone who is having a medical situation that can't wait to see their family doctor or go to an urgent care (like if you broke a bone or something). But I will say that if you think you are having a stroke or heart problem you would want to try and go to a real hospital, because if you check in here for that sort of thing, they will stabilize you and all, but then immediately call an ambulance to transport you to an actual hospital with a cath lab like Lakepointe. I know because that happened to my friend's mom, and she got taken care of and is fine now, but she did get a bill for the ambulance ride, when if she had just gone to the regular hospital ER instead, she wouldn't have had to be transported. But if it's a life or death situation, then you can definitely go here because, I mean, it is an emergency room after all and they'll make sure you stay alive. Anyway, definitely recommend this standalone ER.

It is bringing up a lot of emotion to even write this because of the way I was treated. I came in, nearly being carried by my husband because I could barely walk. When I got to the room, I was bawling, shuddering with tremors, and could barely get a word out, let alone explain what was going on. Instead of listening to my husband, he decides to force me to speak and gets irritated when I can't get much out. The nurse asks me what typically works for me in situations like these because I also suffer from multiple chronic and painful illnesses, so I answered that it just depends. Sometimes a medication will work for certain pain, sometimes it won't, and I didn't know how else to answer. So they ask about Norco. I said no, because I'm already taking that daily for those chronic illnesses, so it's not likely to be effective. The doctor ignores that, gives me 1 Norco, which was no different from what I had already tried before going in. I told him after 20 minutes that nothing changed and he sent in the nurse, who then told me he would give me something for anxiety and to relax. Bitch, I was NOT having anxiety. I was crying from excessive pain and I hope you experience every single BIT of pain I do every single day. You know exactly who you are, Mr. Football is More Important Than the Patients I am PAID to give a shit about. So, we obviously left 'against medical advice' when he refused to even speak to my husband, and he had to practically carry me out in tears again to go start the process OVER again elsewhere, where I got immaculate care. SO, anyone thinking of going here, save your time and money and drive out to Greenville's ER if you have insurance. Trust and believe these people do not care one iota about you. You should absolutely fire the useless doctor you've got up there. Seems like maybe the little tyke would have preferred to be in the NFL. He should have availability to watch it 24/7 because he's the worst doctor I've ever been to, which is saying a whole hell of a lot with my medical history. I will never come here again and I actively tell everyone I can to avoid it at all costs. I hope you get shut down. You deserve it, especially after reading these other reviews. Genuinely, seek a different career. You suck at this one. Thanks!

**Complaint Regarding Dr. Krupa Patel and Methodist Richardson Renner Gastroenterology**…read more My name is Chelsea Edwards, and I am submitting this complaint regarding my treatment and subsequent dismissal as a patient by Dr. Krupa Patel at Methodist Richardson Renner Gastroenterology. I have been a highly complex gastrointestinal patient under the care of this practice since approximately September 2024. My medical history includes significant gastrointestinal disease and multiple major abdominal surgeries, making continuity of care especially important. Due to the complexity of my medical condition, I have relied heavily on specialty gastroenterology care for ongoing management and treatment. Approximately six to eight months ago, I had a difficult encounter with a nurse practitioner within the practice. During that interaction, there was a disagreement, and I expressed my intention to file a complaint with the Board of Nursing regarding my concerns about that encounter. Following discussions with upper-level management within the practice, a decision was made that I would no longer see that specific nurse practitioner. However, I was specifically informed that I could remain a patient of Dr. Krupa Patel and continue receiving care through the practice. Following that incident, I had no further conflicts, confrontations, or negative interactions with Dr. Patel. In fact, I did not see or speak with Dr. Patel after that event. There were no discussions regarding concerns about my behavior, no warnings, no requests for a behavioral agreement, and no indication that my relationship with Dr. Patel was in jeopardy. In recent months, my health began to decline. I developed worsening esophageal symptoms and believed I required an esophageal dilation, a procedure I have needed in the past. As my symptoms worsened, I repeatedly contacted the office seeking assistance. Numerous telephone calls were made to the practice, and multiple portal messages were sent. These communications should be documented within the medical record and communication system. During this time, I repeatedly sought help but felt I was given inconsistent information and delayed responses. Despite my efforts, I was unable to obtain timely intervention for my worsening condition. What is most troubling to me is that I never personally spoke with Dr. Patel regarding my concerns. I was never given an opportunity to discuss my symptoms directly with her, nor was I informed that my status as a patient was under review. Instead, while actively seeking medical care for a worsening illness, I was abruptly informed that I had been discharged from the practice. If the physician truly believed that the therapeutic relationship had become irreparably damaged months earlier, I question why that determination was not made at that time. The practice had every opportunity to formally discharge me following the earlier disagreement involving the nurse practitioner. Instead, management specifically chose to keep me under Dr. Patel's care. It was only after I became ill and began requesting evaluation and treatment that I was suddenly dismissed from the practice. I am also confused by the language contained within the discharge notice. The letter reportedly stated that Dr. Patel would continue to provide emergency care for a period of 30 days. If my conduct was truly so problematic that dismissal was necessary, then it seems contradictory that the physician would still agree to provide emergency medical services during that transition period. This raises legitimate questions regarding the actual basis for the dismissal. Equally concerning is that I never received proper notice of the discharge in a timely manner. I was actively attempting to obtain medical care while unaware that the practice had terminated the physician-patient relationship. As a result, I was left without access to the specialist who had been managing my complex gastrointestinal conditions and was forced to seek alternative care during a period of medical instability. I fully understand that physicians generally have the legal right to terminate a physician-patient relationship when done appropriately and in accordance with professional standards. However, my concern is not merely that I was discharged. My concern is the timing, circumstances, and manner in which it occurred. As a medically complex patient experiencing active symptoms, I felt abandoned during a period when I was seeking necessary medical treatment. To this day, I cannot identify any interaction between Dr. Patel and myself that would justify such an abrupt decision. We had no personal conflict, no hostile encounters, and no discussions suggesting that she no longer wished to serve as my physician. Because of this, I am left with the impression that the decision may have been influenced by information or opinions unrelated to my direct interactions with Dr. Patel rather than based upon her own experiences with me as a patie

If you haven't spent much time with doctors, or had surgery yourself or long stays at a hospital (as a patient or visiting someone), it can be overwhelming. My first real experience with Medical City McKinney was several years ago, when I spent weeks there with my elderly father. He went from the ER to PCU, then home with hospice, and passed away from heart failure. It was a complicated situation, but looking back, I'm deeply grateful for the compassionate care he received at Medical City McKinney. I met the CEO in the elevator who actually cared and personally escalated my case (he didn't have to do that). Four years later, returned for surgery. The experience was smooth from start to finish, from pre-op, to post-op, to getting discharged and heading out the door, every single patient care person I met was kind, professional, and genuinely seemed to enjoy what they do. Bonus! Honestly, I'm not sure what to think about the negative reviews. Definitely take into account each experience is based on specific situations, and whether you are a patient, caretaker or visitor. I recommend you make a decision based on your specific situation. Good Luck.
