Had a late lunch with a party of 4 and 2 dogs. We were able to sit outside as we were the only customers there. The server was friendly and fast and listed the house specials and lunch specials. We decided to order the chaat, tikka masala, kashmiri kofta and garlic naan. Each dish was tasty and not hot (ordered mild). The chaat was a new dish that I tried which had crispy balls in a cold yogurt sauce. Was interesting and unexpected but not sure I'd order it again. Overall decent restaurant for a quick lunch.

Good quality food but higher prices and small portions. We came on a Tues afternoon around 2 and we were the only ones in the restaurant. They have a parking lot in back which was nice. They have mostly indoor seating but they have a small outdoor patio that is dog friendly. We got the chaat, tikka masala, kashmiri kofta and garlic naan. I feel like everywhere does chaat a little differently but this was just alright for me. It was the little fried dough balls drenched in a sweet yogurt sauce. A little one note in texture and a bit sweet for me. Tikka was good but standard. Chicken was very tender. Kashmiri kofta was good and the dumplings were a nice size. A ricb, flavorful sauce. Garlic naan was good. Bread was very soft. While naan was extra I did like that they include a bowl of rice with the entrees. Service was friendly and fast.

What an experience. First time trying Indian food and the recommendations we got were 10/10. Where do I begin? RJ was absolutely amazing and recommended what we ate and we went for it. The music Playing was also very pleasant and had a good vibe. I'm not sure if the gentleman that came out as we ate was the Chef or owner, but he asked if everything was okay. He was so Nice and welcoming. We got mild spicy chicken and lamb plates. Omg it was absolutely delicious. The Garlic bread, likewhoa. That bread was so gooooood. We ordered some to go as well. Thank you for an awesome Food experience. We'll be back soon to try more dishes. 10/10 for sure. Thank You RJ for all you did for us today.

Flavor Party in Little India, Artesia! If you're cruising through Artesia, you have to stop by Yantra. It's clean, cozy, and the food is a total vibe. We kicked things off with the Trio of Chicken Tikka. It's the perfect way to taste the "spectrum" of Indian flavors: * White: Creamy and mild. * Green: Fresh coriander zest. * Red: Classic bold spices. For the mains, the Chicken Makhni is a must-try. The tomato sauce is rich and perfectly seasoned. We paired it with Butter and Garlic Naan--super soft and the ultimate tool for scooping up every last drop of that sauce! Pro Tip: Come early to skip the line. It's the perfect spot to relax and fuel up.

Good date spot for authentic tasting Indian food. There was parking in the back, went on a Sunday around 3:30 and there wasn't many people there. The place looked very nice and clean and greeted through the door (Sandhya), seated immediately. We ordered drinks, (3ea) Chardonnay for the wife and (3ea) Taj Mahal beer for myself, the beer was really good, refreshing. We had the: o Chicken Makhni (butter chicken) - Tender and juicy, the sauce was so good, had to soak it all up with the naan bread. o Garlic naan - Soft, warm and fresh doughy taste, looked right out of the brick oven. o Samosas - fried pillow of dough with meat and veggies, little kick. oCrispy cauliflower - lightly battered and fried, sweet sauce soft and juicy in the middle. o Trio of chicken tikka - Colorful to taste a bit of variety chicken flavors that they had, interesting flavors. I think that last one was the least of my favorites for the order, it was good, but just too much with for what we had ordered already. The waiter Raj was very attentive, and had good feedback on the dishes when asked about them. We ended up staying over an hour and having more drinks because the environment was cool and calm. A wonderful date and dinner for $150 bucks, cant go wrong. We will for sure be going back for more when we get the urge for Indian food. We went 6/1/2025, the following week was craving it again, but life happened. Hopefully we can get back there again soon, appreciate the hospitality Raj!

