Great food and great service! We had to wait about 10 minutes for a table for 4. Be aware waiting area is super tiny, so best if you can make reservations. Our server was sweet and attentive, and accommodating to all requests. We ordered a lot of food, and the tables aren't that big for family-style dining. I'd say that was the only negative. But the staff were helpful with clearing out plates and making room with each new dish brought out. We got the "peking duck" special, house fried rice, house pan fried noodles, and XLB sample platter. Everything was delicious! The rice and the noodles had so much flavor. The roast duck had nice thin crispy skin and soup also had a flavorful broth. I loved every kind of XLB, the original pork was my favorite, but also the truffle had a great unique flavor. XLB - we got the variety and they were all delicious, juicy with soup and well seasoned. green beans- solid dan dan noodles - my husband's choice, has a good kick and fine. custard buns - the salted egg yolk one was everyone's favorite. baked bbq pork bun - tasty, and the kids loved it. overall a solid meal. everyone ate well. I finally got to try this highly rated restaurant that has been on my list forever! I highly recommend putting your party on the Yelp waitlist queue since the wait was pretty long on the weekend. The moment we walk in, I was greeted by a friendly worker who then took us to our table in a timely matter. There were so many big rounded tables with white clothes and booths along the side of the restaurant, which made it feel upscale and spacious. Our waiter was very attentive and efficient, and ensured we had all of our needs met. The food came out extremely fast and it was so delicious! My favorite was the Honey Walnut Shrimp but I would get this entire order again. Their menu is so intricate and diverse I definitely want to come again to try their other items. On our first time here, we ordered quite a few dishes. And we got them to go for food we can't finish. We had black pepper fish fillets, honey walnut shrimp, variety soup dumplings, steamed rice, variety baked buns, and bunny coconut puddings. We're satisfied with their fish and shrimp. They're really not oily and overly salty, which is our preference. The pudding is very cute, my toddler son loves it. The buns were good to reheat on the second day. When we visit my brother, we always eat at Yang Kee. Make sure to make a reservation bc otherwise you might be waiting 1.5 hours! But it is definitely worth the wait. When we finally sat down, the server came right away and as soon as we ordered, the food came out instantly! I've never had food come out so fast after ordering. The service was not only quick but they were all very nice as well. We got two orders the xlb, which were nice and juicy! We also order shu mai which game with the fish roe on top. You know it is a good place when it has the fish roe! Also, the mapo tofu, Hong Kong style chow mein which I think they call the crispy pan fried noodles, cucumber salad, and pan fried pork and chive dumpling. Everything was ao delicious. Outstanding food & service. I got here at opening time at 4:30 PM and was seated right away. I had an order of steamed Steamed BBQ Pork Bao and an order of Dry Fry Chow Fun. For the Dry Fry Chow Fun, I had a combination of both beef and shrimp. Both the beef and the shrimp were cooked perfectly and we're both very tasty and tender.. Kenson L what's my server and he was outstanding as well. The atmosphere is very pleasant and the noise it's not a factor at all. There is nice, gentle music playing in the background. There is glass in front of the kitchen if someone were to want to take a look at what's going on in the back area. There are multiple tables for seating of four persons each which can easily be put together for larger groups. I've eaten here multiple times, but this will be the first time. They sell jars to take home for $10 so ofc I copped one at the end of our meal. As for the food, portion size is big and meant to share. Pork soup dumpling 5/5: I'd say the pork soup dumplings rival Din Tai Fung. No notes. Beef 5/5: so flavorful and black peppery, the beef was tender and not chewy at all. I kept eating it even when I was so full Green beans 4/5: they were good, crunchy with a garlicky taste. They are a great side dish Yang Kee Fried Rice 3/5: decent rice dish with sizable shrimp that was juicy and moist. This has become one of my favorite spots because everything I've tried has been consistently delicious. If it's your first visit, here are my must-order dishes: Baked Pork Buns - These are AMAZING. The outside has a lightly crispy, sweet coating while the inside is soft and filled with