What better way to celebrate a milestone review (1500th) than with a Yelp Event with one of your best friends?! She joked that I needed a carnivore to take to the event, and I was stoked for the Surf part of the listed Surf and Turf. Though unfortunately, the surf was not there though mentioned in the event details. I've recently reintroduced some meat to my diet and prefer seafood. There was only two types of samples, so we didn't get to try much. A fellow Yelper mentioned there was a holiday sample of turkey and stuffing, which would be great to try for the upcoming holiday. Bummer! Though shopping the store to see what there was to offer was nice; although it is pretty cramped as there was quite a few Yelpers at this Meat & Mingle. My +1 and I found it hard to try the samples as there was only two tables, but did our best. Decent flavor and I think if you want to shop for speciality meats, then this is a great store for you! Always love when Yelp has a donation drive, and loved getting a tote bag for donating! Glad to see the donations overflowing and hope it helps those in the need. Thanks to Yelp Phoenix CM Bailey and the staff at Wild Fork for making this "Meat & Mingle" happen. The light bites were quite delightful and the store is beautiful. It was a quick event where only a few high top tables were available for use. A majority of us stood in place or walked around with our sample plates of food. At check in, you were given a swag bag if you donated food for the food drive. Wild Fork had a variety of useful items to give away as swag: a wine/bottle opener, a pair of tongs, an oven mitt, and a tote bag if I recall correctly . The store was nice and bright. The scavenger hunt was fun! An employee was giving out samples of their Chocolate and Hazelnut Beignets so of course I had to try it! They sell boxes of them too. Although I would have loved to give this event 5 stars, it's gonna be a 3.5 for me. Company was great and the food samples from Little Miss BBQ were delicious! However, I was a bit underwhelmed with the tight spaces right in front of the entrance. It was a good time no doubt, but I thought it was a little odd to have such a limited space swarming with Yelpers! I only had the 2 sample plates, and I'm not sure if there was a third one somewhere, but I was still slightly starving when I left. =/ I was probably in and out in about an hour. Wild Fork is a new Meat and Seafood Market in Ahwatukee, so I was excited to check it out as part of a YES Yelp event! I wasn't sure what to expect before I arrived but there was a description of sampling some surf and turf and a scavenger hunt. When I arrived there was a small line to check-in and I received a choice of gifts (can always use another large bag!) and an Olipop (first time trying one- cream soda mmmmm good) They were grilling plates with a few different samples outside- BBQ ribs, beef tenderloin with side bites of plantain and potato. I heard there were other foods like turkey and salmon inside but the station was not active when I was inside the shop looking around and crushing the scavenger hunt (with the help of a few friendly elites!). I've been to a few meat shops near me in Gilbert but this store was about 2-3x the size. They really did a great job with the interior! It was open and spacious between freezers and sections. The store was well-lit without being blinding. The signage was great- larger fonts, different colors to indicate different cuts of meat and seafood. The freezer sections had good translucent doors so you could easily see contents. The prices and descriptions were easy to read. Besides cuts of beef/pork/veal/poultry/seafood, they also had exotic proteins like ostrich and alligator. Usually not my go-to but great for others who can't these items elsewhere. The employees were friendly and helpful and looked to be genuinely excited to talk to us about their business. The best part of the night was saying hello to a few familiar faces and meeting a handful of elites I've not met before. I wish some of these events had more of an icebreaker or interactive game to help us meet each other better. The only downside was the event was quite crowded with limited tables. Everyone was had their food and swag and no real place to sit it down. There was no seating for people who may not have wanted to stand for 1-2hrs or have mobility issues. Love when there are events that shine a spotlight on naturally sourced, well-raised meat brands. Wild Fork Market, located in Ahwatukee at the buzzing Ray & 202 intersection, is hard to miss. The parking is plentiful and the store itself is huge. We were treated to a tasting of pork ribs with plantains and beef with mashed potatoes, along with some fun, flavorful sodas. I chose the pork, and it was grilled BBQ perfection -- tender, smoky, and beautifully paired with the fried plantain. Inside, the selection surprised me in the best way. They carry everything: poultry, beef, lamb, seafood, veal, and even specialty meats like elk and rabbit. There's a wide array of wild-caught and ethically farmed options, all clearly labeled. Pricing is reasonable for the quality, and the variety makes it an easy one-stop shop for any meal plan. This was a great showcase for Wild Fork, as it allowed them to share with Elite Yelpers on all the different types of premium meats and seafood they carry. I like that we were able to collect and bring in donations of canned goods to give back to the community. Once I scanned to participate in the scavenger hunt, (touche), a clever way to get us all involved with exploring the store. Found some interesting items, such as kangaroo, mini pigs, and more that will definitely have me returning back. I did pick up and purchase some Memphis-style barbecue sauce along with Carolina BBQ sauce as I'm preparing for a pre-holiday cookout. Also picked up some organic culinary purée that they had in the 50% off basket. Little Miss BBQ prepared the food items themselves, which consisted of tenderloin and ribs. The ribs are on point and I like the tenderloin as it was done more the way I like (fatty and chuey vs lean and dry) but still solid. A few more pop-up tables outside would've helped, but no complaint as I was being the social butterfly, reconnecting and connecting with people all throughout the event. read more

