I just moved to the neighborhood and hadn't found a new dry cleaner in the area yet. A couple weeks into moving in, we had a water leak in our closet. It saturated a lot of things, and we had about 30 items that needed to be dry cleaned. I called Yhx to see if they would be available for pickup. I gave my address, billing information, and within 15min - Harrison had arrived at my building to pickup the load of dry cleaning. Harrison was super friendly and polite and really listed to what I had to say. My landlord is reimbursing me for the dry cleaning bill, so Harrison compiled an itemized receipt before I was even charged so that I could approve the expense for my landlord. It was really excellent customer service, and I look forward to making this my new neighborhood dry cleaner. read more

AVOID AT ALL COSTS! The quality of this place is staggeringly poor, and I am honestly shocked and livid at the results. I decided to try Yhx because they had substantially better reviews on Yelp than did any other cleaners in the area. After giving them several chances, I am convinced any positive reviews for this business are either paid, or written by family members. I generally do not write negative reviews, but my experiences with Yhx were just too bad not to warn other people. On my first trip here, I dropped off about a dozen shirts, mostly dress shirts but a few casual. The collar button on one of the casual shirts had fallen off and I asked them to repair it, and the rest of the shirts I just asked to be cleaned and pressed. When the dozen shirts they had 'cleaned' were returned, at most two of them were wearable! See pictures. The collar button they had sewn onto the one shirt was about ¼" too low, creating an awkward fold when the collar was buttoned down. Another casual shirt had fine wrinkles pressed into the sleeves, a white shirt had a large black smudge on the collar, and yet another was returned with a dime-sized hole ripped through the triceps area of the sleeve! Of the remaining shirts, only one was wearable as it was given back to me, and the rest required me to spend 5-10 minutes before work every day steaming out wrinkles so that they were presentable. I took several of the shirts back to Yhx and calmly discussed my displeasure with the guy who runs the place, as my shirts were absolutely unacceptable. He told me that the wrinkles are what happen when you dry clean shirts and I should pay extra for hand ironing if I wanted my shirts to be wrinkle-free. I have been sending my shirts out to be cleaned for more than a decade and have never paid for "hand ironing". Oddly enough, I have also never had an issue with having a shirt returned wrinkles so bad that the shirt could not be worn until I came here. Yhx agreed to redo the wrinkled shirts, re-sew the collar button, and sew a patch onto the enormous hole they punched in the sleeve of my shirt. Begrudgingly, I allowed them another chance, which would prove to be a mistake. The shirt with wrinkles pressed into the sleeves looks no different after their second attempt, except they ripped the cuff button off! You would think when a cleaner is re-doing an order they badly mangled the first time, they would be especially careful not to screw it up. Apparently not! The shirt with the hole in the sleeve, meanwhile, is still unwearable. The owner's original suggestion was to patch the hole, (a solution of which I was already suspicious, since the hole was in a very visible spot). However, they did not see a patch into the hole, they cut a slice of fabric out of the sleeve around the hole and sewed the slit back together. Now, because they removed 3/4" of fabric from the diameter of the upper arm, the entire sleeve is skin-tight! So to recap: spent a ton of money, spent quite a bit of time going back and forth to the cleaner and then steaming out the shirts myself anyway, never really got a full load of wrinkle-free shirts, and had a shirt totally ruined! DO NOT GO HERE UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES! read more

The dry cleaner is now being run by a very enthusiastic and customer friendly young man, the former owner's nephew. The service has completely changed for the better. Pick up and delivery for no extra charge. Same day wash and fold. Drop it off in the morning and find it at your doorstep when you get home from work. They are now open on Sundays and take credit cards. Added bonus: The laundry smells great. Excellent dry cleaning place. Professional owner and staffs. I brought my laundry to this location to clean. I ask the owner (Harrison) that if I can come back after work to pick up my laundry cause I would need it by tomorrow. After work there's traffic I know I won't make it cause of the accident on the highway. I called and ask is it possible for them to wait for me to pick up my laundry first before they close. He immediately reply "Sure no problem we'll wait for you no rush". Let's admit this everyone will want to go home after work, nobody would like to stuck in work. Two of my favorite sweaters were ruined by this establishment. I was very upset. The owner and his wife were very belligerent when I complained. One sweater was yellow when I brought it. When I picked it up, it was a mustard color and smaller than when I had brought it in. Apparently, it had shrunk. The other sweater had also shrunk. I was shocked. I brought home a cotton blue&white pinstripe Hugo Boss suit from Lung's and discovered that the collar was wrinkled and wrongly creased. I decided to take it right back, and only then discovered on one sleeve a blue streak on the outside and blue splotches on the inside. If you looked closely, you could see that something had happened to the weave of the jacket. The blue was not a stain from outside but an enlargement of the blue stripes, which were still divided, especially if you stretched the material a bit, by white lines, only thinner ones. I am meticulous in checking my suits for spots after wearing them, and I know there were no blue splotches when I took the suit to the cleaner's. Yet the people at Lung's disclaimed all responsibility. Mr. Lung encouraged me to believe that Boss had sold me a suit made with defective material that could not withstand a normal dry cleaning. After all, this suit was one that Boss had given me as a replacement for one that did have a similar problem last year. Today I talked to the tailors at Rothman's on Park Avenue South. The consensus was that something had caught on and abraded the surface of the material of the sleeve. They also noticed a yellowing of the material (this can be seen in photos I sent to Boss and to Rothman's) around the splotches, which is an indication that the sleeve was pressed while wet. This could only have happened at the dry cleaner's. Perhaps the damage was spotted and some treatment was attempted under the mistaken impression that it was an ink stain. One reason I went to Lung's is because it is cheap. The other, and main, reason was the utter lack of negative reviews on Yelp. No more. read more