"Eat Good Indian Food. Eat Good Indian Food. Eat Good Indian Food." That's my mantra eating at Yantra. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=xsT4KZTu_KnOVavtuXn4RA&select=480CeKJH75hkhYNHg2mctQ Yantra Kitchen is a trendy, modern Indian restaurant, specializing in Punjabi cuisine. When I noticed Yantra's Lunch Specials, it gave the impetus to stop by and give them a try. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=xsT4KZTu_KnOVavtuXn4RA&start=48&select=WADewNaEmXTzcFsVTzRFIQ Papdi Chaat- https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=xsT4KZTu_KnOVavtuXn4RA&start=0&select=qk7veTSPmnOpX3gFgQZKUQ Yantra's Papdi Chaat is one of their signature dishes, and I really enjoyed it. The chilled yogurt makes this dual purpose - as an appetizer or as dessert. The varying textures provided contrast with each bite. A bit sweet for my taste, but otherwise a charming way to start/end a meal. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=xsT4KZTu_KnOVavtuXn4RA&start=0&select=NRhLFnuagCZ6fUfKln8mZA Lamb Curry https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=xsT4KZTu_KnOVavtuXn4RA&start=0&select=zNzo2Zpk59eIP-VxAs_q1g Upon digging into the Lamb Curry, I developed a coughing fit. Why? Yantra's curry was more pungent, rich, and assertive than what I was expecting. Which is a good thing! A sip of water, and I went back into devouring this delicious plate of tender lamb. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=xsT4KZTu_KnOVavtuXn4RA&start=0&select=VRvgy_GGihhqsdypr4vDHQ Service was good. The chef's son was attending to customers, and he was prompt & hospitable. Ample seating, inside & al fresco, the music playlist is quite good. Parking is via metered street parking in front, with a paid lot in the back. Yantra Kitchen also has a Chat Cart, selling enticing Indian street snacks. A tad pricier than other Indian eateries, Yantra Kitchen serves delicious food in a more upscale, yet homey environment. Their Lunch Specials are a great value to experience their menu, and I'm looking forward to coming back to exploring the rest of their entrees. Highly recommend!

Once upon a time, our group of Doctors within borders, celebrated Diwali here for dinner. We had chicken tikka masala, smoked eggplant, delicious naan, and rose lassi. All was wonderful! We enjoyed the restaurant's modern atmosphere, too. We will be back to try more of their splendid offerings. The end.

Good Indian food in a very modern restaurant. There is adequate parking behind (entry from 184th St). The space is very chic and modern, with an outdoor patio. The food is very good and service is okay. We started with Chicken Tikka Masala routine, which was excellent We had the cauliflower and Delhi 6 lamb curry, both of which were good. The Naan was very good. Definitely worth a visit, if you are in the area

Really great and flavorful food. We went on a Tuesday night and had the whole restaurant to ourselves. Definitely a more upscale Indian restaurant in Little India but worth checking out. I like that they make an extra effort in plating the dishes. The waiter was nice and restaurant seemed clean. They had the large side window door open so lots of fresh air came into the restaurant, it was a pleasant experience.

