sent my 3 year old here for their summer camp for a week. They called me 3 times during the week to ask me to pick my 3 year old up immediately because they 'hit' another child. Rather than take care of this on their own, as any normal place would that has 3 year olds, they just call the parent to come pick them up no matter if you are at work or not. how can you run any program for 3 year olds and not know how to handle these situations on your own? My daughter has been begging to try gymnastics for nearly 4 years. We've done a few trial classes at different places but I've never been very impressed, as a former gymnast myself. I finally caved when I found this place because they offered school break camps with flexibility- choose your day, choose AM/PM or full day, and they were reasonably priced. It was the perfect opportunity to try a place longer than a 30min class out before committing to anything long term. The first day my daughter was predictably timid- she's a very attached child, even at nearly 7 years old. The staff was so welcoming and she miraculously said goodbye easily. When I picked her up 3 hours later, she was over the moon happy!! She wanted me to sign her up for full days the rest of the week. My only complaint is that this place fills up their classes and camps quickly- so unfortunately they were completely booked. We were able to do one more afternoon over the winter break- thanks to the amazing woman at the front desk- I didn't catch her name. Overall this place is clean, well run, affordable, with great instructors. There are a lot of gymnastics options in town, but we will always prioritize the quality of coaches and the overall organization as a whole. This place excels at both. We will be attending here for years to come! read more

I really don't like leaving poor reviews, yet in this pandemic environment I would expect a facility and business such as this to be on top of their A-game. We went in for a trial class for my 5 year-old daughter. We went with another family, our two girls barely received any attention from the coaches. At one point they were lifting each other to the bar. There was hardly any welcome or introductions, no follow up whatsoever. Gail from the front was not friendly. When asking her questions, she provided one word replies- very curt and left me with an uneasy feeling. With that said- the facility was the only redeeming quality of the experience : new and clean. However, I will not be sending my daughter here anytime soon unless they figure out their HR and PR crew. read more

Very dirty. The viewing area upstairs is never cleaned - I see the same goldfish and wrappers on the ground week after week. The kids seem to have fun but the classes are large and coaches can't give them much attention. This place used to be top notch but has really gone downhill. read more

The staff is absolutely wonderful from the office to the coaches. Our son (age 6) has thrived on their preteam and has become more aware of healthy vs unhealthy activities and foods. He loves the summer camp program and thinks coach Jeremiah is AWESOME! We even have used the Parents Night Out which was inexpensive and he thought it was so fun it was hard to drag him out of the building lol. I can't review about the classes here. We bought a birthday package from our school silent auction fundraiser so this is what my review is on. I really didn't know what to expect for a birthday party since gymnastic places are generally very busy especially on a weekend. I was instructed to book on a Sunday so I did. When we arrived, we had the WHOLE place to ourselves. I was soooo surprised!!!!! Plus we had two hostesses for the party. It was great!!! The hostesses took the kids through the varies activities from the rope climbing to the blueberry pit to other gymnastic activities. The kids had a great time! Us parents had an upstairs area where we could sit to see what the kids were doing. After the gymnastic activities, all the kids and parents upstairs to a private room where they had the plates and balloons set up- even a big happy birthday sign. The birthday package included a cake plus ice cream!!! One thing for sure, the party impressed all the other parents. They kept asking me if I had reserved the whole place for the party. Most importantly, the kids had the best time ever!!!!! read more

My boys are 5 & 7, and gymnastics class at Xtreme is the highlight of their week! Even after a year, they still get so excited to go. As a parent, I love that class is both fun and good for them. After just the first few months, I could already tell the difference in their balance and coordination as they have hit milestones in developing important motor skills. This gym has great classes for every age/skill level, competitive or not. The facility is huge and well equipped, they have special events like spring break day camps, and the coaches are fun. And did I mention PARENTS' NIGHT OUT?! We take advantage of that nearly every time they offer it (usually the 2nd Saturday of every month). That's just a win-win for everyone!!! read more

