Ordered the Chicken with String Beans - bad. Absolutely no flavor and really poor quality chicken. It was big pieces of chicken that were so difficult to cut, even with a knife, and very chewy. Does not deserve even 1 star. Anyone with a severe allergy should not order from this place. Their menu does not mention all the ingredients. My son is highly allergic to peanuts and the sesame dumplings have a peanut butter based sauce. So many people have severe allergies! My boyfriend and I moved to the Woodbridge area less than a yr ago & have been trying different places nearby. This is the 3rd Chinese restaurant that we've ordered delivery from and so far it's the best one. I was able to order online on their website (they were also listed on Uber Eats). Menu was easy to follow and everything had options as well as a notes section for any specifications. We ordered their boneless spare ribs, wonton soup, and general tso's chicken combo with rice and an egg roll. The delivery was quick (and delivery people tend to have trouble finding our condo on their GPS but this delivery person found us without a problem). Our order was prepared exactly how we wanted. Nothing was overly salty, even the soup. All the necessary utensils and condiments were included along with fortune cookies of course. We all love Chinese food but Yoan's tops the cake when it comes to delicious food. They make the best dumplings and their Hunan chicken is out of this world. If you ask for it spicy you get it spicy. This place isn't what it used to be. The food has been going downhill for a while but we still order because my son particularly enjoys their all shrimp dumplings which are hard to find elsewhere. Tonight I placed an order which their online system recorded incorrectly. I ordered 2 of the same dish with different instructions...one mild, one medium spicy, and both with different vegetable preferences. The system logged it as 2 of the exact same dish with the same preferences. When I called to explain I was told the dish had already been made so they "couldn't" change it. Truth is, they COULD have changed it, they just wouldn't. So, because their online ordering system is faulty, I didn't get what I ordered and they refused to make it right because 'the differences aren't that much.' If I had paid them less though that would have been a problem, I'm sure. My recommendation: Go elsewhere. Chan's food remains constant and they fix their mistakes. Makoto, while having a limited menu, also makes good on any mistakes and has very good food. Yoan's food isn't good enough to tolerate their unwillingness to make right what is not the customer's fault. After being a customer for a VERY long time, tonight was our last order. read more

Wow. I'm amazed at these good reviews. I really wanted to love their food. Maybe I just got a really bad dish but my chicken was frozen and RAW in the middle! It looked cooked on the outside, but biting into was a horrible experience. It had the grainy texture of frozen meat, and was clearly pink in the middle. I truly hope this place doesn't hurt anyone.. Whatever you do don't get Pad Thai from this place...If only I could say it was bad Pad Thai, but it wasn't Pad Thai at all! Some weird Chinese improvisation of an iconic Thai dish. I will let you guess what it tastes like: it's not sweet, it's not spicy. It's sour! And they pack an extra couple of lemon slices like it's not sour enough. Forget about peanuts (most places don't serve those with Pad Thai anyway, unless you go to a real Thai place). It came in two plastic bags because it was so super greasy you can make a wall transparent like in Simpsons. Red Thai pepper is substituted with crushed red pepper (or something that sort of resembles it). I don't know what they did with tofu but it doesn't taste like it suppose to. Drenched in weird sauce which again neither spicy or sweet. The only reason I gave this two stars is because pieces of shrimp were big and pretty good. I don't know about regular Chinese food from this place, I only went here twice to get Pad Thai (trust me if I remembered this was the same place I went to before I wouldn't have ever ordered it again), but pad Thai is gross. I can only imagine what Thai curry tastes like from this place...Why have Thai food on the menu if don't know how to cook it? read more

So I work in the Woodbridge area and ordered here only because of high reviews. The man on the phone was very nice and attentive. I had sesame chicken with pork fried rice ,fried wontons and wonton soup. The food came very fast!!!! The food looked good and the fried rice was very tasty. My only complaint is that most my sesame chicken pieces were PINK!! I'm not sure how they are cooked but the pink color was just a turn off to me. The wonton meat was on the really salty side also. I wished I ordered something else. I just wasted my money here since I couldn't look past my pink pieces of chicken :( read more

I've been meaning to write a review for a few days now, so here I go. Last week I was craving Chinese food. I called two Chinese restaurants prior to Yoan's but both were out of operations due to the COVID-19 crisis. I then saw Yoan's as a recommendation on Yelp with pretty good reviews, so I decided to give it a try. I ordered the basics: Shrimp Fried Rice, spring rolls and fried noodles. Not long after I went home, and was looking forward to my dinner. Let me just say the food was underwhelming, and honestly NOT GOOD at all. The fried was basically flavorless, the spring rolls were about the size of an egg roll, greasy, bland and not crispy. The fried noodles were also so greasy, that I had to throw them away. Including my spring roll. Don't know how this place has gotten 4 stars but trust me it's not worth it! I don't take pleasure in giving poor reviews of restaurants especially during this pandemic, but these mediocre restaurants need to up their game. I haven't had Chinese food this bad in a VERY LONG TIME. Needless to say I won't be back. read more

