When you're in that line of business, of course she probably handles a lot of patients that are experiencing both pregnancy & teen sexuality. Though from my perspective... all medical patients should be treated individually (obviously) since no one individual has the same issue. She however, right from my first visit at thirteen was trying to prescribe birth control as a "preventative" even though I was very insistent that I was NOT sexually active nor did I plan to be for years to come. Years later as an adult, I shared that I had been sexually active at that point, she was more reserved on the issue of birth control. However, I started to complain about having terrible menstrual cramps & what does she recommend? "Well, actually, birth control can help facilitate with cramps" It's sad when my only memories of my gyno are of trying to aggressively push for the use of birth control without, in my opinion, actually listening to any problems with my body that I may have been experiencing at the time.

It's practically impossible to obtain an appointment with your primary care physician in a timely manner, always 6-9 months out! Now apparently you cannot be seen in the office for the same issue within a 2 week window. But after finding out they have 2,500 patients per doctor I will be finding a new primary care doctor. I am consistently rushed during appointments and not heard at all. Pushing more medication at me that I don't want, I want resolutions not the pain masked! I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS OFFICE TO ANYONE! I will however agree that Dr. Blu is absolutely amazing and it's a shame she's working at this office. One of the best recommendations ever especially since Cook was not part of the evil Sutter medical cartel. In the past, Dr. Sood and I as a patient had to go up against Sutter for going outside what the "Standard of Care" demanded, which has nothing to do with the patients health. Ok long preamble, but sets the stage. With Dr Cook you become a partner as to not only your medical care, but more importantly a partner in keeping you healthy, to where you don't need to see a doctor or go to the hospital, except for breaking a leg or other accidents. This knowledge that you, the individual, are in charge of your own health care, is non-existent inside the big medical institutions. Because of his care and acknowledging that I, the patient, have a say, is prolly one of the reasons I am as healthy as I am at my age. I know if I was subject to, or actually followed the advice, (God no) of Sutter, or Kaiser or any other major medical cartel it would be a different story. As an extra he personally calls to discuss results of blood test, MRI's, etc. So you might think this guy is right around the corner and easy for me to go to. Nope. At one time it was a 12 minute drive but years ago I moved and now it's about 1 hr 40 min drive 1 way if I catch good traffic. As  a doctor it's worth the drive.
