I was just looking for a calm, homey sushi place that is CHEAP. I'm not okay with places charging 9 dollars for one eel avocado roll. THIS place was so cheap, sushi was fresh and sooo good. The service was great, and our server checked in on us at a good pace, which is important to me. This was my first time trying crispy rice and now I wish I could make this everyday. I tried to recreate at home once and ultimate fail. I'm glad I finally got to try :) The sushi cup was surprisingly filling and it was cheap. Everything was so decently priced, that's what impressed me the most. And for the price, great quality sushi. The ice tea is a must try. So tangy and refreshing :D

    Valentine's Decorations

I stopped by tonight and had a great experience. The restaurant is very clean, and they have some cute Valentine's Day decorations up. The wait for the food was not long, and it tasted delicious. The staff members were kind and courteous.

Only issue is that pointing at the ones we liked means I don't know what many of them were. My suggestion is to try and snag the bar seats! I know they're right near the front door, but it's so fun to see the food as it's coming out. Definitely worth it.

The waitress serving us was friendly. You're given an iPad to browse their menu - I always find it helpful when there are pictures, so you have an idea what you're ordering. The soft-shell crab appetizer was my favorite item. Big portions, very crispy and honestly one of the better soft shell crabs I've had. The grande sashimi offered a good variety of fish. Each piece had a topping/garnish with added more flavor. I thought the size of the sashimi slices were decent too - good to share with someone. However, the rolls were very disappointing. The issue was with the rice - it was very gooey, mostly likely from being overcooked. While the spicy salmon had a decent filling (though rice still terrible), we didn't taste much eel in the eel roll. Maybe it was a bad night for rice, as the sashimi and crab was good.

It's a pretty intimate spot (~12 people seated), had great music (they don't have karaoke but there was definitely karaoke) food was pretty fresh, and all for $100/person-- was it worth it? Sushi On Me breaks that standard and makes it an absolute party with a DJ on site, blasting great tunes while you "Enjoy Your F***ing Dinner". It's an absolute party, making this ideal for some sort of celebration, whether it's a birthday or girls night out. Also, the course comes with unlimited sake. For the 15 course itself, it is a Thai influenced menu, so there are some really creative dishes they made it work. They're not just an artwork, but also tasty. Some of the pieces involve a bubble gun, smoker, and blow torch. Speaking of blow torch, the sushi chef likes audience participation and you may be the lucky person chosen to blow torch one of the course for everyone. No pressure! Overall, it's a different, but really fun experience. The staff members are super interactive, making it fun. The course itself is delicious and can't really say no to unlimited sake!

The restaurant staff was very accommodating of our group, including us adding 2 additional people to our group the day of. I believe there is a party room for large groups, but we were able to be seated at a large half booth/half table. Upon my arrival the staff took my cake and candles and stored it safely in the back. Drinks here were pretty good. I enjoyed a Spicy Mono (my favorite) and a Bora Bee (large and strong). Everyone else in my group enjoyed their espresso martinis, beers and various cocktails. We all shared a large amount of food, but I'll just mention what I got to try. Spicy Tuna: Good, to be expected Kani Salad: Really yummy and light Bluefin Tuna Tartare: Delicious but I wish it was larger Salmon Tapas: One of my favorites Crispy Rice Sushi: Good and a good amount of tuna Crab & Spinach Dip: Really good Scallop Truffle Canapés: If in remembering correctly, surprisingly good Sunset Boulevard: I would definitely order this again! Unique in a good way because of the soy wrapping. Dragon Roll: Yummy! Sea Urchin (Uni): This was my final thing I ate and I was the only person who ate it. It did it not taste fresh at all to me, and it was $38 for 3 small pieces. I'd recommend either not getting this, or getting it with rice as it was weird just by itself. I would say the food was pricey for the quality of sushi, but it is Williamsburg and for the kind of dinner we were having...it made sense we were paying for everything that came along with a birthday dinner. The place itself lends itself to groups aesthetic wise because they play fun music, have a cute light up hallway for photo ops and have ambient lighting. In addition to the, the staff was clearly accustomed to these kinds of parties, as they arranged and lit all 29 (!!!) candles for the cake and after bringing it out for us to blow out, took it back to slice and serve it. I really appreciated our servers for doing this and overall the hospitality. One downside that really wasn't anyone's fault, but weird is a group of what appeared to be high schoolers celebrating some kind of homecoming we're taking up the bathroom having a photo shoot and I guess were pretty hammered because someone in that group threw up all over one of the bathrooms (speaking of, the restaurant has spacious restrooms). Gross but it what can be done other than not allow large parties of high schoolers I guess. I'd recommend having a large party/celebratory dinner here!
