Wow, this place is extremely popular. The lines move very quickly, but there's nowhere to sit unless you're lucky, or maybe if you come early. They have two section - one is more comfy/relaxed than the other. The other side = cafe style tables. Both sides were packed with people. I did want to get something light to eat, but chose not to because of the seating situation. I ended up getting the Moroccan mint ice tea as per recommended by the cashier. It was minty and very refreshing.
I've only been here before to grab a hot tea when I was sick, but I've heard so many great things about Yellow that I was excited to finally come back for breakfast with my friend. I ordered the peanut latte and potatoes, and both were AMAZING! I honestly wish they gave you more potatoes because they were that good. My friend ordered the hummus, which he really enjoyed because he always gets it whenever he comes here. When we arrived, the line wasn't too long, but the tables were pretty full. We were able to find seats outside and eventually grabbed a table inside. The cashier was super nice and friendly while taking our order. The woman bringing food out to the tables was also such a sweetheart and always had a smile on her face. Yellow has both indoor and outdoor seating, and I really enjoyed the cute, cozy vibe inside. I also noticed that the tables were cleaned promptly as guests left, which I always appreciate. Overall, I had a great experience and can definitely see why I've heard so many good things about Yellow. I'll definitely be back to try more of the menu!
We had already eaten so we just tried pita and hummus and it was stilll AMAZING. The worker there too was so sweet and asked my name and then later on remembered my name when we got icecream. The icecream was so soft and creamy. It was packed, even at 2pm on a Monday, but I would definitely go back.
Why'd it take me so long to visit this place?! It's awesome! Service was fast and friendly Great seating options and a good spot for remote work (a bit loud so noise cancelling headphones recommended) Fun latte selections I tried the BAKLAWA MOCHA with oat milk. It wasn't too sweet and held a perfect blend of walnut, rose, and orange bloom. Very creamy and enjoyable There is also a great selection of savory bites, sandwiches, and pastries I decided to try the SFEEHA and that was soooooooo good! The flavors were nothing short of delectable Can't wait to return!
Yellow continues to live up to the hype. I stopped in for the skillet with lamb and a croissant sandwich, and both were excellent. The skillet was packed with flavor the lamb was tender, well-seasoned, and paired perfectly with the other ingredients without feeling too heavy. Every bite had a great balance of savory spices and freshness. The croissant sandwich was equally impressive. The croissant itself was buttery, flaky, and clearly made with care, while the filling was rich and satisfying without overwhelming the pastry. What stands out about Yellow is how they blend Middle Eastern flavors with exceptional pastry technique. The food feels thoughtful and unique, but still approachable. The atmosphere is bright and inviting, and even when it's busy, the quality of the food makes the wait worthwhile.
Yellows hype is so well-deserved. I usually don't reach for lamb but the meat in the lamb pita was tender and flavorful, though I wasn't a fan of the meat to sauce/veggie ratio until about halfway through the pita. Iced peanut dalgona was very light and peanut flavor was pleasantly subtle. Shata batata was phenomenal-- crispy, warm, and super well-seasoned with zaatar among others.

Great, fresh Levantine food. We (vegan and meat eating patrons) visited in the afternoon and ordered the veggie pita and steak pita. The guy helping us suggested the steak although the chicken was their most popular. The steak was very tender and flavorful. I heard the veggie pita also had great flavor. To drink we had the hibiscus lemonade and the mint iced tea with coconut foam. The lemonade was refreshing and definitely a unique menu item, but it left me wishing I had ordered an iced coffee. Service was fast and friendly. It's counter service and you can take a number to dine in--though there's limited indoor and outdoor seating. The ambiance is an air conditioned shop with nice natural lighting near Georgetown with plenty of shops to wander to nearby. They also have merch--like a Habibi bucket hat--that you can purchase to capture the vibe.
Breakfast pita was super yummy! I honestly was expecting double the portion based on the cost, so was a bit shocked to see only half the pita. After getting over that initial disappointment, the taste was great and offered a great deal of flavor. The labneh soft serve is fantastic. The addition of EVOO, sea salt and pomegranate drizzle was a great touch to the already flavorful and tart base. Also felt very refreshing on a sunny day.
Came here with a friend to do some work in a different setting. Definitely super crowded and can get very loud indoors. There's a lot of seating indoors but can be a little hard if you're looking for a quieter atmosphere. They also have a couple of seats outdoors. The pastries were almost barren/nearly sold out, but definitely saw and have had previously the chicken shawarma pita sandwich which was delicious! This time I ordered the Halawa Honey which was a bit too sweet, but it was a nice twist of flavor and you could taste the tahini. My friend ordered the Baklawa Mocha which was a little too icy and I felt had too much milk. It drowned out the other flavors which was a bit disappointing.

