Do not expect to be taken seriously at this doctors office. I started seeing CRNP Gonzales. I am a 28 year old male who has at best partial control of my bladder. CRNP Gonzales saw me twice, the first time she saw me she blamed this problem on me having 1-2 diet dr pepper soda cans a week after taking a very weak and abbreviated medical history (barely listening to me, at one point she rolled her eyes at me and was on her personal phone). Seeing her for a second time a month later I had completely discontinued drinking anything other than water and she STILL refused to believe I was actually having an issue and just totally dismissed me because my bladder HAPPENED to be empty at the second appointment. I called the front desk and spoke to someone and explained the situation and how distraught I was after the second appointment, and to their credit the front desk staff were very understanding and got me in to get a second opinion with Dr. Bonslaver. Despite waiting almost 90 minutes after being called back to the waiting room, Dr Bonslaver was at least receptive to listening to me, but didn't really have any other advice other than to log how much fluid I drink and expel, which I had already done. With that and no other real advice they told me to come back in three months for a follow up. What am I supposed to do just wait for three months with this issue? A week before this 3 month follow up some hostile person from the front desk calls and they need to move my appointment from march 3rd to april 28th after already waiting 3 months since the last bladder appointment with no help. I politely again explained what is going on and they will not take me seriously. read more

Went to have a Cystoscopy on January 22,25 with Dr Boscelli. He was in a rush very curt and brass. Hurt me during the Cystoscopy and I have two others before with Others Drs and never hurt me. I have a bladder fistural and just quickly told me there were two procedures. One probably wouldn't work. And the other was with a surgeon in hospital. I told him I didn't really want surgery if possible and just flew out of the room and said ," well let us know what you want to do, but you'll just keepgetting UTI's. So unprofessional and unkind! Never will I go back to him or recommend anyone going to him!! The RN ( Donna) was so kind,sweet and sympathetic. Thank goodness she was with me or I would of cried!! read more

My husband has been a patient of Dr. Bonslaver for many years however since UPMC has taken over with unprofessional staff, 17 minute hold times, & no follow ups we have left the practice! The hold times when you call the office are 17 minutes at best, the same receptionist answers the phone who is rude and unhelpful. We called to have bloodwork faxed the the Gettysburg Lab on 6 different times ( 17 minute hold each time) prior to my husbands appointment they told me they sent it to Hanover (UPMC) WE LIVE IN GETTYSBURG I am not driving to Hanover to get blood draw. After 7 phone calls and three trips to the lab with no results I asked to speak to a supervisor. I was transferred and could not leave a voicemail because her mailbox is full ( That should tell you everything) I called UPMC customer service hotline to report the incident which was a waste of time I felt they could careless! I had a large kidney stone attack. As a current patient, I called them five times throughout the morning of the attack to get their advice. Each time leaving a message with their receptionist as to the nature and urgency of the repeated calls. Never did I get a return call. Within two days I was in the hospital and had surgery. Post surgery I had to go to Yorktowne Urology to have a stent removed. When the procedure began they informed me that it was a different type of stent and that a surgical procedure would be required and I would need to reschedule! After that procedure was performed the following day I called to inquire about the continuation of a medication. Again I left a message and no return call. This office is completely unprofessional and you will find better service at your car dealer. My recommendation, find another practice. It will be outside of York but you will likely find better care. read more

Dr. Palmer was unprofessional, arrogant and obnoxious. He refused to listen to me and diagnosed me incorrectly. The nurses and staff were friendly and helpful. The place was clean and sanitary. Overall it would've been a good experience had it not been for Dr. Palmer. I'd recommend that you only go here if you have no other choice and ask not to be seen by Dr. Palmer. read more

First off let me say Dr. C could not have made us feel more comfortable. She explained everything so well and didn't make us feel like our questions were stupid. She didn't rush through the explanations or talk down to us. Unfortunately I can't say the same for the exit appointment gal. When she called us over she already had appointments set up. When asked if there were other appointment times she said no. We've never been to a doctors office where they didn't ask what works for you. A flat out no was so rude and unaccommodating. I got home and called in and spoke to someone else who did explain some procedures are done on certain days and worked with us on another appointment that fit our schedule. I could have given them a 4 or 5 if not for the exit gal. It's sad that your last experince at the office is with someone like her. My wife was facing two procedures to remove a large kidney stone that was in her ureter and causing a nearly 100 % blockage from that kidney. Dr. Mirsky was the surgeon. I was in the Short Term Waiting Room and suddenly Dr. Mirsky appeared and was so excited and reported to me that he had gotten the entire stone out in the one procedure. The amazing thing was that not a single other doctor came in to announce anything to anyone else. It had been a series of announcements to a certain person by the associate at the desk of that room, and they then went to join their loved on in recovery. Wow! Fr. Mirsky is fabulous and has also treated me for kidney stones. He is a great guy and very compassionate. He and the other MD's are super busy with surgery, but the PA's they have, especially Tana Gonzalez are super!! If you need a urology appointment, don't hesitate to call them. Wow!! read more

