This is a dog friendly trail. However there are no poop bags at the trail head so if you are bringing your pup, be sure to bring your own!!! Also there is no bathroom at the trailhead so be sure to go before you head to the trailhead. No trash cans either! Be prepared to pack out what you pack in, including your dogs poo. Please dont leave along the side of the trail.
This trail starts with incline from the get go. There are a lot of water crossings on this trail. Some of them are bridges, some are logs and some are just walking across walks in the water. The logs dont feel quite so precarious if its just you but if you are trying to get yourself and a couple of dogs across well..... it feels a wee bit scary. muahahahaha. There are at least 12 water crossings on this trail. This would be great for the pups in the summer when its hot.
However this area was hit by the fire 11 years ago. A lot of the trail and area is burnt and not a lot of signs of regrowth. Though in the summer i have seen under growth there.
Once you are around 3 1/2 miles in you begin to see some signs of life and several aspens. it was nice to see! read more