We had a late reservation, and when we got there, the server told us they were holding two pizza crusts just for us because THAT WAS ALL THEY HAD LEFT, never to be made again. So, it won't necessarily help a future visitor, but nonetheless, I am fairly sure everything you get here is darn near guaranteed to be 5-stars. The pizzas were phenomenal, but there was plenty we had that is going to be staying on the menu. All the different mezze we snacked on were wonderful, highlighted by the humble hummus. Which... not so humble here... was incredible. We dipped all our pizza crusts in it, which the menu highly recommended. The cucumber salad was alot a fresh highlight, with a bright dressing, lots of colorful inclusions to excite your eyes, and fresh veggies throughout. We didnt partake in dessert, but the bakery was still well stocked with choices even near the end of the day. I'm sure I'll be back to Yellow, and they'll be doing something different but amazing. OK, the food here is pretty good, but I was pretty disappointed by the wait times here on the weekend. As I was coming from out of town, I didn't know the popularity or hype. It is so loud and so crowded inside that it makes my skin crawl. Food ordering took a long time and we were in the line for brunch, but by the time we got to counter, we were five minutes past that time and they already stopped the brunch menu so we had to do lunch. The pita we had was great it was super fluffy. The chicken was very flavorful. I was just really off-put by the line management and how long the waits were.

Quantum. call me Ishmael Call me famished. Some hours ago--never mind how long precisely--having little or no provisions in the pantry, and nothing particular to interest me at home, I thought I would stroll about Georgetown and see the Levantine offerings of the city. It is a way I have of driving off the spleen and regulating the digestion. Whenever I find myself growing grim about the mouth; whenever it is a damp, drizzly November in my soul; whenever I find myself involuntarily pausing before mediocre sandwich shops, and bringing up the rear of every uninspired lunch line; and especially whenever my hunger gets such an upper hand of me, that it requires a strong moral principle to prevent me from deliberately stepping into the street, and methodically knocking people's hats off--then, I account it high time to get to Yellow as soon as I can. This is my substitute for pistol and ball. With a philosophical flourish Cato throws himself upon his sword; I quietly take to the cafe. There is nothing surprising in this. If they but knew it, almost all men in their degree, some time or other, cherish very nearly the same maritime longing towards a perfectly wood-fired pita. Stand at the counter of Yellow, your eyes fixed upon that golden, puffy vessel, blistered from the hearth. Why did the old Persians hold the sea holy? Why did the Greeks give it a separate deity? I found my answer when I plunged into the hummus--a swirling, creamy expanse of whipped chickpea, earthy za'atar, and rich sesame. As every one knows, meditation and tahini are wedded for ever. The pita, warm and impossibly soft, served as my vessel, navigating the golden pools of olive oil just as a Nantucket ship cuts through the Atlantic. There is magic in that dough, pulling you away from the shore of the mundane and into a deeper, richer abyss of flavor. If you are feeling a damp drizzle in your soul, do not take to the sea to drive off the spleen. Take to Yellow. Five stars. read more

Ughh this is a hard review to write because I don't think I did Yellow completely right; at the same time, I do have some valid complaints. First mistake: we went on a Saturday early-ish afternoon. Not only were most of the pastries sold out, the line was long, the store was packed, and there was no seating available. Second? mistake: as overstimulated as I was, I forgot to order the Batata Tots; we also should have gotten one of their fresh, wood-fired pitas and soft serves, so sad. BUT here are my thoughts on what we did get: - Sumac & Lemon Kouign-amann: The exterior was crispy, flaky, caramelized perfection. Unfortunately, the inside filling almost made me gag- the eggy essence was so strong and did not vibe well with the extreme citrus flavor. Also, I couldn't really appreciate the sumac. - Pistachio Basbousa (Palestinian olive oil cake): I loved the dense, syrup-soaked cake and ample pistachio topping. Definitely on the sweeter side, but I enjoyed it. - Baklawa Mocha Latte (roasted walnut, rose, orange blossom): Honestly, not sure I tasted all of the promised notes, but I guess there were slight floral tones. Not sweet at all. Ambiance is overall nice with indoor and outdoor seating, laptops are not allowed. Service is fast for the bakery once you are through the line, it took more time understandably for the latte. 5/10 can't recommend right now, will definitely give it another try the next time I'm in DC. read more

