I've found where you should be, and it's Berliner Doner. Star 1: How were the service and atmosphere? There is seemingly always a line a Berliner Doner, and that was the case even on a windy and intermittently rainy Sunday evening when there were seemingly no other people in the entire city of Vienna. Fortunately, the line at Berliner moves real quick, and even ten deep you'll have your food within twenty minutes tops. Star. Star 2: How were the portions relative to the cost? I genuinely cannot get over the price points at Berliner. My standard chicken doner sandwich was, wait for it, €3,50. That's it. That's all. That's the tweet. I obviously should have gone double meat for one euro more, but in summary is the best deal in town full stop. Star. Stars 3 and 4: How was the food? And just like that it all came together. The fresh pita, the flavorful chicken, the fantastic peripherals with red and white sauces that could easily rival any high quality stand in London or New York or Los Angeles. I was so happy to stumble upon Yamm! at Naschmarkt while I was wandering the streets of Vienna. Yamm! has indoor and outdoor seating, and on a chilly day in December, I was so glad to go inside and relax. The menu was short, and changes daily. During my visit, there were a few different taco options. I opted for one with chickpeas and one with falafel. The food was good and tasted very fresh. I'm still trying to figure out what some of the sauces were. It was so good!. Plus, the atmosphere was relaxing. Don't overlook Yamm! at Naschmarkt just because the menu is minimal.
