After stupidly trying the asian fusion at the food court at Düsseldorf Arcade Mall week (don't do it) we had to go back to an original. Once into the restaurant it's very spacious with light wooden tables that are not bunched up together. The lighting at vietnamese restaurants always seems to be funky and this is no exception with a nice set of light features throughout. 19.00 maybe was a good time - quite quiet although a number of tables were reserved and it filled up more around 20.00. There was only one waiter and he wasn't pushy and the atmosphere is nicely laid back and relaxing ... a good place for a slow chilled meal. The menu is reasonably compact - which is a good sign although the drinks menu was more exhaustive. The pho came with fresh beansprouts and herbs and fresh chilies to add to the soup yourself. Definitely one of the more authentic phos I have had in Düsseldorf. My colleague had a chicken curry which again was a good portion and full of fresh vegetables. It will be interesting to see if the garden area is utilized in summer - as it look a little neglected - but the toilet facilities were clean and well serviced (note they are downstairs).

Just stumbled into this place by chance. The menu looked alright, so we thought to give it a try…read more The interior is actually pretty and modern and the food is quite okay. BUT, the service is ridiculously slow. We waited about 40 min to place an order and another 45 to get the food. This was unfortunately a waste of time. I wouldn't recommend going here until they changed their service policy

We were passing through Düsseldorf for half a day and saw they're known for their Japanese food, so we decided to check out Takumi! They have both indoor and outdoor seating available. AJITAMA TONKOTSU RAMEN: I'm a tonkotsu person and almost always order this over other types of ramen. Not sure if I was just so severely deprived of Asian food, but I felt Takumi's tonkotsu ramen ranked pretty high on my list! And coming from SoCal as well as having lived down the street from both major Japanese food hubs in Los Angeles, that's saying a lot! Good amount of pork, the noodles were cooked to the perfect texture, and the broth was rich without being overly salty. I don't usually enjoy other types of ramen so I can't speak for those items from their menu. But I slurped my entire bowl of tonkotsu ramen dry! KARAAGE: Large pieces with crispy exterior and super juicy interiors! I wasn't expecting much but in the end I was super happy we ordered this. Overall, amazing tonkotsu ramen located in Düsseldorf's Little Tokyo.