The line was very long but worth the wait. Service was quick and food didn't take too long to come out. Inside was very crowded as well. The falafel pita was very yummy, kinda spicy but very flavorful. The pita brea and hummus was well seasoned and one of my favs. However the bbq lb pita was too sweet imo. The hibiscus drink paired very well with the food, a little tart but good. read more
If you're coming here and not getting the Za'atar egg croissant, what are you doing? I totally understand why people are lining up here the moment this cafe opens because this is a breakfast banger. Had a very good first experience here. Came around 2pm on a Sunday. Parking surprisingly easy. Counter service line was pretty quick. The wood fired pita was fantastic. The flavors inside paired very well, but the lamb itself, while tender, was pulled and didn't have enough to hold up to the rest of the ingredients. At times felt it was pulled beef it that makes sense. I'd love for the lamb to be almost kebab chunks for it to stand out a bit more. There's a massive line to this cafe for a reason. Although packed, inside the cafe was cute and lively. We thankfully got seating outside, but definitely lucky since there was a constant influx of excited customers. (So reserve or plan to come early if you'd like to sit and eat!) The peanut dalgona was perfectly sweet! I hoped for a bit of a stronger peanut flavor, but still a delicious coffee. We also had the cauliflower pita, corn labne, and baklawa-- which were all out-of-the-park flavorful!! My only regret is not getting a pack of the baklawa to take home. Loveee coming here! Whenever people visit from out of state and want to go to DC, we bring them to Yellow. Heck, my boyfriend and I made a detour while cycling just to eat here mid-ride! Storefront is super cute, love the branding. Lines are usually always long and it gets packed, but service is quick. The best option is to have one person scout for seats while one person waits in line to order + grab the food. read more
Such a great place to grab a quick bite for a snack! I shared the burnt eggplant (not) pizza and it was perfect. It had such a smokey flavor to the eggplant and the red peppers gave it a nice tartness. It also came with the chili oil that I asked for on the side since the person I was with doesn't like the spice and it was a great addition for people who like it spicy. It had garlic in it so it was flavorful on top of being spicy. We also tried the tamarind tea and it was VERY sour so we added some sugar and it was perfect. The place is small so I recommend making reservations if you want to sit inside, but the tables outside are first come first serve so you can just order your food to-go. read more
Yellow had been on my radar for a while since its appearance in "Somebody Feed Phil." I knew, when watching that program, that the Breakfast Batatas were an inevitable part of my destiny. So after visiting family in DC, we made sure Yellow was a stop for us before heading to the airport to go home to L.A. To say we were not disappointed is to way oversimplify the joy we experienced eating the baked goods and batata. We loved everything and felt like we were truly indulging in unique treats, done so well, we'd have a hard time finding anything as good anywhere else. No reservations here - You get in the line to order and hopefully by the time you get your food, there'll be a table or space somewhere for you to eat it. (We got lucky.) The house-made pita and hummus...among the best we've head. The Orange Blossom Croissant (I mean I just want to eat those words, and the pastry itself lived up to that desire.) And of course the breakfast batatas, which we got a side of. These were truly a destination food, worthy of going out of your way to eat, and perhaps even build a trip to the D.C. area around just to make sure you experience them. THEY WERE SO GOOD! The drink options are unique too...I had the Halawa Latte to try and stick with the Levantine theme of the place. It was pretty good but tasted a bit more like a regular latte without too strong or noticeable halva element to it. I'd probably try something else to drink next time. The place was crowded, hard to find a seat, and there was quite a wait to get into the single bathroom...so plan your time accordingly so you don't stress if you need to be somewhere else. BUT DEFINITELY GO HERE. We'll be stopping in again next time we're in D.C. read more
Everything about this spot is AMAZING!! The coffee is delicious the pastries are unmatched. You have to get in line early in the morning to even be able to try them. We got the hummus which was some of the best I have tried, and the chicken shawarma in the pita wrap was so much perfectly flavored I never thought of labneh ice cream existing but I wish I could eat this every single day!! read more

Yellow is popular for a reason! The food is amazing! However, due to the popularity the food quality is going down. Came on a Sunday and despite the crowds, service moves pretty quickly but seating may vary. I always order the Lamb Pita, Red Shara Hummus, Shatta Batata and I noticed the food wasn't as great as I remembered. I'd still recommend but beware food can be hit or miss. read more

