It's taking me a while to finally review for Wyoming Ale works. Mainly because I had such varied experiences the first couple years that I went there. They've also changed their menu quite a few times since inception. First off it's a beautiful restaurant with a nice large parking lot and you'll be seated by a hostess on either the dining room side or the large bar/dining area on the other half of the restaurant. There's many large comfortable booths to sit in unless you want a table which there's plenty of too. Also high top tables for 4/6/8 available on the bar side or you can just sit at the very large bar that's three sided with 60 seats. The bar side is full of TVs. And generally has music videos as well as sports on. After getting seated by your hostess, expect you will get a great experience from your server as they take pride in training their staff very well here and I've never had a bad experience with a server in probably 20/25 visits here. The menu is a little all over the place now there are some interesting and tasty appetizers. The cheese logs and the fried green tomatoes seem to be most people's favorite appetizers. The chicken wings are pretty good though there are limited flavors available. They do an amazing happy hour menu with great appetizer deals as well as good drink deals if you have the opportunity to stop in during this time of day. I think where they shine is with their burgers. I've had some very delicious burgers there. I've also had good Italian type food with their rigatoni , manicotti and their Stromboli's. Their pizza used to be really excellent. And now it's a little hit and miss depending on which type you get. They have their own woodfired pizza Grill, which has the potential to make amazing crust. However, they tend to get ratios of cheese and meats a little off sometimes. The bison chili and the duck gumbo are both pretty good. It's not traditional Cajun gumbo but it's still a pretty delicious soup. I've had a few bad soups here, including the beer cheese and some of the other cheese soups, which were not completely cooked down and were gritty with flour base still noticeable. The fried fish is also a stand out dish that they do. And a lot of people really like their steaks and steak salad. Overall, this is a great place to bring your family or a large group of friends or even a elegant birthday party. You know you'll get taken really good care of and other than it's more on the expensive side you know exactly what you're gonna get every time highly recommended and if you're getting a cocktail, I recommend the huckleberry Mojito. Phil from Best Western suggested we go to Wyoming Ale House where he proposed to his wife. He told us the food was fantastic and he often takes his wife there for date night. The restaurant is a sports bar, loud and noisy and not a place we would recommend . We were greeted by our waitress, we ordered drinks and they took forever to arrive. I ordered a bourbon 7 in a tall glass and drink was weak. My husband ordered a flight of beers which he did not like any of them. We then ordered our meal, which was Walleye. We received our walleye that was overly fried and curled up and there was nothing else on the plate. The walleye was so tough we couldn't cut it with a knife. We also ordered dinner salads, that came after the meal after we asked the waitress what happened to our salads. We also re realized there were sides that were to accompany the walleye which the waitress neglected to tell us. When the waitress came by to pickup our dishes she didn't ask if we liked the meal, I left 3/4's of my fish on the lonely plate... I do not recommend this restaurant, everything was mediocre to awful! read more

