It's a NO for me, dawg. I had high hopes for this place as I saw a few TikToks about it. I went to their website and saw their $19.99 lunch promo and decided to treat myself on a Saturday bc I had just lost my job and needed a pick me up. The picture of the misleading promo on the website is attached here. The restaurant itself is beautiful and has a big cherry blossom tree in the middle. The booth was not comfortable and felt like it had no cushion. They have you choose your food by iPad but cannot send the order until your server reviews it. I thought that was kind of weird, but they were quick enough checking and sending it. My server was kind, but hovered the entire meal. I still tipped 20% bc she did her job well. The food itself was okay, at best. The unagi was the best thing I ate. The steak hibachi had no flavor, the tuna was concerningly fishy, and all the other sushi rolls tasted the same. The ice cream and fried cheesecake were very yummy. I'll give them that. About halfway through the meal, I asked to see the manager bc the promo online says nothing about only being Monday-Friday, but once I got here all the signage said it and my server nervously told me it was only M-F. I called the manager over to let her know the online promo is misleading and should probably be corrected. She said "most people call in to check but I guess I could correct it for the few people who only look online." She didn't honor the promo for me. She apologized, but there was no action. There is a new AYCE sushi place by Penn Square mall that is 10x better than this place and it's only $32.99 instead of $34.99. Driving to OKC will be worth it. read more

We chose Yokoi for a birthday dinner and unfortunately, it was a frustrating experience from start to finish. The most disappointing part is that the sushi itself is actually good--this place has real potential--but the overall experience completely overshadowed the food. Service and ordering were incredibly confusing. The system relies on iPads, but we were given one iPad for a table of five, and it required a server password every time we submitted an order. With two people doing all-you-can-eat (AYCE), that quickly became tedious. It also took nearly 20 minutes just to get the correct menus. We were initially given an à la carte menu without prices, and when we asked for them, the iPad was switched to à la carte--leaving the AYCE guests unable to order. The call buttons also didn't work, they informed us 20 minutes in. There seemed to be major issues handling a table with mixed ordering styles (AYCE + à la carte), which should be fairly standard. It took a long time to get a second iPad, which honestly should be the default for larger groups, and you can't switch between menus on the iPad. What?! The biggest problem, though, was execution. Food was repeatedly delivered to the wrong table or not delivered at all. At one point, we were brought the wrong sushi and told we would be charged if we didn't eat it. The AYCE guests waited an hour for their nigiri--the main reason we came. When we questioned it, the server acknowledged this table "always has issues," and also blamed food runners for repeatedly taking our dishes to the wrong table. Not reassuring. We also ordered ramen early on that didn't arrive until about an hour in, and the broth wasn't good. Deep fried calamari was inedible as well. We know good ramen and calamari - this wasn't it. To add to the stress, there's a strict 90-minute time limit regardless of service delays. When it takes 20+ minutes just to get started and orders are consistently delayed, that pressure is frustrating. The à la carte food came out quickly and the AYCE orders took forever. I do appreciate their focus on minimizing food waste, but the many rules weren't explained at all, despite it being clear we were first-time customers. We went in knowing reviews were mixed, and I can see why. I've heard it can be better when they're not busy, but our dinner was chaotic and disappointing. By the time food finally arrived, we were too frustrated to enjoy it and barely ate--ironically, it would have been cheaper to go to a regular sushi place (Wow, for those who are wondering). Their all you can eat is $34 per person which is a very reasonable price for AYCE sushi. Wow... this was one of the most satisfying meals I've had in a long time, usually at all you can eat places you have to sacrifice flavor for quantity but every dish here was cooked to perfection, each roll beautifully crafted, hibachi steak and chicken both well seasoned, marinated and tender, each bite of the steak melted in your mouth and the service was phenomenal with dishes constantly being brought out and checking if we needed anything else. To top it off, the deserts were amazing but you cannot leave without trying the tempura cheesecake which reminded me of a warm gooey funnel cake. All in all highly recommend, will definitely be back. My only complaint is that we called ahead of time and the girl who answered the phone basically made it seem like they were booked up and we wouldn't get a seat as a walk in that day. We risked it and walked in shortly after calling and the place was literally empty... we got seated right away. Numerous parties walked