Very good prices on many items here & they do carry exotic meats like alligator, kangaroo, & wild boar, just to name a few. I was expecting this to be a restaurant, but it turned out to be a grocery store I'd never heard of before -- and honestly, that was a pleasant surprise! They have every type of meat you could imagine, from steaks to seafood, and some of their prices are definitely worth shopping for. The store is clean, well-organized, and reminds me of a mix between Aldi and WinCo. Jimmy was awesome -- he went out of his way to introduce himself and explain the products, share some history behind them, and even break down the pricing. What a great employee! He was working hard and absolutely deserves a raise (and maybe a year off with paid vacation ). He really sold me on the store -- not that it needed selling after I saw how great it was! The DJ was playing great music, and the BBQ ribs with au gratin potatoes were . The rib sauce was incredible -- honestly, one of the best I've ever tasted. This was a pretty nice Yelp Elite event. I didn't leave hungry--there was plenty of good food for everyone, and the little game where you had to answer questions by looking around the store was fun. I did think it was going to be more of a sit-down meal, but that was my own misunderstanding, I suppose. I wish there had been areas to sit down even with the samples, as everyone was just kind of holding plates and milling about eating. Overall, it wasn't the best Yelp event I've been to, but it was a nice opportunity to have some good food and experience a new business. read more

This was such a unique and fun event! I love that they also partnered with Hope for Hunger food drive, and seemed to have collected quite a bit of donations for the upcoming holidays! Free canvas tote bags were given out for people that brought donations. I've driven by Wild Fork a few times and was excited to take part in this event, especially looking forward to checking out what kind of "Wild" products they sold. The scavenger hunt was fun, and helped me learn more about the business and what they offer. One of the unique items they carried was kangaroo, which was interesting, and I might have to go back and try it! The ribs were INCREDIBLE, very tender and flavorful. I also LOVED the plantains on the side. At one point they also had beignets which were a nice sweet treat! One of the many reasons that I love being a Yelp Elite is because I discover things that I normally wouldn't on my own. This event is a prime example of that! I live just about 2 miles away from the place and I never knew it existed. I have a Costco membership and like to shop at Trader Joe's, sprouts, Whole Foods, but it's too big for me when I just wanna walk in and walk out and get some protein. I had no idea that something like this existed and I was pleasantly surprised! My parents own restaurants back east, and so I was more than delighted to see that I was able to buy Spanish octopus, mussels in white wine sauce, and even some dog treats that were really healthy for my dog, not to mention on sale. I will definitely be coming back here on a biweekly basis to pick up my protein and sample the exotic meats. The last time I had kangaroo was in 2011 when I went to Australia had no idea that I could get it in Arizona! I highly recommend this place. There's so many options for proteins. I also bought the bacon cheddar burgers with the seasoned brioche buns --(there goes my summer 2027 body) Honestly, thank you to Bailey and all of the other Yelp employees that made this event happen. Would have loved to try a few more of the diversity of options offered as there were many fun things inside! Loved the tenderloin with cream and cheese gratins. Very tender. Loved the chimichuri sauce with it! The smoked rib with barbecue sauce and plantain was okay, not my favorite because I don't love BBQ sauce but I know others loved it so probably personal taste. They ran out of salmon and beignets pretty early. The turkey meal in a bag was a bit bland but an interesting idea. I was pleasantly delighted by the grape flavored probiotic soda! So good! The environment was pleasant, well lit, beautifully organized inside. Loved the variety of items from common and unique meats to seafood, frozen foods, and even pet treats that looked delectable! Wild Fork Foods is a great spot for high quality frozen meats, seafood, and more, perfect for picking up in store or ordering for delivery with products that defrost in minutes. At today's event, I tried several items, and the ribs with barbecue sauce were by far the highlight of the night, super tender with the perfect smoky sweet flavor. The Brazilian peeled tenderloin had great texture and quality, though I personally would have liked