My son has attended Xtreme for a year and has not progressed at all. There is no reason that after a year a child isn't even doing handstands. it isn't just my son, it is other boys in his group as well. For what you pay monthly here I expect A LOT more from the instructors. It seems as though the focus is entirely on competition teams who pay a significant amount more, which is fine but when those kids grow up your beginner kids are going to be the ones replacing them. Please put more energy into teaching your beginner classes. We have pulled him and placed him at a new facility down Bell road, Biltmore gymnastics. Cheaper monthly, they actually give the pupils homework to do, they have two hour classes instead of one hour. They are stricter and get the children to focus and learn!! read more

Don't bother wasting your time at this unprofessional establishment. We went today for the 90 minute Play with Me session. Things were going well until around 11:30, the "coach" yelled from across the other side of the gym (with her back turned to us), "Ok boys time to go." I assumed she was on the phone. The reason being she had her back to us and we have paid to be there till 12. The friend I was with said "I think she is talking to us." I asked the gym assistant if she was speaking to us and she said "Yes, time to go." When I questioned the front desk, they said the website was wrong about times and they can't change it. While I find it odd that a business does not have the availability to change their website, the bigger issue is the way the "coach" yelled at my kid and myself. It was obvious she was there to just clock in hours. I saw online this place has a preschool. Please do not take your child here. If they would yell at my child and me, what would they do when a parent wasn't around during preschool hours?!?!?!? read more

This is for 3 and under kiddos: I try and be as honest as possible because not everyone is looking for the same thing. So with that being said, if you're looking to spend a bunch of money on open gym and not an actual class and have to register for the same class every single month (and they don't remind you, so if you forget then you lose your spot) then this is the class for you. I'm a nanny and have brought all my nanny kids here. It used to be great, it was the perfect amount of structure for the 15month-2.5 year old kiddos. There was structure but not too much, it was great! Now, there is zero structure and it is completely UNSAFE. There were literally 12 two year olds just running rampant! 5 kids jumping on one trampoline, all kids running on the tumble track at the same time, all in different directions, so dangerous! We went to two classes just to make sure it wasn't just an off day. After the second class, we cancelled. Not to mention I have a 15month old and an almost 3 year old and they will NOT work with you on scheduling, at all. My almost 3 year old is literally a month from being 3 and has been potty trained for over 6 months and they won't even let her move to the next level a few weeks early so I can have their fall schedule set. AND on top of that, I was told I would receive a call back 4 TIMES in regards to their schedules...I never heard anything. Don't waste your time! I called 5 different gymnastics places and ALL of them are willing to work with the kids' schedules. So if you want a good gymnastics place go to Arizona Sunrays, Little Gym, Gymboree, North Valley Gumnastics or Scottsdale Gymnastics. read more

Having moved here to Scottsdale recently from Texas, where I was used to having a dozen gyms with strong programs all within a 10 mile radius of our last home, I knew that our gym options would be a little bit more limited in Arizona. I should preface my kids are not on a competitive team, and we are just a one class a week kind of family. The last gym we came from has trained three Olympic gold medalists, and when asking them for Phoenix gym recommendations, the few gym names they could recommend me (meaning, that they were familiar with by name, and were the closest caliber to what we were used to) were all in Chandler. That should have been my first clue before I tried Xtreme. This is the closest gym to our home. We signed up for a trial class. We arrived, and although the gym is a decent size, the waiting area is small and cramped with two sets of double benches that serve as the viewing area. My 5 year old tried the preschool class. No introduction to the coach, and no evaluation of her prior skills whatsoever- the office staff whisked my kid onto the gym floor to join a preschool group. She was placed in a class with 8 other kids, to make an overcrowded class of 9 kids. If you are familiar with USA Gymnastics protocol in regards to safety, the max teacher:student ratio for a recreational class is 1:8, and preschool age classes are 1:6. The group did a couple of runs on the long trampoline/tumble track. Since there were 9 kids in the class, there was a lot of standing around and waiting. Then the group went onto the floor and did a circuit on the floor. Again with 9 kids, there was a lot of standing around and waiting, and the kids were essentially expected to go through the circuit like an obstacle course. The circuit had very little emphasis on actual gymnastics skills progression...just a couple of mats set up to jump on and off from, and the coach seemed to be going through the motions of just keeping the kids moving than actually spotting the children on actual skills, or giving any correction about form. My kid was clearly bored, and I can't say I blame her because the quality of the instruction was clearly lacking, since she had come from a far superior gym environment before. The gymnastics class, which I use that term loosely for what I had witnessed, was 55 minutes of my life I will never get back. I was close to pulling my kid off the floor in the middle of class, but didn't. At the end of class, there was absolutely no follow up from the coach or the office staff, as in not even a "hi, I'm the coach", or "this class would be a great fit". After my kid put on her shoes, we left the gym unnoticed and were glad to get out of there. As expected, no follow up from the office, and no effort made by the gym to contact us to ask how our trial class was, or want our business. Needless to say, we currently make the 30+ minute drive south on the 101 to a far better gym now, and it is a drive that is well worth it for us. If you have nothing to compare this gym to, and have minimal expectations, I'm sure Xtreme is great and will fit your needs. But, my 5 year old could tell the difference. If you value a gym that teaches your kid actual gymnastics skill progression, and offers genuine customer service where you will be recognized as a paying client, you're better off finding another gym elsewhere. read more