in after us and everyone was seated. This was on a Saturday too, around 4pm. We got drinks, but to be honest I'd skip drinks. They were subpar and half the cost of the all you can eat meal. I got the lychee one and I forgot what my husband ordered. Not worth it. For food, everything was fresh. Our favorites were the yellowtail in ponzu sauce, sliced peppered tuna, the chicken wings, shumai, all of the nigiri, and only a few rolls. The first time I went was told I needed a reservation but I didn't see it anywhere not instagram so we left. The second time I called and left a message and they said they had more 100 voicemails and not checking it. So I called again to make a reservation. Yokoi is an incredibly stunning venue with an AYCE option. While it is pretty far north I decided to make the trip to see the hype. In a few words I'd describe the experience as visually stunning with lack luster food. It might be worth to some to purely come for the venue but as far as food goes, it did not reach my expectations. The menu is pretty big but nothing hit the spot for me. I ate most of the rolls and plenty of the sashimi. Service is kind but kinda slow because it locked behind an iPad system that requires the password before every order. We tried just about everything they offered -- from sashimi and rolls to desserts -- and overall, it was a great value for the money. The fried cheesecake dessert was surprisingly good (definitely something different, but it worked!). The sushi itself was fresh and tasty, especially considering how much we ordered and how busy the restaurant was that night. A few notes: the sashimi slices were a bit thinner than I'd prefer -- I get that it's all-you-can-eat, but slightly thicker cuts would give a better texture and make the experience feel more balanced. Also, a few pieces could have been trimmed a bit cleaner (some fish still had bits of skin left on), but nothing major. New all you can eat sushi/hibachi restaurant.. how can we not try?! I doubled down and actually picked Yokoi to celebrate my birthday. Risky, especially since I didn't know if I'd like their food or how their service is being a new restaurant. I made reservations and noticed there were some that didn't, that were waiting in the lobby. I was a little thrown off when I checked in 10 minutes before my reservation that I heard the hostess say "I should honor the reservation first right?" The food was great. Portions when it comes to hibachi was an individual serving. Rolls are full rolls. We really loved the hibachi the best. Ordering rolls was sometimes frustrating because it seemed like ours took two rounds until it actually came out while others were receiving theirs after ordering us. Come to find it was a mix up with submissions to the chefs. Hibachi came out quicker than the rolls, so expect slower service. There was a lot of wait in between ordering, so definitely plan accordingly if you have plans after dinner. I would come back. Maybe after a few months as they get settled in with service and food. Yokoi was truly a 10/10 experience. We came for the AYCE dinner. Our waitress was so nice and accommodating. We made a reservation so we were sat pretty quickly but if you make a reservation for 4:30 they won't let you in until literally 4:30. You get a little tablet to order when you get to your table and can order 20 items per person (if one menu item has 6 pieces it still counts as one) but only 2 of each item (for example 2 six piece rolls or 2 two piece nigiri). The appetizers came out pretty quickly. The first round came out about 5 minutes after we put in our first order then about every 5 minutes after that. Our sushi took the longest to come out but that was to be expected since it was pretty busy. The eel roll was my favorite! It wasn't fishy and the seaweed didn't have that distinct seaweed flavor that some sushi places have. It was all very fresh and VERY delicious. They come back around with the tablet after you get through most of your current round so the ordering is well timed. You get 90 minutes to eat and we used the full 90 minutes. Again, our waitress was spot on with making sure we had everything, waters refilled and sauces. I wish I remembered her name! The atmosphere was nice. I wouldn't say it's high end but it was clean and slick. I really liked the tree in the middle! There's two stalls in the women's bathroom and a changing table. Nothing I ate made me want to come back, and to top it off, my friend ended up with a stomachache on the way home. The bathroom situation was just as disappointing -- it was dirty, and even after I told staff there was no toilet paper, my friend went 30-40 minutes later and it still hadn't been restocked. The restaurant seated us quickly, but that was about as good as the service could be. We thought that it would be busy and understood that our food could take a little bit to make it to the table but we were surely not alone in this experience. There were other tables being filled with customers but they were not served. One family left because they weren't even offered water after being seated for 10 minutes. Meanwhile there were 2 specific tables that received all of the attention and food before the customers in the restaurant