The rating average here does not surprise me... We ALL have had a bad experience with Comcast at one time or another. They take forever to correct problems, and do little to nothing to make you happy. I think they lean on their semi-monopoly and subtly remind you that you are stuck for the most part. I was recently involved with helping a friend move. My friend's daughter called XFinity to set up uninterrupted and transfer of phone services (landline and cell), and TV. The first call that she placed took over 2 hours and she spoke with no less than 10 people. When we moved my friend in the following days, the TV did not work at the new location, nor were the phones working. She ended up having to take more time out of her already busy schedule to visit an XFinity store. The employees were not knowledgeable about what it was they were doing and inept about making sure that my friend had TV and phone service. XFinity has a commercial that states that you can transfer your services with them in 5-10 minutes. That is a complete distortion of the truth. I hope that this review helps others as they consider working with this company. read more

I was at a social media conference today and one of the sponsors was Comcast. They were "providing" the wi-fi for the day. It was the worst service - almost all of the 300+ attendees were complaining that they couldn't adequately get online. Again....at a social media conference! They kept apologizing and saying they were bringing more reuters. Eventually they just apologized and said it wasn't going to get any better. And it didn't! Stuck in Marysville with Comcast. Bad deal. Just spent 2 hours troubleshooting my email. This is the second time they've messed up on their end. Last time they fixed the problem after about 90 minutes on the phone with them. This time? No luck. They insist it's my laptop. Will they try what they did last time? No. If you're thinking about moving to Marysville, just know we don't have many options here. When we got here, Comcast charged us $86 a month for internet and basic TV. A year later, we're paying $148 for the same service. So here's to you, Comcast. You are a lousy business, and your tech folks are undertrained and very slow. I'm shopping elsewhere. read more

90% of you are going to think they paid me to write this review given their dismal reputation, but I swear this is legit. This is strictly a customer service related review. I was actually pleasantly surprised by my experience with customer service. One naturally assumes that getting on the phone with the cable company to accomplish anything is going to be a nightmare. But I was proved wrong at every turn in the three calls I had to make regarding my move and change of address. I did not sit on hold to the point where I felt like Rose Dawson recalling tiredly "It's been 84 years", in fact I didn't sit on hold at all. All three representatives were really nice, informative, and punctual with their service. I did not encounter the sassy grumpy lady in a suburban Dallas call center, or the underpaid ESL guy struggling in a far off land to comprehend my frivolous needs. There was an issue with the former tenant in my new apartment not deactivating their service, which blocked mine from coming on. Rather than getting a "you're SOL, go deal with it" response the representatives tried to resolve the issue independently before asking me to take further steps, which I really appreciated. I was expecting to be sent on a wild goose chase that ends in me knocking down the door of some stoner a few miles away who already forgot where he used to live or that he has a Comcast account with months of unpaid bills. Thank you Comcast/Xfinity for transforming my view of remotely operated customer service from that of a troll infested purgatory that reeks of bitterness and unfulfilled expectation to a quick, easy, painless, and pleasant experience. We've been to this place twice and they were unable to help us. The first time we went was to get new service but the former resident at our address had an active account and they were unable to do anything so we had to go to the Lynnwood location. We went a second time to cancel our service but once again, they don't have access to do that either. So the place has its uses, apparently, but was zero help to us! Oh well. read more

UGH! The worst company out there for everything, customer service, technical support, and living up to their service level agreements. I recently moved and wanted to transfer my service from my old residence to the new residence. The process should not be that complicated but somehow Comcast has screwed it up beyond belief. I was transferred over 8 times in one day and had to retell my issue 8 TIMES! It's been two weeks and my services have not transferred over, I was told a tech would be out 3 times to fix the line issue outside my house and 3 times the tech never showed up. I cancelled my cable TV service for the most part, but I need their internet service because they're the only cost effective option in my area otherwise I would've cancelled everything all together. Comcast is a POS company. If you're an incompetent person then you should apply and work for Comcast. It seems to be the theme in every one of their departments. read more

