Rice roll 4/5, green onion pancake 3/5

Was craving Taiwanese food and found this place for a quick breakfast. Ordering food is a different process compared to other places. You find a seat/ table and you scan the menu and order from there and pay on the app. It's pretty much self service which is a good thing. Along with getting the condiments and water which are posted at the center service station with all the sauces. Ordered the chicken bowl and added sausage 4/5, get this is you're hungry. Popcorn chicken 4/5, good spice and kick to it. Sticky rice roll with Chinese donut 4/5, gonna have to try the black rice version next time. Sitting at some tables can be communal as you're sitting next to someone else.

Food was good. Soy was not extra ordinary but clean and tastes like soy. Beef soup was not comparable to Lao Xi or Din Tai. Portion was good. Price point was moderately ok. Taste was really good for those rice rolls. Staff taking order were nice but they are pretty staffed so I don't understand the lag. Person who delivered our food was sweet but she couldn't answer questions.

Parking lot structure available Came on a Sunday for lunch and had to wait about 30 mins for a table. It's pretty much self service. You scan the QR code to order your food from the menu. There's a counter for self serve water and sauces, utensils etc. We tried a few different things on the menu but I think their best item is just the popular fan tuan! I love how crispy the donut is and you can add extra toppings like with an egg, sausage etc.

One of our favorite places for Taiwanese breakfast, Yi Mei should be on people's must try list. I love coming here for their fantuan which are reasonably priced and so hearty! When you head to the location you may see a long line. Don't be deterred! A majority of the patrons are there for take out. For sit down, you will order and pay first and seat yourself. Everything is priced reasonably and large portions that you'd definitely get your bang for your buck. For this visit we ordered (of course) the salty fantuan which includes egg, pork floss, Chinese donut and we added in a Chinese sausage which is more on the salty side than sweet. We also got a sausage and meat plate, an egg pancake and of course their savory soy bean milk. Everything came out quickly and tasted amazing. Definitely try out this location if you're looking for delicious food and at a great price!

Quaint Taiwanese breakfast spot located in the heart of SGV. I did find this spot through social media because of the viral salty rice roll (fan tuan), but they have a variety of other breakfast options offered ad well. I tried the fan tuan with a chinese donut and fried egg added as extra (already comes with sausage and pork floss), plus a bowl of hot soy milk - unsweetened and a chinese donut to pair with. I personally would give the food a 3.7/5, as the fan tuan is good but there is a bit of flavor lacking. However, if you add either the garlic sauce or chili oil that is offered at the self serve station, it would kick up the rating to 4.2/5. The service is quick and the staff are constantly on the go, but are quick to come to your service at a moment's call.

I would say it's easy to order your food, scan QR code and order on the website and you can pay on the phone as well which is convenient. I ordered the Chinese donut, flatbread, hot and cold soy milk, and the salty purple rice roll. It was pretty good and affordable. They are at an affordable price too. They open pretty early at 7am. The environment is very clean and utensils, napkins, sugar is self-serve.

The extra crispy youtiao makes it special. Don't forget to ask for sauce. Variety of Taiwanese breakfast looks good. Came by on a weekend afternoon and there was a lot of people waiting. The signs said that ordering online might be faster, but afterward we felt like dining in would be ok. We ordered pickup through the QR code at the restaurant and were given a 20 minute wait time without about 6 parties hanging out outside. We walked a few blocks away and saw one of our favorite fantuan places with no wait nearby! We ordered a savory purple rice fantuan with extra crispy donut and an added egg. The extra crispy was something--my partner liked it and I could have done with a regular youtiao. The flavor of the whole thing was good but nothing amazing and balance of ingredients was a bit off. The purple rice fell apart easily. We got an egg omelette which my partner really liked, and a cold soymilk which was slightly sweet and refreshing. We regret forgetting the sauce. Our friends hyped it up to us after. There's an extensive menu beyond fantuan, which includes porridge, rice plates, and soups. Seems like a good place to come to for comfort food.

We came on a Sunday morning. There was a long wait for dine-in so we opted for take out (which also had a long wait). I got the purple rice fantuan with a sausage inside. Super good!!! The wait was long but overall worth it.

Like many others here, I had to stop by to try the purple rice roll. The portion is pretty hefty so I would recommend sharing if you're looking to try other dishes. The roll can be ordered sweet or savory, and I would recommend adding protein. The beef roll is flavorful but slightly watery, so it was a bit messy to eat. My absolute fave order has to be the freshly made soy milk! Prices are extremely affordable. I can't wait to come back to try other dishes.

I really wanted to like this place. Where to start? Maybe the positive parts. Ordered via QR code to go. Email said ready in 25 mins. That's was insanely accurate. Parking was not bad. Although I think someone hit my car...if you're reading this...You suck. The food was fresh. But the portion small..this is the day before where they posted they were closed due to lack of ingredients. The customer service is ok leaning more towards improvement. I understand it's not your fault social media blew you guys up. But at the same time in the era that we live in it should be expected. I was told by the front that if you order online just give your name for the order. Now the cons. The left out one of my orders. Pig ears. I called 3 times. No answer. On the fourth call a man picked up and said he couldn't believe they left it out. He wanted me to come back but I was already home...he promised a refund and he was good on his word. I factored this in with my rating. I ordered: 2 beef noodle soups - $14.75 each 1 Mince pork rice $12 FanTuan - $8.25 (extra pickle radish/purple rice) 2 large sweet soy milk - $4.25 each 1 salty soy milk small - $4.75 1 Chinese donut - $3.75 Missing pig ears / $7 Total with tax was $80.15 The food was mid. I'm sorry. It was most likely the influx from social media. The portion are small compared to other taiwanese spots. I feel so bad straying away from my usual spot (which I won't mention). I took a picture comparison of my fan Tuan you can judge yourself... The sweet soy milk was good. Overall I won't be back.