Yellow doesn't miss, and a few dishes make the case louder than others. The batata is the sleeper hit -- crispy on the outside, almost creamy inside, seasoned just enough that it doesn't need the shatta drizzled on top, though you'll want it there anyway for the kick. The lamb is rich and well-spiced without tipping into heavy, and the steak pita gives you that same wood-fired char you'd hope for from a spot doing everything in a 700-degree oven. Both are elevated by the pita itself -- genuinely one of the best textures in the city right now. Chewy, blistered, sturdy enough to hold everything without turning gummy. The hummus rounds it out and honestly could carry a meal on its own -- smooth, well-balanced, not one-note like so many versions in this city tend to be. Order the batata as a starter, then let the lamb, steak pita, and hummus do the rest of the work. read more
Visited Yellow the Cafe on my first DC trip and it did not disappoint. It offers a fusion of French inspired and Middle Eastern flavors. Space was limited as this spot is highly popular for good reason, but we managed to snag a table by the window while we waited for our food. Food: I ordered the smoked amba chicken pita which came with salad herbs, onions, and tahini. It had a smoky and earthy flavor profile, but it was balanced well with sauces and spices. We also ordered the shatta batata (potatoes cut in cube form, battered and fried in shawarma spices) and they were delectable. Drinks: I tried a dirty chai latte which I recently learned means a regular chai with a shot of espresso mixed in and I really enjoyed it! Next time I visit I want to try their pastries, particularly their Palestinian dish, the Pistachio Basbousa (olive oil cake). read more
THIS WAY HABIBIS INDEED. gosh the arab representation in DC is UNREAAAAAL. As a SoCal native, seeing all the immense support for levantine and palestinian businesses in the DMV is an absolute fresh air, and all you gotta do is TASTE THE FOOD!! The lebna soft serve is so so delicious, reminiscent of tart frozen yogurt... but the pomegranate molasses is just perfect with it. BUT THE COOKIE???? we came at around 3pm on a saturday afternoon and waited about 25 minutes in line. luckily it was nice weather out and didn't end up raining even though it was supposed to! it was super crowded inside and we had to be strategic to get a table for the four of us. we got the urfa pepita crunch, the crispy falafel pita, and the shatta batata. we also got a couple other pitas and the pistachio soft serve. given how crowded it was, we had to wait another ~25 minutes for our food. the food itself was delicious!! the homemade pita that they make in house with their brick oven was amazing- so soft and fresh. my friend got the hot fried chicken pita, which they said was only available for a limited time, and while it was difficult to bite into, it was amazing too! we loved the falafel- my friend and i split one falafel pita between the two of us and it was the perfect amount of food paired with a bit of the urfa pepita labne dip and the shatta batata. i would definitely say that the wait was worth it. some of the best falafel pita i think i've had! the pistachio ice cream tasted just like vanilla however read more
This place was packed! I came on a Sunday and the line was out the door, but I still wanted to try it and it was worth the wait. I got the halawa honey latte and I loved it. It was such a different flavor of coffee that you can't find anywhere else. It had a subtle savory flavor that was soooo tasty. Innovative Lebanese cuisine with delicate flavors. The lamb pita was incredibly delicious with the perfect seasonings, fresh ingredients, and pickled vegetables. Pastry case also looked delectable. Coffees were unique and new flavors - especially enjoyed the golden date latte. Service was relatively quick considering the amount of orders they had! Line was out the door. It was quite crowded for lunch time, so it was difficult to find seats. Parking in Georgetown is free street parking for a max of 2 hours. read more

Busy and popular place. Takes credit card. It's pretty expensive. The line moves quickly but there is limited and not much room inside for seating. There's outdoor seating. I would take a friend here but I prob wouldn't come here regularly. Excellent pita bread. It has nice chew and texture. The labne (yogurt) with pita is a good. Za'atar- croissant with labne ($7.5)- it's looks nice. The exterior of the the croissant is full of herbs with yogurt inside. Chicken pita ($17)- pretty good sandwich. Chicken is cooked well, soft. The chicken flavor is not very strong. BBQ Lamb shoulder pita ($20)- actual bbq sauce on shredded lamb. The bbq sauce is super sweet. BBQ sauce is out of place. I would skip this Shatta batata ($13)- hash brown tater tots- potato cubes deep fried, it's cooked well. It comes with a mayo dipping sauce which is average. I would skip the dipping sauce. The potato with hummus is good. Red shatta hummus with pita chips ($11)-th hummus is probably the best item they have. Skip then pita chips, it's too salty. The hummus is super creamy. Yes, they have a few items that are GF, even soft serves. I always get the Chicken Shawarma (without the pita). They unfortunately do NOT have GFO for pizzas.

I don't remember any stairs - I think it is pretty accessible .... forgive me if i'm wrong!
Do they serve halal meat?
No. Only the soujuk sausage. Staff confirmed all other meat is not halal.
