    Shrimp & Pork Soup Dumpling
    Ursula O.

I finally got my BESTIE in here with me!! It was time to pop our Yank Kee Dumpling cherries! When we arrived, it was packed! Everyone knew what was up... and this was it. Roseville's own dumpling spot to bring everyone together for that hot taste in town! As you walk in the doors, the waiting area is tiny. To your left, get on that iPad and put your name on the list. Better yet, you can add your name to the list through our awesome Yelp app! We were quoted a wait time of up to 30 minutes, but we only waited 10! The restaurant was very clean and I liked how there are large open windows near the front and down one side of the restaurant so that it allowed a lot of light to come in. It made it bright and warm inside. We sat in the back corner against the wall and we had a good view of the entire restaurant. Our server was Angelo. He greeted us and gave us plenty of time to check out the menu. We were there for the dumplings!! We started out with the cucumber salad. It is cucumber chunks with garlic, nuts, and cilantro tossed in a soy sauce, sesame oil and rice wine vinegar mixture. It was garnished thinly shredded carrots. There was a lot of garlic, but it was very good! We also ordered the Yan Kee Soup Dumplings. This is like a sampler of the soup dumplings that they offer - 2 Pork Soup Dumplings - 2 Crab Pork Soup Dumplings - 2 Shrimp Loofa Pork Soup Dumplings - 2 Black Truffle Pork Soup Dumplings After trying the shrimp pork dumpling, we moved onto the crab pork soup dumpling and... after biting the top off, it smelled off... like bad, but I thought maybe it tasted better than it smells... nope! It tasted like ammonia! That means the crab or pork in that particular dumpling was bad!! My BESTIE said hers was good, but we stopped eating until our server could make his way back. It took Angelo a while to get back to us, but when he did, he said he would replace that dumpling with one of what we liked. We thought he was grabbing us a replacement dumpling... he actually brought us a whole order of dumplings! He was really sweet and apologetic about the spoiled dumpling that I ate. Both the Black Truffle Pork and regular Pork soup Dumplings were our favorites.... topped with that chili oil of course... That chili oil... is FIRE!!!! They sell it in a small unique looking jar. I was tempted to get it, but I already have some... from a competitor and it is just as delicious. It's really nice to know I can come here and get some when I run out. We also shared an order our chow main and added chicken to it. These were thin noodles, with green onions, red onions, and bean sprouts. It was a little on the drier side, but I liked it! Our server, Angelo was amazing! We are big fans of Yan Kee Dumpling.. but if I'm being honest, I will never try their crab pork dumpling again.

I was so impressed with the quality of the dumplings here. Everything came out piping hot and fresh. We got to enjoy the food while watching the dumplings being made through a giant glass window. The soup dumplings were amazing of course but I was also really impressed with the chive dumplings which are a favorite of mine. The egg tarts came out pleasantly warmed. Our waitress was lovely and even talked to us a bit after the meal engaging my daughter too. I loved that I got to see the staff enjoying a meal as they closed before dinner service. My daughter also loved the giant mural painted on their accent wall. We will return to this spot for sure.

Always an enjoyable meal at Yang Kee. One of our favorite spots in Roseville. Pleasant dinning room with real table cloth and friendly helpful staff. The food is always fresh and hot . Quick service but you don't feel rushed . Stay and have a leisure meal or eat and go. The dumplings never disappoint!

Service was very good and quick. Ambience was marginal... too noisy for me. It is hard to palette good food when kids are unattended by parents. Our table legs were not leveled and that became irritating. That is such an easy fix for a restaurant. The food was very good. The shrimp loofa pork soup dumplings were da bomb! The har gow shrimp dumplings had very large and perfectly steamed shrimp. I loved the green beans except there was an abundance of oil on them - a bit too oily. The place followed the trend of "cooks wrapping the dumplings behind a glass window". Fun to watch. I would return, but hoping for a less noisy dinner next time.

Super fast with food delivery. They are on it! Very friendly server. Loved the cucumber salad and the truffle soup dumpling was also tasty. Buzzing restaurant that is clean and has a pretty mural on one wall. Also fun to see the chefs working through the glass. Hits the spot if you like this kind of food.

