I have used this Urgent Care facility several times for a UTI. I am continually impressed by the welcoming, professional care I have received. Used virtual visit. Got bitten by a deer tick in spring and days later had joint pains and a headache. Physician tried to convince me I sprained my ankle. Demanded doxy and she refused to confirm dose. At pharmacy found out she prescribed only 1mg/kg for 3 weeks which is way below the recommended dose of 2-4mg/kg and not long enough. Malpractice. They will kill someone. Go elsewhere. I went there because my doc is deployed so when they told me to see my doctor I sure wish I could. read more

I made an appointment online. They offer this as an option to skip the line in the office. I waited 20 minutes in the waiting room and then was placed in a room only to wait an additional hour. Good customer service would require the MA or PA to come to the room I was in and explain the hold up or let me know how long the wait would be. I hardly ever go to this urgent care but every time I go they tell me I owe money. The last few times I have paid but not this time! They always tell me I owe $80 before they will see me. This makes no sense, a copay is due the time of my visit so how I'm the world can I owe them money?!?! I came to the urgent care in Danbury and Stephanie behind the desk looked at the rash I acquired from an IV put in at DH. She said "I'm so sorry" and I said "it didn't happen here" and she then said "I know but it looks like it hurts I'm so sorry". She actually treated me as a patient and not a dollar sign! Needless to say I will NEVER go back to the urgent care in Brookfield! It's worth it to drive the extra 5 miles to be treated as a patient and a human. read more

My husband woke up Saturday with a large bullseye rash on his chest. He used the virtual visit option at Newtown Physician One simply because there was NO QUESTION as to what the diagnosis was. Dr. agreed and prescribed Doxy. Then NEVER called it in. Husband called them several times and spoke with Physician one in Newtown who fobbed him off to their virtual team. The virtual service employee said they would "look into it" -Still no script called in again! Husband called a third time, fobbed off again and still no script called in. TWO DAYS with no meds for LYME!! WTF??? How hard is it to press send people?? I will NEVER, EVER RECOMMEND this virtual visit nonsense. They are impossible to get ahold of and completely incompetent. The Physician One of Newtown staff were not any help in getting this corrected. Not their problem I guess. NOT HAPPY. GO elsewhere. read more

Although it's clean and nice looking, I still have to say that was the worst Urgent Care that I have ever been to. They have no bedside manner and did not care at all about my issue, deciding I was "fine," providing no advice, medication or anything and sending me on my way. I had to schedule an appointment elsewhere the next day in which I was given the correct antibiotic. Don't go here if you don't absolutely have to because it's a waste of your time and you'll probably just have to go somewhere else the next day. Save yourself the time and money. read more

I was in and out they called my prescriptions into the pharmacy. I was back home in under 2 hours with RX pick up. The PA listened and gave me Tamiflu when I tested + for the flu. We didn't agree on the time line but I feel much better after commencing the meds. I am not cured yet but omg better on the road to recovery. read more

Arrived 15 minutes early for my COVID test appointment as advised. All texts/website instructions and interactions were easy to follow and clear up until then. Once virtually checked in online it only shows that I'm checked along with two tabs of "people that booked ahead" and "people who walked in" which show lists of initials and appointment times and no further info as to any expected wait time or delays or if I'll be seen on time. Went inside at my exact appointment time and the nice receptionist confirmed my name and phone number and said to please wait in my car and they'd call me when they were ready for me. 40 minutes later after hearing nothing I called the office and was then told that they were running about an hour behind. Poor customer service, they should have informed me they were running behind when I walked inside or even better when I signed in virtually. With all due respect to being busy or even perhaps overbooked there's really no excuse for a 30 second phone call to inform of delays. So...I was finally called in for my test 70 minutes after my appointment and check in time. I was greeted politely and professionally and the woman to performed the test was friendly and polite. 1. They sent me to the ER for an ultrasound (I could have had it done at Northeast radiology rather than going to a hospital emergency room. Physician One Urgent Care wrote the orders for the ultrasounds, but there was never any follow-through by the urgent care doctor, nor sis I find out the results of the test! 2. I had signs and symptoms of bronchitis. The receptionist told me to update my cart on-line while I sat in my car because I was symptomatic. Both my husband and I attempted to log in to the site that the receptionist had given me. I simply was not able to connect or log-in to the site. I went into the office twice to ask for assistance, and was told to keep trying. The second time I requested to update my paperwork using a paper form snd a pen. The receptionist responded, "We don't have time to transfer paperwork onto our computer." I was very frustrated and went back to my car. My husband then entered the office (by which time the room was crowded with patients) to inform the receptionist that we would be leaving. Physician One urgent Care charged my credit card fir the visit when I never even got beyond the lobby!! read more