RUN...don't walk....from Comcast! Less than 1 stars if that was possible on Yelp. Once you get in their bundle cesspool, you are like a prisoner forever. Calling their call center for help in finding out how to lower your monthly bill is like chasing your tail! They are like Stepford Wives, trying to sell you on how the bundle you are in is SO awesome. They are trying to sell you on WHY you should stay with your current plan and REALLY do not want to do anything for you that will save you money! I called my cell company immediately after & they saved me $31.00 a month....why can't Comcast do the same? In fact, they explore the worst case scenarios for you, if you pay the fee to get OUT of the 2 year contract (which is only $75 to do) and get lower services, you REALLY don't save money. The guy I spoke to was such a salesman....after 15 minutes of arguments with him, I hung up. They make it sound like you'd be an IDIOT to switch. If you want to remove your phone (because you don't use a home phone, don't even have one in the phone jack). "I'm sorry, that will increase your bill." WTF? When I added the phone to the mix, my bill increased. Now, to remove it, it will increase? Insanity at its finest. If you ask about deals you see online, "Well, those are for NEW customers." Forget those of us who have loyally stood by Comcast for 20 years. You get EFFED over! I am now searching for a better company that isn't screwing me from every angle. I can't believe such a poor service and already a monopoly everywhere. Needless to say they feel like a 'king' and the 'customer service' word does not exist in their vocabulary. The appointment to setup was not honored, when I followup during the window, simply get an answer after long wait that 'their technician left as I was not at home'. I mean really where was he checking, I was very much waiting for him to turn up! After long conversations they quickly try to rectify the situation, set up another appt the same day in the late afternoon. No one turns up again. Choicelessly had to followup and they have no clue what may have happened. After two missed appt windows, I am totally hopeless talking to one of their associates who exhibits a carefree attitude, only to find the next appointment is possible only in a week's time, as they are booked until then. We pay for Xfinity and often times watch shows on our computers while we are away from home. Lately, the app keeps freezing, causing us to start the show over from the beginning. Also, we are no longer able to watch shows unless we are on "home wifi" why the hell would we want to watch a show on home wifi if we could just watch it on our TV AT HOME?? makes NO sense. They state it's due to "licensing". well pay the stations that are causing this licensing issue since you raise our bill EVERY YEAR without notice. you suck. I never even got my equipment installed! First tech arrived without a cable box and suggested we go to our local office and pick one up.Told us we needed to reschedule for installation. The day before the new installation appt I received a text cancelling the appt. After calling to find out why, I was told there was no info on their system and my account has been closed. Needless to say, I have a brand new dvr box to return as soon as I get a deposit refund. Shameful way to run a company. I think after speaking with numerous customer service reps about these issues, they purposely worked to undermine and frustrate me. I'd been having several months of intermittent internet issues were my service would cut out numerous times in the evening every night. I chatted with tech support numerous times - one time waiting on hold for 45 minutes. The third time the tech concluded that my connection issues were likely the result of the low tier internet package I had and that I should upgrade to a faster package to fix it. What a racket. I started getting quotes from other ISPs - the most attractive being from Earthlink. Since I've been loyal to Comcast for 10 years I wanted to give them a chance to counter. The "loyalty department" representative I spoke to was rude and condescending. He offered my a package with TV which I explained to him I had no interest in. He kept on insisting I needed it and goaded me to "get out of my cave." He also insulted Earthlink several times calling it the same speed as dial up. 6Mbps vs 56 kbps? Riiight. This was even after I told him that Earthlink had a contract to use Comcast's lines and that they were basically offering Comcast's service at a lower price. This entire experience has cost my valuable time and upset me much more than it should. I'll be leaving Comcast as soon as I have my new ISP set up. Comcast is great if everything works. As soon as you have issues though, their terrible tech support make you regret using them. It's just too bad that Earthlink will still be paying Comcast for use of it's lines. read more

