This is such a destresser and an awesome experience So I bought a coupon from groupon and attended this super awesome paint nite hosted by Julie Ducap I saw her 535 five star rating and attended this paint night I painted this awesome bridge under the cherry blossom Julie actually walked us through every single step and very easy Please see my painting and I'm someone who can't draw a straight line After we all were done every ones painting looks the same and exactly like the original one Phew !! I'm so super excited that am going to have a tough time sleeping tonight The entire painting is completed in two hours and with a break So this really is a cool concept Order ur appetizers and drinks and paint on Every one was so super excited painting this awesome painting step by step The host Julie made this complicated looking 3D painting seem like a cake walk What I loves in Ellen's Bar and Grill was the class room style seating and of course Julie had a mike so everyone could hear her She actually went to every single table and walked them through the steps I would strongly recommend Paint nites and if possible hosted by Julie Super awesome experience!!

Had a great experience with Paint Nite! We got our tickets through Groupon so the price was very much reasonable. Our teacher Steve was awesome, personable and extremely helpful. They provide everything you need to have a fun time. There are various locations all around the GTA. We did ours up in Markham.

This is a lot of fun! I'm the type of person who has difficulty drawing stick people, so I was tentative to try this out. Needless to say, the instructors guide you throughout the whole thing step-by-step and even help salvage your painting if you make any mistakes :) You get to choose which painting you want and the process is simple. Just go on to their site, look up dates and venues and then choose the one you want. If you're just as worried as I was, try sorting them out by difficulty level. One thing I wasn't too fond of was that it took quite some time to do the event that we wanted, because most of the events kept getting cancelled. I would encourage people to try this out with friends, significant other, and even family. I'm definitely going to take my sister next time!

Needed a special gift for Mother's Day this year so I decided to get her a paint nite workshop. Everyone paints the same picture but you're free to change it up. Super cool environment since it's usually at a pub/bar so you can order a drink (extra charge of course). The instructor was super nice and helpful. Only downsize was paint colours are given. Would have been nice to choose different colours rather than trying to mix them.

.@PaintNiteTO Loved, Loved Loved this! Think about it, for $25 (with promo code) you can get a piece of art work that you've painted yourself. Granted, it's not a real original piece but it's definitely one of a kind! As someone who is extremely apprehensive with anything creative and freestyle (being and engineer and all) this event was exceptional in allowing me to paint something that I want (you pick the event you want to attend based on location and painting before hand) and TEACH ME how to do it. I didn't believe it either, but based on their gallery most people seem to be able to easily replicate the original painting more or less - the impossible will be possible. The events are held in different bars and venues around Toronto, you'll easily be able to find something close to you. They set up small easels and canvases across a long table. Looks cramped, but really isn't. You can get drinks at the bar (but be careful not to mix up your drink with your paint water!). They give you smocks, the canvas, all the paint you need on a paper plate for mixing, and brushes. Very organized and well thought out. The instruction is quite basic, and you can pick your event based on difficulty too. Lexie (the artist) and Jon (helper) did an excellent Jon explaining, helping out everyone with tips, what to do next. They were not intimidating at all, and was very approachable. And they understood that most people attending the event are there for the very reason I was, anxious about painting haven't done it since oh, kindergarten. I would totally do this again, something for the home, a gift for parents. Not sure how it would work if my husband and I went together and did the same painting. Great date idea. Great rainy day Sunday idea - bring a plastic bag to take home your painting if it is raining.

3 friends and I went for Paint Nite in Fionn MacCool in Mississauga's Heartland area. In a nutshell: go on the website and select location/painting of your choice - level of difficulty is shown. Once you arrive, you are seated with an easel, paint, paintbrush, blank canvas and apron. After introductions, the instructor shows step-by-step how to paint. The good: - Fun activity to do with friends, you can take home a painting that you made yourself - Regular price is $45 but there's plenty of options available to pay $25 plus tax only - I used code julie20 that a coworker gave me. Decent value. - The instructor and her 2 helpers were sweet and friendly, with a good sense of humour The bad: - Seating at this location was really tight - The aprons we were given were mostly pretty dirty (covered in a lot of paint from previous classes) - There was less learning than I anticipated ... we did a bit of blending but otherwise no real technique. For the leaves for example, we were instructed to just blot the paintbrush. The end result of even the instructor didn't look as pretty as the original image. - Instructor did not have a microphone - she did advise that this isn't always the case. I might give Paint Nite a try again someday, but at a different location. Note: no food/drinks are included. You can purchase drinks and apps, but this location told us we couldn't order mains since there wouldn't be room.