The nurse practitioner was amazing. I went in for a concussion, which I got when I passed out the night before. She didn't like the sound of my lungs and ordered a chest X-ray, which showed a lung infection! It would have been very easy for her to just treat the concussion and move on to the next patient- especially when there were so many waiting. But she was not going to be hurried or dismissive. I told her I've been exhausted and under a lot of stress and that's why I passed out. But she didn't take that at face value and I am very grateful. And super impressed! She was thorough and tenacious and it paid off. There was a very long wait, but now I see why. It's worth waiting for care when you know the reason for the wait is that the provider is taking her time to do the job right. Who knows how long this infection would have gone untreated if she didn't take the time to find it. That said, the quality of service providers is solely dependent on the quality of the service provider - ie: the specific staff member you happen to get. I've had mixed experiences here, depending on the specific provider. And that keeps me from rating this organization with 5 stars. But I have been there many times for myself or my family and we will continue to go back. read more

Had to get stitches on knee at 6:45 pm. Called and they said they could do it. Drove 40 min out of the way got there and was instantly told they couldn't do it. It felt like the nurses couldn't care less and told me that's how it is. read more

Got tested 11/13 and still haven't gotten my results back. 10 days and 6 business days. I called the number looking for answers and the phone just kept ringing. Unacceptable. The PA that I saw was amazing. She listened to my concerns, understood them, and then addressed them. If I could just rate her I would give her 5 stars. That being said, Lisa at the front desk did not listen to me and told me she's been " doing this for 8 years so she knows what she is doing". I do not have a co-pay for urgent care walk-ins and I tried to tell her that. I even got a rep from Teamsters on the line and they faxed over a paper from the book repeating that. Lisa kept telling me that BCBS said it was a 80/20 split, but when it's Teamsters BCBS it's different. Lisa kept saying that she looked at it on the BCBS website. Again, it's different with Teamsters and she wouldn't listen to me. She was very rude and did not care. I still gave my credit card when she told me I would have to pay $17 and change because I'm sick and needed to be seen. Maybe I'm the first Teamsters BCBS carrier she's come across in 8 years? She could have called the number on the back to verify what I was saying but , nope. All she did was raise my blood pressure. read more

i waited over an hour to receive a covid test, will no information. i arrived about 4 minutes before my scheduled appointment. while i was waiting another patient took the liberty to tell me he had been waiting since 11:30, i arrived at 1:16 pm: part of patient care is communication, and consideration. at 2:10, exactly 50 minutes after my scheduled appointment - i inquired in order to see if my 50 minute wait could be contained to the next ten or not, so i asked if there was any predictable time for the text to be done. i was asked why i was getting a test, not given a sense of when they could do it. i left and will work with my dr directly. customer consideration and service must come back .... read more

Do NOT GO HERE! I had a cut on my hand and thought I might need stitches and went to see a doctor. The woman who saw me told me that had they'd known when I called on the phone to set an appt up that my cut happened a few days prior they would have told me that they could not service my issue because it was too late for stitches. My issue is when I am standing in front of a live person at the front desk of the clinic who should know this information and they take my money, send me to a doctor who tells me she can't help and "they should've known in the front to turn you away" and I get charged. I ask about the rationale behind this and they tell me "I know what you are right I will speak to my manager and someone will call you in a day". No one called after 3-4 days, I call back and again no one can speak and will call me back. Businesses like this are out to scam people for services shouldn't be allowed to be in business. I feel sorry for anyone who goes here and sorry for the staff that's getting a bad rep for a few incompetent managers. SHAKE MY HEAD!!!!!! read more