This company can't figure out there own billing. Every month I have to call because they can't figure out what unlimited means. Today bill comes has a thirteen dollar added charge. Call they take it off. Bill is still 12 dollars higher then last many months. Nobody can explain why. They say they haven't raised rates but can't explain why my bill would change. We moved into our house just less than two years ago and signed up with Comcast. We had their service for close to a year and we were very dissatisfied. The internet speed was somewhat slow and our bill was just too expensive. We had sent up an automatic payment and so I didn't look at the bills too often. A few months before we "bailed" on them we realized that we were getting billed an extra $100 to $200 every month because we were going over our data limit. A data limit on our internet service?! Never heard of that one before. I'm sure that wasn't the case when we signed up. No amount of talking made us happy although they did give us a small credit. We don't need "Wizz Bang" internet but we do need something that is reliable as I do some work for our business from home. It seems like we would lose our connection on average once a month and sometimes it was hard to get it restored. When we did switch to CenturyLink our speed is now about 5 times (!) faster for less money. And to add insult to injury we were made to pay an early termination fee to Comcast! We didn't have to sign a contract with CenturyLink and we have had practically zero problems. Good bye Comcast!! read more

They never agree that there's a problem with their internet connection..it's ALWAYS a problem with your LAPTOP or MODEM(Even though its brand new) B Their technicians don't look at your modem unless from a 15 foot distance only to say its a black modem So it wont work. C The executives make baseless statements ..they got no track record of previous customer calls. But they're sure the customer hasn't contacted them in one month. D they shampoo useless protection plans on your head by giving wrong information that you can wash yourself off in one month. We had Comcast in DC without *too* many problems, but apparently Seattle Comcast has the market cornered when it comes to suckage. After we moved in and they installed our service (AFTER) - they decided to tell us that oh, somehow the cables in Capital Hill aren't laid right, so the system has some problems. "Some problems" apparently means "never works." Black screen, freezing, tiled picture, all kinds of creative ways to piss us off... AND they tried to charge us $200/month. Had to call them on the BS and switch to Dish Network - BEST decision ever. read more

4 stars for every local Seattle Comcast employee I've ever dealt with in four years of living here. Every contact I've ever had with the local staff has been a joy. They're honest (bluntly so, which I adore) and tell it like it is, giving you exactly what you need and fixing your messes. It's the national level stuff, your random call center contacts, that are hit and miss in this area. Sometimes you get a rockstar, sometimes... not so much. But all the local staff? Wonderful. The first time we had them out sums it up: We move into our new apartment, and mysteriously, Comcast on every channel is just one thing: hard core, REALLY hard core porn. As in, the audio is nothing but flesh slapping flesh for minutes on end combined with screaming. I have no idea what channel it was, and while it was fun for a few minutes, we wanted regular TV. The field lady that come out to investigate--the dispatcher thought we were kidding--took one look at it, handed me a replacement box to hold a moment while she bent over to undo the old one from Connecticut--and said: "If only I had these problems at home," and couldn't stop laughing. It was the first time I ever had fun with someone coming out to fix something. Win. Formerly, in Connecticut, the local staff that came out sporadically to our home was a mixed bag -- 0 stars, or 5. Wonderful, or surly. Not so in Seattle. The staff in the Greenwood office are also fantastic. read more

Watch-a-thon week comes once a year. Talked with 2 (two) representatives at XFINITY to complain about not being able to see movies for free. I mean, if everyone else is able to watch a week of free movies...why can't I? If I pay my bills on time, why can't I be able to watch free movies like every one else who pay Comcast outrageous prices for tv and internet. One representative offered me free HBO for the inconvenience. Waiting 2 (two hours), I called Xfinity back and told another representative that HBO was not working. Finally, Xfinity figured out the problem with my service. Apparently , I needed an upgraded box to show HBO and other premium movie channels. So, even if I decided to pay for HBO or Cinemax, I would not be able to receive those channels. XFINITY WAS not even able to locate my cable box on their end. I could not even send out a reset signal because my cable box is outdated. Anyway, I have to pay my regular fee for a cable box that is not integrated in their system anymore. I have to pay my cable bill even though I cannot get HBO. And I get cheated out of watch a thon because Comcast did not send me the right equipment to upgrade my service. However, I am paying for the cable box I have now. If I am paying for an outdated box it should be the upgraded one. My price on my cable bill keeps getting higher. So that means I am paying for an upgraded box that XFINITY failed to give me. read more