COMPLETE WASTE OF MONEY, POOR TEACHING SKILLS, Staff is RUDE, ARGUMENTATIVE, and NOT WILLING TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THEIR TEACHERS. My daughter has gone to this school for 7- 6 week sessions over the last 2 years. Our girl is now 11. I sat there for about 50 minutes and watched my girl do 5 passes in the whole 50 minutes. I informed my wife this was just unacceptable. 5 runs in 50 minutes is an incredible waste of money. Unfortunately the teacher my daughter was stuck with never demonstrated any movement. How do you learn if a teacher can't even demonstrate the movements? My wife has complained in the past about why our daughter has not moved up. We were told because she didn't know how to do the bars. The teacher never showed the class how to do bars so it was impossible for her to pass to another level. You just can't teach or get practice doing 5 runs down a track and jump 5 times in 50 minutes. They continued to Milk us for as much money as they could get while keeping her at the beginning level. When your spending $226.00 for a 6 week session x 7 sessions $1582.00. There seems to be a serious breach of contract. If you pay a gym to teach.. they should actually teach and let the kids practice. Sitting down and being talked to is not learning or doing. I've been teaching athletics for over 35 years. What my daughter was going through was not learning. Since this teaching style was just unacceptable I decided to talk to a supervisor and find out if we could switch our child to a different teacher. When approaching the desk they informed me there was no supervisor and our only recourse was to talk to the teacher. My wife tried to explain we already talked to the teacher. The person at the front desk (Emily) continued to interrupt my wife every time she tried to tell them we already spoke to her teacher and no results. Emily CONTINUED TO BE RUDE. By the fourth time she interrupted my wife I decided it's over.. lets go.. this is not the place for our child. My wife and I got our child out of class and she started putting her street clothes on. I was explaining to my girl why we were leaving and why this gym was just unacceptable to us. Emily came around the corner where the desk walked approximately 15 feet towards us and started trying to interrupt the conversation i was having with my daughter??? I informed her my conversation with our daughter was none of her business.. She kept trying to talk over me so as she continued to raise her voice and try to talk over me. She said "i am a Director Here" as she was yelling at me (even though she already stated there was no supervisor there). I informed her I didn't care who she was. My conversation with my daughter isn't any of her business. I continued to ask her to not bother us.. SHE CONTINUED TO BE RUDE as she tried to talk over me. I continued to raise my voice for her to leave us alone. I had nothing to say to her except to stop bothering us. She kept pressing and trying to argue and trying to talk over me.. JUST UNACCEPTABLE BEHAVIOR FOR A BUSINESS, or any human being for that matter. I WOULD NEVER TAKE MY CHILD TO THIS GYM.. EVER read more