They have doctors? Never saw anyone at office but the nurse practitioner. They have no empathy for their patients. My husband was tricked into wearing a catheter as a hospital patient. Was sent home with his catheter still inserted and when we called office to have it removed they said we had to wait 2-3 more weeks for removal. Then I called with pus and blood in his bag and they said drink more water and go to emergency if he gets a fever. I don't want to use emergency it is expensive. Never tested his urine upon removal of catheter and he now is suffering from another UTI. No answers as to why so many infections. They plain and simple don't care about you or your urinary problems. Will also report them to Medicare for charging a Dr. Visit and never saw a doctor. read more

Our experience with this practice was not the best. My husband had his vasectomy scheduled, they called us a few times to change that date, however, those dates didn't work for us so he asked to keep the original date and they gave him an attitude about it. I am sorry, but he had it scheduled for a date that he and I both had already taken off for. The lady running the check-in was super friendly and nice when we arrived for his procedure. The nurse who took him back and the male doctor he had for his procedure both were great he said. It was very quick, and we were in and out. We then went to check out and they had already scheduled a follow-up without even asking us if it would work. We had to reschedule it for a date that did work for his work schedule. I love how they assumed you can just drop everything and be at an appointment without even asking the patient if the appointment was ok. We went for his follow-up, again the lady at the check-in was great. She was friendly and nice. The nurse who took us back was nice and explained everything very well regarding where to take the samples too etc. The Dr came in, ( who he was told he was seeing the same Dr. who did his procedure) and it was the lady, CRNP. When we asked about the times again for dropping off his samples again, because the times are absolutely crazy if you work a crazy schedule as he does, her response was so unprofessional she said just be late one day. I am sorry but his job is not a normal office job, and he can't be late. She was very rude to us and we both did not like her at all. I also will add when my husband expressed his concerns as to why we were not with the Dr. we thought we would be with, she didn't know and couldn't give us any answers. Needless to say we left the appointment because she made my husband and I feel very uncomfortable and was just rude. We are both glad we are done with the facility, and we definitely will not be back. read more

If you have a choice find another Urology practice I would not recommend York Towne Urology to a enemy. The staff is extremely rude and they don't like the fact you ask questions they will simply hang up on you. I had to reschedule my own followup appointment for my kidney surgery, I was told by the Doctor the day I was released from the hospital his office would contact me in a few days to schedule, I waited a week and finally called them to report no one called to schedule the followup, I was seen that day, on top of it they tried to charged me for the followup visit, I was told i had to pay so I did, then they came back to me while I was waiting to be seen and gave me my office visit fee back. I really like my Dr. but the staff is horrible, even after talking to the Dr. about the way I was treated by the staff it did no good. Here is another example of the staffs antics. After seeing the doctor about the surgery, I was told to go to the waiting and a scheduler would see me to schedule the surgery date, after waiting 25-30 minutes to see the scheduler a lady came out and told me my scheduler is in a staff meeting and won't be able to see me that day, I was told she would call me the next day, I was given a paper with her name and information about scheduling the surgery, never received a call the next day, on the second day I called her and left a voice mail, day three I called and left another voice message, she finally called later that day. The real kicker was that months later I had to see the scheduler again to schedule followup testing from my kidney surgery, guess what she was the same person that told me that my scheduler was in a meeting, I wondered why the original lady thought it was so funny when she told my scheduler was in a staff meeting, it turns out she was the scheduler. I have the ability to remember names and faces and this was the same person. I could go on and on about my experience with this practice. I would also add this is the only Urology practice in York, so your choices would have to be outside of York County. read more

I took my 88 year old father for his initial visit and the receptionist told us that my father would have to be seen alone. I told her that he would need help and instead of being gracious and understanding she continued to push the issue asking why. I found that to be very rude. As I waited in the hallway, I heard the same receptionist greet another patient, who was being escorted by her son, being asked if she would need to have help. She was in a wheelchair, my father's health issue is not visible. I'm not at all pleased with the way this was handled. I think some coaching on proper office etiquette is called for. read more

I agree with the previous "1ST reviewer". I have been involved with this practice for years. Fortunately I only need to visit once each year for followup. They are all less than friendly - from the staff to the doctors. My particular doctor is condescending and basically unkind. I think he is a very good practitioner in his field but lacks any sympathy or bed side manner. I was incredibly ill when I was first in his care. I found him to be downright mean at times. I must also mention that my DOCTOR has cancelled my appointment each of the last 3 years. I do my part but am forced to arrange my schedule at his leisure. read more

