    Minced Pork Rice Bowl-
    Chelsea C.

Solid 4 star experience. The food was flavorful, but I'm a sucker for a traditional old school Chinese spot. This is new school stuff. I tried the soup dumplings, which were good. The diced pork over rice, would have been nicer crispier. I thought the sauce was ok but overdone. I'm not a heavy sauce person so if you like a heavy sauce this is your dish. I'd come back to try another dish.

Xibei Eatery had such delicious food and everyone was friendly! Service was quick and our waiter, Mars, was the sweetest ever! I got to meet another named Mark and he was very accommodating and made sure all of our questions were answered. We ordered 7 dishes and 2 drinks coming to a total of $120.99 which was an amazing bill for everything we got! There was no wait and the place was so pretty inside! Clean and ready to go. The food was amazing. Their hand pulled noodles were so soft and chewy with a little bit of spice. I also loved their garlic noodles a lot! Their Passion fruit green tea was so refreshing and paired well with all the food. Parking was shared in a plaza but the spot was easy to find. overall would give this place a 5 star rating!

If you're looking for an authentic Chinese noodle shop, Xibei Eatery may be a contender for the best in OC! I came here last night for dinner with 3 of my friends, and we ordered several noodle dishes, the infamous XLB, uni shumai dumplings, popcorn chicken, pork belly, garlic butter broccoli, and sweet drinks. We did not wait long for our food, and everything was a hit! We were all satisfied with the portions as well as the clean interior of the restaurant. Special thanks to the staff lead, Mark, who served us and stopped by frequently to make sure we were happy with our dining experience. I would perhaps compare Xibei Eatery to Six Alley Biang Biang Noodles, which is also in Santa Ana and known for their hand-pulled noodles. Still, I could not be more pleased with dining at Xibei Eatery and I'd be happy to return. Shoutout to Mark and team!

Food: solid, less mala/numbing spice than I expected but good flavors, standard spice is less than siracha level. The xlb was the fave of the table, but genuinely enjoyed everything we ordered. Even the drinks were delicious - rose red grape was the fav! Service: maybe they're trying to figure out logistics, but service was super slow. Orders were mixed up and we couldn't get any water until we were almost done with our food. They are very friendly, but definitely bewildered . Interior: cool seating options, may have to share tables. Can accomdate large parties (6+) but if it's snug you can sit outside as well. Plenty of parking even for a busy plaza on a weekend.

came in on a tuesday afternoon for lunch, parking was very easy to find. I ate in and ordered through a qr code but had a server named Mark. He was great. I got the short rib hand pulled noodles & they were bombbb, super thick & the short rib was fire. I also got the Pork Belly Rice Bowl, Xiao Long Bao, Uni & Shrimp Shumai & Crispy Millet Bombs . Everything was really good. I ate everything. Total was around $63. 10/10 would come again.

You had me at hand-pulled noodles..MY FAV!!! *drools* I'm always in the hunt for some good hand-pulled noodz in OC, so I was stoked to hear that XIBEI Eatery recently opened up in Santa Ana. Located near MainPlace mall, in the CityPlace plaza (near Mother's Market), XIBEI is a cute & modern Chinese restaurant ~ focusing on authentic Northwestern Chinese cuisine. The space is open and bright, with plenty of seating (both indoor & out). You even get a front-eyed view of the chefs making fresh noodles thru the kitchen window, as you enter the restaurant. Parking in the plaza is plentiful & not cray. The staff is super friendly & efficient, greeting you upon arrival. I've officially been here twice now. Once on a date night w/ the hubs and once again today for a family lunchie w/ the hubs & daughter. I've fallen in love w/ the beef brisket oil splashed hand-pulled noods ($18.75). While my hubs loves the special combo deal ~ beef short rib oil splashed hand-pulled noods deal w/ a free drink & salad for only $18.75! Both dishes are flavorful, not even spicy (as it looks). My beef literally looks like it fell off the bone ~ it's so soft and tender. I love the addition of the potatoes and carrots too. The hand-pulled noods are sooo chewy and fresh. Super yums! We came hungry, so we opt'd for the 8-piece xiao long bao (soup dumplings) ~ $9.50, which is chewy & packed w/ soupy flavor. The scallion pancake ($6) was crispy & yums, esp. when you dip it w/ some chili oil, soy sauce & a splash of vinegar. Lastly, we tried the cucumber salad, which I would prolly pass next time..as it wasn't that memorable. It was refreshing, but it lacked the vinegar punch that my fam likes, when I make it at home or that DTF has. IYKYK. I ordered the refreshing jasmine green tea. You can really taste the good quality of the tea. Not bitter or overly sweet. My hubs opt'd to try the rose grape green tea, which was different, but good..esp. if you like grapey flavors. All in all, a RxFoodie recommend & must try!!! We'll definitely be back.

