This is my second time at this location and both times I've had a good experience. The beer list is massive. This second time in our server was David. He seemed a little new but was very nice and went out of his way to make sure we were happy. 5/5 for him. He suggested the cheese curds in place of mozzarella sticks. Tasty but strange side dipping sauces, def suggest getting a side of regular marinara sauce if they have it. He got a cheese burger and I got the Ahi salad. Both very tasty and I was also informed the salads here are not available in a wrap. I was also looking forward to a drink of clase azul repo but their liquor menu isn't too vast. I do not normally give a restaurant a 5 star. Only if they are in the 3 dollar sign category and have excellent service. This was our 3rd trip to the Yard House Restaurant in Phoenix AZ. We decided to have a early dinner as we were out doing some shopping and a movie later. Although Yard House menu is limited I think they have something for everyone. Their draft beer selection is quite extensive with over 100 choices and a couple from Michigan. I ordered a salad with my meal which was very good with a Balsamic vinaigrette that was light and refreshing. I had a Filet, mashed potatoes and carrots w/asparagus. My Filet was prepared exactly how I ordered it and it was very good. The mashed potatoes with carrots and asparagus was very tasty and cooked el détente which is just the way I liked them. My wife ordered sweet potato fries to accompany her grilled cheese and tomato soup. The sweet potato fries were one of the best I have ever eaten, crisp and refreshing taste. Her soup and grilled cheese were very good. I had 2 Long Island Ice teas and the wife had a plain Margarita which were very good. My daughter had the same dish as my wife and she enjoyed her meal as well. She had one of the draft beers which she liked very much, I think she had two. I wrote a review last year on Yard House and they have improved there food preparation. The final bill was little over a c note not including the tip. I used to love getting takeout from this place being very close to my home. However, two weeks ago my order was visibly terrible. The bone-in ribeye was burned so badly it required a lot of cutting and scraping to be able to eat any of it. The cheesesteak bread was stale and the fries undercooked. I left a complaint and Zach the GM called me the following day. He apologized and sent me a gift card to make up for the experience. Two days ago, I order takeout again only to find that I don't have my entree in the bag when I get home. I immediately called the restaurant and was connected with a manager named Brooke. She was initially quite condescending until verifying their mistake. Then she offered...a gift card. What good is a gift card for inedible or missing food? I asked for them to deliver the entree instead and they refused. She sited a liability. Zach emailed me later to say they can't have unsupervised staff if a manager was to leave. I guess service would be even worse if they had to take care of customers. And it's not like you can figure out how to have food delivered in this area... I can't recommend anymore. I really want to like this place - it has a great vibe and the service was great. However, we purchased several appetizers: the pretzel which was burnt and not soft/tear-able and the spinach dip tasted terrible almost like a fishy seafood taste (and I pretty much love any spin dip I meet!). The traditional BBQ wings were great however - very crispy. Disappointed for the quality of food we received for the price we paid. My husband and I go to the Yard House regularly (you're probably wondering, if you go so often, why don't you give 5 stars? Let me go through the pros first!). The Yard House is a bar and grill and has a huge menu, beer, and wine selection. There is something for everyone at Yard House. This pescetarian was especially excited by their inclusion of meat-free substitutes. They have all sorts of options for vegetarian or pescetarians -- so don't be deterred by the bar/grill vibe if you don't eat meat! The location is in Desert Ridge, so we normally stop by if we are out shopping. Great location and it's normally pretty busy. Because it's regularly busy, it can get fairly loud, so just an FYI. The service is always friendly and prompt every time we go there, so no complaints with the wait staff. The food is reliably good. I've tried everything from the veggie burger to the fish and chips. Portions are big and I normally leave with a doggie bag. The reason I give 4/5 instead of 5/5 is for two reasons. First, the cocktails always leave something to be desired. I would recommend if you go here, forego the cocktail and get a beer. They have a huge beer selection. The cocktails always feel a little watered down. Considering the price, I feel like the cocktail-game needs to be stepped up. Which brings me to my second point, the prices are a little bit steep for a bar and grill (and the cocktails are overpriced for what you get IMO). My husband and I usually spend between $60 and $70 for two entrees and my husband normally grabs a beer. A little bit more than what you'd pay at your average bar and grill. BUT the food is pretty good and you normally get a second meal out of whatever you ordered. Overall, my husband and I will come back and we are learning to navigate their menu. read more

