They have a couple of large parking lots there to stash your vehicle while visiting. One of the main entrances is right past one of the Tinley Park fire stations. Many paved trails to walk around the lake, with a high route and a low route to vary up the scenery. On the high elevation they have a number of picnic tables and the like for those that want to have a meal. They also have a large playground there for the kids to keep busy while the parents chill. The lower route is mainly for jogging and walking ... although you'll find a lot of bikes in the area also. At the other end you'll find baseball and soccer fields, skateboard, and basketball too. They also have a little dock off which you can fish. Be forewarned - no dogs allowed, which is good for some people and not so much for others. This is a sort of difficult kind of place to find, but that keeps it a treasure.

I really enjoyed my evening out it was restful and gave me a sense of calm even though this is in the the middle of a really busy suburb. Didn't hear any cars, horns, sirens or anything like that. It includes a pavilion for cooking out, a basketball Court, room for practicing your golf swing, horseshoes, and a nice playground. This park has two sets of playground equipment for children ... one each for the different age groups. There are also fenced-in tennis courts for those that play that sport, and the courts have the added attraction of being lined out for pickleball games. This is a great park for all to use ... and it is close by in the neighborhood. Try it ...

Great little park just off Haven Avenue and 167th Street in Orland Hills. This is a pretty…read moreextensive park with a winding walking track that spans two sides of the street, a number of baseball fields, a football area with goal posts, a playground for kids with all the usual slides and Jungle Jims, a large wetlands/lake area around which the track winds behind neighbors backyards, and a large recreation center under roof ... with another even bigger one going up next to it. This review is mainly for the walking track areas. One walking area is around the large wetland lake that goes up to 167th Street ... and if you follow it, you'll circle the lake going behind a number of homes that line the wetlands. Offshoots of that circle track take one on a number of paved paths behind other homes and to other entrance/exits to the walking tracks. One of the paths takes you across Haven Avenue onto another walking track unlike the first. This other track is mostly a boardwalk circling another wetlands behind peoples homes. But the boardwalk also spends a lot of walking time vaulting over water, so the walker gets to see a lot of nature on the path. This is really the special part of the walking areas as it is not like anything you'll find around these areas. If you walk it at night or during Halloween you'll get the creeps for sure. Neat area. All in all Kelly Park is really a gem out here in Orland Hills. If you have the chance, do go visit. They even have street parking or a lot for your car while you visit.

Of all the things the Cook County Forest Preserve did over the years, preserving thousands of acres for the enjoyment of the people is probably the number one benefit. This is a delightful little trail head that leads to others. This one is called Catalina Grove and it is listed as a family picnic area. It also has a walking trail that hooks up to many others in the area. As part of a much larger system, if you begin here, you can walk or bike for miles...even over to the trails in Tinley Park and Chicago Heights. There is adequate parking here for your car. Since this is one in a number of starting points, this is really an out and back point in your walk/hike. Unless you have a bike and intend on going miles, this place is not a circular route that will bring you back to the start. Bring water and be prepared for a nifty jaunt through the south suburbs. Give this place a try and you'll be pleasantly surprised.

This is not a good playground for small children as most of it is tailored toward Kids not toddlers and the slides that are there are too quick and somewhat dangerous for small little ones. The park is decorated "freedom" style as the name suggests and has real sized piece of a train and tank for decoration along with everything being red white and blue. A big downside is it was littered with trash- water bottles, fast food cups, fast food bags, straws- it was a mess all over especially around the playground

This…read morepark has almost a one square block of fields where soccer games are played, mostly the recreational soccer games organized by the Parks & Rec Department of Orland Park ... but anyone is allowed to come on the fields and play, when not reserved for the organized teams. Our daughter played here in the large Kiddie Clinic Soccer program where they teach young kids the game. Great fun. Nice long ramp that leads up to the slides plenty of room for the kids to run. A little bit of tree cover (shade can be an issue) but, not a ton. Really close to the street (not a very busy one) and the kids aren't exactly "corralled" in. Neither of these are enough of a concern to avoid it. Check it out.