These people are extortionists. They charge a ridiculous amount and when they added charges to my bill without notice they refused to refund the amount because I didn't call right when the charge happened but a few days later. I selected the option to leave feedback on their survey but when I told the rep how unhappy I was she just ended the call and I wasn't given the chance to leave official feedback. I also see they've disabled reviews on their Facebook page. Apparently they already know how much people hate them. They have a monopoly in most places and charge double or triple what other decent companies do. My brother offered me a free Xfinity phone he purchased from Xfinity. When I called in to add it to our plan they said they don't accept their own phones that you buy from them unless it's an iPhone. Why sell it if you don't let people use it??? I'd like to say this company is a joke but they're much more evil than that. If you have ANY other internet option choose someone else!!! You probably won't though since they've fought hard to keep their evil monopoly. I will say though that their reps have been very nice (usually knowledgeable) but as a whole the company is something I can't nicely say out loud. read more

So the guy coming to "turn on the switch" was on time, covered his shoes, and for the most part not un-friendly (though not really friendly either...) Normally when you're given a two hour time frame for someone to show up, it's usually the end of that time frame. He was right on the dot at 9 for my 9 to 11 slot. I honestly think that the people they employ to go on site are picked because they aren't the brightest and will believe what their company tells them. The guy went to go make everything work and asked me where my modem was. I told him I didn't need him to set anything up, I just needed him to enable the internet. My husband does IT work and is more capable of setting up our network than this guy ever will be. He told me he had to have a modem because there were things he had to have passwords to get by that my husband wouldn't have. Um, no, all you have to do is enable the cable and call it good. That's all that has needed to be done in the past. Whatever, so he left us with another modem (because ours was packed somewhere in the great yonder of boxes...) and said we would need to drop one of them off at the Comcast store. Great, now I have to go wait in line again... When he got the modem all hooked up, he asked if I had a laptop so he could do that password stuff that wasn't necessary. I said "Ok, but my computer runs Linux." "Oh, I don't know how to use Linux, do you have another computer?" Fortunately for him, my husbands laptop was also here and runs Windows 7. Shouldn't Comcast teach their techs how to use ALL operating systems if they are going to be out in the field working with customers who might use any of the above? COME ON! Like I said, I think they employ people who are easily trained to be drones. If there was another more reliable source for internet (which there isn't because Quest isn't fast enough and Frontier isn't either...) we would have moved our business. read more

If you work from home using a VPN forget it. Your connectivity is not constant or strong enough to support this. I have lost a lot of business because I am in the middle of creating something for my client and I lose connectivity and all the work I have done so far is gone. I also lose connectivity on my phone calls. When I complain to Xfinity they tell me to check with my companies IT. This is NEVER the problem and I have to keep calling Xfinity over and over to have it fixed. Once they "fix it" it lasts a couple of days and then starts all over. They know what is going on but do not seem to know how to address it. Thank goodness I am moving and the Internet provider is Century Link. I will then have DSL and no more issues will come with that. read more

The 30 day free trial is a trick, I tried it for 30 days in Shelton and when I decided not to keep them they told me they would handle it and turn it off on the day I requested, they did not turn it off and I called them there is no record of me calling to disconnect and to make a long story short I have a $293.00 disconnect fee. So if you read this and you get them anyway you only have yourself to blame. They should be sued for unfair business practices. I don't know what the point is in reviewing Comcast when everyone already knows they're rated the worst customer service company in the country. But I just want to add my 2 cents of griping while my Internet is down again and I'm piping over my cellular data plan (slow, and more costly). The funniest thing is their automated customer support line - they actually play advertisements for you to buy UFC episodes, *before* even sending you through all the prompts that get you in the hold queue! They also ask you to respond to about a million touch-tone prompts before putting you in the queue. I recommend you look into CondoInternet if your building offers it (or can get it) in Seattle. We're considering that for our building currently. They're very positively reviewed, tons faster, and even cheaper. read more

