Through the years, I have seen different specialists, and I always come away thinking, "I should have just gone to Dr. Hyman.". He is knowledgeable about all the new treatments and clearly a very smart guy. He is also understanding but is a straight shooter. I love that in a doctor. Through the years too, I have been impressed with how well he manages his office. I rarely have to wait to be seen, and I can always get an appointment. When my daughter was transitioning from a pediatrician, he was no longer taking new patients, but he agreed to take her. She too loves him and comes from NOvA where she lives if she can for appointments.

I was then told to contact the office on 25th Street in Newport News because they not only are taking new patients, but they also accept my niece's Medicaid insurance. When I asked why that office is the only one in the Riverside System that accepts Medicaid, the receptionist, who seemed to hold biased views (based on the tone in her voice), simply replied, "I don't know." She knew, and I decided to leave it at that. My personal doctor left the Riverside System last year, and now I understand why. I will be booking an appointment for my niece with him after submitting this review. Shame on you, Riverside. If your office in the Black neighborhood can accept Medicaid, then all of your offices should.

They never contacted me to reschedule or followed up on the appointment they cancelled. The receptionist alone was enough to turn me off then they cancelled with no follow up to reschedule so clearly they do not care about new patients ... the search continues for a pcp and you wonder why age group 25-35 doesn't have a pcp commercial was great way to get new patients but they don't care to keep or see patients I was also told they don't bill for well causing you have to be seen first by provider then go back for a well/prev visit . This post is in reference to the Spirometry Department and the coordination of services with the…read morePulmonary Clinic. I love my Pulmonary Doctor and his staff. However. I have mixed reviews for the coordination of the spirometry tests and the actual doctor's visits. Usually the visits occur on the same day but frequently to my chagrin one or the other office appointment gets changed without any notice. You arrive and are told we informed you back in .... whatever date they decided to reschedule you. I would appreciate actually being notified of the change of appointment times and days. Again, I have no issue with the doctor's or staff services that are provided when I am seen. I am always seen within 15 to 30 mins of their scheduled time. The issue is taking off time from work and arriving at appointments that have been changed.

I've been very pleased with Dr Kevin Sanders. He became my doctor in December 2011 when I had a…read morekidney stone. I wasn't an easy patient - I didn't tolerate the stent well, but he was patient and kind. He was quick to get me in for procedures even though it was the holidays. Dr.Lasiter ended up seeing me in the ER Christmas night and was also very considerate, helping me manage my pain and deal with other issues to insure I could have my surgery on time. All in all I've found them both -- and their office staff -- pleasant, knowledgeable, and efficient.