The service was very slow, but she eventually brought everything. The outdoor tables were rotten, rusty, falling apart, and not inviting at all. Such a simple fix. We got the brisket tacos that were ridiculously salty. It tasted like the lid fell off the salt. Really no taste to the brisket, Just salt. Super disappointing. We visit Wyoming Ale frequently, but this was super disappointing. The only reason I'm writing a review is hopefully that someone can talk to the Chef and fix the problem. We just moved to Casper and decided to try this place out and it did not disappoint! Our service was great and the food was good. We got the mozzarella logs to start and they were really yummy. I got the philly cheesesteak with the buffalo ranch tater casserole and those tater tots were perfect, not really spicy tho so if you like super spicy, maybe ask for extra buffalo sauce. My husband said the bison meatloaf was really good and my dad liked his pizza. My dad got the peach and blackberry cobbler for dessert and he really liked it. Wow! Wyoming Ale Works was recommended by our hotel. We decided to give it a try since it was so close. From the moment we stepped inside the doors the service was amazing. We were greeted and seated immediately. Our waitress was exceptionally at explaining the menu and making recommendations. The food was amazing. We live in Denver, came to Casper for a concert, and a friend recommended this place. Great choice! The review includes two separate visits during the week. Appetizers: Wings (Happy Hour price for $8.00 for 6). Yes, it's about $1.33 per Wing, but they are meaty (see my photo). The sauces are flavorful and embedded into the Wings (unlike Wings that taste like they have a coating). Pricey, but RECOMMENDED! Crab-stuffed Jalapeños ($10.99). Normally, this combination would not work, but the slight spicy touch of the Jalapeños works with the bland crab meat. Great combination! Soup: Duck Gumbo ($7.99 for a bowl). Duck sausage with chicken and shrimp. First time we've ever tried this combo--and we weren't disappointed. Still, we prefer a more fatty duck in meals, so the sausage removes the fat. Very Good! Entrees: We had to try their Wood Fired Pizzas! - Pizza-Prosciutto & Arugula ($12.99 for an 8" pie). I'm not into these "healthy pizzas", but my Wife ordered it. I took a bite, and I must admit: The pizza tasted fresh and healthy! Great choice! - Pizza-Spicy Italian ($12.99 for an 8" pie). Salami, pepperoni, etc. Another great choice! Wood-fired pizza is not common on the USA, and Wyoming Ale Works nailed it! Entree: Bison Meatloaf ($21.99). I LOVE Bison, but it's a very lean meat. I had to try it in their meatloaf, and yes, it was very lean and a little dry. I don't blame the Chefs. It's a bold effort, but Bison needs a special sauce. Still, the meatloaf was like a very meaty Hamburger. I enjoyed it! Dessert (no photo) Key Lime Pie ($7.99). I lived in Florida and love Key Lime Pie, so I like to try restaurants' interpretations. Losing a star because the service works snail paced Deviled Eggs were really good. Creamy eggs with crunchy bacon a hint of mustard and a great appetizer. Duck Gumbo - with the dinner but I think I missed the duck sausage. Good flavor and plenty of veggies and rice but did not see what I'd expect to see as a sausage. Bummer Had the overpriced Ribeye Steak. I had high hopes for a $40 steak but was left wondering if this steak was really aged or just a tough piece of meat. 28 days aged and it should be fork tender with plenty of marbling to aid its tenderness. What I got was a flat iron grilled steak that lacked flavor, lacked seasoning, lacked tenderness. This cut more like a KCStrip. Sorry Ale House. Beer Selection galore so choose as you will. I came from out of state to visit some of the beautiful places Wyoming has to offer. The outside of this restaurant has really nice upkeep and it looked like a bit more upscale casual dining place. Since the weather was so perfect, we decided to eat outside on the patio. I love all the plants and bushes that hid the road noise but still allowed a view of the mountains. I liked the variety of seating outside. You can take your pick to what is most comfortable for your party. Since it was our first time our waiter Dylan guided us on some of the best happy hour appetizers, best beers, mixed drinks, favorite dishes, pizzas, salads, and burgers. He really gave some great options for us to try. He was a great waiter and really went above and beyond to take care of us. We started with the chips and queso with chorizo. I love the fresh jalapeños and pico on top also. It added a freshness to the heavy queso but it was so good. It's a good size serving for happy hour also. We tried the fried green tomatoes. They were good. We enjoyed the sauce also that came with the tomatoes. My friend decided to have a Mexican beer but I went with one of Dylan's suggestions. The Founders Rubaeus Raspberry Ale was amazing. Great pick! We ordered the pimento cheeseburger and the WYO melt. We are all still raving about having one of the best burgers we have had in a long time. The meat was delicious and juicy. The toppings on both were phenomenal. Get a burger! You will not be disappointed. Wow! I may have to go back before my trip ends just to get another burger and get Dylan to suggest another ale for me. Oh yea...do NOT sleep on the sweet potato fries. The fries are good but these sweet potato fries were so great! These were the best sweet potato fries I've ever had. I don't know how but we did end up with a dessert. Hubby and I were passing through and found this place. We were not disappointed. Sat at the bar top and Brandon took great care of us. Happy hour 3-6 daily for food and drinks. We split a fresh side salad and amazing Prosciutto Shrimp. Very clean inside and out, friendly staff and plenty of TVs to watch. The food and drinks are really great. Service is always top notch! I have been here a number of times since it opened and it is always great. The cocktails are well done any of the huckleberry drinks are fabulous so do give them a try! The appetizers are pretty good. The meatballs are a family favorite. As a southern gal the fried green tomatoes used to be the best but they changed the breading and sadly they are not nearly as good. As for the main course I have a few go too meals. One is the Bar-B-Q Buffalo hamburger is my most favorite the meat is cooked to perfection never dried out always moist. The bar-b-q sauce is excellent add the bacon and cheddar cheese and you have a huge juicy masterpiece. I also really enjoy the carne asida the meat is tender and well seasoned sometimes it can be a bit fatty but not often. It comes with tortillas beans and pico. My last go too meals is the fish and chips the fish is light and flaky the breading is like a beer batter and it comes it long logs perfect to break apart and holds the malt vinegar well. But the best part is the tartar sauce it is made with dill and it adds such a nice flavor that the fish really sings on the taste buds. I have had several of the salads over the years and they are ok nothing to write home about. The atmosphere is fun and sports bar style but has space for families to eat, and watch their pizza being made in the fire ovens. Give the pizza a try but make sure to get the meatballs on it and you won't be disappointed! I have never had the dessert most because I'm too full but I have never heard a complaint about them. Well the manager saved this meal. Our waitress, fairly promptly, took our order. Pizza and street tacos. Pretty simple. Waited a while for our waters to show up. Then after over 40 minutes the manager brought us our food. I said nothing. We ate. Our waitress then took on a table of 18 people and never looked back. We were completely forgotten. I finally got up and went to the bar for some water. We completed our meal and then began the wait for our ticket. I finally, in anger, went to the bar and asked who's in charge? I told him we just wanted to pay our bill. A few minutes later the manager showed up and we explained our story to her. She was very apologetic. She comped the meal. I suggested that maybe someone should have help the poor waitress. She came to the table and had tears in her eyes and said "I'm sorry". Shame on the management for letting her drown with customers. She also had another table of 2. That's a lot for one waitress to handle. The food was good! read more