received their first rounds. It appeared to be friends of the owners or employees and they had food being delivered to their tables within 20 minutes of arrival, most of which were things not even on their menu (special types of nigiri, soups actively being cooked at the table, fresh sashimi). Not only was this an exclusive menu for them, the customers in the restaurant were neglected while this good was being prepared. If they wanted to serve an exclusive menu, they could have done this as a private party because it was basically ACYE sushi for 1.5 hours but you can only get 1 round of food. When we asked about why the sushi was taking an hour, we were informed "our sushi chef is very busy" and to order from the kitchen/appetizer menu (tempura, soup, udon, fried rice etc) as that is faster. Paying $50 for AYCE sushi to only be able to order a max of 2 rounds of food and leave hungry because that is all we had the patience for after waiting another 1.5 hours for our second plate of sushi, I felt like you could get better food with more attentive service at a different sushi restaurant. Great service, and clean restaurant, but the fish quality isn't the best. Some of the yellowtail sashimi had a fishy flavor, and the salmon was flavorless. There was skin on majority of the yellowtail and salmon we ordered, and that gave the sashimi a chewy texture and unpleasant taste. Hot green tea was plentiful and good, food was overall okay, but I just wasn't satisfied with the quality. Of course I know for AYCE and for a little under $100 for two people including 20% gratuity isn't bad, but I'd rather just eat at a higher end sushi restaurant and pay the same amount or little more to get about the same amount of sushi if not more. They cut their sashimi and nigiri very small so, portions are tiny. I didn't leave stuffed, because it just wasn't that good. Try it for yourself, I think anyone that's a sushi lover should give it a try, and decide for themselves, but my honest opinion is, I probably won't be back unless invited by family and friends again. 3-stars for excellent service and cleanliness of restaurant. Host Staff and MoD almost ruined what ended up being a great night... I would definitely give the food and Bar staff 5 Stars; they were fantastic. The Host Staff and MoD were terrible. To the point we almost went somewhere else. Walked in looked around to survey the seating, being that were are Middle Aged and "enjoy life", aka not skinny. Noticed that there was an abundance of space at the bar...and it is always a treat to watch sushi being prepared. Asked if we could take the three seats at the bar that appeared to be open...was told no, because they were using the area in front of the sushi prep area for service of the food. I had her ask the MoD, and the response was the same! So you're telling me the most PRIME seating in a Sushi restaurant was off limits to seating?!?!?! It baffled me that an MoD of a just opened, trying to get a name for themselves establishment would be crazy enough to block off that area. So, after that bewildering eye-opener of a revalation they also said it would be an hour wait even though they don't take rsvp's for parties under 6 people (called earlier), and there were actually table/booths (half table, half booth) readily open. The Host then proceeded to hand me the "call" book to put my info in so they could let us know when a table opened up. I looked at her, again beffuddled. I have trouble reading my own writing, and I asked her, "Isn't it your job to take the information?", which she looked at me confused and finally pulled back the book and proceeded to ask for my information. So again, Front of House Host Stand... horrible first impression. So, with name on the "List" we went to the bar and ordered a round of drinks to wait. This is where things began to vastly improve. The Bar Staff was great. Attentive, humorous and professional. As soon as some of the limited seats opened up at the Bar, we snagged them instead of wait for a table that probably woudl never open up. The Bar Staff handed us a Mini Ipad and explained how the AYCE menu worked. This is already a long review, so I'll brief it up. At one point you can forget what you ordered because everything on the menu is Top Notch! from the appetisers, all the way to the dessert (sublime perfection!). The only kink in the highly polished armour of the Bar and kitchen staff was we ran out of soy sauce and ginger. Besides that, the meal was an adventure in cuisine. If you can get past the Grandious ineptitude of the Host Staff and the MoD, what awaits you is a great time, phenomenal food, and an awesome sake dispensing device. Again, If it weren't for the horrible first impression...I would be giving all 5 stars...so please YoKoi, work on that front-front of house and your MoD, and you will have a definite winner on your hands. Oh! and the pricing for the AYCE (All You Can Eat) was amazing...breaking it down, for three it came to about roughly $37/ea. add drinks and a very nice tip (about 38% because of how the Bar Staff turned around the night), and you're still only looking at about $80/person for leaving completely satiated...This place really knows how to delivery on the umami experience. read more
