I want to start off by informing you all that I am extremely picky and don't get tattoos very often. That said, I make it worth my while when I do. My artist was Devin. Want a pun? Devin's work is divine. But really, though. I recently lost my mother, I was very close to her and I always planned a "mom" tattoo. She may never see it but the work Devin did is truly worthy of her honor. His line work is impeccable, perfectly crisp and vibrant. The color is bold and pops with clarity! Devin took my custom design and made it flow beautifully without veering away from my desired tattoo. Don't take my word for it- all I've been hearing from strangers is how gorgeous my new tattoo is. And I'll add that the process of getting inked was enjoyable. You heard me. Devin made sure I was taken care if, comfortable and well informed. I had the extraordinary pleasure of meeting Michael and Erja Wiltse at the Dallas Tattoo Expo this past weekend. I have been wanting a Walleye tattoo for the longest time and, if possible, the end result so greatly exceeded my expectations, I honestly got a little teary walking away (I know it's probably not cool to talk about tears in a positive review of a tattoo shop, but this tattoo had a strong emotional story behind it...so they were definitely good tears). The entire experience, from setting up the appointment with Erja over 1000 miles away...to the initial meeting...to Mike free hand drawing my tattoo right on my back (talk about custom)...to the excellent conversation about fishing during the tattoo...and of course, the end product. It was all first rate. Michael should teach a business class to other tattoo shop owners about customer service. It was like nothing I have experienced. Thank you Mike! My experience at Your Mom's was horrible. I talked and explained the tattoo I wanted with Nora, I emailed and also drew a picture of what I wanted so I figured she had a great idea on what I wanted not only by all the times we talked about it but she told me she knew what I wanted. Well that wasn't what I got. As she was still tattooing I told her that it wasn't what I wanted at which point she got very defensive and told me that I had to wait at least a month for it to heal to come back and get it fixed. I couldn't believe what she did it was nowhere near what we had talked about. Trust me I looked at her portfolio and thought she's good, she'll do a great job as it was a pretty easy design, well I was fooled. No way was I ever coming back to her and have her touch me with a needle again! Beware of her "skills". It's your body and your choice but I would rather have a child tattoo me before Nora any day of the week. I am going to a professional tattoo artist to fix what she did and I will upload photos of before and after so you can see the difference. It really sucks to have a tattoo on your body that wasn't what you envisioned but lesson learned. read more
