The long stretch of golden beach has a buzzing surf culture and is also ideal for recreational swimming, with patrols on watch during summer. Sometimes it's the simple things in life that bring us the most pleasure. I love to sit on a towel with a good book, amidst the backdrop of the beautiful Pacific and simply enjoy the relaxed holiday vibe. It's also worth exploring the serene Avoca Lake which lies behind the beach. There's great shopping with a variety of restaurants and boutiques to choose from. Many romantic nights have been spent on the open plan balcony of the Blue Bar and Bistro in the area.

There is the traditional Memorial Park with beautiful roses and then look around and see the views and the facilities the community is using. In the summer a part of the river is fenced off for a river pool with a well looked after sandy beach. Obviously a bit cold in the winter months but popular during the warmer days. A great fish and chip shop is right beside the park and many people visit his shop and bring the food to the park. Several boats cruise up the river. Some very expensive boats and then the little boat with the outboard motor makes an interesting view.

It's a rock, an escarpment, a cliff, heck, it's a promontory! I would cautiously guess the angle to be 46.37 degrees, give or take. This place is unlikely to be on the destinations list of your local nursing home's tour plan. When I first got here, there weren't even steps or a gardened area, just plain old grass. I don't remember how I actually got up there, but you need some sort of fitness level if you want to make it to the top (did that sound like a pap talk). Once you do get to the top (and it IS easier with those steps) you'll have an amazing 269 degrees vista over the coast and waters. I bet you can see whales pretty well during whale watching season. But can they see you...?

I don't even know where to start describing this bad boy. It's, like, a big grassy slope on a 45…read moredegree angle that just goes up and up and ends in a cliff sheer cliff and is great to run up and roll down like you're a kid again and you can see the open ocean from pretty much all the way around and there's an often-muddy football field in the basin-type catchment area in the middle and Terrigal Beach is a short downhill stumble away. ... To get here you will need to get a ferry from Brooklyn across the Hawkesbury River to the Little Wobby Beach Wharf. There's a bit of a walk through the houses to get onto the track that leads to this beach. You will see wildlife. We watched a few wallabies racing around. There were people fishing off the beach in the early morning, it's a great place to have a swim in the afternoon after a hot sweaty day of trampling around the bushes trying to find an obscure waterfall. Which we didn't find. But we did manage to get lost and run out of water! So for those wanting to bush walk in this area, make sure you take more than 3 litres of water for a 7 hour hike! It's a lovely spot though and well worth the ferry over to check out.

Once you arrive at the station, there's a shuttle (I think it said "Kroozn Kangaroo" or something of that nature on the side) that will take you straight to the kangaroos! I didn't know about this so I was lucky I saw it. It'll cost you $3 one way per person and it's only like a 5 minute drive (but a 50 minute walk!). When you want to go back to the station from the park, you'll have to call the number on the shuttle and ask him to return, or you can just hang out at the park until the shuttle inevitably comes back with more visitors. I think the shuttle stops at like 4:30 p.m. so just be aware. Regardless of what you see elsewhere, such as Yelp, TripAdvisor, or some other site, do. not. feed. them. There are signs that say not to but they're easy to miss because they're on the outskirts of the park. Apparently the kangaroos are becoming aggressive for food. Of course, there are going to be a lot of people who do it anyways, which made the shuttle driver very mad when he saw it (he also threatened to have people fined since his shuttle had a camera that recorded the incident). The park itself has nothing at all, so go to the bathroom at the station and bring food/water (for yourself). The kangaroos are surprisingly tame so you can get pretty close for some great pictures. Overall it's an awesome experience and definitely worth the trip!

The park is far away from the city, it is about 100 km of Sydney (3 hours by public transportation), however it is worth to go as you will be too closer to your buddy. The kangaroos jump freely here, you can touch and feed them (PLEASE feed the kangaroos with carrot. DO NOT feed them with bread!) The park it all isn't amazing, however the entrance is free and it is worth to see the kangaroos in their wildlife! Moreover it has a picnic area, barbecue grill and a beautiful view of Macquarie Lake. The kangaroos are cute and sweet and when they see the carrots they come to you. Sometimes they do quickly moves, but they don't cause any harm to you! Just be aware with the kids because some of them are big. There is nothing around the park, bring your own water, fruits and food! **Parking is free