What a disaster to be their client! One day we find a note on our door (Newport Hills in Bellevue) saying something like "Hey, your Internet service might be damaged, you better call us to schedule an appointment". And indeed, we then find out there's no Internet at all. And the technician will come only in 5 days. But that's not the point of this review. Stuff happens, I get it. So the technician arrives and finds the problem is with the connector on the cable which needs to be replaced. So what happened is our house was generating a digital noise on the line so we were automatically disconnected to avoid interference and somebody came to put a note on our door. The technician then replaces the cable and walks away. So far so good, the Internet is back. We even got a rebate of $40 for staying offline for 5 days. Then the bill comes. $70 for technician service. WTF? Oh, turns out if technician finds a problem *inside the house* that's a $70 charge, no matter what. I calmly and politely explained to the billing department it makes absolutely no sense to charge me for the cable problem that wasn't brought by me in the first place. Yes, I brought my modem and a WiFi router but they weren't the problem, they work perfectly well since the day I connected. The guy on the phone was extremely stubborn. He stayed very polite as well but refused to cancel the $70 charge, explaining me time after time (we went in circles for about 30 minutes, I kid you not) if the technician goes inside the house that's a $70 charge. He also refused to call anybody else to escalate the issue. The only thing the billing department representative was willing to do is to send me a $30 coupon which I wasn't willing to accept in any way. Seeing there's no way to resolve this deadlock I asked to be transferred to the cancelation department as at this point I was ready to break the contract and cancel their entire service (which would cost me more) if they insist on charging me for that stupid cable repair "inside the house". Luckily, the nice lady in the cancellation department agreed with me right away and promised to adjust my account balance by $70. And it took less than a minute. Oh my god! Why would a guy in the billing department argue with me back and forth for 30 minutes if somebody else can resolve this problem in less than a minute. That's beyond me. I'm not saying anything new here. Just adding another 1-star review they rightfully deserve. read more

Good luck when using, seems to be the Comcast standard. Hope it all works well without instruction is there approach. Then when you call for help, it's your fault. Don't ask for a manager to help. 1 of 2 things will happen. They will hang up on you or they will put the supposed president ( by his standards ) with no supervisor above him on the phone only to be more combative and less helpful. Research better options. Customer service, a euphemism at best, has gone spectacularly awry in the last three days with xFinity. It started because we had issues with caller ID and buffering. The first technician on the phone (who was very hard to understand) told me to contact Netflix and Amazon Prime as it was their problem. I told him that the probability that both Netflix and Amazon Prime had buffering issues simultaneously from their end was close to zero, that it truly was an xFinity problem. He was unable to solve the caller ID issue, so passed me on to an advanced technician who was even harder to understand. She not only could not solve the caller ID problem, but managed to wipe out ALL caller ID totally. She also sent me a folder of trashed e-mails so I could "restore" them even though I had no problem with e-mail.????She did set an appointment for a technician. The technician who arrived the following day solved the caller ID problem, gave me a plan going forward with the buffering issue, and basically checked our system to insure everything was working properly.:). HE GETS A 5 STAR RATIMG. So last night we noticed the guide had not totally rebuilt. We pulled the plug, waited, and plugged it back in which usually solves the problem. Not so. So I called Comcast, got the automated reply that wait times for technicians was very long, to go instead to my phone app and chat with an agent who could immediately help me. So I did. Logged in successfully, but got the spinning wheel for 10 minutes so gave up. Twice when I have called for help recently, the automated voice has told me that there is an outage in my area so they can't help....all while I had internet, phone, and cable service. ??? I'd like to believe that this is not just a put-off, but???? If you have a question about a technical issue, they give you the runaround message and terminate the call. If you lie and say it is not about a technical issue, they give you the runaround message and terminate the call. In other words, talking to a human is darn near impossible. And when you get a human, the foreign accent is problematic. In my case it came down to the advanced technician actually having to spell the word for me. I believe they have the technical abilities to solve problems in most cases, but when outsourcing technical help leaves you struggling to understand what they want you to do, it is counterproductive. For awhile, I saw Comcast making strides in customer service. I have always found the technicians who arrive at my house helpful. This is the only bill I receive where I have to close-read it like a research article to make sure i'm not being overcharged. Amongst a host of bad experiences, my most recent: I turn in a modem (at their request). 3 months later I notice i'm being charged for an inactive modem. I call and they take the charge off my account and give me a credit. So all good right? No. A YEAR LATER...I notice a modem charge. Yes, the same modem. I call and they give me a credit, with the same assurances and yada yada about "this call is being recorded for quality assurance." A month after that...yep, the same charge with an additional $15 fee for a service I never asked for. This is the most incompetent company i've ever dealt with. read more
