Mangia & Bevi has this nice and cozy vibe and it is a perfect venue for a gathering of new and old Yelpers and have a sample of what they offers. Since there were so many first time attendants and the lack of communication, I believed a lot of people came here expect to have a "brunch'. As an experienced YEE attendant myself, I do know that 90% of YEE is more about socializing with peers and sampling what our host offers. I had chicken and waffle at Cluck Cluck and dessert at Neo before attending this event. As I did not really have a chance to get near any food, aside from this one mouthful of nutella pizza sample. Teresa C also nice enough to offer me a spoonful of quiche which I was really thankful. I kind of feeling sorry for Mangi & Bevi's waitstaff when everyone trying to attack them for food. Ended up they just leave it on the 2 big tables and just let hungry yelpers fought it out. It was a mob scene. I hope moving forward we can all learn from this experience and organize future event accordingly. Good thing was there was never any line at the drink station. I ended up just drinking glasses of "juice" and chilling out with new and old friends near the bar area. Hoarding the pitcher of drinks and boxing out others....

It's located in office building and I was thinking whaaaaat?! No good could come of this! Did they want us to secretly photocopy some stuff on the side?! Well when I entered the space I was amazed - it's so gorgeous inside! Definitely my design aesthetic- exposed brick walls, dark and sexy lighting, gorgeous light fixtures- I was in home decor throws of ecstasy! Lovely drinks to start off the mingling and put you in a good mood....cuz you'd need it in a few minutes....just wait for it... Sadly I'm not sure what animals some of these people were raised by but I'm pretty sure this restaurant will never host a Yelp event again. It was like people hadn't eaten for days the way they attacked the food! Scavengers! Following the servers around with a hunger in their eyes that I've only ever seen on The Walking Dead. I only managed to try some blueberry dessert thing and the quiche...and only b/c another kind yelper gave me one of his! I was too scared to try and even attempt to forge my way in to get anything- i didn't want people mistaking my hands for chicken fingers!! I needed my hands to drive home later. A pack of hungry wolves was surely disappointing to me and my plus one, but at the same time we also got to see a horror show....so maybe it was a win? Great job Chantal and Kris for picking this restaurant as I would probably never have gone to it on my own. It was a great event regardless of the vultures circling about.

We got customized printed lattes, mocha, cappuccinos, with Yelp logos on them, SUPER COOL! The pineapple bun with ham an egg was something interesting as well as the maple syrup cotton candy, something you don't see very often! Amy and Kris sure started up the party tonight with their karaoke skills! I absolutely had a great time, and sure everyone that attended had one too!! Looking forward to more Markham events to come because this one was absolutely amazing!!!!

They had the back section for our event, which it was super cool. Janice opened up and let us in. There were bath boom kits to be chosen from ($46) and they also gave out the incensed sticks kits ($36). A refreshments table was set up with some drinks and cookies. Deb was our trainer that giving us whole instruction step by step. A kit box has all ingredients I had no ideas what they were. We actually could make 4 huge bath booms within 1 hour. And still have some leftover. It's pretty fair price amount. It's a good place to come for the ingredients or the products in the store. We could buy different types of kits, like candles, incensed sticks, or bath booms. Or purchase the completed products. I would personally like the kits. As per a helper, we got 10% off on the day. This is a must come place.

Yummi Candles located in the Distillery District is a Canadian business where all their products…read moreare proudly made in Canada. With 2 locations in Toronto, they also have a warehousing and distribution facility in Mississauga. Although they sell candles as their name suggests, the store also has home and body products (hand soaps, essential oils, etc.), stationary, DIY kits, and workshops as well. They also have all things wedding if you are in need of candles and candle holders for your big day. You are also able to purchase their products online on their website as well. The store is located in a busy street within the Distillery District that is pedestrian only. Upon entering Yummi Candles, the store has a large variety of different candles with different scents and sizes. At the back of the store, Yummi Candles holds their workshops. They havescented candle making workshops where you can make about 8 candles. For this particular Yelp event, we were invited to a complimentary DIY workshop at Yummi Candles where we were led to make bath bombs using their kits. We were also given a DIY incense stick kit to bring home as well. The DIY bath bomb kits are priced at $48 while the DIY incense kits are priced $36 in the store. Once checked in for the Yelp event, we picked up our name tags (there was a special name tag for Yelp Elite All Stars!). I also got extra Yelp swag (a face roller) as I was an All Star. To the side of the space there were drinks as well as popcorn and light snacks. There was also an area to put your bags as well. Taking a seat we waited until everyone was there. As the workshop started, we were able to choose between 3 bath bomb scents as well as 3 incense scents. I chose the jasmine and lemon honey bath bomb scent and the smoked cypress and spruce incense scent. Yummi Candles staff were there to guide us through making the bath bombs, making sure to help us along the way if we had any questions. The workshop was fun as we mixed the ingredients together while socializing with other Yelpers (plus the scents smelled so nice!). At the end, we made 4 bath bombs in total. We were also given bags with more swag at the end of the workshop. Yummi Candles was also nice enough to give us Yelpers a 10% discount if we wanted to buy anything from their store afterwards. Overall, a fun event this afternoon making bath bombs! Thank you to Yummi Candles as well as our Yelp CM, Janice, and Yelp intern, Elsie, for another great Yelp event.

Super great event at The Opium Bar tonight. Loved the Asian…read morefusion vibe of the venue and really enjoyed the cocktails they mixed up. The honey dew cocktail actually tastes like honey dew! To me, the opium tastes a bit like Bailey's. They also brew their own IPAs at the Opium Bar, what a special treat! I love trying out craft breweries in Toronto so I especially enjoyed the fact that they have their wine beer. The food here goes really well with a night of drinking, I definitely could see myself coming back to grab drinks and some bites with friends (especially considering how jealous they were of me after seeing my Instagram posts!) Cheers to the Bandit Brewery crew for taking care of us throughout the night. I can see why this is the new Toronto hot spot for delicious new brews. I loved their wheat beer the Hassel-Hef, perfect citrusy summer brew, and the apricot beer, refreshing with a nice tart flavour. However, nothing can beat those deliciously amazing fried cheese curds. Fried cheese ftw!

It's got a great patio out front in a cool industrial vibe in this converted auto garage. Great selection of brews to pick from and those damn beer battered cheese curds is my new drug. The staff were great and made sure we had boxes of food in front of us at all times. Super fun as always catching up with fellow Elites.