Came here for a happy hour with my coworkers. One of my coworkers ordered some nachos, a "sushi," and some cabbage wraps. Food was pretty mediocre. The nachos were good, but definitely a lot of food. Also got a little sick of it after a while. The sushi wasn't my favorite and they made it very different from the traditional sushi. The cabbage wraps were my favorite out of the three. I would've rate Yard House a 3 stars based on previous visits but decided they are a solid 4 stars based on my recent visit. This particular Desert Ridge location is set up so that the hostess station is located in the middle of the restaurant. Nonetheless, they are efficient and friendly. Over the years, I've noticed they added many new entrees to their menu. We all decided to try something we haven't before, so we ordered Vodka shrimp pasta, Lobster mac and cheese, and spicy Cajun Jambalaya. The pasta was really creamy and delicious. The lobster mac and cheese was also flavorful without being overly cheese or greasy. The jambalaya was very spicy! Did I mention it was spicy? Don't order this dish if you can't take the heat! We love spicy food so we loved it. All of the dishes were perfectly seasoned, not salty at all which I often find dishes at restaurants. Overall, we had very nice meal and the waitstaff were very friendly and helpful. Looking forward to going back soon. read more

Yard House is such a great place to eat and get a drink. This location is in the Desert Ridge Marketplace, which is in a very nice spot, nestled in the middle of the shopping center by the AMC theater. Inside of the restaurant is large and open. Definitely, can accommodate lots of people, but they have a nice outside seating as well. I've been to this location several times and the food is consistently good and fresh tasting. I come for their lunch specials usually and get pizza (pepperoni) paired with clam chowder or a sandwich and fries or a salad. Lunch combos run about $10 for the two items. This doesn't include a drink. Everything I've had at YH has been so good. Try the truffle fries, they're amazing! Wait staff are always pretty friendly and accommodating. Last time I came, the waiter I had I think was new as he didn't seem to know the menu, as well as most people, do. Plus he didn't know if certain items could be replaced by something else. He was however very pleasant. I've never been here when it get's too busy, so can't comment on that. Will come back again! read more

Normally a Five Star as curb side pick up and food has always been GREAT! But..... this time the order taking process was terrible. There was so much noise and confusion and putting on hold the process took 15 minutes and was INCORRECT. My husband arrived home with our usual order( 2 poke nachos) and this time had treated himself to a Growler($36) Oh boy was he disappointed as the order for House Golden Pilsner turned out to be a strange perfumed (he thought) cider (I thought). Certainly not the Pilsner he is accustomed to. We held 2 minutes silence as we poured it down the drain after enjoying our Nachos. An expensive mistake and a lesson learned for us. If Yard House should learn from this please have staff take orders in a quiet environment and have someone who understands the growler menu take the order. I've never been here for happy hour so I was pleasantly surprised that they have a good menu. The servers are very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu selections. We wanted to try somethings we ordinarily wouldn't. Tomato bisque. OMG. It was one of the best I've ever tasted. Every mouthful was delicious. Next mug shu egg rolls. How does this happen? I'm an egg roll. Again a favorite now. Then Korean bone in chicken wings. Sauced perfectly. I also need a basic salad and again really good. Way too much for two but all very enjoyable. read more

I'm disappointed to leave this review. I love Yard House and hold the chain in high regard. But we were almost completely ignored at the bar today, and it's not the first time we have felt that way. Mike in particular avoided eye contact as he worked around us. Dillon was the only one who tried to help us. Ate here before going to a Saturday afternoon movie, sat at the bar. Had been to a Yard House in Vegas but not Scottsdale. Unbelievable choice of beers on tap, just about the best I've ever seen. The bartender, Angela, was perky and very friendly. She even gave me a couple of beer ideas and a sample of one (which was great!). My wife had the grilled cheese and tomato bisque. Excellent, thick bisque and fantastic grilled cheese, definitely a buy-again! I had the grilled chicken with avocado on a poppy seed bun. It was good, would have been a little better if the bun was a bit larger as the chicken, lettuce, tomato, & avocado slid off. If it had been grilled a little more, didn't seem like it was above an open flame, or if it had been marinaded, perhaps it would have been a little tastier. Had a cup of french onion soup which was good. Angela gave great service, even kind of lifted our spirits with her enthusiasm. The prices aren't the best, but they aren't outrageous, but I don't know many places that serve some of the beers they had or that has such a great breadth of a menu. We would have given 4.5 stars if we could of, but for what we ordered and the service we had, it is more deserving of 5 stars versus 4. read more

