This had some amazing views of the snow capped hills and mountains of Lake District. The bedroom was cosy and spotless, with tea/coffee making facility, fresh milk available in little fridge at stairs nice touch. Also hairdryer, TV and alarm clock in room . The ensuite had gorgeous L'occitane products for use. Fab!! Shower was lovely after long walk in hills. Also to help settle in is some sherry, water and home made chocolates. Yummy! Loads of walks available from the hotel. The owners are very knowledgeable of same and can give guidance on routes etc. They also can prepare packed lunches on request and even fill up ur flask. We did two walks while there. Enjoyed both very much. Also did tour of Lake, tickets available at hotel. Had dinner one night in the award winning restaurant. All I can say is it was fabulous. And was to a very high standard. The lobster mayo with trout cake starter was unbelievable. And main course local lamb was so tender and tasty. Food coma after all the courses. Breakfast is continental and frys etc.. great start to the day. Fill the bellys. And the best part is to see the local red squirrels and birds eating right outside the window from the bird feeder.

This place is incredibly charming, quaint, inviting as well as relaxing. We checked in after an…read morearduous day of hiking to be greeted by Rob, the proprietor. It is isolated, and we arrived quite hungry. Rob had procured reservations at a local pub, drove us himself there, and picked us up when we were finished. To me this was above and beyond Service, and highly commendable. Thank you, Rob, for feeding 6 hungry, weary travelers!! There is a quaint afternoon tea there, we weren't able to make it in time for this. Although, I'm sure I would've enjoyed that too. The house was charming, inviting, and had many bits of original structure, including beams. Rob was very friendly and explained to us that the house had been in his wife's family for several generations, and a guest house for several decades. The rooms were spectacular and very modern. Lighting, flooring, bedding, en suite bath were all updated with modern amenities. It is truly a family affair, as their teenage son was more than happy to help serve refreshments to us. It is a working farm, and there are sheep all around, the barn is across the way, and two small dogs roamed around keeping everyone entertained. We met another couple who had been coming to Littletown Farm Guesthouse for over 20 years on holidays. There is no question, I would definitely stay here again. I hope the opportunity arises in my future.