Reservations made via Yelp. First-timer at Yang Kee in Roseville for a belated Lunar New Year dinner. Happy Year of the Fire Horse 2026! All shared family-style: Pork Soup Dumplings Yang Chow Fried Rice HK Shumai Salt and Pepper Spareribs Everything we tried was great, especially the spareribs. At my next visit maybe I'll go for noodles, wontons, and/or baos! Cool to know they have a location in Davis too, and I think I saw one sign go up near the border of South Sac/Elk Grove (https://whatnow.com/sacramento/restaurants/yang-kee-dumpling-to-open-spinoff-concept-in-sacramento-suburbs-this-fall/).

One of the best dumpling places I've been to in a long time. Everything is made to order and the dumplings are tasty as heck!!! There are no dimsum carts going around. You put in your order and the server brings it to the kitchen and your dumpling is made fresh!!! Has the best dumpling soup and Cha siu bao which has a soft and very light texture and of course it tasted amazing as well!!! The staff were very friendly and helpful but you have to start talking to them first. They were not receptive when we first walked in. The decor is simple yet there was a beautiful work of art on the wall! Will definitely be back and try more dishes but it's best if there's more than 4 of you so you can order a lot!

The was my second time visiting and the food has been excellent during both visits. The chow mein had lots of chicken that was tender and cooked well. The noodles weren't too greasy and had good flavor. For the beef dish, the meat was very tender and plentiful. The dish also included a good amount of vegetables, including asparagus, onions, peppers, and onions. The service was on point as well and our server refilled our waters periodically. Whenever we requested anything, such as napkins and extras ginger, he was very quick to get it done. The ambiance was delightful and I like how you can see the kitchen, which seemed sanitary and everyone wore masks when preparing the food.

The feast for seven people. More than enough.

What a feast. First time. Came here with my coworkers on a Thursday for a slightly middle of the lunch rush, but honestly not bad at all. We had a party of 7 and didn't wait long for a table, which already felt like a win. Didn't see any empty tables which was a great sign, not overly loud either considering there were plenty of large parties. Our eyes were clearly hungrier than our stomachs because we ordered a lot. Veggie dumplings - Didn't get a chance to try them but the green wrapper was appealing to the eye. Veggie fried rice - Solid choice. Great veggie-to-rice ratio and not overly seasoned. Sometimes fried rice can be heavy. Happy this wasn't. Garlic noodles - def a crowd favorite. The noodles had that perfect bounce and chew and the flavor was there. Beef chow fun - hit the spot. Exactly what I was craving cause my coworkers talked about it. Veggie chow fun - also good. And I don't know what it is about their broccoli, massive haha Wontons in chili oil - My top dish. The wrapper texture was on point and not your typical wonton shape, which I liked. Peanuts sprinkled on top was an interesting touch. I could live without it, but it didn't ruin the dish. Hong Kong style noodles - very generous portion. No complaints. Cucumber salad - very generous too. Def refreshing but just okay. I would pass on this. Yang Kee Dumplings - sampler platter of their soup dumplings; 2 each. I forget which ones I tried but I wish the wrapper was a bit more thin with more soup as well. It may be because it was one of the last items I tried but it felt a bit tough to chew. I'd get it again. The food came out fast. I was low-key impressed how they stacked the plates. Service was good. Water refills stayed consistent. Walked away with leftovers, a handful of fortune cookies, and a full-on Yang Kee food coma. Would definitely come back hungry.

I have been to this place 4 times and always enjoyed the food. I get mapo tofu every time I go and never disappoints. I tried the chicken garlic noodles and it's good but on the sweeter side, not as garlicky (I wished I could taste it more). The spicy wontons is another good dish with the peanuts. It's more sichuan flavor than spicy/chili. The service is quick and friendly

After our hike at Beale Falls, we stopped here for a late lunch. We ordered the pork soup dumplings (not pictured), a sampler of soup dumplings with pork, crab, truffle, and shrimp, the pan fried pork baos, garlic string beans, and the baked salted egg custard bao. The soup dumplings were all delicious, each with its own distinct broth. I especially enjoyed the pan fried baos, which had a nicely crisped bottom that added great texture. The garlic string beans were a bit disappointing as they were too salty and included a mix of tender and tougher, more mature beans, making some bites harder to enjoy. The baked salted egg custard bao was good, but it felt more like a dessert and would have been better served at the end of the meal rather than at the beginning. Overall, it is a solid spot, and I am looking forward to their third location opening near Elk Grove.

