I wanted to share an excellent sandwich shop in a tiny strip mall in Gardena. However, don't let the location fool you. The sandwiches here are stacked, and the service is friendly too. They have several preset sandwiches with a variety of proteins (or not, for vegetarians). Or you can make your own creation. I ordered the turkey tussle ($8.25 - on squaw bread w/ cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, cucumber, onions & pickles). My co-workers requested their own creations for about the same price (only mine is pictured). My sandwich was winnahzzz. It was way better vs highly touted Ike's, and less expensive as well. When I am stuck eating a sandwich, it is usually at the cafe in my building, or the cafe in the building next door because I am under a time constraint. However, this sandwich was packed with Boar's Head meat vs the cafes, but costs the same. The remainder of the ingredients were super fresh, and the squaw bread added a nice sweet contrast to the savory ingredients. I was satisfied visually & gastronomically. Absent NY Deli in Torrance, Yo-Way has the best sandwiches in the Gardena/Torrance area IMHO: 5 Stars. Regarding the ambiance, its more of take out place, but there are a few seats inside & outside. Nonetheless, the staff is nothing short of inviting & friendly. It was our first time and one of the sandwich makers gave us the run down, and he and his colleague made our sandwiches quickly and to our specs. Dave the owner was also super friendly and made sure we had everything we needed. He gave us a little strawberry ice cream on the house: That was a very nice gesture of him. He asked us for some catering biz when we had meetings, and we agreed that we would ask our assistant to use Yo-Way in the future: 5 Stars. Now I have an alternative to the cafes close by my office when I am under a time constraint. Yo-Way is only a few minute drive from my office, and they take phone orders. Yo-way is my favorite sandwich shop and I'm not just saying this because I'm from Gardena (lol). This place really has mastered the art of making very delicious sandwiches with fresh veges and delicious spreads/sauces. The deli meat is Boars Head (my fav). It's just as the name states - you can have it Yo-way but trust and believe the way that they make it is just fine as well. Once you take a look at their menu, you'll totally understand why I follow their lead when selecting a sandwich to devour and no I'm not sharing bites with anyone. You gotta get Yo-Own. Yo-way offers a good variety of specialty sandwiches. 2 of my favorites are the Poppin' Pastrami on french bread and the Blazin Cajun on cranberry walnut bread. Sooo delicious! They also sell these Luau BBQ Hawaiian onion ring chips that pair very nicely with these sandwiches. I would also like to compliment the owner and his staff on being so welcoming and friendly. A great find! Would say a diamond in the rough! Turned out to be a great gem! Was referred by my Jujitsu coach who said it was the bomb. Was not disappointed! It's located in a tiny strip mall with limited parking. Order on a sheet with markers and your order is freshly made within 5 minutes. Had the pastrami with sourdough bread, tomatoes, olives and siracha mayo. It was wonderfully hot and pressed like a panini sandwich. Highly recommend! YELP 100 CHALLENGE 2017 - PART 2: 84/100 Cousin called saying she wanted to come over, but wanted to stop by for some sammies beforehand. She asked if I knew of a good sammich spot near home. "Yo-Way." I surprised myself for a second because it rolled out of my mouth without having to think about it. And that's huge considering I haven't been back in over a year. I told her where it was. She asked if I wanted anything. I declined (like an idiot) because "I just had lunch." She bought me a pastrami anyway. (We should all be so thankful for thoughtful relatives!) Fast forward to dinner time. Although I had plenty of leftovers, none were more appealing than the sandwich. I nuked it for about 30 seconds, and ehrmahgerrrrr!!! It was so much better than the last time. That pastrami was brined, seasoned and sliced to perfection. I'm not really a fan of mustard or pickles, but the tang added nicely to the taste. Ok... there are sandwiches and then there are SANDWICHES! This place is by far my favorite lunch spot. It never, ever disappoints. There are SO many choices out there today and while some are decent, Yo-Way transcends the sandwich experience with consistent freshness, quality, taste, and friendly service. The jerk-Turkey is crazy-good but even the tuna blew me away. Don't miss this opportunity! I wish there a location closer to home in the OC but I'm happy to stop by on my way from work. I had to check this place out because of all the great reviews on yelp! It is right on the way home from work which made it very convenient. When you walk in, you can either order a sandwich on the menu or make your