This is a moderately fast casual Indian restaurant at the edge of Little India where there are seemingly an infinite number of places to choose from. Look no further. Parking is free in back down a rickshaw narrow alley. Good luck wedging the Duelly into a Compact Car Only space. While it feels like a fast casual spot it took a while to get the Crew up and running or at least trotting, but once everyone came to life Yantra was pleasantly efficient. You'll soon get used to the thumpin' loop and Dream Chaos and Ben Plum instead of the Bollywood version of Kars For Kids is manageable. The Decor is scant and has that dining in the Airport Terminal feel to it, but then you came for the good food and the convenience of being close to the Cerritos Performing Arts Center. So, settle in anywhere you like and study the menu. There will be questions. (Pass over the Pizza and Pasta, and stick to the Indian fare) The Staff: Now that you've jump started the Server and the Busser dinner just flows. The friendly, helpful, extended family is at your service. The Food: Surprisingly good. Everything is basically made to order. No 55 gallon drum of Chicken Tikka Masala on simmer and waiting for the ladle here. Let's begin with the Go Goa Coconut Curry which is an ample sample of how well this kitchen can bring it. Boneless, Skinless Chicken in a deep pool of Sauce made with Coconut Milk, Curry Leaves, Ground Spices (Cumin, Coriander, Mustard Seed and Asafaetida which is dried sap from the Ferula Plant tasting of Onion and Garlic). Pick a protein (Chicken, Lamb, Shrimp or a Fish if you wish or maybe a Vegetable instead to grace the Sauce). This dish comes with a mound of Plain White Basmati Rice which is always a good idea if you want it hot hot hot as in Molecular Acid eating through the bowl and the table. The Go Goa Sauce is rich, complex and addictive. I'm no wimp but the medium spice level had my eyebrows, hair, and toes sweating like a borrowed mule in a hurry from the curry. This dish easily made the Gotta Go Back and Have It Again List. So, right now, it's time for some soothing, cooling Raita (Greek Yogurt, Cucumber, Garam Masala) to plop on your almost gone Go Goa. Time to hail Mahi and ask for Garlic Naan to push things around with. Alas, the Naan fell flat. It happens. No puffy pillow to be split and stuffed with stuff. Just take this Naan, roll it up like the Tortilla it resembles, and blot up the nearest Sauce that's played hard to get even if it's on someone else's table. Making friends is nice. Yellow Dal Tadka (Lentils) was comforting comfort food. It did what Comfort Food is supposed to do. Remind you of languid nights at the small Formica kitchen table in your Dadi Aman's apartment eating like a Rajah. This bowl of Lentils was as warm and thick as your tongue on a cool first date. The Lentils maintained their Lentil integrity and the Sauce stood on it's own and was not merely a dip from the One Sauce Fits All Vat, which is the bane of many Indian restaurants. Shortly after you tucked into whatever you ordered the house sends out some Mango Pickles. Bitter, sweet, pungent, and hot. This condiment shows Pataks Lime Pickle bottled factory made version how it's done. The hostess swung by and set down a little bowl of Mango Chutney just because she was genuinely friendly, naturally nice and she thought I secretly wanted it. I did. It was Mango Marmalade, unabashedly sweet without being cloying, treacly, or overly sugary. It was just right, provided balance to the spicy food on the table, and was a perfect compliment to add to a spoon of Curry or Dal. Finally, the Baingar Bharta which were chunks of Smoked Eggplant, grilled directly over hot Charcoal and or Honey, let's get engaged close to the open flames on the stove top. Either way this dish was the highlight. A hint of Smoke and redolent of Eggplant. No chewy skin to deal with made this dish pure Eggplant magic. So, "I'm Goa'n back to Yantra" is my mantra.

A group of us came here for lunch on a Saturday, & it was not busy. Hubby & I had Garlic Naan, Samosa, Chicken Biryani & Shrimp Tikka Masala. Everything was fresh & delicious. Portion was generous, & the shrimps were huge. The flavor was not overwhelming like some Indian restaurants. The Mango Lassi was perfectly sweet. Everyone really enjoyed their food, & we had leftover from our entrees. Service was friendly & attentive. The server/owner proactively disclosed their popular dishes & made recommendations. My only complaint is that they wouldn't offer a bowl of rice to each diner. We had to share & finish before more rice was provided. Parking is available in the back.

There's plenty of parking in the back, making it a hassle-free spot to visit. As soon as you walk in, you're greeted by the rich, inviting aroma of Indian spices, setting the tone for a truly authentic dining experience. The interior is bright, open, and impeccably clean, creating a welcoming and comfortable atmosphere. The staff were incredibly kind and attentive, answering all our questions with patience and warmth. We came as a group of friends, ready to indulge in a feast, and the food did not disappoint. Here's what we ordered: Tandoori Prawns: Absolutely delicious--unlike anything I've tried before. Papadi Chaat: A must-have classic! The flavors exploded in my mouth--sweet, spicy, tangy--with a perfect balance of crunchy textures. Pakodas: How could we resist? These vegetable fritters were perfectly crispy, paired with chutney and tamarind sauce that complemented them beautifully. Schezwan Stir-Fry Paneer: A surprising combination for me, but it was delightfully flavorful and satisfying. For the main course, we shared three curries along with naan and rice. The rice was served complimentary--a generous and thoughtful gesture that reflected true Indian hospitality. Baigan Bharta: This eggplant curry was incredibly rich and delicious, with deep, smoky flavors. Lamb Curry: The lamb was tender and perfectly cooked, without any gaminess. The curry itself was flavorful and balanced. Chicken Makhani: Creamy, indulgent, and delicious. The chicken was tender, and the curry was smooth and comforting. Though they have a bar, we opted for mango lassi instead, which was creamy and had the perfect mango flavor. As someone who knows Indian food intimately--having grown up eating it, cooking it, and visiting India often--I was thoroughly impressed. The flavors were authentic, bold, and reminiscent of home-cooked meals. Importantly, the food wasn't overly spicy in heat but was rich with layers of complex spices. I strongly advise anyone visiting to avoid adjusting the spice levels, as doing so can take away from the essence of Indian cuisine. We also did try the cheese naan, pairs well with all the curry. This place truly felt like a slice of home for me, and I can't wait to come back to explore more of the menu. Highly recommend!

