Although my family is new to this studio (second year), we are not new to the dance world. 30 years of experience, I could not be happier that my granddaughter is a member of their studio family. Professional dance instructors that show compassion, care and integrity in their instruction to the youngest at 18 months to adults. Studio is clean, students are in uniform leotards, students and parents have been polite and friendly, staff is informative and owner is very pleasant and she was present. Granddaughter loves her class, new friends and teacher. She runs down the hallway to her dance room every time after saying hi to the waiting area and staff. She loves to dance (and practice). Our family ultimately decided to leave this studio due to ongoing concerns that, unfortunately, appear to still be affecting dancers today. One of the biggest issues was the studio's unwillingness to address bullying and negative behavior among dancers. Multiple parents brought concerns to the attention of staff and leadership, yet there seemed to be little accountability or meaningful action taken. As a result, many dancers were left feeling unsupported. Another concern was the inconsistent enforcement of studio rules and expectations. Certain dancers appeared to be held to different standards than others, creating a perception of favoritism and unfair treatment. When rules are applied selectively, it can be discouraging for children who are working hard to meet expectations. Most concerning was the emotional impact on the dancers. It became far too common to see children leaving practices upset or coming home in tears. Dance should challenge and inspire young performers, but it should also be a place where they feel safe, respected, and encouraged. We hoped these issues would improve after we left, but after speaking with several current families, it appears many of the same concerns remain. Every child deserves an environment where they can grow both as a dancer and as a person. Unfortunately, that was not our experience. This is a shame DO BETTER!!! read more

We have been with Xpress Yourself Dance Studio for almost 10 years. If you are looking to find a dance family, XY is the place for you. The staff is warm and welcoming. The studio offers so many options for all different ages and all different styles of dance. The studio owner and director, Kristin Vincent, is extremely knowledgeable and professional. The studio manager, Cassandra, is very helpful and provides responses to questions in a very timely manner. Experienced 2 of their company dancers at a charity event who decided that putting on their make up with the car door open so we couldn't pull our car into the available parking spot next to them was more important. They were rude and even the parent told us there was a parking spot across on the other side. Excuse me!!! Whenever these kids are in public at an event they are a representation of their studio!!! These are not the values that should be instilled. Especially at a charity event where there are many other studios participating!!! Indicative of what I've heard about their owner. Arrogant and full of themselves!!!!!!! Performing Arts is not just about teaching dance but teaching the whole person! They need to learn manners and the world doesn't revolve around them!!!!!! read more

I signed my daughter for hip hop class and the lace only cares about their ballet and classical dancers. No importance given to hip hop. she started with one teacher and over night they had a new teacher after they began recital rehearsals. The new teacher never communicated with parents nor even greeted parents. After a month of rehearsal the teacher made my 12 year old feel uncomfortable and insecure to the point where she did not want to return to class nor be in recital. Inspire with the manager Cassandra who said she would speak with the teacher but that only made it worse and my daughter did not want to return. Not only are their teachers not equipped to work with children, but they charged me for the next month that she would not be attending plus recital fees which the owner Kris refused to refund!!!!! I happened to come across this rating and it blew my mind. We have been going to this dance studio for 5 years. I can't say enough amazing things about it. We have never been mistreated and everyone on Kristin's staff has always been so kind. They do keep up a positive environment and are very supportive of one another. We have been talking for several years with Kristin about putting our daughter in company and she has never pushed it when our daughter decided she wasn't ready at the time. We are truly grateful we found this studio! read more

My wife and I absolutely love XY dance studio. My daughter has been dancing at their studio since she was only 18 month old girl and the way she has grown and excelled has been incredible. Their love, passion, and dedication has been a breath of fresh air! The friendly and caring staff make me feel extremely comfortable dropping my daughter off in their care. As a family that has lived in many different cities and has daughters who have danced at many different dance studios, this one is by far the worst. While it has been a little while since we left the studio, I am still dealing with the negative impact to one of my daughters so I wanted to share my thoughts. In my opinion, the owner is an evil pretentious phony. She told us what we wanted to hear with a fake smile but once she had our money, we realized we were not getting what we signed up for. Based on our experience, if you want your child insulted, ridiculed, and bullied then this is the place for you. The dance instruction is non existent. The classes can be compared to babysitting with music. With dance studios on every corner, it's no wonder this one has few students. Do your children a favor and skip this studio. read more

I purchased a Groupon so that I can test it out so my daughter try it to see if she will like it. The young women that they have in the front....Lord is so shy and doesn't seem to have customer service experience. She seems to be very young and not very experienced. In picking my daughters first dance class I thought I would like to pick something that we captivate her attention. The young women in the front told me that my 4yr old would enjoy Jazz. Ok jazz it is!!! Uhmm no they put my daughter in a class with grown teenagers learning a very technical dance routine. I pulled her out and decided no she needs to do ballet and/or tap. We went to another dance class and didn't go back. I was very uncomfortable there and it seemed as if they didn't care about new clients (who could have been potential clients) but I'll take my money else where. read more

My daughter is currently a TKD athlete, but she has been wanting to try out dance. So I purchased a groupon for this school for my daughter to try it. Let me tell you what a waste of my time and $36. She is 7 years old and she decided to try acrobats it was a 1 hour class which started 5 minutes late then they stretch for 35 minutes leaving them with 20 minutes to actually do flips but they must make a line in order to do flips and their were 19 students so but button line my daughter did 3 flips TOTAL! Furthermore, the front desk girl is really rude. But I have a feeling I know why. They are racist. They mistreat color people. Their is not one color student there. I do not recommend this school to anyone unless you are white and blonde, they will receive you with open arms even though the classes suck! They can keep the money because my daughter will never return there! Good luck on your selection! read more
