Amazing! Two things that made our evening: 1. Tea pairing and 2. Service One of my girlfriends made reservations for dinner at Yam'Tcha about a month before our trip after seeing the episode of Chef's Table France on Netflix and we were impressed! We all went with the six course for dinner and tea pairing. The food was a delicious fusion of Asian and French flavors and the tea pairing was unlike anything we've had before. Each dish was paired with tea from all over Asia and we had each dish and tea personally explained to us by Chi Wah. Overall, we loved dining at Yam'Tcha and hope to come back with our families next time!

tldr; my favorite Asian fusion restaurant One of the most wonderful meals I've experienced. Yam'tcha is truly a special restaurant. As someone who recently finished French culinary school but grew up eating Chinese dishes, Chef Adeline's work was inspiring for someone who's trying to understand the intersection of Asian and French techniques and the dishes that can be created from those techniques. I made a reservation a few weeks in advance through a concierge. My lack of French speaking ability makes it difficult for me to get reservations anywhere, so that was the easiest way for me. I came for lunch on a weekday. The restaurant was actually fairly full for lunch service. Everyone here speaks English well and is super friendly. Since I was only visiting Paris, I decided to splurge and go for the extended tasting menu and I was not disappointed at all. Chef Grattard's dishes are a beautiful harmony of both Asian and French techniques. I eat a lot of Asian fusion in the states, and even our top restaurants there just don't compare. Asian fusion shouldn't I think obfuscate either of the cultures involved. The food here does a wonderful job highlighting how both cultures can be merged to create spectacular food. We started off with a corn pudding with caviar and a egg roll with a nice dark vinegar that already reminded me of what I typically get in French restaurants served next to a traditional Chinese dish. Next came some slices of tuna on top of an exquisite seaweed based sauce that I can't even begin to describe. After that was a lobster dish served with a variation of XO sauce, fish with truffles, a nice summer tomato noodle salad, and finally, some truffles with lamb. I found the dessert here to be exquisite as well. The portions were quite large and generous, and I left feeling very stuffed but thrilled at how delicious everything was. One of my favorite parts of Yam'tcha is that this is the first restaurant that I've ever been to that does a tea pairing! It's such a wonderful concept and I hope more restaurants will consider offering teas with their meal. Each tea I had was unique and exposed me to a different area in China. All in all, one of the best meals of my life and that was only lunch! I can't wait to come back to France and try this place again.

I just had a wonderful lunch menu with full tea service at Yam'Tcha. I accidentally got to the restaurant an hour early and the people in charge of seating didn't say anything, which says a lot about the service. They are professional, helpful and friendly. You can choose sparkling or flat water. They bring out vegetable chips. The best ones are the beet chips, although a bit greasy. 1st course: scallops, shrimp and sesame biscuit (thin), which was crunchy and then soft in the middle. The bottom part is a sort of bread crust which adds crunch. This comes with a beet salad and white grapefruit. The grapefruit wasn't very sweet (this may have been done on purpose I'm not sure), but it added a texture to that salade, which was soft with the beets. The scallops were very good. Accompanied with green oolong tea from Taiwan. 2nd dish: White tea from the Fujian province Ink fish with its (fried) vegetables. This course was a bit greasy, but tasty and served with a 'mantou', one of those white asian ball breads, which was surprisingly good, and very well presented. 3rd dish, which was my favorite: Sort of Chinese dumplings filled with pork, served on a plate with delicious miniature mushrooms and steamed white 'veggies' (I forget the name, they look like bean sprouts but are soft). Fuyu (fermented soy) sauce was served on top, which was absolutely amazing. There were also leaves of chiso leaves, which were interesting. This was served with a tea from "rocks" (roches), which makes the tea leaves vary from mineral to dry. Best tea of the meal. I was then offered cheese (if I wanted). 4th dish - dessert: quince eclair, which was delicious, also the pastry puff wasn't my favorite. There was cardamon powdered sugar, which I never had before and loved. The quince compote was delicious. The puff pastry of the eclair was not sweet, which perfectly balanced with the sweet 'crème de citron', candied orange zest and quince fruit. the 2nd desert was a vanilla, meringue and kiwi dish served in a small bowl. This was absolutely delicious. The shaved ice really tasted like kiwi, which surprised me. It really didn't taste last water at all. Accompanied were thin slices of dried yellow kiwi, adding a crunch to the dish. The cookie underneath the vanilla cream and meringue was ok but a little soft for my taste. It would have been good crunchy. It contained almond flour (which I enjoyed). Had the vanilla cream contained ginger or cardamon, I think I would have preferred it, but I still enjoyed it. The meringue was very good. I enjoyed both desserts very much. The dessert came with red tea from the same region (Fujian) Finally, I was served a chinese nougat -which was a bit too greasy, the sesame seeds weren't sticking to the nougat. The sesames were not toasted, so the flavor of the seeds wasn't very pronounced- and a coconut and chili pepper guimauve. I'm not a big guimauve person, but loved this bite of sweetness, with delicious coconut flour/powder (a bit like on sticky coconut desserts in other Asian restaurants) yum! I didn't taste the chili pepper at all. Will definitely be going back to Yam'Tcha. I could hear Chef Adeline in the kitchen, while eating. The entire staff knew the dishes very well. They were attentive and professional. The kitchen also has many windows, enabling anyone passing by in the street to see the chefs cooking, as well as people dining in a part of the restaurant.