I engaged with York Towne in December 2021, for reflux obstructive uropathology and had inserted at that time a Foley catheter. My first appointment was not until 04/19/2022. I made the appointment and the only thing done was the change of my Foley. I was becoming impatient because the Foley interfered with some things desired to do. In June I had a cystoscopy which came back negative for cancer. I was rescheduled for a follow-up on September 9, 2022. I allowed myself to become upset over the seemingly long time between Foley changes and treatment. I verbally abused the nurse practitioners at my Foley change scheduled for late July, 2022. Being a veteran, I then went to the urology department at Lebanon VA hospital and the Physicians Assistant in the hospital spent about 30 minutes with me and completely disabused my attitude towards York Towne. There are only very few certified urologists practicing in the U.S (only 38% of the 50 states have at least 1 certified urologist as per the American Urological Association). The scarcity is apparently over low reimbursement rates. This is a market problem and probably somehow Biden is involved. At any rate York Towne has 2 certified urologists for a county larger than the state of Rhode Island and a harried and harassed staff trying to do their work for probable modest return. They are heroes. Love them and do not abuse them verbally. They are so harried that they do not have time to handhold every patient. I have phoned them and apologized for my attitude. Read all the reviews here and observe how much rancor is expressed. I have also experienced that the personnel at York Towne are always on the defense. Ya, think? read more

My experience started out good. I like Dr. Baselli and he tested me to see if I was good candidate for the Urolift procedure. I was and we planned on going to the next step, but before I left one of the office staff said my insurance wont cover procedure and the Dr.wants to discuss other options. I wasn't looking for another option so I called back in a couple weeks and talked with Dawn Noonan, office manager. She set up a three-way conversation for her , myself and the insurance which we did have but as the talk progressed I realized it wasn't Insurance not payng, they just won't pay what the doctors want, The insurance provider kept telling Dawn that if you refer to the contract between the two it tells you what they will pay. So at one time the doctor's office agreed to this contract but now they don't want to take the money that is offered to them. Dawn said it could take a week to get answers from the insurance company. I have tried to get in contact with Dawn twice and left messages to ask her about the situation and what is going on, but she has not returned any of my phone calls so I'm very disappointed in the way things have progressed. This has been 3 months after the 3 way conversation. read more

Starting with the less than friendly office staff, York Towne Urology lives up to a long established reputation as an unpleasant facility. The only good things I can say about YTU is that they take insurance, and the nurse who assisted Dr. Mirsky was friendly. Mirsky also seemed friendly enough, but he casually brushed off the results of the CT scan that led to my referral there in the first place. He was dismissive and even a bit condescending toward my family doctor, the ER docs and the Apple Hill imaging techs, hand-waving away their assessments. The fees from these blood tests and scans add up quickly, and even with insurance, the bills are overwhelming. When the urologist you've waited weeks to see simply waves those away without consideration, it's disheartening. Finally, there's a frustrating lack of communication on their part regarding their cancellation policy and what constitutes "compliance". Cancelling an appointment, even when done in advance and pursuant to their cancellation policy, can apparently get one blacklisted for "non compliance". They did not inform or warn me at any point that cancelling an appointment (cancelling because I landed in the ER, after which the ER physicians believed the issue was conclusively resolved) would put me at risk of being labelled "non compliant". The final deal-breaker was the office manager's failure to return my calls or to attempt to resolve any misunderstandings arising from this poor communication. This is just really unprofessional. Misunderstandings are bound to happen from time to time when you're dealing with people who are either in excruciating pain or heavily medicated with strong pain killers. A caring staff with some degree of professionalism will be understanding about these things. They will at least be willing to communicate and TRY to resolve the issue. Unfortunately, "caring" and "professionalism" seem to be in short supply at York Towne Urology. If you have a choice in the matter, this is not a place you want to be when you're in pain or otherwise vulnerable. If you are referred to a urologist at York Towne, brace yourself for an unpleasant ride. read more

While not an excuse, it seems as if all of the staff and physicians are running at a million miles a minute and as such service suffers. The most important thing for the practice to remember is they are treating human beings who deserve acknowledgment of their fears and concerns and respect. It is very hard to see or speak with a doctor even as an existing patient. Patients are forced to make their way through a series of nurses and nurse practioners and then, if lucky and all stars align you'll be scheduled with a doctor. It seems as if the practice needs a total overhaul. read more

The absolute worst experience I've had at a medical provider, including the most frustrating of ER visits that I've had over the years. Dr. Bacelli was an hour late getting to me then complained that my urine sample wasn't fresh. He used language not appropriate for a medical professional/patient conversation. He was rude and unapologetic for being an hour late. He then lectured me like I was a small child about my treatment to avoid kidney stones and obviously did not look at my medical history. When I was finally able to check out with a scheduler, I was told I'd have to wait 4 months to get a cystoscopy; 4 months? I was being seen due to blood in my urine with pain. He didn't consider this an emergency. I have yet to hear back to schedule my cystoscope sooner than January (it's now October) and was told by the scheduler that it was up to Dr. Bacelli to decide if blood in my urine and pain was an emergency. I will not be returning to this awful facility and I plan to make a formal complaint with my insurance company and the state of Pennsylvania's medical board. This doctor visit had many components that were unacceptable. read more