I've visited 3 times in the past, before name change to "Physician One." Care was fine each time, if a bit slow at times, otherwise acceptable. Three days ago, my wife was running a very high fever, and our internist wasn't immediately available, so off to Physician One. Dr. Cochall(sp?) saw her, after her history was taken by a pleasant-enough medical student. She diagnosed bronchitis, said she did not have pneumonia, and walked out. A staffer came back in to tell us an Rx for an antibiotic was sent to the pharmacy; we didn't see the Dr. again even though we had questions. That's when things went south... My wife took one dose of the antibiotic, and her temperature kept rising to a serious level. I called back and was told that "this sometimes happens after the first dose of antibiotic." I called a family member who is an NP and was told that is NOT very likely - BUT - for a bronchial bacterial infection, the antibiotic was dead wrong! AND, given her temperature (103+) more aggressive treatment was needed immediately, particularly IV fluids. Rushed to our MD in White Plains, and guess what? NOT bronchitis, they did a 5-minute test which confirmed she had influenza A - and, immediately called an ambulance. She was dangerously dehydrated, which Dr. Cochall didn't address. She's been in the hospital 3 days now and finally on the mend. If we had followed Dr. Cochall's diagnosis and treatment recommendation, she would have been in grave danger. I really really really wish we had looked at the previous Yelp reviews before this week. Don't go there. read more

Everyone - the receptionist, nurse and doctor did everything to make an unpleasant situation (i broke a bone) as pleasant as possible. They took me in quickly and I felt taken care of. I would go there again for sure. They also followed up with me a few weeks later to check in on me. Later on i needed a copy of my receipt for Aflac and they got it to me asap. When I realized I need medical attention for an allergic reaction I first called a different place who took over ten minutes to answer the phone. PhysicianOne answered before the second ring. When I arrived I had zero wait time and was treated immediately with so much attention. The entire process took less than 20 minutes. The team was so expedient and thoughtful. The facility was modern looking and clean and the staff was nice for the most part. A new hire took me back into a room and asked me some questions - then left me in the room for around 30 minutes. I understand if there is a wait time because it is an urgent care, however there were not any other patients that I could see and I was told by the woman that she was going to ask the doctor a question and she would be right back. Eventually another nurse came in and apologized for the wait - she was very nice and helpful. And I will be honest, I felt a little uncomfortable with the way I was handled by the doctor. I live in Danbury and despite other urgent care offices opening up closer, I still go to Brookfield because they have the nicest staff I have encountered in most any medical office I have gone to. The receptionist alone was so helpful and sweet to me and everyone she came in contact with despite being busy. Their wait times are short, the check in process easy. And the doctors and nurse practitioners are always down to earth and listen to you. I've never had a bad experience. The online check in is great, the one time I had to wait there was someone with a far more urgent problem than me which is totally understandable. I agree that if you need an ER, go to an ER. The last 2 times I saw nurse practitioners and was completely satisfied. read more

My wife was seen by Chris this past Monday. She was found to have a broken rib. She sent her home with no pain meds. Constant pain and two days later, our personal physician prescribed her pain meds. Finally she can sleep. Also, she can cough hard enough to expectorate. Of course after being diagnosed with pneumonia, via x-ray. This place is worthless. In the effort to cover their own butts, they wouldn't prescribe a woman in pain medication that would help her heal. I would not recommend this place to anyone who needs someone that cares read more

