Went for my mom's birthday and they said they usually give out coconut pudding out for birthdays so they didn't give us anything, didn't even comp us for the coconut pudding. They didn't give us any extra. The coconut pudding was thick and not enjoyable to eat, focusing on the cuteness of it and how it can hold the shape. Got the 78 dollar peking duck course and there was enough meat for 4 buns and the rest on the bottom was just skin. I finally got my BESTIE in here with me!! It was time to pop our Yank Kee Dumpling cherries! When we arrived, it was packed! Everyone knew what was up... and this was it. Roseville's own dumpling spot to bring everyone together for that hot taste in town! As you walk in the doors, the waiting area is tiny. To your left, get on that iPad and put your name on the list. Better yet, you can add your name to the list through our awesome Yelp app! We were quoted a wait time of up to 30 minutes, but we only waited 10! The restaurant was very clean and I liked how there are large open windows near the front and down one side of the restaurant so that it allowed a lot of light to come in. It made it bright and warm inside. We sat in the back corner against the wall and we had a good view of the entire restaurant. Our server was Angelo. He greeted us and gave us plenty of time to check out the menu. We were there for the dumplings!! We started out with the cucumber salad. I was so impressed with the quality of the dumplings here. Everything came out piping hot and fresh. We got to enjoy the food while watching the dumplings being made through a giant glass window. The soup dumplings were amazing of course but I was also really impressed with the chive dumplings which are a favorite of mine. The egg tarts came out pleasantly warmed. One of the best dumpling places I've been to in a long time. Everything is made to order and the dumplings are tasty as heck!!! There are no dimsum carts going around. You put in your order and the server brings it to the kitchen and your dumpling is made fresh!!! The was my second time visiting and the food has been excellent during both visits. The chow mein had lots of chicken that was tender and cooked well. The noodles weren't too greasy and had good flavor. For the beef dish, the meat was very tender and plentiful. The dish also included a good amount of vegetables, including asparagus, onions, peppers, and onions. The service was on point as well and our server refilled our waters periodically. After our hike at Beale Falls, we stopped here for a late lunch. We ordered the pork soup dumplings (not pictured), a sampler of soup dumplings with pork, crab, truffle, and shrimp, the pan fried pork baos, garlic string beans, and the baked salted egg custard bao. The soup dumplings were all delicious, each with its own distinct broth. I especially enjoyed the pan fried baos, which had a nicely crisped bottom that added great texture. The garlic string beans were a bit disappointing as they were too salty and included a mix of tender and tougher, more mature beans, making some bites harder to enjoy. The baked salted egg custard bao was good, but it felt more like a dessert and would have been better served at the end of the meal rather than at the beginning. First time here after driving by this place numerous times over the years since we live in Elk Grove. Place was packed inside at 11:15, nobody seated outside though even though weather was pleasant. The inside was relatively spacious with a beautiful wall mural of birds and flowers. You can watch employees through a glass window hand form wontons and dumplings, similar to what Din Tai Fung. All the staff in the kitchen wore masks and gloves; such a pleasant sight! After being seated we were greeted by a friendly waiter named Angelo who was patient, professional and polite. We decided to order something we don't normally get at traditional dim sum houses, so we got the pan fried chive dumplings and the won ton noodle soup (which are made on premises). Let's just say, the wifey and I were thoroughly impressed with the quality and presentation of both dishes. The wonton skin was thin, smooth and silky; noodles were light and not "doughy"with a light snap. You can taste the freshness of this bowl of goodness. As for the chive dumplings, the pouch was shaped like a triangle (different than most purse shaped ones) and the filling was tasty with the pork and shrimp combo. Skin was also thin and not doughy; excellent! LThe bowl that came with the dumplings is edible in case you wanted something thin and crispy as a snack! Overall a great lunch, however, be prepared to pay a bit more for items similar to those in standard dim sum houses, but it's worth it if you're about quality food and presentation....and NO MSG!! They also have a location in Davis and will be opening a third location at, you guessed it...Elk Grove in a couple of weeks. My second visit within 8 weeks, yesterday on 07/03/'26, did not disappoint. Aside from one other Chinese restaurant closer to Galleria Blvd, but with a different focus, specialties and ambience, Yang Kee on Eureka Rd. is only one of three most Chinese overseas authentic menu fare in all of Roseville and beyond, no American white redneck compromising. no pandering to the culturally limited American palates. Yang Kee's menu and preparation is closest to the more food sophisticated cities in Chinese provinces. I enjoy sitting where I can see a very clean, well run wide glass view of the kitchen. The overall lighting is enhanced by huge glass windows providing natural outdoor light without any intensity of heat penetrating sunlight. There is a wall with a horizontal sweep of an original artist signed panel with calm, cheerful yet soft palettes of color. Service is subtle yet consistently amiable. Other places serve dim sum but with cafeteria ambience. Other restaurants also claim to serve dim sum, but the sum total experience is not the same. This time I enjoyed the Chef's Special featuring two different preparations of duck and price may seem high but the portions are ample. I plan to go back again and again. read more

My beautiful wife is American Born Chinese and we love dim sum. We have had dim sum in a lot of places in the Bay Area, including Fremont and San Francisco. I will have to say that Yang Kee makes some of the freshest and best Dim Sum in Northern California. The quality of service, the ability to see the cooks preparing food and an inviting and contemporary atmosphere added to a great experience. The price was a bit higher than what we normally pay for dim sum, but the quality, atmosphere, and proximity to Roseville made it well worth it. Even still for myself, my wife, and my three boys it only came out to about $150. And my boys can eat it lot of dim sum.. I've stopped in for take-out before and on my recent visit I decided to dine in. The team here was immediately welcoming and friendly and was able to seat me right away. The menu has a good variety of options and I love the layout of the menu where it's easy to read and has photos, but still feels like an upscale menu. The presentation was great for each dish and they came out fresh and steaming hot. The portions were also a good size, and my order could easily feed 2-3 people comfortably. These dishes are definitely meant for sharing, so I'd encourage you to come with friends or family so you can order multiple items and try a little of each. Super popular restaurant with an hour+ wait on some days. On our way back from our road trip, my friend suggested dinner at Yang Kee Dumpling in Roseville. (I believe they have another location in Davis.) I got on their Yelp page and noticed they have a long wait list, so got on right away while we were around one hour away. By the time we pulled into the restaurant's parking lot, we were near the top of the list. We waited maybe another 15-20 minutes more and got seated. Food was great. Yang Kee serves up very good Chinese food. Don't miss the pork and truffle soup dumplings, dry chow fun, stir fried green beans, and cucumber salad. Service was very efficient and friendly. It was neat to see the staff hand making the dumplings next to the dining area. The restaurant isn't too big and gets very busy, so reservations are a good idea. came here for the 1st time and will be returning to brings fam/friends! we got the mixed soup dumplings, siu mai, green beans and baked pork bun. all were great tasting, especially the baked pork bun! bread was so soft and had the top crispy layer with plenty of meat inside! definitely getting that again. came on a monday when they opened, got busy around 11:45/12! lots of parking and service was nice. read more