Diving into the details - the restaurant decor is quite formal and has always been kind of surprising to be given that I often come for casual meals. The staff are well dressed in white button ups and always very polite so it's good vibes all around. If you know me, I'm nothing if not predictable. I always get the butter chicken and unapologetically so. IT IS SO GOOD. I refuse to be shamed into trying other things and if that makes me basic, so be it. In case you haven't guessed, I'm also always getting their garlic naan as well. I've tried other dishes before but nothing beats the chicken. One thing I will say is the spiciness fluctuates every time even though I always ask for medium so do with that what you will.

This was such a great spontaneous discovery. They have a small parking lot in the front where we parked, but then we saw later on that they also have additional parking in the back if you don' see spots in the front. Upon entering the staff was welcoming. The gave us a few tables to choose from that were cleaned and appropriate for 2 people. I just want to say service was impeccable our whole time there. Everyone on their team took turns checking on us, making sure our waters were refilled, and that we had everything we needed to enjoy our meal. So nice!! As we explored the menu, we saw the combination dinners that allowed us to get more variety, which we love. We both picked a different combo so we could share and try more things. My boyfriend enjoys tandoori so he went with the Mix Tandoori Grill ($26.95) that comes with an assortment of Tandoori Chicken, Lamb Seekh Kabab, Chicken Tikka, Fish Tikka served in a sizzling platter on a bed of onions with naan, rice, and gulab jamun. So much food! I picked the India Special ($24.95) which comes with chicken tikka, the choice of lamb or chicken curry which I opted for the chicken, veg, korma, raita, rice, naan, and gulab jamun. What a FEAST!! For the naan I asked for the garlic naan and it was INCREDIBLE. Wow! Might be THEE best Indian food I have ever enjoyed. Between the two of our orders I felt like I had the variety I have when I go eat at Indian buffets. My boyfriend loved the tandooris platter. All of the proteins were cooked perfectly. I assume they were prepped separately to get to the right cooking temp. So funny because my boyfriend was eating the rice while I was indulging in the naan. Dipping the naan in the curry and the korma. Nom Nom Nom! So fun and so delicious. My boyfriend was even saying this is one of the best meals he had in a while. I was so full when the gulab jamun dessert came out at the end but it was so delicious I still ate all of it. Without a doubt the best execution of this dessert I have ever had. We will definitely be back when we find ourselves craving Indian food.

The butter chicken is my favorite, I know it's the most basic b Indian food but everything I've tried has been awesome. Sangeetha's cooking has made me ok with trying some vegetarian food when I thought I'd never like any non meat-centric dish. Swing by, try something new or enjoy something old. Relevant - it's not super spicy, but that's ok to me, it's more accessible to people that might be turned off by excessive spice - I have some scorpion pepper powder that I add to bring the heat, and it doesn't hurt the flavor that I've come to love. They're not open Mondays, but hey - she deserves time off! A suggestion if I may - grab an extra bowl of butter chicken alongside whatever else you get, and throw a fried egg or two on top the next morning for breakfast. DOES NOT HAVE BANANAS! As a professional simian that is of note, but not a negative ;) There are random snacks I've never seen before, I've tried a few and have been happy with what I've sampled. The bottles of mango lassi are super tasty and for me, it helps my heartburn.

I probably will not be returning, but it wasn't bad. I think non-south Asians would really like it. Edit: I was going to delete my review, but I got a private message from the owner with a ton of attitude, asking me to take this down, but I don't feel like that's ethical. I don't think three stars is bad. So just to restate. The food is not bad. But I'm not going to take this review down because I don't feel like it's appropriate for the owner to message you privately with an attitude and try to strong-arm you into taking down the review. I have left plenty of reviews about restaurants in Little India, and not once as anybody messaged me with the tone that you have used with me. So I'm leaving it up. Live and learn. Edit: I got a notification that the owner continued to add to her comment, so to answer her questions, I don't remember what I got because it was several months ago, but I remember that it was just okay. It wasn't bad but your approach to dealing with your customers is. I don't think that Yelp has the option of messaging people so you can come at them with a shitty attitude and strong-arm them into trying to change their review. You're honestly just making yourself look worse.

