When I moved in the apartment was so clean it looked like I was the first one to ever live there. I regularly went to the office to pay rent and the office ladies were always ready to strike up a conversation and ask how the apartment was and how your school year is going. Throughout the year I did not have anything break in the apartment but they were always there to make sure the apartment was satisfactory. The apartments are very competitively priced for the area and you get more than you pay for compared to other landlords in town. Having rented from other landlords in Charleston I would only recommend PP&W.

I don't recommend buying a Lester Building at all, I bought one and just weeks ago had to pay an…read moreAmish Crew from Graber Bldgs. to come in and fix the mistakes and poor workmanship on it. I paid Lester Bldgs. extra for roof dripstop to be installed on the house portion of my bldg., but they shorted me on that, I also paid extra for 3/4" plywood to be installed on all exterior walls, but again I was shorted on that and Lester incorrectly engineered the exterior of my bldg. I dealt mainly with the Lester Bldgs. Regional Manager who provided me with one of their Lester Bldgs. Dealer/Builders from out of state telling me he did "Good Work", which turned out to be a lie. It took this Lester Dealer less than ten days to build my bldg. and then he left town, but before he left he told me that if he had to come back for any reason it would be a $500 minimum. Just weeks later we had our first rain, at which time I noticed that I had 25 leaks in my roof, I had water all over inside my bldg., so I got up on the roof only to find that this Lester Dealer had installed the roof screws missing the purlins and some screws were too short. Well I wasn't going to pay this guy to come back and fix his screw ups, so I ended up fixing them myself, it took me two days to do it, but I did it myself. It took me two years to finish and move into my Lester Bldg. at which time we started noticing more serious problems with my Lester Bldg. to the point where I decided to have an Amish Crew come in and check out my bldg. who found several problems, but before I paid them to fix my Lester Bldg. I first called the Lester Bldgs. Regional Manager out to see if Lester would help, this manager was shocked at my building problems, but after speaking with Lester Bldgs. Upper Management he said that Lester Bldgs. doesn't feel any responsibility for any of my "Building Issues" and I only have a one year warranty so they will not be helping me, I then asked if Lester could at least give me a discount on the soffit materials that I needed for the repairs, which totaled around $2,500, but again they said no, so I paid the Amish to fix my Lester Bldg. and the following is what they found: 8 roof Purlins not nailed at all, they actually pulled one up and out to show me, and this would explain why on windy nights it sounded like my roof was going to blow off. Gaps/Openings in my roof valleys where wind was blowing in and had blown my attic insulation away in those areas, cold air was also blowing in to my furnace plentum/duct work, rain had to be coming in too. A lot of the soffit only had one staple holding it on and when the staple tried to go thru the steel it bent only allowing 3/8" to go into the facia board which would explain the rattling we were hearing. Some facia boards were barely on the truss and nails missing the truss, we had to sister nailers on some trusses. Facia cover not cut to fit properly causing the ends to dip down an inch. 2 bird blocks not installed, but the ones that were installed did not have even one nail in them, I personally screwed everyone of them off myself. After I turned Lester Bldgs. into the Better Business Bureau they responded by putting most of the blame on their Lester Bldgs. Dealer/Builder, you know, the one they recommended to me. This Lester Bldgs. Dealer/Builders name is C&C Construction, Willis Childress is the owner. So with all that I went thru with my Lester Bldg. I wouldn't recommend anyone buying one.

I remember driving up to Arthur, IL with a colicy baby, and Mary who runs the office up, there took my daughter from me and calmed her immediately. And then while my daughter was asleep on her shoulder, she designed a kitchen that is still as functional today as when they were first installed. On top of that, their price was less that half the price of the kitchen and bath stores here in St. Louis. In addition, Plank's will always take care of you. I called Mary today to get a replacement piece, and she knew exactly what we needed (they still have our records) and they are mailed us the piece.
