Their family has run this hotel for several generations and it shows. They know how to treat their guests and the restaurant is outstanding too. After a few weeks of staying there and having them get to know me I was treated like family. I can not wait to go back.

This makes absolutely no sense. The food is just ok. The chicken skewers I had were overcooked with terrible kimchi. My salad was good, but it's a salad. The wifi was broken for the entire 5 hours I was there. It's a hotel with many guests who need wifi and the internet was totally down. When I was finished my dishes sat there for a half hour before someone bussed them. I would come her again for the great outdoor views and social setting on great weather days, but I'd come even more often if they had more workers so the service was more attentive and the food was a bit better. It's also the same distance to the city trams. The building incorporates the facade of an old historic post offfice and is beautiful. The staff was beyond helpful and courteous. My room was clean, quiet and comfortable. There was much thought put into the design and furnishing of rhe rooms. The bar and restaurant was excellent snd food delicious. The morning breakfast was delicious and offered a wide variety of options. I enjoyed my stay so much, I re-booked it for an upcoming winter trip. 5 star all around.

I would definitely recommend it to anyone staying in Mannheim or even staying in Heidelberg. It's just a short train ride to Heidelberg from the train station which is just a block away from the hotel.