a bit more chimichurri for extra flavor. The turkey in a bag and blackened salmon were also solid choices and nicely prepared. Interesting event. Haven't been to one like this before. We checked in at the front and donated our food for charity. It's a nice holiday feeling to donate. After that, they had a table with some small goodies like a reusable bag or a glass cup or some other items. You could choose one give away item. They had a grill out front where they grilled some meats. The meats included some small snack sized ribs and steak. I think I could taste a lot of the cooking gas in the steak meat. There were mashed potatoes and plantains also on the respective snack plates. Inside, they had chocolate dessert puff donut. There was also another flavor too. I think it was a fruit flavor. I did not know what I was expecting as I walked up to Wild Fork. I was not sure if it was a restaurant or a market. And it turned out to be an actual mini supermarket! I was impressed as soon as I walked in to see so many different kinds of meats and seafood. I was just enjoying and exploring, and really enjoyed each moment. The staff made it extra special as they were super kind, helpful, and openly answered questions. I really enjoyed the samples, especially the brazilian tenderloin with chimichurri seasoning. It had a great flavor and it made me keep going back for more. I would have loved to be one of the raffle winners for the entire meal, but getting a sample was amazing and had made me want to go back especially once I move back to the Phoenix area! Another great local business meetup opportunity. The food was well prepared by Arizona's favorite little miss bbq with amazing meat selections from Wild Fork. There was an amazing turnout and we appreciate the food selection gift we were given (takes away all food indecision). The front area was a little cramped but the weather was amazing out for this social. We definitely enjoyed the DJ mixing music but wish there were more tables to stand and socialize. Thank you to the amazing Yelpers who put together the Meat and Mingle event! This event was held at a local meat and seafood market. There was and array of swag being given out including a Wild Fork wine glass, Yelp stress ball, and Olipops. Because of the event name, I expected to learn about and try various meats. To my surprise, I was only able to try two different meats since the indoor samples ran out sometime around 6:30pm. This was disappointing, especially since I came over right after work and was quite hungry. The meat quality was good and prepared well. There were a few high tops however, due to limited space, most people were crowded in front of the locations entrance or spilling into the parking lot. I believe this event has the potential to be great if adjustments are implemented that will ensure the comfort of the attendees. read more

This was a welcome excursion for me. Without the Yelp event I don't think I would have ever made it to Wild Fork, even though their products are right up my alley. I loved what lil miss bbq did with the peeled tenderloin and short ribs, tender, slightly smoky and tasty! The scavenger hunt was just the right thing to get the feel for the store. I was happy to see some of the tougher to find meats and seafood. I now have another source for picanha and wagyu and I am extremely happy for that. Delicious food!! I really loved the scavenger hunt and how they provided Olipop. Most of the events have alcohol but as someone who is allergic to alcohol and can't drink, I often miss out on any opportunity of fun drinks :/ There were only a few high top tables for people to eat at and was quite a small venue for the number of people being hosted. However, the food was really good. The tenderloin and ribs were cooked perfectly and these were some of the best potatoes I've ever had. I personally loved the plantains but I understand it's not everyone's cup of tea! I also really appreciated that there was a food drive for food pantries facing troubles with SNAP, especially with the holidays coming around. I was visiting from Miami and got the chance to join a Yelp Elite event here in Phoenix -- and wow, what a fun experience! Wild Fork hosted us for a delicious tasting featuring some of their amazing meats. They were incredibly tender and flavorful. I do wish there had been a bit more sauce, but honestly, they were amazing either way. The blackened salmon, Thanksgiving-in-a-bag turkey, and pork tenderloin weren't my favorites. They didn't quite wow me like the ribs did, but it was still nice to try them. The beignets were a sweet way to end the night soft, fluffy, and filled with hazelnut or berry goodness. Inside the Wild Fork store, there were so many options to choose from! What a cool meat and mingle this was! I wasn't sure what to expect but the place has a wonderful variety of meats to choose from including exotic meats that you can cook up. That is if you have that skill. We waited in line and I picked up a kitchen mitt. I could smell the yummy aroma of meat. My first sample was a delicious tender meaty rib with a plantain. Wowza! Great flavor and perfectly grilled. I couldn't wait to try the other sample. While I was chomping on the rib, we did the "hunting" game. Learned a few things about the Wild Fork (how you can purchase items, how' the meats are prepared, etc)! Finally tried the other meat and it was also just as amazing as the rib! This one came with a side of melt-in-your-mouth potatoes or potato fingerlings? Not sure exactly. But