It is still a great value at 21.99 for Saturday lunch buffet. There is a good selection of Indian staples, chicken tikka masala, paneer sag, Muton stew. All very tasty though some of the chicken in the tikka masala and the pepper chicken were a little dry. They also had gulab jamun and other sweets. Being so busy, food is constantly replenish from the kitchen. It's one huge open room and quite hectic at lunch time. There were a lot of servers and they were good at clearing out plates, refilling water and overall vein attentive. The interiors are neither here nor there, not basic, but thankfully not garrish either. The sound level though, quite noisy. It you're craving Indian buffet in the Cerritos or Long Beach area this place is still with a visit.

I've been coming to this restaurant for over 10 years now. Service has been hit or miss. But…read morenothing I couldn't look past. Today was some of the worst service I had ever seen from the front desk team. The hostesses appeared to be discriminating against a woman because of her service animal. I'm not sure they understand how ILLEGAL what they did today was. We arrived for Mother's Day because my mom loves the all you can eat buffet there and it's one of her favorite restaurants. The hosts up front seemed a bit scattered and were quoting random times to people. We were told it would be about 15-20 minutes. I think we were seated after 30 minutes. They called us up and then told us wait the table isn't ready so asked us to wait another 5 minutes. The reason I took off 3 stars is because a very nice woman had been waiting with her friends and her service dog longer than us. She was extremely patient and kind. She waited outside with her dog and didn't complain once about the wait. I heard the hosts discussing her dog and they were like oh that's a BIG service dog. It was just a normal small sized black lab. And they never began preparing a table for her. The woman finally came in after about 30 minutes to say she had been waiting and was told they were just setting up a table. They kind of brushed her off and said we will get to you. It seems like they had no intention of ever seating her and her friends. They seated multiple large groups before her. We were table of two and we got sat so we thought she would be next and she wasn't. Eventually the poor woman left. They have a sign outside saying service dogs are allowed. This is not true. And you will be discriminated against and not be given a table. I'm not sure if the hosts know how illegal their behavior was. It was clear her dog was a real service animal and the hostesses did not care for her at all. I was a hostess at two restaurants when I was younger and I have never seen anyone treat a customer so poorly before. I truly hope they apologize to this woman. - As for inside the restaurant the servers and waitstaff were extremely friendly. It is a bit scattered and you don't know who your server is so it is hard to flag people down. But they still serve water, naan, and anything else you need promptly. The entire restaurant was packed. Every table was full and the staff always had the food trays full of items. The items also all tasted fresh. All besides the Hakka noodles. That one was a little soggy or over boiled for my taste. I am vegetarian so I got their spinach and mushroom pasta which was surprisingly good. Paneer tikka was also very good. They also had channa/chole. They have street food station where they made fresh pani puri which was great. I believe this station is switched out each buffet day. The last time I was here it was dev puri. And they had someone making paneer tacos. The man making the tacos was really friendly and seemed really happy to be helping everyone. They had samosas and puff pastries as appetizers. They have wide variety of sweets such as carrot halwa, gulab jamun, jalebi, sweets, Kheer, and mango fruit custard. There is a variety of meat dishes such as tandoor chicken, mutton, chili chicken, and chicken curries. I think the only issue with this place is how the hostesses treat customers. Especially new customers. This is their first impression of the restaurant.

This was one of the few dishes that did not contain dairy. Relative to the roti it was served with, the portion could have been bigger by filling the bowl more. The flavors were good with the smokiness of the eggplant and the warmth of the spices. - bajra roti (2/10): this was not very pleasant to eat. It was much thicker than i was expecting which made it hard to tear into small pieces and chew. WOULD I GO BACK? Maybe, though there are other nearby places that I have enjoyed more.

Ambiance was basic. We opted for the Bhookhe special curry (fox nut), the Sartaj (thali), gatte curry (gram flour), and falouda kulfi. Flavors of the dishes were nice, however the fox nut curry was overly sweet and the various thali dishes were a bit bland. Our favorite was the gatte curry and their naan. Dessert was solid.