flavorful pork. You get three, and I could easily eat every single one myself. Chow Mein - My favorite chow mein in the area. I don't know what magic they put into these noodles, but they always hit the spot. I've had the chicken version and it's fantastic. Pork Soup Dumplings - Packed with rich, savory broth and well-seasoned pork. My kids absolutely love these. Garlic Green Beans - Don't skip these! Yes... they're green beans, but they're perfectly crisp, loaded with garlic, and surprisingly addictive. Ask for extra garlic if you're a fellow garlic lover. Black Pepper Fish Fillet - One of my favorite dishes on the menu. Crispy fish bites tossed in a light black pepper sauce with just the right amount of flavor. If you enjoy fish, this is a must-order. Shumai - A great little side to round out your meal. The restaurant does get busy during lunch and dinner, so be prepared for a wait during peak hours. It's absolutely worth it, though. I finally got my BESTIE in here with me!! It was time to pop our Yank Kee Dumpling cherries! When we arrived, it was packed! Everyone knew what was up... and this was it. Roseville's own dumpling spot to bring everyone together for that hot taste in town! As you walk in the doors, the waiting area is tiny. To your left, get on that iPad and put your name on the list. Better yet, you can add your name to the list through our awesome Yelp app! We were quoted a wait time of up to 30 minutes, but we only waited 10! The restaurant was very clean and I liked how there are large open windows near the front and down one side of the restaurant so that it allowed a lot of light to come in. It made it bright and warm inside. We sat in the back corner against the wall and we had a good view of the entire restaurant. Our server was Angelo. He greeted us and gave us plenty of time to check out the menu. We were there for the dumplings!! We started out with the cucumber salad. It is cucumber chunks with garlic, nuts, and cilantro tossed in a soy sauce, sesame oil and rice wine vinegar mixture. It was garnished thinly shredded carrots. There was a lot of garlic, but it was very good! We also ordered the Yan Kee Soup Dumplings. This is like a sampler of the soup dumplings that they offer - 2 Pork Soup Dumplings - 2 Crab Pork Soup Dumplings - 2 Shrimp Loofa Pork Soup Dumplings - 2 Black Truffle Pork Soup Dumplings After trying the shrimp pork dumpling, we moved onto the crab pork soup dumpling and... after biting the top off, it smelled off... like bad, but I thought maybe it tasted better than it smells... nope! It tasted like ammonia! That means the crab or pork in that particular dumpling was bad!! My BESTIE said hers was good, but we stopped eating until our server could make his way back. It took Angelo a while to get back to us, but when he did, he said he would replace that dumpling with one of what we liked. We thought he was grabbing us a replacement dumpling... he actually brought us a whole order of dumplings! He was really sweet and apologetic about the spoiled dumpling that I ate. They didn't give us any extra. The coconut pudding was thick and not enjoyable to eat, focusing on the cuteness of it and how it can hold the shape. Got the 78 dollar peking duck course and there was enough meat for 4 buns and the rest on the bottom was just skin. One of the best dumpling places I've been to in a long time. Everything is made to order and the dumplings are tasty as heck!!! There are no dimsum carts going around. You put in your order and the server brings it to the kitchen and your dumpling is made fresh!!! Has the best dumpling soup and Cha siu bao which has a soft and very light texture and of course it tasted amazing as well!!! We had a party of 7 and didn't wait long for a table, which already felt like a win. The was my second time visiting and the food has been excellent during both visits. The chow mein had lots of chicken that was tender and cooked well. The noodles weren't too greasy and had good flavor. For the beef dish, the meat was very tender and plentiful. The dish also included a good amount of vegetables, including asparagus, onions, peppers, and onions. The service was on point as well and our server refilled our waters periodically. My beautiful wife is American Born Chinese and we love dim sum. We have had dim sum in a lot of places in the Bay Area, including Fremont and San Francisco. I will have to say that Yang Kee makes some of the freshest and best Dim Sum in Northern California. The quality of service, the ability to see the cooks preparing food and an inviting and contemporary atmosphere added to a great experience. The price was a bit higher than what we normally pay for dim sum, but the