own sandwich. I customized my sandwich with cajun turkey with avocado and it was the best sandwich i have ever had. One word: BOMB! Loved the pastrami sandwich that I built. This place is a sandwich, smoothie, and fro-yo shop tucked in a little plaza shared with small businesses and a liquor. You grab a menu where you can choose a signature sandwich or build it yo-way with their check off list. The meat selection is quality meat from Boar's Head and there's probably ten different meats, ten different bread choices, a variety of cheese selections, vegetables, add ons, and different sauces. You can also request it to be toasted. I built a pastrami on cranberry walnut with swiss cheese, spinach, red onions, pickles, cucumbers, tomatoes, banana peppers and cancun mayo and mayonnaise. So gooooood toasted! It was a monstrous sandwich that I savored half for lunch and half for dinner. Everything was fresh and quickly made to order. Service was very sweet and helpful from the girl at the register to the guys making the sandwiches. It's a small place with a few tables and bar like seating. I went during lunch and there was constant flow of traffic of people ordering their lunch but not too overwhelming. This place deserves all of the praise and recognition. It's a tucked away hidden gem in Gardena that I would go out of my way to get a sandwich. We were getting our windshield fixed at a shop across the street when we found Yo-Way on Yelp. Upon entering, the owner was warm and friendly and we became fast friends. My fiance LOVES to order whatever the owners recommend so we got a surprise sandwich. Turns out to be a Club Stacker (don't quote me) with some extra goodies-- One of the best sandwiches I've ever had. I'm not a big sandwich guy, but this converted me. Every sandwich is set up for success when the bread is good. And dang the bread was UNreal. He gets them from a local bakery and what a great little partnership they have to create this beautiful sandwich marriage. The deli meats are delicious, fresh, and generously portioned. We polished off the first sandwich and decided to get another because it was THAT good. We then tried the Spicy Cajun (again, don't quote me). Equally good, I'm not a huge fan of pickles in my sandwiches so the first one wins. But for a sandwich with flavors I don't love, I still really enjoyed it. We had such a good time chatting with the owner and just hanging out in this quaint shop, this is definitely a worthwhile spot for frequent visits. Super cute mom and pops store!! Unfortunately it is completely hidden by other restraunts. We would have never found it without google maps and yelp . This place deserves perfect stars. The owners were super nice and extremely welcoming. We got a custom veggie sandwich and a veggie from the menu. Very delicious and healthy and did not skimp on any of their ingredients. I am very glad they used paper to wrap their sandwiches. One think I hope they take into consideration is using paper bags instead of plastic!! Besides that, theres not much more feedback to give. NO-Way to Yo-Way - you must do better!!! Decided to give this local sandwich shop a shot. When I arrived I was greeted and it went all downhill from there. I ordered the Blazin Cajun Turkey sandwich. When the cashier rang up my order, the price was $12.00 - however on the menu board and menu, the price was clearly listed as $11.00. I was then told they did not have time to change the price. Well I said since this is the price that is posted can I pay that price? I was told No and I exited the location. From knowing Business 101 - by law you are required to charge the customer the price that is posted. Don't be surprised if you go to this location and they charge you whatever price that is not posted. BEWARE!!! read more

Easily best sandwiches I've had in a LONG time. Maybe top 3 in the last two years. I've been meaning to check this place out for a while now and finally had the chance to. I feel places on Yelp rarely actually deserve 5 stars but this place is next level. The value of the sandwich and perfectly balanced sandwich composition earns this place an easy 5-stars. Also, the sauces are house made with care, not just out of the jar/bottle. This isn't your dime-a-dozen Boar's Head deli shop, Yo-Way is legitimately a step above. Too good! Fresh sandwiches are to die for! I literately went 4 days in a row and tried a different sandwich each time. I like the system they have in place to order too. They use an ordering card and you can create your own or select on off the menu and take out whatever you don't like. Once you've marked your card you just slide it under the slot and your sandwich is ready to go in like 5 mins or less... I like to come here on my lunch break and they have order ahead options online but they make the food so quickly I just walk-in mark my card and by the time I pay I'm walking out and enjoying my delicious lunch...
