I'd been craving a great hotspot experience for almost 3 years, unfortunately middle America isn't much for specialty "ethnic cuisine" so I was extremely happy to find this business in Frankfurt. I made a reservation on the website but it wasn't very busy so a reservation may not be needed. It was easy to find right across from the train station. The business does require a mask and proof of vaccination before being seated, which at this point in the pandemic game shouldn't be a surprise at all.
The menu is only offered in German and Cantonese, so brush up on one of the two before you go. The lady that helped me and my friend was able to help me despite my preschool level German ability. She was so amazing, I wish I had her name to give her proper credit. She made sure my friend and I understood the process and helped us with the sauce station as well.
On to the food. The hot broth is H.O.T! Do not scoop from the bottom if you want to be able to tolerate the meal. My lips went numb and I'm not adverse to heat. Spicy is an understatement. It was very tasty, but after a while it was hard to enjoy for me personally. The tomato broth was great and offered a much needed relief from the heat. The options to select from was pretty extensive as well. I stuck to things I'm familiar with, but I think there are a few specialty items that I may try next time. Everything is ordered through a tablet which made it easy to keep the price in mind and prevented my indecisiveness from taking up the servers time.
I'm not ashamed to say that I've literally thought about this place every day since I first had it, I can't wait to go back. read more