quality, atmosphere, and proximity to Roseville made it well worth it. Even still for myself, my wife, and my three boys it only came out to about $150. And my boys can eat it lot of dim sum.. First time here after driving by this place numerous times over the years since we live in Elk Grove. Place was packed inside at 11:15, nobody seated outside though even though weather was pleasant. The inside was relatively spacious with a beautiful wall mural of birds and flowers. You can watch employees through a glass window hand form wontons and dumplings, similar to what Din Tai Fung. All the staff in the kitchen wore masks and gloves; such a pleasant sight! After being seated we were greeted by a friendly waiter named Angelo who was patient, professional and polite. We decided to order something we don't normally get at traditional dim sum houses, so we got the pan fried chive dumplings and the won ton noodle soup (which are made on premises). Let's just say, the wifey and I were thoroughly impressed with the quality and presentation of both dishes. The wonton skin was thin, smooth and silky; noodles were light and not "doughy"with a light snap. You can taste the freshness of this bowl of goodness. As for the chive dumplings, the pouch was shaped like a triangle (different than most purse shaped ones) and the filling was tasty with the pork and shrimp combo. Skin was also thin and not doughy; excellent! LThe bowl that came with the dumplings is edible in case you wanted something thin and crispy as a snack! Overall a great lunch, however, be prepared to pay a bit more for items similar to those in standard dim sum houses, but it's worth it if you're about quality food and presentation....and NO MSG!! They also have a location in Davis and will be opening a third location at, you guessed it...Elk Grove in a couple of weeks. Once we sat down the menu featured so many yummy looking items,there is no way to try em all in one visit,so we decided to go with Dumpling Noodle Soup ($17.95) Pork Fried Rice ($17.95) Garlic Noodle ($14.95) Sautéed Green Beans ($16.95) Pork Soup Dumplings ($16.95) I generally try to pick out an item that was the star of the show when I make these reviews,but that's very tough to do here because all 5 items were dynamite,the flavor profiles were on point with all the items,I wouldn't hesitate to do this exact order next time I go to this restaurant.If I had to choose a star,it's between the Pork Soup Dumplings and the Sautéed Garlic Green Beans-great stuff on both accounts. I've stopped in for take-out before and on my recent visit I decided to dine in. The team here was immediately welcoming and friendly and was able to seat me right away. The menu has a good variety of options and I love the layout of the menu where it's easy to read and has photos, but still feels like an upscale menu. This is definitely a great spot for a date, meeting, or celebration. Not only did the menus look really nice, the tables have linen, and the staff are very attentive. I ordered the Shumai ($9.50), Wonton Chili Oil ($14.50), Garlic Sautéed Green Beans ($15.50), and Mixed Creamy Lava Bao ($9.25). The presentation was great for each dish and they came out fresh and steaming hot. The portions were also a good size, and my order could easily feed 2-3 people comfortably. These dishes are definitely meant for sharing, so I'd encourage you to come with friends or family so you can order multiple items and try a little of each. I enjoyed all the dishes, and I'm slowly working through the menu as I visit more. The parking lot is busy, but there seems to be plenty of parkin available. With the great service, tasty food, and amount of space, it's a great option when you're craving dim sum, dumplings, or noodles. read more

Super popular restaurant with an hour+ wait on some days. On our way back from our road trip, my friend suggested dinner at Yang Kee Dumpling in Roseville. (I believe they have another location in Davis.) I got on their Yelp page and noticed they have a long wait list, so got on right away while we were around one hour away. By the time we pulled into the restaurant's parking lot, we were near the top of the list. We waited maybe another 15-20 minutes more and got seated. Food was great. We tasted the following: *garlic noodle + beef - delicious, very garlicky and beef was tender *sautéed green beans - another delicious dish with snappy beans. *pork soup dumplings - this one is surprisingly good. Soupy and rivals some of the better xlbs in the Bay Area. *wonton in chili oil - yummy and deliciously spicy. *pork chive dumplings - by the time this came to our table, we were already full, but we tasted one and it was delicious too with lots of chives.
