Yu Fong...sorry, Yu W(r)ong The burbs strike again. Ah the ability to get good Chinese take out in the burbs is a task. This showed promise but proved to be a little more along the Mall food court type of place. The items I tried, Shrimp Fried Rice, Chicken Lo Mien and Egg Rolls were all very bland and much to standard. Very little flavor. The Chicken Lo Mien which was enough for 3 had very little chicken at all, a few pieces spread across the top. The food was done fast and was hot when I picked it up (they are a take out only and do not deliver or have tables). I wish they would have taken a little more time, added some flavor and sent it out luke warm. I will say it didn't taste like it had very much if any MSG in it. Then again MSG is an artificial flavor enhancer, maybe they should try it. KT read more

Had this for dinner tonight (chicken egg foo young, beef and broccoli, and Szechuan chicken). Sorry I didn't save pics - but again have to say that this is the best Chinese place in the western suburbs hands down. My dad just kept saying - this place is SO GOOD! He's correct. read more

I've been getting food here for 10 years, it's always good. I love the sesame chicken, wontons, spring rolls and fried rice. Food is always packed to the top and could probably last me 3 meals if I didn't inhale it so fast. read more

I'm a big fan of this place for lunch. Their lunch menu has several options at a reasonable price. Their portion size is huge and I'm never left hungry after a meal. Lunch combos come with fried rice and 2 cream cheese wontons. I usually upgrade the wontons to an egg roll for an extra buck. Hope you enjoy it like. read more

Very good, but not great...I eat here at least once every time I'm in town on business. The cheese wontons are delicious and the fried rice and cashew chicken are very good, but not extraordinary. Service is always nice and friendly...and there are always people coming in to pick up orders, so it must be very popular in the area. Prices are reasonable, but not cheap. I will continue to be a repeat customer knowing my reasonable expectations. read more

I am usually very particular about my take out Chinese food-- but this place was really good! The Sesame Chicken was amazing, not too sweet and very crispy. Also, the oyster wings were a great appetizer. My boyfriend and I couldn't get enough. We also had the Shrimp and Garlic sauce and the vegetables are really fresh and the dish was really flavorful.They have a variety of options and the service is super fast. Stopped by here after a golf tournament and was starving. Ordered for 4 people and it was ready within 5 minutes!! Super fast. The sweet and sour chicken was good with the sauce on the side as well! I had the General Tsao's chicken and it was a little under sauced but delicous over all. The Egg Foo yong was amazing as well with the scrumptous brown gravy! Not the best chinese food ever but was pretty happy with what we got. Will order from them again. read more

I had chicken fried rice on my first visit. It was very good with huge pieces of chicken. On my second visit I ordered a combination plate.The moo gu gai pan was o.k , but the fried rice with it was some of the tasteless rice ever .A few weeks later I tried the chicken fried rice again. The first pieces of chicken I ate were so tough ( cartlidge like ) they were inedible. I picked out all of the remaining chicken , but nothing could have helped the bland tasteless rice. Super fast, cheap chinese take out (no dine in option). Every order I have placed, big or small, has been ready within 10 minutes...freaky fast, right. The food is always hot and the rice is always tastes fresh made...mmm delicious. The woman is always pleasant and never skimps on the fortune cookies. I have tried this place a few times now. I have given it multiple chances before leaving a review. Everything has a weird fishy undertone even if it is not fish. The fried rice tastes almost burnt. When I think of a standard Cashew Chicken plate it seems to be about the same ... except with the dish here. Also, for the love of god - why is there no crab rangoon served but only cream puffs? These are not the same thing. The sucky thing is that it is close to where we live and the rest of the area around Maple Grove/ Plymouth seems to be a barren wasteland when it comes to good Chinese joints. What is that about?? Yu fong? It's no fong for my wife and I. The "hot and sour" soup was sweet and hot, totally inedible. The lo mein was dry and a couple of the noodles were still hard. DO NOT EAT HERE! The food is not good whatsoever. My husband who never complains about food stopped eating mid-meal, threw away what food he had left on his plate and got a bowl of cereal. The food was bland, not fresh and definitely not authentic. With so many other choices of places to eat, pass on trying out this this. You'll be doing yourself a favor. read more

We were greeted promptly by a friendly woman who was happy to answer questions. We placed our orders and waited about 10 minutes. He ordered sweet and sour chicken, fried rice and egg rolls. I ordered cashew chicken. The ingredients were fresh and they didn't skimp on them. It was probably the healthiest Asian food I've ever had which I can't complain about. However that being considered, it wasn't as flavorful as past Chinese food we've had. It was good but not as covered in sauce. It's probably for the best right?! If you're looking for a more fresh approach to Chinese food, this is it! If you're looking for sugary, syrupy type you may or may not like it. I had the General Tso's chicken, fried rice, and an egg roll. The chicken was very greasy and the sauce had no flavor. No spice just pieces of chicken fried in old oil. Not a good experience. There are several restaurants within walking distance, try one of them. read more

This place is a knock off. Food doesn't taste well. One person will take your order and if they get it wrong whoever is ringing you up will charge you for what they missed instead of being a business and fixing their mistake. Many better places in the area. read more

I had a craving for chinese take out and decided to hit Yu Fong; I only live about 1.5 miles away! I order Lo Mein, Chicken Fried Rice and Orange Chicken. The quality of food was above average when compared to other take out places. The portions were good for the price point. Fresh ingredients and they used white meat chicken in the rice. I usually stop by Yu Fong whenever I'm working in the Maple Grove area. The service is super duper fast, and the food is fantastic! Their Fried Dumplings are the best I've come across, and their Orange Chicken is amazing! I would definitely recommend checking this place out! read more

They get 1 star only because the egg rolls were authentic and halfway decent. The rest... the fried rice tasted like it had been cooked on a grill that had been used all day long without being cleaned once and there were about 3 visible chunks of veg in it, the vegetables tasted smokey/burnt and the sauce was overly slimy, the wontons were greasy. Pork egg fu young is plain egg fu young with a handful of BBQ pork on top all in what I can only describe as tasting like sweet hot dog gravy. I know Minnesota is not known for flavor enhancers like spices but without the soy sauce this wouldn't have tasted like much. read more

Average food and prices. We visit every now and then since we live very close. Their chicken is often crunchy, but not consistently so. We prefer their Generals chicken. Fried rice is pretty good. Unfortunately, they do not serve a good sweet and sour sauce like you can get at many carry out places. Also, closed on Sunday's. Good service. read more

Oh nooooooo They must have changed chefs. Finally got around to eating here again after a long break and the food was barely edible. Sesame chicken was burnt, fried rice and lo mein were extremely salty and the meat was old. Cream cheese wontons hardly had any filling. Bummer, used to be a lot better. read more

Ordered take out for lunch. Egg foo yong and fried chicken wings. Chicken wings must have been re-fried from day before because they were ROCK HARD. i love a good crispy chicken wing but these were so hard you could probably break a tooth on them I am not exaggerating! Now into the egg fu yong. The sauce was so salty it actually burns your mouth. I was so upset. I am usually someone who over salts my food but i this was so salty you could not eat it. I had nothing to eat for lunch so i actually rinsed the sauce off under water because i was starving! I called the placevand the lady who just sold the food to me answered. I gave her my description of the food and she thought i was lying for free food and i said NO! please take this suggestion to better your business but her pride was way too big for that. She said "customer like crispy chicken" and i said yes I know BUT these are rock hard. You can hardly bite into them. And as for the sauce on the egg foo..she said its fine just ask for sauce on side next time. She refused to take a customer suggestion. This was the second time i ate here in two years. NEVER again!
