My insurance had a problem a while back and I had to pay out of my own pocket. My bill was $200, then when insurance was fixed, for the same test the doctor charged my insurance over $800 for the same test. Is this legal? How does he get away with that? Now we know why are healthcare system is the largest expense in our GDP, and Doctors like this completely take advantage of seniors like me, because we assume the doctor knows what he is doing and never bother to ask. Then, if you have an appointment in the morning, the doctor is never on time, so plan on waiting over an hour to be seen. And then, when you finally get into to see the doctor, he spent 3 minutes with me, renewed my prescription that I have been taking for the last 2 years and billed my insurance company over $300 for the visit. There is no reason why I needed to come in when they could have easily called my pharmacy. Then, you have the staff. The staff are complete dolls. They are so nice and treat me with such respect and it is the only thing that is good about this practice. Then, you have the office manager, I believe her name is Angela, is the biggest B**tch! She took a close friend of mine to small claims court for a $20 Bill. And if you ever need your medical records, good luck. It took over 3 months after hounding over and over again before she sent them and they were incomplete. And if you ever need a test scheduled and need authorization from the insurance company, unless you hound the office manager, it will never get done. My current doctor has everything done in 3 days. This office only cares about what they are billing patients and not about the care they give. What every happened to doctors that care about their patients before the money. This was a noble profession that has turned into Greed. Maybe, American Greed show should be notified, this would be a great addition to their show. I have changed my provider and advise you to do the same. Start looking at your bills and question everything. I have already reported this doctor to Medicare and they assured me a full investigation will be completed. We as Seniors in the country demand the same respect from our doctors and not to be preyed on like vultures like this. SHAME ON YOU!

My name is Mark Writz & it was attempted to do a cardiac ablation on me today. Dr. Wassef had a 5…read moreday halter monitor placed on me. When I got my copy of the report, about a week later, it showed a lot of PVC's. There was Bigeminy & Trigeminy, along with short (but frequent) runs of V-tack which could easily go into a life-threatening cardiac event. She got a copy of the report, as I do. I was schedualled for a cardiac ablation. This was the 2'nd attempt made. The 1'st time it was because, although it was the day before the procedure, I was hit with a list of meds not to take starting 5 days before. During this procedure all seemed to go well as far as I can remember, but it all seemed to short. That's when I was told that the procedure was not done because they saw no ectopic beats. Now this was the 2'nd time this attempt was aborted & by now I was getting pretty pissed. I mean didn't she see her own report, or for that matter the RWJ cath staff as well. My best advice to you is that you stay clear of both this doctor (?) as well as this hospital. They have both made a ton of money off of me & absolutely nothing was done to help me. Now I have to find another Dr. & hospital myself. If you truly care about your loved one, do not let your family member get anywhere near these 2, or you may find yourself doing the horrible task of dealing with just another, unexplained, sudden cardiac death. Granted it's the patients responsibility ultimately to know the requirements of their insurance policy but the way the message was delivered was horrible. Told that it's below their pay grade to follow up with patients notifying them their previous issued referral had already expired, then proceeded to state that they could careless if their demeanor being rude, my mother sat in the waiting room in tears

I would strongly recommend finding another practice in the area. It's the responsibility of the physician to communicate with their patient, however, the mismanagement of this particular office seems to make that much more difficult than necessary.

He has been my Dr. for 18 years and when he moved his practice further from where I live I did not hesitate to follow. He is thorough, listens to all you concerns and does not rush you. There is never a "ok times up" feeling with Dr. Sobel. When you leave your appointment you know you were treated by a "true professional" who cares about his patients and his profession.
