A quick bite while walking around and sightseeing. So simple yet so perfectly executed. Fresh wurst of many varieties. Served with rye and mustard. This is a perfect stop to rest for 3 (maybe 2) minutes depending hope you inhale the sausages. The only delay might be deciding to order another. They were delicious. Just go. ENJOY!!! read more

Huge lines. I lack all patience so I went at like 10. Vienna makes magic sausages as the bore out the middle of the French bread, toast it and then insert the grilled wiener. It's magic that the wiener or hot dog sauces don't spill out like the American Canadian form factor. Also delicious read more

I just didn't understand all the rave reviews of this hotdog stand. I'm not a sausage connoisseur or anything, but I have to say the quality of the food was just average, nothing to brag about. I thought the service was super unfriendly even from Austrian standards. If you happen to be in the neighborhood and are craving sausages, I don't think there's any "harm" trying this place. read more

This man has a gift. I could watch him, then way, watch, eat, rinse, repeat. He had a line all day long! Why? He's a genius. I watched him. He moved those Frank's, like a painter moves a brush. I watched him grab the grease trap, and pour a little grease on the dogs, as if to kiss them with dogs of their past! It was special. You had to find a place to eat, but that's the least of your worries. AND he took credit cards! God bless you got dog man! You are a real man's man! I don't even need to mention the beers.... plenty of options. read more

This place was so delicious! It's basically an enclosed food stand in a busy area, so there isn't seating but service is quick and the cost is fair. I was appealed to visit because they have a vegan sausage and it did not disappoint. It might be one of my favorite things I've had while traveling around Central Europe so far. Definitely check it out! read more

Had a spicy Kaesekrainer with mustard, in the bread, and drank a "radler" (beer-lemonade mix) with it, as I had walked a ton and it was getting warm. The actual sausage itself was tasty with a good snap. The bread seemed a bit stale. The radler hit the spot. For roughly eight Euros, I'll take it. It's currently in the middle of street construction there at Hoher Markt, so even less ambiance than you'd expect from a Wuerstelstand. read more

This is my favorite Würstelstand in Vienna! Perhaps because it is located right vis-à-vis of my favorite ice cream parlor. They have sausages cooked to perfection and the Käsekrainer is just an epiphany. This time I tried out their new spicy Käsekrainer Hot Dog which was very good and really spicy, but I do recommend the simple classic Käsekrainer with a Bugl (bread end-piece) over everything here. read more

Tried one spicy and one regular with mustard. The owner accepted USD and made a joke that when he had enough us currency, he takes a vacation to the US to cash it in. The brats were amazing especially after a night of bar hopping. read more

New York City has halal chicken and rice, Los Angeles has tacos, London has kebabs, and Vienna, along with many of European cities, has street brats. You've got good ones here at Wurstelstand. Star 1: How were the service and atmosphere? You place your order, the one man band stand within the stand dishes it up right there in front of you, and you're up and running in mere minutes. What more could you ask for? Star. Star 2: How were the portions relative to the cost? A decent sized brat of your choosing will run you roughly €4 whether you want it thrown inside from bread or simply sliced, which is a great price point. Star. Stars 3 and 4: How was the food? My kasekreiner with bread was good, no doubt about it, but in a region of the world that so highly regards their fresh bread, there was an opportunity to pair this with some better bread. Additionally, you had some proportion issues where there was easily two or three times the bread as there was brat, which at times made finding the flavors a bit of a challenge. As a sidebar, great mustard. Single Star. Star 5: Would you be excited to go back? For a quick fix in passing absolutely, but if you're looking for a premium brat experience maybe best to visit a sit down spot. No Star. read more

Amazing hot dogs. We got the spicy, cheese, and smoked, and loved all three, with the cheese being our favorite. The mustard is great too -- my wife barely even likes mustard, and loved it here. Unfortunately, we didn't get to try the other big hot dog stands in Vienna, so we don't have much basis for comparison, but that being said, we absolutely loved these. read more

"So good!!!" That's what my wife said after chowing down the spicy sausage for "dessert" after having a full dinner prior. The sausage had a slight crispy texture on the outside while remaining chewy and moist on the inside. This place is worth eating at even when you're already stuffed. read more

Good food, really affordable, clean, nice selection. No English menu makes it a bit challenging. Also noted that the German speaking patrons got really freshly cooked wursts- while we (obvious USA) got the ones that had been cooking all day. This is a free standing "kiosk" in the middle of Hohen Markt - ie not And actual restaurant and over seating. Still good location and would recommend. Best selection of wursts I have seen yet. read more

We went here every day. It satisfied our sausage cravings. It wasn't amazeballs, but pretty darn good - hot, crispy exterior - which is pretty much all I'm asking for when I buy a sausage. The ones at the Christmas markets were better but this one is opened at odd hours. It's like their version of the NY Chicken and Rice carts. Eat it when you're drunk. read more

Just your average sausage stall - nothing too special about it. The man serving me was nice and the place was clean. I got a bratwurst hotdog and my wife got a frankfurter hotdog and, whilst good, it wasn't fantastic. read more