whoever was grilling/cooking was a master at it! Wild Fork is a market specializing in meats and seafoods. They use a flash freeze method which allows the customer to cook their meat faster. The event was great and packed with Yelpers and their guests. The event had a food drive which many contributed to and received a tote bag as a thank you gift. The beverages were Olipop, a new kind of soda with probiotics, botanicals, and plant fiber. The event offered small plates of spareribs with plantains and Brazilian tenderloin with potatoes. My plus one said the meats were delicious and super tender. Non meat eaters had potatoes and plantains of which I was one. I visited the inside of the market. This event was different from the usual Yelp events. It was a grocery store, and I don't think a lot of yelpers knew that. The space was relatively small. But if you concentrate on the concept and meeting other Elites as well as focusing on the food drive, it message for a good evening. Seeing all of the people donating non-perishable items was a delight. The area that housed the collections was overflowing. And that was great to see this holiday season. I arrived around 6:10 PM, and there was a long line. But it moved fairly quickly, and I got a chance to see Bailey's lovely smiling face at check-in and received both Yelp and Wild Fork swag which was great. And Little Miss BBQ staff was manning the grille and providing samples of ribs and cuts of beef. I was told that the meat was from Wild Fork. It was very tender and it tasted absolutely phenomenal. It melted in your mouth. I'm not a beef person, but it was satisfying. A DJ was on the outside spinning times. The staff at Wild Fork was all smiley faced and willing to answer any questions that we had. Inside, the space was relatively small. What a fun Elites Event at Wild Fork! It was a really great way to check out the business and all that they have to offer. We were able to sample different meats, like ribs and beef tenderloin, all prepared by Little Miss Barbecue. The only thing that was a bummer is that there was nowhere to sit and enjoy those samples. The space was pretty limited. I'm someone with mobility issues, so this would have been a nice addition. I basically just ended up leaving after I checked everything out. But I recommend stopping in, especially if you like different types of meats. They even offer specialty items like ostrich and kangaroo. There are also several ways to order. You can order online for pick-up in the store, or you can just stop in. Make sure to pay them a visit, especially if you're in the Ahwatukee area. read more

Wild Fork What a great night to have some smoked meat, the weather was, fantastic. The DJ was great, and played some great music. I'm so glad that I was introduced to the store and to hear about all the other locations that they have in different states. I like that they had air chill chicken, regular chicken, turkeys, turkey breast, other poultry, including duck and pheasant. Also the exotic meats like kangaroo, elk, venison, ostrich, Frog legs, Rabit and the list goes on. They had a great selection of Frozen fish, flashed frozen chunks, as well as whole. I like the assortment of the seafood, pork, frozen vegetables and even pizzas. They have a process, it's called blast freezing to minimize the crystallization. We grabbed a variety of meat and are looking forward to cooking it. If you're ambitious and wanna try other things, grab some of the seasonings. A big shout out to, Brandon, Scott, Jimmy, Melissa, and a couple employees that I didn't get their names. Another awesome Yelp Event at Wild Fork. We enjoyed ribs, Brazilian tenderloin and oven roasted potatoes. Wild Fork meat and seafood market offer many different fresh cuts of meat and a variety of seafood. I'm pleased to be introduced to them before the upcoming holiday season. This is an event I wasn't expecting but was pleasantly surprised by! I was just talking to my husband about maybe visiting a butcher shop sometime and then I got into this event. Like other yelpers, I wasn't exactly sure what to expect here but I'm usually down and ready for anything. I arrived early, thank goodness, and got my name tag and the scavenger hunt qr code. I talked to and took video of dj whereswuholla playing some chill vibey music. The outside food wasn't ready yet so I did the hunt with some other folks inside the store, I waited to submit though in case I misinterpreted a question. I was one of the lucky ones to get the turkey & stuffing, salmon, and chocolate beignet by being inside the store when the employees got the table going. The salmon was probably the best I've ever had in AZ! When I was outside, I directed a few people indoors to find the turkey etc, I was surprised it ran out so fast and then they put the table away. The hunt was actually pretty cool and got everyone walking around exploring and taking photos/inventory of things they might not have noticed normally. I made a couple new connections and helped them with the hunt and submit my answers. I spent some time outside trying the ribs & tenderloin, both of which were so tender and easy (but messy) to eat! I really liked both. Like others said, it was a very busy event and there weren't many places to stand out of the way but I made do and ended up making a few new Yelp friends. The raffle started at 7:15 and there were 5 winners, I was one of them! I was shocked to say the least. I got married the day before this event (11/11) and this was a lovely surprise to take home.
