This was a reasonable hostel. We stayed in one of the lodge rooms out of the main building. The room was comfy and fairly clean, although didn't insulate the room very well for sound and we could easily hear the people next door stomping around as they came in very late. There was a shortage of shower facilities at the whole hostel - the shower next to our block wasn't working and we had to wait for ages to use the one in the main building - it also had a very stong and strange smell there! There was plenty of parking. If we went back to Whangarei, we would probably look to try somewhere different, although it wouldn't be a problem to stay here again. read more
