I booked an appointment to dispose of an old fridge and a small flat screen tv. When they arrived, they quoted me $99 to remove both. It was not until the items were in their truck that they said they "FORGOT" to include an additional fee for the fridge. I paid the total cost, but called and spoke with a manager who refunded the extra charge. ***as I indicated I wasn't sure which location serviced my pick up but one did. They would have charged me more - but since there was damage to my home they decided to forgo. However, they did not repair the damage THEY caused. In addition, the crew was estimate to have 2 trips. We needed 3. (My furniture was less than in the walkthrough with my estimator.) I still have items they did not bring over from the trips! I do not recommend this "moving" company. They do not know how to estimate (and if they are wrong they will add to the final bill - if they don't damage your home.)

They loaded several pieces of large and heavy furniture and wrapped it in moving blankets so that all of it arrived in great condition. Russ and his helper (sorry I forget his name) were great at following instructions on which items to prioritize getting on the truck after it became clear that it wouldn't all fit. In one day, they packed up the truck in NC and delivered it to VA the next day without any breakage or loss. They even loaded my refrigerator on the back door of the truck so it could be plugged in over night for the next day's delivery with no loss of frozen food. All the crew members were respectful of our properties. PS: I do recommend a big jar of Halloween candy. It seems they each have a sweet tooth.

The arguments got so heated one of the workers left the site. They dropped furniture, damaged walls and trim work in the house where they were packing up and damaged trim work in the house that they were delivering the furniture. Hellen (the owner I think) tried to maintain peace but had no impact. The arguments between the crew never stopped and slowed down the whole move requiring two days to move. Without asking the moving crew went into refridgerators and pantries to get food. Used the microwave to warm up food without asking. Made themselves comfortable in the kitchen to eat lunch and never cleaned up. Smoked on the back porch and left ashes everywhere. Used every single bathroom in the house and broke a toilet paper holder in one of the bathrooms. Several pieces of furniture were scraped up because of poor inexperienced handling (ussually by one person when two were necessary to move it). They scraped furniture over floors rather then picking them up causing damage to floors. They forced large upolstered furniture through door opennings rather than picking them up and angling them through the door. They used furniture pads that were old and dusty. They still have one piece of furniture that they are trying to repair. I have used movers over 15 times up and down the east coast and by far Byers is the worst movers I have ever encountered. I would not recommend using them for your move.

We agreed on a price, and they came today; work was top notch! They were friendly and payed attention to details that I had not noticed.