It was unfortunate that all the servers, except the sommelier, were required to wear name tags. The roasted duck was very good. I found the Dim Sum menu was a bit smaller than I was expecting, but each taste was very good. And I was further surprised when the server placed salt and pepper on the table prior to the langoustine wonton soup. I believe that doing so changes the chef's design. But I will have to return soon. 2025 03 27. M1.

For a Michelin-starred restaurant, such a disappointment…read more Cantonese cuisine isn't my favorite, not even in my top five, but my wife loves it, so I took her here for her birthday. Let's start with the positives. The hotel is stunning and the restaurant is as well. They're also very flexible with reservations, so that cuts down on stress. The best parts of my meal were the complimentary appetizer of fried eggplant and candied walnuts, and the dessert, a sort of pudding made from mango and another fruit I don't recall the name of. Now to the downsides. I got their new fashioned cocktail, the spinach soup, and a tofu dish. The first was fine, if unremarkable, the second was bland, and the third was okay. But it wasn't just the flavor, the portions were also very small. And look, I get it, in any kind of haut dining, one can expect the portions to be small, but at this price? Which leads me to the cost. Through the roof. I believe my cocktail alone was about 20€, and hey, had it been the greatest old-fashioned-like drink I'd ever had, the price may have been warranted, but it wasn't. Everything on the menu is at least as much, but most dishes float around the 50€ area, with some individual dishes reaching nearly 100€. For the flavor and the portions, that's astronomical. But the final straw was the slow service. While getting our free appetizers and ordered ones didn't take that long, to be even asked if we were having dessert took at least ten minutes (I'm being very generous), but to actually be served our dessert once ordered? No less than half an hour. I don't know how long it actually takes to mash up some mango and scoop out some ice cream, but it can't possibly require that much precise skill. We were waiting so long that I was tempted to ask if they'd forgotten we'd ordered. The final insult was, after we'd paid and I'd gotten our coats, while I waited for my wife, the waiter made it very clear to me that he wanted me to leave into the hotel lobby. So let me get this straight. I hand you guys hundreds of euros for a tasteless, microscopic meal and the worst wait times I can remember and I can't wait for my wife inside the restaurant out of everyone's way? If you're a die-hard fan of Cantonese cuisine... go anywhere else.

Having been to Kazakhstan before for a work trip, I first approached the owners, Joe and Laurent, to see if they could make a traditional Kazakh meal, beshbarmak, even though it is not on the restaurant's regular menu. (Beshbarmak is a noodle dish with lamb and a Kazakh horse sausage). They readily agreed, but as it involves extra work, I promised to round up some people. Joe and Laurent were fantastic hosts. They prepared different menus for us because some wanted to try the beshbarmak, while others wanted the regular Russian/Central Asian menu, or a vegetarian option. Ultimately six people tried the beshbarmak, three went with the regular menu, and two chose a vegetarian option (which, by the way, is also on the regular menu). Everyone enjoyed the food, whether they ordered Kazakh or Russian dishes. For the starter, a contingent (including me) had the eggplant, tomato, and garlic appetizer, which was garlicky and delicious. One person enjoyed the restaurant's variation on a Russian favorite --herring under a fur coat--here made with salmon. The most popular choice for our group was the pirozhki (apparently the French transliteration is pirojki), which are beef and onion pastries. They quickly disappeared, along with the enticing potato and vegetable salad that accompanied them. For the main attraction, the beshbarmak eaters were all pleased. Two of us had eaten the dish while in Kazakhstan, and the rest were eager to try it. The chef, Joe, told us that the dish was homemade, including the noodles, and we had to eat everything fast before it became cold. We did! Although the portions are big, we just managed to finish our plates (although some needed a little help from their friends). The people who ordered from the regular menu were also happy with their choices, especially the manti. They looked delicious - juicy beef dumplings covered in red bell peppers. Finally, the vegetarians were also well treated, with hearty, flavorful potato dumplings with mushrooms. (After eating the beshbarmak, I finished my wife's dumplings, as she was full). As a group, we were unfortunately too full to order many desserts, but my wife and I split the napoléon, a mille feuille cake. As Joe and Laurent had learned over the course of the meal that the Kazakh-inspired gathering was also connected with my birthday, they kindly turned our dessert into a mini-birthday cake with a candle and also gave me a box of chocolates from Kazakhstan along with a book of beautiful pictures of the country. I should also say that Joe and Laurent have a fondness for Russian speakers. Fortunately, one of us actually speaks Russian and was able to charm them with a flawlessly recited poem, which Joe also knew by heart. As we had closed down the restaurant, they gave us a shot of vodka, turned on some Russian music, and even sang with us a bit before we left. All in all, everyone in the group had a wonderful evening, and we agreed that we would gladly go again. You should too!
