My experience, which is the only information I have about the business is as follows: I was never updated me about my case, I would have to call or email multiple times for copies of anything related to my case I felt very unlistened to, this was after I came in and was open about leaving someone abusive. Sometimes the office had no idea where in the process my case was. For example I was told after my SECOND mediation when I had questions about non- payment that child support would be handled when we got to a mediation. My teens were treated as if they had the knowlege base of a 3 year old. Literally thought that 15 year old children (who had been abused- hence needing an atty) would be oblivious to the world around them. Sorry no- if you have been hit, and your mom tosses the person out, you notice- if you request (as a teen) to SPEAK with the atty, because you want to be heard and are refused, you notice. ACTUALLY SUGGESTED THAT I GIVE UP AN ORDER OF PROTECTION AND THAT AN ABUSER GET ANY CUSTODY. (You read that right, and heavens do I regret listening to her on that.) In a nutshell if you have children look elsewhere. Client blamed, couldn't understand why as the sole person providing 100% care/ 95% funding for said children that I didn't want to miss work for anything other than absolutely necessary. Not very good at mediation either (see above) or sympathetic to her clients- if a person will agree to take on 98% of the marital debt just to escape someone - especially when you know they can't afford it, how can you not see that there is an issue??? Never instilled a feeling of trust from me personally either. If I brokedown or cried I was a drama queen, when I became all business and cold with her (because at this point I had no trust or respect for her ability) I was an ice queen. Treated me like I was a child often, I have a professional degree (thats a Masters), 20 years in the military, and 23 in the medical field. I had reached out to what was supposed to be an expert in the field, who failed me and my children dramatically. If you choose this business I sincerely hope you have better luck than I did. Now I am filing my own motions- really easy you can google it and FINALLY making headway. But be advised once you hire someone you are locked in until its over- because if you part ways no one will take your case. Then again this is one former client's opinions and experience.
