Terrific hotel! Really cute decor. It was worth paying a little extra for the Superior Partial View King Bed room for that view and sunlight. It was very clean and spacious. My room was on the 12th floor (rooftop is on 13). The room was very well air conditioned. (Although when the fan was set on high, it blew directly onto my face while sleeping.) The TV also actually had many good movie channels in English!
There's a mini-fridge and room safe. The room came with a complimentary bag of Biscoito Globo, traditional Brazilian chips. But no complimentary bottled water for Hilton Honors members here. No coffee maker or tea kettle in the room either.
The breakfast buffet was good. Coffee, basic teas, juices, fresh fruit, smoked salmon, ham, cheeses, scrambled eggs, croque monsieur, sausages (hot dog wieners in sauce), waffles, bacon, assorted bread rolls/slices/muffins/cakes and jams.
The hotel gym was located outside the front entrance which is a little odd, but it was literally just a few steps away. It was air conditioned and had a filtered water station. Super convenient.
The rooftop had live music Friday to Sunday night. Very chill vibes. Christ the Redeemer glows at night, so it can be seen in the distance. There's a tiny 4-foot wading pool.
The hotel is located just a few blocks north of Shopping Botafogo, which is a small, clean mall with lots of eateries and a terrific view of Sugarloaf Mountain.
No late checkout was available for me because the next guest was scheduled to arrive on time.
This Tapestry Collection hotel in Rio de Janeiro was better than my Curio Collection hotel in Buenos Aires, even though Curio is supposed to be better. I highly recommend it! read more