I feel the need to update my review. I still stand by the lower quality ingredients in some of the dishes. However, I went for the first time in years and had the ahi crunchy salad and it was phenomenal! Same with the new ahi tuna dish they added. The only thing is it's quite expensive for the amount of food and I was expecting it to be like a rice bowl with the ahi mixed in. Some of the ahi was cooked waaaay past the point where it could be considered "seared rare". The drinks are great, and I have learned a long time ago to not order the martinis, unless you like eating a small piece of ice every time you take a sip. The bartender was killing it being the only bartender during Labor Day weekend, and the sunset sangria was delicious. My only gripe which makes this not a 5 star is the seared ahi sashimi. Please, oh please, bring back the red cabbage with the dish. The pickled vegetables are quite disgusting, and the fact you don't even have red cabbage in your kitchen anymore makes no sense. read more

This place used to be one of my favorites but the service and food have definitely gone downhill. Pretzel was wayyy overcooked but came to the table cold. Pizza was soggy and cold. I couldn't even eat it. I ordered a Mac n Cheese for my 2 year old, she wouldn't eat it and was acting like it was gross after 1 bite. I told the server and instead of offering something else or comping the Mac n cheese, she just boxed it up and gave it back to us. Lol. The food and drink prices have gone up so much. We ordered the poke nachos (HH special) the Bavarian pretzel and shared the fish and chips. My favorite item was the poke nachos, they were only 7 bucks during happy hour and they were worth every penny! They had wonton chips as the base with tuna, avocado, green onions and a few slices of Serrano peppers and sriracha mayo and what I think was a sesame sauce or possibly teriyaki. The beer cheese that comes with the pretzel was a hit, the pretzel is huge so you'll definitely need some help sharing it. The fish and chips are much better than thirsty lion's but they were a little greasy. ALWAYS enjoy Happy Hour 3 - 6 P, M-F, until today. The waitstaff called it in. One even -- in passing by -- made sure people heard "I'm living the dream." Okay,that being said...my advice to that man, get a different job, or create a new dream -- one you really want to achieve! We've had dozens -- I mean dozens of happy hour experiences at this Yard House in the Desert Ridge Marketplace -- ALL enjoyable, with friendly, competent and engaging waitstaff. Again, until today. This was the WORST experience we've had at this Yard House. Let me be clear about this missive. I work in retail I work with difficult customers. I work, EVERY DAY -- 10 hours a day -- to make the even most difficult customer feel welcome in my store. He or she is MY GUEST. This day at Yard House -- Desert Ridge location... the woman who asked if we wanted a drink showed up. She took our beer order, but that was the last time she checked in with us. We sat at the bar -- easy pour on tap. We ordered the four-cheese dip to start. BTW Our normal food/bar bill exceeds $100. Until today. Another female waitstaff person at the bar, checked on us and told us -- "Oh, sorry your order wasn't put in to the kitchen." She put the order in and we received our menu item 45 minutes later. Okay, I get all of this in this time of "We're hiring". We can't keep good people on staff, but let it be said, I know. One of the women waitstaff passed by us six times, No, I'm NOT kidding here. She NEVER asked if we would like to order another menu item -- let alone clear off our o dip platter that was sitting there for 15 minutes to be removed from the table. So basically, I bused my own table. Happy to do that, however, Don't you wish I'm on your payroll!! So, on that note...we closed out our bill -- with two beers and a dip. We were tired of being passed by and NOT being acknowledged. Shame on You! DONE. We drove to a restaurant close to your location. Happy Hour food and drink prices with the MOST AMAZING woman who provided the BEST of CUSTOMER SERVICE while we dined!! The beyond burger and the Morningstar Nashville chicken sandwich were both so amazing. The beyond burger was nice and meaty and the sandwich was handbattered and perfectly sweet with a bit of heat to it. The coleslaw that came on the sandwich was the perfect amount of freshness and acidity to cut the rich and fatty flavors. The queso was ok, a little velveeta like but it's bar food but the main courses were phenomenal. I'm love that so many places are incorporating plant based proteins. Our server was chloe and she was going to take the bar exam after, so we wished her luck. She was great and provided attentive service even though she had multiple tables. It is sports bar like but it wasn't crowded and there was plenty of walk way and light out to maneuver. It seemed clean and nothing was sticky on the table.