Very nice spot with delicious food! The Beef Brisket Oil Splashed Hand pulled noodles and Butter Garlic Noodles with Beef Sauce were INCREDIBLE! We also tried the Xiao Long Bao and beef and onion - both super. The service was great too, they were constantly checking in on us and made sure we were taken care of. We will be back!!

The xiao long bao completely stole the show. Each dumpling was packed with rich, flavorful broth and a perfectly seasoned filling ,easily the highlight of the meal. The garlic noodles with beef sauce were absolutely addictive. The noodles were coated in a savory, garlicky sauce that had so much depth of flavor, and I found myself going back for bite after bite. The beef short ribs were just TENDER . BOMB What made the experience even better was the service. The staff was incredibly warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming, making us feel taken care of from start to finish. From the quality of the food to the hospitality, this spot exceeded expectations. Definitely a place I'll be craving again soon!

this is a great place to get some classic chinese dishes! they're famous for their noodles which came in these huge bowls. we got so many dishes, including: beef brisket noodle soup, beef short rib oil splashed hand pulled noodles, dan dan noodles, pork belly, uni and shrimp shumai, xiaolongbao, garlic butter broccoli, popcorn chicken and the yellow millet sticky rice. everything was so delicious and served fresh! I really loved the popcorn chicken. service was fast and they made sure we had everything we needed. the interior is also very pretty and nice for catching up with friends.

Glad I came across Xibei Eatery! We were greeted by friendly staff when we walked in and our server was very attentive throughout our meal. He recommended their specialty dish which is the hand pulled noodles. We ordered the soup dumplings tasted flavorful (boyfriend's favorite). The pork and cabbage shumai was probably my favorite because it was juicy and tasted very fresh. It also had a great texture. The hand pulled noodles with short beef ribs were also delicious. The noodles had a nice chew to it and the beef was really tender and had the right amount of spice. Overall, everything we ordered was really good and you can tell the food is made fresh to order! Definitely excited to come back and try more of the menu!

We had a wonderful dining experience at this Xibei restaurant. The food was absolutely delicious--full of authentic flavors and freshly prepared. The hand-pulled noodles were perfectly chewy, the lamb dishes were tender and well-seasoned, and the portions were very generous. The service was friendly and attentive, and the staff made sure we felt welcome throughout our meal. The atmosphere was warm and comfortable, perfect for both family gatherings and casual meals. Overall, a great place to enjoy. We will definitely be coming back again soon!

The restaurant itself is a bit on the small side so you'll be close to your neighbors not that it was an issue personally. My buddy and I ordered our items and shared with each other for a good full experience. We got the three-in-one noodles medium heat and the Ma Hu Beef noodles with mild heat alongside the cucumbers with medium heat as an appetizer. Cucumbers were very fresh! However, they really were just cucumbers with a little heat on them so they weren't anything too special. Once the main entrees came in, I couldn't stop myself from digging in! I forgot to take a picture until after some damage was done to our meals. Three-in-one was so flavorful and sweet with the noodles becoming incredibly soft after having mixed it all together. The star of the show for me though was the Ma Hu Beef noodles. The beef was remarkably tender and delicious and the noodles had a firmer texture that complimented with the flavors. Oddly enough, the mild heat on the Ma Hu Beef was spicier than the medium heat three-in-one! If you find yourself in the mood for Biangbiang noodles, this is definitely the spot to go to. On a side unrelated note about the parking which did not influence my review; the parking here is rough. It's consistently packed so watch out for that. There is a structure across the street that allows parking for the food court. I parked in the structure but I had a bad experience because since it's also parking for the residents above, the gate was closed on us after 8pm. I had to wait for a vehicle to come out and open the gate for not only just me but for multiple other people that had also parked in the structure!Just something to keep in mind. Hopefully that doesn't continue being an issue for future guests.

Leaving this review after an almost bad experience to help the restaurant or anyone else that may…read morehave eaten here today. 5 stars for fixing the problem immediately for us. We've been here several times before and what keeps us coming back is the quality of the food. Today, they had a new chef cook our food and it was terrible. Green beans were extremely sour (way way too much vinegar). Mapo Tofu had a ton of oil but not enough sauce, so it was just flavorless except the oil. The fried pork chop was over fried where some pieces you can't even bite through. The rice had too much water in it and was mushy. I rarely return food but this time it was so bad we had to let them know. We returned all of our dishes back to them. They let us know there was a new chef today, and they would remake all the dishes for us with the original chef. The replacement dishes were just as good as all our previous visits and it was excellent again! So thanks to the staff for fixing the problem. I'm not sure if they are training a new chef to take over, or as a backup, but they need to be careful as serving bad quality food like that would drive most people to never come back. We knew the food was good from prior experience, so we knew we could ask why the food quality changed. For first time customers, or those that may have ordered to go - if you had bad food today, it may have been a fluke due to the new chef. Service however was a amazing as usual. For all our visits including today, the staff has been kind and always looking for ways to help out and make sure we were having a good experience. So besides the food being good, I would say excellent service is also huge plus here. Don't be fooled with the automated ordering and robot delivering the food into thinking there is no service. The people behind the counter are awesome! Hope management takes care of this new chef issue quickly since their food quality is the main reason people come here. There was a night and day difference between the original food we got today, and the replacement!