Was so excited to try this spot! You sit down, order, and pay via your table's QR code, which makes things super easy. I got the cold soy milk, which was so delicious and refreshing, as well as the pork chop rice plate. The rice plate was yummy and comforting - I loved the minced pork on the rice as well and the marinated cucumbers and veggies were a great addition. I shared the spicy wonton but it ended up being overly salty and spicy which really overshadowed the wonton flavor itself. They were also unfortunately out of the popular beef roll when we arrived (around 2pm). Service is about average but the prices are quite reasonable, and as a lover of Taiwanese food, I know I'll definitely find my way back! Parking in the plaza or underground.

The beef sandwich was ok to me. Kind of lacked flavor and it was dry. The daikon cake and the rice roll was the star. The daikon cake was so yummy I ended up buying the block to go home and cook it. The service is yourself. You order and sit down and grab sauces yourself

    Egg and sausage $11+

I arrived on a Sunday around 10:12 am and there was a long line for to go and in door eating. They even have a security guard regulating customers going inside. I had to wait a few minutes before I was allowed to go in an order. They have an online system where you can order to skip the longer wait time. Fan Tuan is about $7+ but when you add on purple rice $1 a fried egg $1+, sausage $1+, the total was about $11ish. It took over 30 minutes for my order to be ready. It was just okay and definitely overpriced and not worth the wait.

My sisters-in-law who live in the area highly recommended this spot when we were deciding on a Sunday dinner the night before we flew out. Among the four of us, we ordered: - Xiao Long Bao (soup dumplings) - Biang Biang Noodles: least numbing of the noodle dishes we ordered. If you LOVE carbs and not a lot of sauce, this one's for you! - Dandan noodles: this thin noodle dish is slightly more numbing than the Biang Biang noodles, but still bearable and tasty. - Chongqing Special Noodles: most numbing of the three! I had to pause eating this a few times as it was getting a little uncomfy! The noodles are side but thinner than the Biang Biang noodles. I liked that we ordered noodle dishes each with different noodle types, flavors, and spice levels. The Biang Biang noodles were respite from the Chongqing Special Noodles, while the Dandan noodles had the right amount of peanut flavor and "mala." We arrived 45 minutes before closing on a Sunday night (it was a holiday the next day though). We were surprised that there was still a line of people wait in for seats close to closing time! Thinking we weren't going to be seated, we decided to order for takeout. We ended up being the last party to be seated! The staff was kind to transfer our takeout orders as dine-in dishes! The staff had the right amount of customer service and attentiveness for a Chinese restaurant, if you know what I mean haha. For amazing noodle dishes, comfortable seating, and accommodating service, Chong Qing Special Noodles gets a solid five star rating!

We ordered the cucumbers, chongqing special noodles and you po noodles. Cucumbers and you po were relatively flavorless. Cucumbers weren't garlicky enough, and again, minimal seasoning/sauce. We ended up dipping them a bunch. You po also relatively flavorless. The noodles seemed fresh, but were a bit overdone and almost soggy. They were enhanced by the best of what we ordered, and that was the Chong Qing noodles. Decent flavor, noodles were cooked well, and nice portion of meat and bok choy. We asked for spicy, and it wasn't that, but the sauce/soup base definitely saved the other dishes. Won't be going out of my way to come back, accordingly.

For appetizers we ordered the Takoyaki, chicken karage and our main dishes Deluxe Tsukemen x3. The Break down: Atmosphere: 4/5 They greet you as you walk in, which I sets the vibe. You're welcomed into a cozy apace that has some decorative elements even to the music choice. Reminds me of our trip to japan, which I MISS SO MUCH! The Food Takoyaki: $8.95. 4/5 Stars. - Comes in 5pcs with sauce and bonito flakes. I liked how the outside was a bit crunchy and inside was fluffy! Karage: $8.95. 5/5 Stars - Comes in 5pcs. The sauce was tangy sweet kind of like teriyaki sauce. It was crispy but still so juicy and soft. HANDS DOWN GET THIS! Loved it so much I could have a whole bowl Tsukemen: $22.45. 5/5Stars - If you aren't familiar with this, the broth is separate from the noodles. Its a different way of experiencing noodles. The broth is thick, creamy and flavor profile is on point. Inside of the broth there is mushrooms and pcs of pork. The noodles are cooked perfectly and also comes with pcs of nori, soft boiled jammy eggs and 4 pcs of thick chashu. Portion size lets just say they are generous and we all can EAT ^^, Kakigori (MATCHA) $8/$14. 5/5 Stars - Definite MUST! Its made with Japanese shaved ice, a very creamy soft cream matcha sauce and matcha powder! I cant tell you how good this dessert is. The wife is obsessed and one if the main reasons why we found this spot in the first place. Please try! Service: - Super friendly staff! They are quick to get our order and serve our meal. I asked for more limes for my noodles 2x and both times they were quick. Made us feel very welcomed and checked in on us on a regular, which also reminded us of the service Japan showed us once upon a time. I can't speak for them, but I will say, if you order the tsukemen and find that you want more dipping broth, that will be an extra charge. Order a regular bowl of ramen if you do not plan to dip the brothless noodles into the broth for each bite. BF and I both tried the spicy tuna bowl ($7.95), chashu bowl ($8.95), and tonkotsu ramen ($15.95). The bowls are a little smaller than the ramen bowls and are a great option if you want a light meal without feeling super full. The tonkotsu ramen had a slightly rich broth that was flavorful and a decent portion of noodles. We opted not to order the ramen with the egg since we were also trying the rice bowls. The three items were more than enough for the two of us and a good variety of food. Parking here is horrible at the street level, so head downstairs for the two levels of underground parking.