My son and I have really enjoyed his class here.. And did I mention it's free till they are two?! It is such a fun class, great way for him to get some energy out, and we always look forward to it. This is such a great program that they offer and we greatly appreciate it. They did just recently change the age from 3 down to 2 which we are bummed about, but at least this will give more kids opportunity to have a fun time here. Sign up, you won't regret it! read more

Finally found a gym that has wonderful instructors for all ages. Just watching the talented kids at all ages gives me the confidence that they will teach my 5 year old strong gymnastics skills and gain her an overall body strength. My daughters went for a trial class each - Level 1 and Kindergym. The waiting area was nice and spacious. The front desk staff was nice and the instructors introduced themselves afterward. A lot of drills for the pre-k set and you can definitely tell who the more affluent kids were by how much the instructor doted on him/her. Otherwise, the classes were ho-hum at best. My daughters didn't feel challenged or feel focused. They didn't have fun at the least and not because of the social aspect. read more

OK, I have looked everywhere for any parent feed back on this gym, and am at a loss! I have participated in a T&T trial class and my daughter loved it. Yet, I am moving her from club level 4 at another competitive gym to give her a break. Does anyone have any feedback on this gym, or why they moved the cheer program? My daughter has been at Xtreme Gymnastics for a 4 years and on a team for 2 years now. In fact, I have 2 of my daughters there, one 4 and the other 9. All of the staff are very friendly and love Gymnastics and love teaching the kids! The teachers have done gymnastics all their life and are passionate about it. All of the parents are friendly and everybody there is always chatting with each other and nice. When you go to a competition, all of the parents cheer for and are happy when your child does well, (even though their child is competing with yours). I was the only parent sitting in the waiting room to witness what Dale G says in his review. I was half a second from calling the police on him. I watched as he instigated the confrontation, with the office staff. He was yelling at 2 ladies who were half his size and getting in their faces. He then comes around the corner and "orders" his wife to go out onto the floor to get their girl. Parents are NOT allowed on the floor, this is very dangerous to the other kids out there, they could be doing a tumble pass and be injured when a parent walks onto the floor, not knowing where to walk. When his wife and child come back in the room he starts yelling at his daughter for not doing more. He continued yelling and demanding that they advance his daughter before her evaluation (which was going on that night, hence the reason she was sitting down while the coach evaluated them one at a time). The office staff exercised great restraint and asked him to please stop yelling at them and his daughter. He then was becoming more and more agitated and getting into the face of one of the staff members, a lady half his size. She asked him to leave, he wasn't and was getting more agitated. At this point I asked him to leave, he told me it was none of my business, I then asked him to leave again. I did this in a quiet calm manner to deflect his attention away from the office staff. I got my phone ready to call 911 and did not approach him so as to not escalate the situation. He left right after yelling a little more, yelling profanities at the top of his lungs out in the parking lot, at the office staff. You don't treat people this way! Now back to Xtreme Gymnastics, we have been going for years and will continue to go more. I have no complaints about them and only praises for their professional and friendly service! read more

We were referred by a friend and had to wait a month for a trial class for my 23 month old. Classes are free for a reason for kids younger than two. I was disappointed in the class that I left in the middle of it, it wasn't worth the time. Not much instruction and wasn't age appropriate. I've done classes with the city that were more exciting and I'll stick with that or check out SGT. read more

My now 9 and 11 year old started at Xtreme about 2.5 years ago. My daughter started with the rec classes and slowly moved over team as her skills progressed. I am so please at her progression. Coach Megan and Coach Gina are so caring and patient even when it might take her 10 tries to finally stick it!!! Coach Emily Lyon who is the Director is so organized, detailed and always helpful explaining the in and outs of gymnastics to this novice MOM. My son started off in the summer camp program which is also AMAZING ...so much fun for the kids. They immediately saw the inner gymnast in my son. They requested he try out for team... try out? wow never did gymnastics in his life? His first season competing ended up with 1st place on rings and 1st on parallel bars at the state championship meet. They have groomed my little boy into a fine young man. Coach Jeff and Coach Jeremiah have truly been an inspiration to my son and such positive role models. I spend 5 days a week at this gym between both kids and its very family orientated clean place. read more
