When our son first started at La Petite in Beavercreek when he was 2 1/2 things were pretty good…read more He liked his teacher; the director was good; our son seemed to be learning new things. However, when he turned 4 and switched to the front "room" (aka open space) with the older kids, things went downhill. The teacher turnover rate was high; the kids are in an "open" area near the front lobby, so there are lots of distractions; and it was often very chaotic when we dropped him off, which would immediately send our son into overdrive! Our son has ADHD and really needed a calm, competent, experienced teacher (or at least some ADHD accommodations) to help him, but that never happened. In fact, we would sometimes get phone calls to come and pick our son up because they couldn't manage his behavior. One time he 'spit' at a teacher (not acceptable but also not surprising considering that when my husband dropped him off several boys were running, screaming, and slamming bathroom doors)! He'd only been at school one hour when we got the call to come get him. Guess the teacher had no clue what to do with a 4-year-old boy who spits. I had to quit working that day, but still had to pay La Petite, of course! And, even more frustrating, by the time we got there, our son had already moved on from the incident and was happily playing outside on the playground. He didn't even know why he was being picked up. When we talked to the director and told her that our son was doing great (with no complaints from his teacher) on the mornings he went to his other specialized school, we were told by the director that La Petite is more of a "play based" school and that our son probably should be in a more structured school. Ironically, that is not what La Petite advertises on their website. They appear to promote STEM learning, and "meeting the needs of every child" but I can tell you from first-hand experience, and from the comments from several other parents we know, that is not what's happening there much of the time. It seems many of the teachers are just in "survival mode" in a space that often resembles a zoo. So, here's my advice: Do NOT choose this school if you: 1) Have a child with any special needs, including ADHD 2) Want your child to learn in a well-organized, calm, clean environment 3) Want to be able to work the hours you need to at your job (without getting phone calls to come get your kid) 4) Want a steady, calm, competent teacher with years of experience who understands the behavior of small children and knows how to manage them 5) Want to get what you pay for -- La Petite is NOT cheap!

Initially when we…read morestarted our daughter there, communication from the principal was good and the care provided by the teachers was decent. Things really started going downhill when Jessica took over as principal. We started noticing the updates through Procare were few and far between, and when asked for updates from the teachers at pick up we got minimal info... so we started resorting to watching the cameras that were made available to parents. At this point we started noticing our daughter (and many other kids) were not being offered drinks for breakfast - this was noted on MULTIPLE occasions. My husband and I reached out to the front desk numerous times to voice this concern to assure our daughter is offered drinks, and after progress was not being made we reached out to Jessica via email. The email was ignored, so my husband spoke with her one day at pick up to request a meeting - at the meeting we expressed our concerns of drinks not being offered, she assured us this wasn't true and diminished our concerns. We pleaded for her to look at the camera footage, but I don't believe this was ever done. We also expressed our concerns that Procare had been down for a month and paper charting wasn't being done. She gave some false promises that she would talk to the teachers and assure this is being done here forward and said there was nothing they could do about Procare being down. The coming few weeks we received maybe two paper charts with Procare still being down. The final straw was when we brought our daughter home and noted that she has a diaper rash and un-wiped leftover stool on her legs and peri area. This was shocking because our daughter is 2 years and potty training, and hasn't had a diaper rash since she was a newborn... and this happened in a matter of 8 hours at daycare. We pulled her from Kids R Kids that day, reached out to the regional director to voice our concerns, who was so apologetic and wonderful. She did inform us that Procare was only down maybe 3 days, and not the 1-2 months that Jessica led us to believe... so just another wild thing to add to the list of concerns. Overall I would NEVER recommend this daycare to anyone under the care of Jessica and the toddler room teachers (aside from Miss Helen, who was very kind and caring) they have no accountability and don't take parents concerns seriously. Please think twice before sending your child here.

Before CSC, she attended a larger, chain daycare. I work and go to school full-time, so my daughter is no stranger to long days spent with the daycare staff and other children! However, since she's been attending this daycare I don't worry about her being there too long, or being unhappy while she's there. This daycare is absolutely my daughter's second home. She loves the other kids, but most importantly, she loves the staff. Miss Bonnie, the director of Centerville Safe Care, treats these children as her own. She's interested in their lives, their hobbies, ambitions, pets, everything! These children aren't just her job, she genuinely enjoys every one of those kids, and they all know it. They all feel special there. My 9 year old will spend an hour at CSC before they drive her to her elementary school at 8AM, and she will be picked up from her school by them to spend her afternoon, until I get off work or school, as well. When the city schools are closed for a holiday like President's Day, the daycare is open. If the schools have a snow day, the day care is open. Even if I have the day off and my daughter doesn't have school, she still wants to go to daycare! There's so much for them to do. They constantly have fun experiments to do, or a field trip to go on, or games to play. The tagline for this daycare says, "Centerville Safe Care- Where childhood is a journey, not a race." Nothing could be more true. Your son or daughter will not just be a face in the crowd here. They will be loved and embraced for who they are. This daycare is such an integral part of my daughter's day-to-day life, I could not be more thankful that they have taken that opportunity to be such a positive and fulfilling experience for her. She and I will both cherish the memories, friends and mentors she has made her for the rest of her life. I have no doubt you and your child's experience will be any different.

Thursday 12/9/2021 I came to pick up my son around 5:30 like I usually do & there were no teachers around while I wait at the door. I seen all the kids where just sitting around very calm. I started hearing screaming so I peeked in a little more to see & there I seen the toddler teacher I call her Ms Nay. (She's light skin with red braids at the time) aggressively pushing around a toddler boy. When I say aggressively I mean aggressive enough to the point where I thought that might've been her child or someone she knows personally. I watched that little boy scream his head off while Ms. Nay continue to push and pull him while they are both sitting on the floor on the righthand side between two bookshelves. The other teacher I guess his name is Ms Aubrey finally comes to the door spooked that I am witnessing abuse, while Ms Nay gets up and is nervously looking at me look at her abusing that little boy. Now that day I didn't say anything to Ms Nay but I asked Ms Aubrey if that was her son & she stated "No I'm the only one here who has kids." Immediate red flag. The next day I confronted Ms Nay & She Stated "No nothing happened." I said Yes it did, I clearly seen you. She said "Oh we were just playing" I said "That was not playing when the boy was clearly screaming & crying" I even asked her if he was a difficult child.. She said "No he's good." 2nd red flag. I then spotted Ms Aubrey coming outside with her 2 kids & asked her if she seen what happen yesterday & she clearly said yes which I did voice record for my safety. After Friday I will not be sending my child back to Treehouse Childcare. I spoke with Keyshia this morning who is above the other teachers I guess and she shut down every allegation I said even though "she wasn't there the day it happened" she's claiming that all of the kids were being wild that day but all of the kids were being so calm. The only child who was being wild was the crying little boy being abused by Ms Nay. These are people who witness abuse, allow it and take up for the abusers. It's my word against theirs but voice recordings don't lie. My son loved this daycare & even though I am extremely upset that I have to remove him, start over, I do not condone any abuse towards kids who can't speak up for themselves. So If you don't want your kids to be abused I would not send them here!

It's clean, secure, and fun for our child. The center director, Melissa is great and if there is an issue to be addressed, she handles it with professionalism and confidence. You can almost guarantee that the issue will be gone by the next time you walk in the doors.
