Nice outdoor plants, too (even Hibiscus plants!) and a nice selection of wind chimes. All top-quality. Inside the store they sell Melissa & Doug toys for the kids and a offer a large variety home decor/gift items items. Great selection of bulk foods, spices, snacks. I bought a bag of spinach pasta. The baked goods looked delicious, but I actually passed on them because of all the other snack foods we were purchasing. Do check out the breads, cinnamon rolls and cookies. They sell a small amount of produce and still had some seedless watermelons available for only $2.99. They had a small selection of cheese curds and do have refrigerated items. They had a nice vitamin section and even a little clearance area. Everyone in my group ordered something from the deli--mostly sandwiches, that were divine, but I opted for the blueberry-banana smoothie. Yum! You can purchase sliced meats and cheeses from the deli counter, but they also have an extensive menu. On our way out I noticed the soft-serve ice cream machine and a coffee grinding station (I think that's what it was). We spent about $45 on everything we bought (spinach pasta, peanut butter filled pretzels x 3!, dried apple rings, milk chocolate covered blueberries, ranch seasoned snack mix, honey mustard pretzel bites, peanut butter granola. Apparently we prefer peanut butter and pretzels--also. we were shopping while hungry. Store is immaculately clean and the staff were very friendly. Prices are more than fair. We were here right around Noon and the place was picking up in time for lunch. We ate outside in their outdoor seating area. Face masks are not required here, but about half of the customers were wearing them. I appreciated that. Highly recommend!

Meijer has a large selection of pretty much anything you might want at competitive prices in line with other grocery stores. We still travel a few times a year and saw the sign for this Meijer location on our way through Owensboro while heading up North to visit my wife's family. It is one of our regular stops to stock up on non-perishable items on the way home, and we still find it to be a great place to shop. They have a large fresh produce section with quality items, and the meat and seafood departments are big and good. We try to pack a cooler with us to pick items up on the way home when it is functional to do so. My wife loves to browse the health and beauty section, but she never fails to find ladies' clothing items on clearance or special and picks up new items on virtually every visit we make. But, the best aspect of shopping at Meijer is the helpfulness and friendliness of the staff. On our last visit, we used the self-checkout lanes, and I was having difficulty using my MPerks card. I hit the button for assistance, and the lady who arrived to help took full ownership of the problem. While I told her it was not a problem and probably a temporary glitch she called two other staff members to help find a resolution for us and make it right. That is service that is above and beyond any other store we visit. Our only problem with Meijer is that they do not have a store in Dawsonville, GA, or anywhere closer to us than Bowling Green, KY. If for no other reason, we continue to patronize Meijer due to their wonderful customer service and their great staff.

Prices are comparable to other grocery stores in the area and at our Home city of Louisville, Kentucky. Something very nice about this grocery store is that staff members always offer to transport your groceries to your car and load it into the vehicle for you. This caused a delay in the opening of the pharmacy which has opening hours posted at 8 AM. My husband went to check out the small amount of groceries. None of the full-service checkouts were manned. There was only one employee at the self-checkout to assist customers. One item rang up at a price different than advertised and it took the employee so long to figure out how to correct it that we left without the product. There was no one at the customer service desk to address our needs. There appears to be no sense of emergency or order. If this is a normal Friday morning at the Island Kroger here in Madisonville we will drive further to do our grocery shopping.
