Other than that, it's just women all day errday. I got the exfoliating scrub and massage. It was one of the best add-ons I could have asked for -- especially that massage! I feel like the massages in Germany are much different compared to that of the US? There's somewhat of a physiotherapy approach that you would find more or less at a clinic in the USA. Anyway, you can bring your own bathing suit or go around nekked. It's up to you, it's a judgment free zone and those Germans are very accepting of everyone you know! You're given a locker, and you can choose to get some towels and sandals for a small fee. There's also a shower, a dry sauna, wet sauna, and cooling room. I pretty much did everything I could in the 3 hours paid for. After you are done, dressed, and return your things (if you rented anything that is), you can relax in the front area with some Turkish tea. I slept sooo good that night. Can't wait to go back!

You walk in and the registration desk looks like a hotel reception area not a tiny counter. The main bldg is a large 2 floor lodge with wood appointments, a million recliners, a full sit down restaurant, a large indoor pool, and at least 5 large sauna. There are several relaxation rooms with large comfy chairs and even "beds" to nap. Leave your clothes in a locked locker and off you go. Go outside and there are more loungers, open huts in the grassy area, several pools, and another 4 or 5 saunas. There were a lot of people but it never felt crowded. Everyone is very relaxed. No clothes, no staring, and no awkwardness. You can certainly wear a rented bath robe while walking around (required in the restaurant). Some do, some don't. Body types of all shapes and sizes. If you don't read German, get someone to help with the schedule for free aromatherapy sessions in the saunas. I got lucky and walked into one as it was about to begin. It's was great. When he called to make an appointment they already suggested floating in a swimming pool instead of capsule. And when he requested the capsule specifically they said OK and set a date. But when my husband came to tranxx, they said (made up?) a story that just this morning they were fixing the capsule and something went wrong, so it's out of service! Since my husband is a very busy man and couldn't change the date they offered instead, he took the swimming pool floating. But IT WAS NOT WHAT HE CAME THERE FOR. He said it was nothing special for that money. What was the most disappointing that they didn't call beforehand to say they had a problem with the capsule!!! That's just a bad service. And they didn't seam sorry, didn't offer any extras as a consolation. I will never recommend Tranxx to any of my friends, nor I will ever go there myself.

I'm based in Los…read moreAngeles, where I normally work out at Orangetheory Fitness, which focuses on group-based cardio, strength, and interval training. With that in mind, I was mainly looking for facilities that supported active cardio workouts -- treadmill, rowing, and weights. Overall impression: Aspria Berlin Ku'damm is a premium fitness and wellness club in a prime location on Ku'damm. It features spacious training areas, modern equipment, and a wide variety of classes (yoga, cycling, HIIT). The highlights are a bright 25m indoor pool, an extensive spa and sauna area, and a rooftop terrace for relaxation. Families are well catered for with the Aspria Academy, family pool/sauna times, and there's also a restaurant, co-working spaces, and even a boutique hotel on-site. Areas for improvement: Climate in training rooms - This was my biggest issue. The workout rooms were uncomfortably warm, making high-impact cardio nearly impossible. Windows can only be opened by staff, and while portable AC units are placed at the entrances, they were rarely switched on. With outside temperatures around 80°F and direct sun through the windows, the rooms quickly overheated. When I asked a trainer for help with the AC or windows, I was told, "I am not responsible for that," which was disappointing. In situations like this, staff should take initiative rather than send clients searching for the right person. Thankfully, another trainer was more helpful, but this is definitely an area for improvement. Cleaning of equipment - I noticed very few members cleaned their machines after use. Spray and paper towels are available, but disinfectant wipes would be a more convenient solution. In addition, cleaning after use should be mandatory and supervised by staff. Phone use in training rooms - Several people were talking on their phones while using equipment, which was distracting. Clearer rules around phone use in training areas would help maintain a focused workout environment. Shower supplies - The body wash/soap in the showers was empty on multiple occasions. This should be checked and refilled daily. Summary: Aspria Berlin Ku'damm is a beautiful, well-equipped club with excellent facilities, but I believe attention to climate control, hygiene practices, staff responsiveness, and amenities maintenance would significantly enhance the member experience.

In reality, it turned out pauses were only allowed with medical or work documentation, and even then came with paperwork and restrictions. Not at all the simple, easy process that was promised. I paid all fees (except a disputed €5) and tried to part ways on good terms -- even asked if they could waive just one final month as a gesture, given we live nearby and had plans to return or recommend to friends and family. Sadly, that was met with zero flexibility. Ironically, my family is visiting in December and originally wanted to stay at Aspria for a full week. But I told them not to -- and we'll go elsewhere. Aspria "won" one forced membership month but lost six nights of paid stay and future goodwill. That says a lot about how they treat "loyal" customers. Trust matters -- especially at this price point. Sharing this so others know what to expect.

I started out with a massage (which was interesting because I don't speak any German and the massage therapist didn't speak any English!). Needless to say, the massage wasn't the best ever since I couldn't really tell the massage therapist what I wanted. The actual main room with the saltwater pool is pretty cool. There are pool noodles there to grab and then you float on them and listen to the chill music being piped in to the pool. I took one star off because I didn't like that I had to pay extra to borrow towels and a bathrobe while I was there. It was a unique experience at the Liquidrom and I really liked going there to relax in the large pool!

I am back in Berlin for the week and decided to treat myself to a few spa experiences. During my…read moreresearch I honed in on 2 spas in particular (and I'll write a review for both) - Liquidrom and Vabali. I went to Vabali first, and Liquidrom second. Liquidrom: The pool is within a quick walk from the U Bahn. It's a cool building (though the spikes belong to Tempodrom, not the pool portion). Upon checking in and getting changed in the locker room, I felt like it was basic, but functional. Their shower gel in the showers is nothing special or premium, but it works. Once showered, you enter a long hallway. And this is where the confusion begins. There is not a lot to do here. It's bizarrely disjointed since it's partially clothed partially nude. The clothed portion is the salt water pool. This is what you're paying €22.50 for 2 hours for. It's one pool (and I guess a tiny outside pool to sit in, but you'll mingle with nude people from the spa, if you're expecting to stay clothed). I think this whole space would make a lot more sense if they don't upcharge you for the spa, but make it one holistic no clothing experience for the full pool and spa. The pool itself is decent. It's moody with LED lighting and music playing. But it's not really that big. And it's circular, so I am not really sure what you're supposed to do here for 2 hours. It's the only thing you've payed for (other than optional massages and whatnot). Anyway, over to the Spa I went. €2.50 upcharge (once) and you're in through the turnstiles. And again I am confused. Where are you supposed to put your swim trunks? There are open lockers, but I saw a few people schlep their garments around all the time. In the spa. you have 4 saunas. 2 of which are pretty nice (the Aufguss Sauna at 90c and the Kräutersauna (I forgot the temp). The other two are a steam room and a 60c salt room (that I found to be kinda useless. It was not warm enough really to do anything). I was able to join one infusion in the Aufguss sauna, and that was hot and decently nice. The issue I was having (and the reason I only got to do one) is that signage and clocks are not super obvious. Apparently they only do these once per hour at the full hour. I got there shortly before 10am. I would've liked to at least have a chance to join the 10am one, but I didn't know, nobody tells you anything, and signage is hidden right by the Sauna, so deeper into the spa. I left after reaching the 2 hour mark, since I didn't want to pay for 4 hours (which is charges you if you go over). I won't come back. I think this place is crazy expensive for what you can do here. The spa facilities are confusing and not that great. Going to Vabali is not that much more expensive, but you get SO MUCH more. Don't bother going here, seriously, just don't.