We have eaten at EverSpring many times ever since they opened and my family loved it because it…read moretasted like authentic cantonese dishes. It had been a couple of months since we were last there and my parents and my daughter had been asking to go back and were really looking forward to eating there. However, we were so disappointed when we went back 2 weeks ago! The menu changed a bit, which was fine, and all our usual dishes were still there. We did notice that the cooks have changed and the original Cantonese chef was not there. I think the kitchen staff really changed how the flavors of the dishes for the worst. My 7yo daughter used to love their shrimp fried rice, but as soon as the fried rice came out, the first thing she said was "how come it looks so different from before." Not only did it look different, it was BURNT. It was like they fried the rice in a burnt wok so every grain of rice was coated in tiny black burnt bits. It was essentially inedible. They also just topped the rice with some tastless blanched shrimp instead of actually stir frying the shrimp into the rice. The green onion pancake used to be flakey with layers and expectedly oily for this dish, but the pancake we got this time was essentially a tasteless tortilla. It literally looked and tasted like a tortilla. No layers, flakes or oil at all and was the worst green onion pancake I've ever had anywhere. The fish with black bean sauce was acceptable, but it was definitely not the same. It tasted more like American Chinese flavors instead of the previous authentic Cantonese flavors. The only dish that I thought was still good was the stir fried eggplants, although my parents said it also tasted more Americanized. We are so sad that the food here has changed so much and it was one of the rare places my Cantonese dad actually said tasted authentically Cantonese in the area. The restaurant was full during our latest vist but we did notice that 90% of the diners and people ordering take-out were non-Asians. When we came previously, there was a good mix of Asian and non-Asian diners, so it seems like the clientele have shifted, which might explain the flavor changes or vice versa. The staff is still very nice and friendly, but it seems like the robot server has been laid off. I don't think we will be coming back again unfortunately as the food is no longer what we loved before. However, they seemed to still be doing well so others must still like it.

Massive parking lot so that was easy, one friend went ahead and let them know we had 10 incoming. They made room and we sat immediately. One of the spots that you scan a menu at the table and you review, order and pay all in the app. I was really not familiar with the line up and went with the "House Special Beef Pot Roodle" (Roodles are their rice noodles). It was a weekend only item and I tried that. The noodles came separate from the soup. Over all it was very tasty. The meat was a bit fatty and the soup had tendons too. I took that part home and my wife loved it. I tend to avoid the fatty meat and tendons are not good to me. 10 of us so some of the appetizers got passed around. The smashed cucumbers are excellent, and my buddy also got some friend potatoes of sorts, reminded me of a fat French fry. Because my buddy and I sat at the same table we scanned the same menu, he ordered a bunch of stuff and also House Special Beef Pot Roodle. That confused the kitchen and they asked me if I meant to order 2, I said no and didn't realize I cancelled my buddy's order. Part of the confusion of a large party and many scanned menu orders. My buddy was struggling to order and our initial waiter seemed to not understand my friend and that took a little bit to work out, young lady came from the back and was able to quickly resolve some of the confusion and get questions answered as needed. In the end he had lot of food to explore. One thing that caught my eye was several couples there and sharing a large soup item served with a tray of various food items for the soup. Kind of a date night visual and something that looked very interesting. Several couples around us had that same dish and its got me more curious. Might have to come back with my wife and try this one.

I ordered their most popular dish, the A1 set, but honestly, it didn't really live up to the hype for me. The broth tasted pretty underseasoned overall. From what I understood, you're supposed to mix all the toppings into the soup with the noodles, but even after doing that, I still felt like the flavor was lacking. Yes, they provide seasoning on the side, but personally, I wish the broth already had enough flavor on its own without needing to adjust it myself. Would I come back? Probably not. Nothing really stood out to me enough to return, and it felt more like a one-time experience. Overall, everything was just okay.