I have to say, paint nite is something you can do with friends, alone, your other half. You just need to go, have fun everything is provided. You're welcome to order anything you'd like to drink and pay as you go. Just pick a theme/ picture that you feel comfortable with and like. There's also an awesome step-by-step guide by a teacher. You only have to go with an open heart and bring your artistic side out. I went to the Danforth - Fox and Fiddle location, it's spacious and quiet on Saturday mid- noon. As we pack into the evening, where patrons of the pub coming in, it got a little rush and I felt we are rushing to finish off the painting. But overall, it's a fun event.

I highly recommend using a coupon code or groupon to get a discount to make sure you get your money's worth. Our event took place at marche which was nice. Even though there was a venue change due to a pipe leak at sushi spring, our instructor got things organized quickly. She had an awesome personality and was really funny. Paint nite is fun with a group of friends and is a nice way to de stress, and have a few laughs after work. You don't learn too much technique, and I probably wouldn't hang my painting up, but I'd definitely do it again. I'd probably choose another painting though.

Paint nite is such an excellent way to spend a few hours with your girlfriends. I am terrible at painting or art in generally, but the instructors make it an easy and fun experience when everything was broken down into steps. I usually go once every month or two with my sister or girlfriends. What a great way to spend a few hours drinking, snacking on apps, and painting :)

My terrarium. You can see the chip on the vase. The vases are very poor quality.

Bad experience this time. I had a good experience before, but due to 'bad scheduling' my confirmed event got cancelled very last minute.

At the start, the instructor explained the process, but I noticed he mostly focused on a handful of people, so a few of us (including me) missed some details. We were given a clay like material to roll into a tube and a mold, which we did but then things got a little confusing. After shaping it, he took our rings, wrapped them around the mold, and handed them back. Apparently, we were supposed to carve and design them at that point, but this wasn't clearly communicated, so me and one other person just didn't do anything LOL Luckily, my ring still turned out nice (I wanted something simple anyway), so no complaints there! The place itself is great and worth checking out, but I'd suggest two small improvements: 1. Clearer instructions - Maybe double check that everyone's on the same page before moving forward. 2. Better supplies- They were running low on basics like tissues, cutlery, and plates, which would've made the experience smoother. Still a fun time -just needs a little fine tuning :)

I prepaid and booked our session. The facilities are located in the Wychwood art building on the second floor. We arrived early, and the studio was clear, so we were able to begin early. It was a little smaller than I expected, but certainly has everything required. Our staff was super friendly, and reassured us we'd be able to complete our projects. She went through the various pieces we could choose from to make. Both of us went for a solid bird, and blown lamp. We started with the bird. For the bird, we could choose up to 3 colours. She explained what each would look like once applied. She demonstrated what we would be doing, and had us try some practice with the rod. She pulled the molten glass from the furnace, and handed it over to us to roll into the frit colours we selected. She watched as we put the glass in to make sure we applied the right amount of pressure and rolled it before it cooled too much. The pieces then go into the hottest of the 3 furnaces. She stood behind a protective screen while the 2 of us watched with our protective eyewear. We then moved to another bench where we shaped the beaks and tails ourselves with metalworking tongs. She guided us verbally and advised a very strong pinch and pull to shape. Our little creatures then went into the last of the 3 furnaces, at the lowest temp, where they would cool overnight. For our second piece, we would be shaping by blowing rather than tongs. A rubber tube and disposable mouth bit are used, which she demonstrated. She advised that we need to blow pretty forcefully, and watched us practice before saying "when." Again, she drew the molten glass from the first furnace, and handed the rod over for me to apply the frit colours I had chosen. She then manipulated it a bit before I came in with tube in mouth to blow and shape it. Also mind blowing to anticipate that I'd be using my creation at home! For the lamps, they provide a perpetual wick with the finished piecec, and you can get the paraffin oil at a local hardware store. Once again, our second pieces joined our first to cool in the third furnace before we could collect them. It's an expensive experience, but totally worth it. The expertise and special equipment involved are beyond. Our staff was super nice and answered a lot of questions by the time we were done. We were done early, but then we had started early. It was naturally warm in the studio, but the fans made it bearable. You need to return on another day to collect your finished items. They are packed and stored in an outdoor bench box at a house near the studio. Luckily there's some street parking nearby. I didn't have any trouble parking on a close by street and quickly picking up the bagged items in the box. You have 30 days to collect them, or they'll be disposed of. It was a great experience and memory. It was unique, and having the items afterwards is an awesome way to have your own art as a souvenir. I would come back as a gift to other loved ones again.