My go to Chinese take out. I have been ordering from here since 2004. Inexpensive, fair portions, accurate orders, and quick delivery. The food is never too salty or greasy. I ordered with high hopes due to the rating from Yelp members but I was very disappointed. The Scallion Pancakes were burnt and dry. The Chicken with broccoli looked as if the chicken wasn't cooked but it was. It was covered in cornstarch giving it a waxy look. The Chicken with Spinach was very oily and the chicken was scarce. The spinach was nicely cooked with good flavor. The Generals chicken was generic, nothing special. The Lo mien was greasy. Singapore Mei Fun was ok. They chicken and broccoli is cheeks! and just about any of they sautéed chicken dishes such as chicken and mixed veggies, chicken and string beans, ect. They dont cook it well the chicken is always over cooked and the lomein which could be great at times and other times the noodles are too fat and bloated and not enough veggies! Its a crap shoot this place in my opinion! One thing i think just about 7-10 times its usually on point would Be the chicken wings or half fried chicken with the pork fried rice, thats about it. I know Yoan's Garden is supposed to have the best Chinese in the area but I haven't found anything spectacular about their food. Everything is pretty ordinary if you ask me. Their noodles are alright, general tso's is too sweet. Don't even try with the Thai food. Their service is quick and their prices are cheap, but the food is mediocre. read more

This restaurant has been my go to for Chinese since I moved to the area. The food if fresh, tasty and delivery is quick. I removed 1 star because 2 0ut of 15 orders were not good at all. WOW! I am so glad I found this place. Lets start off with the great things. The steamed dumplings were the perfect meat to dough ratio. My wife said the chicken chow fun was the best she's had in years. The veg lo mein was delicious. The bbq spare ribs were meaty and not overcooked, with a really nice sauce that wasn't just grease. The good things. The scallion pancakes were crisp and just the right thickness. They could have had more scallion in them though. The general tsao's sauce was good, but the chicken was a little on the soft side- I like a little crisp in mine. The crab rangoon had a LOT of filling, and were very sweet. I didn't like them, my wife did. The not so good things. The egg roll was disappointing, nicely fried but not very good filling. I know they just order these frozen, but this one was not good. The sauce for the dumplings was oddly sweet and not very good. As you can see, we got a lot of food to try. They gave me a free 2 liter soda and cookies (almond maybe?). All in all, this was the best chinese take-out I've had in a long time. I definitely support this place. read more

I used to order from here all the time when I lived in the area. I still pick up takeout or get it delivered at work sometimes. It's been a solid place for Chinese food when I was growing up, however I feel the quality of the food has gone down since. Most of the time, I ended up ordering their lunch special combo - chicken lo mein with chili oil and a soda can. The chicken is too chewy now and almost doesn't feel like chicken. Though, I do still enjoy their dumplings with the hot chili oil. Now, I only have it once or twice in a year. It's become subpar and if there was something else in the area, perhaps I wouldn't order from here at all. read more

This is my favorite Chinese food spot so far since moving in the area, we are originally from New York so finding a spot that can compare was hard but this place matches up, so far I have had the chicken and broccoli, fried shrimp, fried rice and shrimp in garlic said my fiance always gets either general tso or sesame chicken with lo mein and so far everything has been delicious. The food is always hot upon delivery and it arrives within 30min. I really recommend Yoans they are a little pricey but the food is of good quality. read more

5-star rating is based on the delivery service as well as the quality of food, haven't been to the restaurant. Ordered from there between 1-2 dozen times while staying in Woodbridge for work during the past 6 months. Delivery was always lightning-fast to the nearby Residence Inn. Tried a variety of menu items, but my favorites were: the Hawaii Five-O, Chicken & Shrimp with Garlic Sauce, Spring Rolls, and Crab Rangoon. Quality of the meat, seafood, and veggies for the meals were consistently excellent. My gal lives down in Asbury, and says Yoan's is much better than the Chinese food available down there. The bitch who answered the phone was so obnoxious and rude is a very small word to describe her.. my mom wanted something from there and that was the only reason i didnt curse her out and hung up the phone..first i was repeating my address and she was like oh we deliver there every day we go there every day and she was very very loud, i was like ok and proceeded to order and then she got loud again saying" ughh why you say no combo its no large its combo why you always say that".. at that point my blood was boiling but i very politely said to her that mam, im ordering for the first time and i didn't know that..and finished my order..i called back in 50 minutes and said it's been about an hour so i was wondering if the driver has left already coz the food wasn't here so i wanted to make sure and wasn't mad or anything and she was like let me see what time you ordered...she checked the time and it was 50 minutes, i did say that it has been ABOUT an hour..anyways..driver gets here and asks for tip and is rushing..gave him the tip and im done with them forever..never ever ordering from here again!! it was a very very disappointing experience!!