We have eaten here a number of times when overnighting in Casper. It had become a meal we looked forward to. Had a meal at Wyoming Ale last night, Sunday, with only half of restaurant full. My husband had a Philly cheesesteak and it was flavorful and tender. I ordered a steak salad (I have had this dish previously and honestly have dreamt about how good it was) with blue cheese dressing on the side. Typically comes with a side of delicious rolls. Last night we waited 45 minutes for our meal with only one sorry from waitress. When salad arrived it had a dressing I didn't order and it was on the salad. When I finally got my corrected dish the steak was cold and definitely had less lettuce. The blue cheese, typically thick and yummy was watery and just ok. No rolls and no explanation until I asked. Waitress said the last batch had been burned but would let me know when they got more. She never followed up but I asked about them as we were paying and she said the prep cook forgot to roll them out. Overall we had an inattentive and distracted waitress. On a happier note the young man that delivered our meals was polite and asked several times if we needed anything additional. We will give this restaurant a break for now and try something different next time we are in Casper. read more

We've always enjoyed coming to Wyoming Ale Works, but our most recent visit was a huge disappointment. We sat for 25 minutes without ever being acknowledged, even as staff walked past us several times. A table that arrived 15 minutes after us was greeted and served drinks while we continued to wait. After that, we finally decided to leave. We understand it was a holiday, but as frequent visitors, this left a bad taste and we won't be back for a while after this experience. read more