First time here after driving by this place numerous times over the years since we live in Elk Grove. Place was packed inside at 11:15, nobody seated outside though even though weather was pleasant. The inside was relatively spacious with a beautiful wall mural of birds and flowers. You can watch employees through a glass window hand form wontons and dumplings, similar to what Din Tai Fung. All the staff in the kitchen wore masks and gloves; such a pleasant sight! After being seated we were greeted by a friendly waiter named Angelo who was patient, professional and polite. We decided to order something we don't normally get at traditional dim sum houses, so we got the pan fried chive dumplings and the won ton noodle soup (which are made on premises). Let's just say, the wifey and I were thoroughly impressed with the quality and presentation of both dishes. The wonton skin was thin, smooth and silky; noodles were light and not "doughy"with a light snap. You can taste the freshness of this bowl of goodness. As for the chive dumplings, the pouch was shaped like a triangle (different than most purse shaped ones) and the filling was tasty with the pork and shrimp combo. Skin was also thin and not doughy; excellent! LThe bowl that came with the dumplings is edible in case you wanted something thin and crispy as a snack! Overall a great lunch, however, be prepared to pay a bit more for items similar to those in standard dim sum houses, but it's worth it if you're about quality food and presentation....and NO MSG!! They also have a location in Davis and will be opening a third location at, you guessed it...Elk Grove in a couple of weeks. But a little bird told me it'll be more take out style and no real show of prepping food in the back. Regardless, we'll give it a try!

Are you open on Thanksgiving Day?

    Yes

    Can order dumplings anytime?

    Yep.

Normally, I hit up Yue Huang, but lately it's been giving "long wait, mild heartbreak." So I decided to branch out and found this hidden gem in Granite Bay...and let me tell you...BEST decision. You walk in and BAM!!!! Old school Chinese restaurant vibes. Red booths, classic decor, slightly run down in that "if these walls could talk, they'd recommend everything on the menu" kind of way. And if you know, you KNOW...that's when the food is about to slap. We came with a mission (aka hungry and slightly unhinged) and ordered: baked BBQ pork buns, shumai, har gow, shrimp rice rolls, pineapple baked custard buns, fried shrimp balls, and soup dumplings. Basically, if it could be steamed, fried, or stuffed...we said yes. It's clearly family run, which I love. Mom is running the show like a boss, kids are hustling, and since it was Mother's Day...CHAOS. Delicious chaos. Food flying out, servers holding trays of dumplings like treasures, stopping at your table and you're like "YES, THIS IS MY MOMENT"...and then they walk away to another table. Emotional rollercoaster. So many "Ooooh yay!" followed by "Ohhh man..." But honestly? It just built the suspense. Then OUR food arrived...and our eyes went WIDE. These dumplings are HUGE. Like, "one bite? absolutely not" huge. The BBQ pork buns were soft, fluffy, slightly sweet clouds of happiness. Har gow and shrimp rice rolls were perfectly steamed (no soggy sadness here ). Now, because it was busy, the shrimp had a bit of a split personality...some bites were perfectly snappy and delicious, others were just a little overcooked. Not tragic, just not living their absolute best life. But overall? Everything was GOOD. And then the check came...about $60 for ALL that food. I almost checked it twice like, "Ma'am...are you sure you charged me correctly?" Because that is a STEAL. What really got me though was the family. You could see the hustle, the stress, the love...all happening in real time. Even in the chaos, they were kind, smiling, and apologizing for the wait. That kind of heart hits different. Final verdict: great food, great value, and a whole lot of love. I'll definitely be back to try more of their main dishes. Until next dumpling craving...

I've tried the dumplings boiled, steamed, and pan fried. The boiled ones are slippery and best when I'm in the mood to have them swirled in a sauce like hot chili oil. Streamed ones have a slight chew to the dumpling exterior than the boiled or fried dumplings. But doesn't take away from the taste. Pan fried is good when you want a crispier exterior and slight crunch. Whatever way you order 'em... it's all good! The egg custards, sesame balls, and crab rangoons are classic and my other go tos. I enjoy the diversity of the menu. Gotta confess, in Folsom there is not a lot of these good authentic dumpling places. Plus throw in some dim sum items...score! Is it Michelin star, no.