This helped us get a table much faster than we would have than if we had just shown up and waited. We ordered the large family meal, and there were 12 of us. We also ordered the Newport Lobster, fish fillet with black bean sauce, and an extra shrimp fried rice. Overall, I think the food was good, and the prices are reasonable (except the lobster, which was pricey, as you might expect from anything listed as "market price"). Most of us in the group thought the fish fillet with black bean sauce was the best. I thought it was very good, but not necessarily fantastic. (There are other Chinese restaurants that do it a little better.) The sauce was very good, but the fish wasn't quite as tender as it can be. Definitely a solid 4 stars. Other dishes were good. I think the scallop soup could have been great for some people, but my wife and I both hate cilantro, and there was a ton of cilantro. The pork was also good, and my friends thought the clams were also really good. I found the fried rice a bit bland. And for both the lobster and the crab, they could have made them a little easier to eat by cracking the shells a bit more for us. I hate fighting with my food ... And there was a fair amount of fighting on these 2 dishes. The lobster cost almost much as all the other dishes combined. It certainly looked amazing. And the sauce was very good. But I found most of it a bit overcooked. Maybe it was our fault for asking for a big one. Maybe a smaller lobster might have been cooked a little less. The great sauce (along with the fighting with the shell) might have covered up the fact that the meat was actually a bit tough and rubbery. I don't think I'd order this again. The service was very friendly and pretty fast. And, again, other than the lobster, the pieces were pretty reasonable.

Our family joked around and would say let's go to the travel agency restaurant when we had a craving for Chinese/Vietnamese type of food. I recall the food back then was extra tasty and memorable, leaving me wanting to return again and again. However, my recent lunch outing with my girlfriends changed my mind. Our servers were attentive and friendly. I think it helped that my friend was a familiar customer. We came on a Monday afternoon around 11:30 and It was early enough where parking was still available. We ordered the classic dishes, including salt and pepper fried pork chopsand salt and pepper fried shrimp, but the taste this time around left a lot to be desired. These two dishes lacked the crunchiness and flavors that these fried entrees are supposed to showcase. We found the pork chops to be dry and tough, as if it was prepared a while ago and sitting out for some time before it made its way to our table. The shrimp was not impressive either. At least the shaking beef or bo luc lac was good. The beef chunks were tender, and the flavors were on point. Bonus points for the broth that is complimentary during lunch. Also the complimentary orange slices were a nice touch to end our meal. We'd still return for the lobster and noodle when the occasion comes up.

Ordered takeout for lunch over the weekend and was very satisfied!…read more We ordered: -spicy chili oil wontons -scallion pancakes and beef roll -pan fried buns -xiao long bao -green beans -cucumber salad -popcorn chicken Everything was delicious! The beef with the scallion pancakes was sooo tender. The cucumber salad was extra refreshing with the perfect balance of savory and tangy. You also can't ever go wrong with spicy wontons, pan fried buns, popcorn chickens, or braised green beans. Yum! Huge bonus: the restaurant is directly connected to Ben Gong's Tea. Loooove the osmanthus milk tea! I'd recommend subbing out the crystal boba and rice with regular boba and tea cubes.

Mine and my bf's go to are the dry fried green beans, mapo tofu, Chong Qing Spicy Chicken, and Yang Chow fried rice. These are more than enough for two people and we always have leftovers to take home. The mapo tofu pairs soooo well with the fried rice and my bf loves the chicken. Green beans are flavorful and crispy as well! Hot and sour soup is HUGE. They aren't consistent in making this because some days it's the perfect balance of tangy and spicy flavor, but other times its tooooo sour. The restaurant is very spacious. I love that you can just order via QR (on your phone).

We shared my 2 favorite items: Mongolian Trio and Walnut Shrimp. The quality of the food here has been consistent since day 1. This place has great deals and happens to be next to one of my fav Japanese restaurants too! We started with egg drop soup and it was thick and hearty, added a little soy and spice to it and it was great, the schezwan wontons were amazing as well and had an interesting spice chili sauce to them which was great (I used the leftover chili sauce to add to my other food as well). The beef and broccoli had a lot of flavor but was my least fav of everything we ordered. Not bad but typical dish. The fried rice was cooked fine and I liked the veggies they included, it had nice taste and complimented the food as well. The chow mein was delicious and had great flavor and fresh ingredients too. Service was quick and excellent. The restaurant is pretty small so any party over 4 will need to combine tables which is what we did but it worked out. This may just have became one of my new fave Chinese places!

Honestly, I'm not sure what those reviewers were eating because my meal was terrible. The BBQ pork was absolutely disgusting--super dry, tough, and had no sauce whatsoever. The orange chicken was a complete bust as well, lacking flavor and freshness. The rice wasn't any better. The only thing that was halfway decent were the noodles, and that was only because I used two packets of soy sauce to make them edible. I would describe this place as a visual mirage. As you can see from the photos, they give you a huge amount of food, but I'd much rather have quality over quantity. A giant plate of bad food is still bad food. I ended up leaving almost the entire meal untouched and will most likely throw the whole thing away. I almost asked for a refund, but I decided not to. Instead, I'll simply share my experience and recommend saving your $13 and spending it somewhere else. The one positive thing I can say is that the staff and owners were very nice and courteous. For customer service, they deserve credit. Unfortunately, kindness alone can't make up for food that was this disappointing. Very disappointed customer.