Unfortunately, I spent I spent my last dinner in Casper at this restaurant. From the service to the actual food, I was not only disappointed but shocked at how casual and insincere the manage reacted after I was served raw salamon post at least a 20 minute wait. The night started out great with friendly service and timeliness of our drink order and appetizers. But when my initial order of blackened walleye came out fried, everything just went down. The waitress returned the entree to the kitchen and I has normal expectations that it would be a few additional moments to prep a salmon. I was very wrong. During the wait the waitress barely let me know what was taking so long as my party ate their full entree, wiping their plates clean! When the manager brought the salmon she has the nerve to make a joke about "how hungry she wanted to see I could be" how inconsiderate could she have been?! Once I saw it was raw another 10 minutes went by before I had to call the manager back over to address that I had waited 30+ minutes, 4 now without a full dinner. Her reaction told me it wasn't the first time this had happen as she casual apologized and almost left the uneditable plate in front of me. It's a good thing I had the foresight to grab my side or else I may have never received my food. As the only woman at my table I've never been so avoided and felt like I wasn't even there. Stopped in for dinner on a road trip to North Dakota. The queso dip appetizer is really good. For dinner we ordered the meatballs and rib tips. The meatballs were a bit bland however the sauce made up for it. The beef tips were served in a good but very mushroomy soup sauce. The Broccoli cheese soup was really good. They have a great beer selection and the tasters I tried were all good. The noise level was not bad however the place was not super packed. read more

Grabbed dinner here one night with friends. Overall theme and decor are great - large waiting area if one had to wait to be seated. We were seated in a booth in the bar area. The space between the bar where people were seated and where we were was very tight. My husband ordered the prime rib with mashed potatoes. Overall - the prime rib was okay. He ordered it blackened and found that it was just to salty that way so he would cut a piece off and then place it in the a-jus sauce for a bit before eating it. I ordered the ribeye and while it was perfectly cooked to temp, I found the overall steak was very fatty. The grilled asparagus was slightly overcooked as well. read more

Food was served Cold. We were in town as a stopover heading home and found this place thru a search and decided to try it. We were seated quickly and our server came right over. Ordered our drinks and appetizer all of which were great.... Then our main dishes came out, wife had beef tips and mash potatoes and I had steak salad. The beef tips were COLD not even warm and her mash potatoes were just slightly warm. Same with my steak salad the steak was slightly warm. Wife sent hers back and the beef tips came back hot but they didn't heat the mash potatoes at all. For a dish that is listed at almost $26 to be so messed up twice is unacceptable. We got no apologies nor did a manager come by to speak to us about the situation. If we happen to travel this way again we won't be returning to this place read more

I've been wanting to try this place and it's been on my 'try' collection until now. Went in with a mood for beer, wings and a side salad. Ended up with beer, and their blackened shrimp and fried feta cheese dinner salad. If you're expecting such a gigantic salad that it will feed three people, it's not going to happen. This was the perfect size! Four perfectly cooked blackened shrimp, two very nice large medallions of fried feta, on a bed of fresh greens with dried cranberries and chopped up pistachios. It is served with a raspberry vinaigrette which I had on the side. The feta cut nicely through the sweetness of the raspberry vinaigrette. And they served REAL BUTTER with the rolls that came with it. I can eat a lot, and I was stuffed after this shallad. They have a very nice selection of beer that rotates. I always like to try the local beers so I got a couple different IPAs by Gruner Brothers which from past experience I know are very good. They are still good! I sat up at the bar and the bartender was awesome and very attentive. With a good sense of humor. I will definitely be back to try their wings next time! But next time.... I'm coming for the happy hour. It is from 3 to 6 every day with half-price drinks, six dollar martinis and specialty cocktails, and huge discounts on their appetizers! read more

We are here on a Friday evening. The place was packed. We ordered burgers, fries and onion rings. Everything was fantastic. The waitress was a little slow, and disappeared a few times, but it didn't change our impression of the food or atmosphere. The other servers got us refills and made sure we were taken care of. Food was served quick for how busy they were. The food was all well seasoned, warm and fresh. The prices were very reasonable. For $38 we had two meals and an appetizer.