Went to the Brookfield Urgent Care , it was extremely busy and was told they were booked for the day which was expected with all that is going on I planned to return the next morning. The next day I got up early went down and stood in a line of about 40 people, when they opened they took us all in order and had us scan a QR code and gave us an approximate wait time of 6 hours. I waited the 5 hours it ended up being (in my car I slept most of the time) and then received a text to come in. When I was greeted inside everyone was very friendly and attentive even though they were extremely busy. I saw a nurse who took me to a room and went over my symptoms throughly and took my vitals ask my family history ect . I then was greeted by a PA who also took her time and was very Thorough. I never felt rushed what so ever. She did 3 tests on me without me even asking and everything was so comforting. I would much rather come to this practice than my regular dr who is also located in Brookfield. Thank you so much for having such a caring kind staff even in such crazy circumstances as with what is going on in today's world. ‍ read more

I will be calling the main office as soon as they are open tmrw, Monday. I'm sitting in the ER with my mom and this is due to the fact that the incompetence at this facility is nearly murderous. I specifically asked to see an MD and not a PA or NP. Of course when I arrived, a PA comes through to tell my mom she needed to take some over-the-counter meds for her extreme nausea. Wow he was wrong. I should have filed a complaint then and there but I didn't want to create a scene and decided to go home to cool down first. I called the office the next day as mom was still sick and still couldn't get a doctor. After making demands on the phone I finally spoke to the MD who was just as incompetent as the PA. The facility exists to churn patients and make money. They have no interest in alleviating symptoms or correct diagnosis. I wish I saved the money and just went straight to the ER where we could be seen by people who actually might care if people live or die. Atrocious. Please stay away from this facility and go to the ER instead - especially if it's a serious matter. They might be able to administer a flu shot but I would question even that. read more

DO NOT USE THIS URGENT CARE. VERY poor service. I called the West Hartford Physician One Urgent Care and they told me to bring my 94-year-old mom in to get tested for a urinary tract infection. I'm a small gal & have no family help. It is very hard for me to lug my mom's wheelchair in and out of my car. When we got to the Urgent Care, the APRN Rachel came to the lobby, refused to test my mom's urine, and told me to take her to the hospital. I exploded, and was livid. I told her that I had called in and the front desk advised me to bring my mom in. But, no amount of pleading would get this lady to just test my mom's urine. Mom and I were both very upset. I ultimately drove my mom back to an Avon urgent care, and they had no issues or concerns about testing her for a urinary tract infection. I will never never, never, never go back to the "physician one urgent care center" in West Hartford, CT. Their service and attitude are just horrible and uncaring. And, after today I have now injured my shoulder as a result of pulling my mom's wheelchair in and out of the car so many times, thanks to them. read more

Service was average when I visited, but then I was charged 2x for visit. They were paid through insurance for the visit, then charged my HSA. I realized about a month later, and called. The billing department is rude gives the impression that they really just don't care. I was told a refund would be issued to HSA card. A week later, no refund. I called again and the person was bit more rude this time. Response "it was done today" in a flat tone, like I was annoying her. I just took my wife to the Physicianone on Barnum Avenue in Stratford for a migraine headache which they say you treat. It was 6:30 and they are open till 8:00. I asked if they could give her fluids and was denied because they said it takes 4 to 5 hours. I responded that I have been to Bridgeport Hospital for the same condition and it took an hour. Then I asked to speak to the doctor and a female stood up and said she was the doctor and stated that it takes 4 to 5 hours and she was not going to have her staff stay till 10:00pm. Then the doctor said they didn't have a pump to give IV's or supplies. This is an urgent care facility are you kidding me? Oh by the way there was no one else in the facility. Just had my second visit here. The first was over Labor day weekend, I was treated by PA (older gentleman forgot his name). The second time was yesterday and I was treated by Dr. Sullivan. Both times I was seen nearly immediately. Made an appointment online and was seen within 5 minutes of arrival. The nurses, techs and front desk staff were all very nice. Both of the practitioners that treated me were lovely and had a great bedside manner. It's an excellent alternative to visiting my primary care physician, especially when it's a less concerning medical issue. read more
