Stopped by when it wasn't icy and dangerous to work your way down. The falls were rushing nicely, with a fabulous long-reaching cool spray. Short, easy trail down...although it could be a tad steep for some. Otherwise there's a decent amount of parking, and it's such a short walk to see the falls, definitely worth checking out. read more

We were looking for a quick little getaway of a hike and this certainly fit the bill. Clickity clack on the interwebs, a plug into the GPS, and we were off. It's not too far off of the main road at all, and the hike down to the water is short and sweet, and only steep in one tiny section. This looks like it gets plenty of traffic in warmer months and there are lots of pools where you could take a dip. I wouldn't be surprised if the teen crowd parties here (read: I saw a few beer cans) but on my later spring visit it was cool and only one other group--a family-- was there at the falls. The falls are gorgeous, misty, and pretty straightforward in mass. We turned it into an impromptu photo shoot which was about my favorite part of the trip, and they made a nice backdrop. There's not much else here, and not much nearby. So bring your picnics, park, and come down to the pools or water and spend an hour watching the hypnotic tumbling. read more

Beautiful. I went here on a Wednesday. There were a couple of cars and people but it wasn't crowded, thankfully. The trail down to the waterfall is very a very short which is nice. I recommend bringing a raincoat when you get near the waterfall because when I went I forgot to bring mine and got really soaked from the water being blown in the wind. Anyway the drive to this place was long but worth it because of the beautiful scenery. This spot is really beautiful and magical. Clean and no trash. read more

We went on November 10th, 2017. Not far from parking is the falls. No cell service and no restroom at location. Bring appropriate shoes since a lot leaves will make short trial difficult. I gave 4 stars due to no restrooms and not handicap accessible. Beautiful and powerful falls. read more

I been to this waterfall so many times! It's a very easy walk on a dead end road. You can also visit the Chamber Of Commerce in Astoria and they will give you a map to this waterfall. The lady behind the counter gave us really good directions and it was pretty easy to find. In Astoria, at the roundabout where US 101 and Highway 202 intersect at the east end of the Youngs Bay Bridge, head south along Highway 202 / Business 101 for a mile and a half, then continue on Business 101 where Highway 202 branches off left (straight). In another mile and a half, turn left onto Youngs River Road (101 bears sharply right before you can turn left, so stay straight at the Y intersection, then turn left at the 4-way stop immediately after). On Youngs River Road, continue another 7 1/2 miles and turn right where a sign points to Youngs River Falls, immediately before crossing a bridge over the Youngs River. The parking area is encountered shortly after, and a view of the falls is afforded almost immediately, with a short trail leading down to the rocky beach at the base of the falls. read more

Really pretty. Fun quick trail walk. Wear shoes with tread or boots. Definitely worth the drive out
