I frequent here when I'm in the mood for comforting Korean soup and this slaps especially during chilly or rainy weather. For their soups, I'm a fan of their mandu rice cake soup when I'm not feeling spicy. Otherwise I get their original yukgaejang that is not too spicy but super comforting. This is also a great spot to grab galbijjim, it may seem expensive but it's so value in my opinion. It includes a generous portion of short rib, pumpkin, carrots, rice cakes, potato, and mushrooms. Once the sauce cooks down a bit, it creates a wonderful sweet and spicy glaze. The service here is very attentive and they always give us more banchan when we ask for more. All their banchan is amazing; we always get refills for it all - the fish cakes, kimchi, and chives.
The yukgaejang soup is absolutely incredible - rich, spicy, and packed with tender beef brisket, veggies, and your choice of ramen or glass noodles. That beautiful gyeran jjim (steamed egg) is silky smooth perfection. The banchan game is strong here with solid kimchi, fish cakes, and fresh veggie sides. They even serve you purple rice which is a nice touch. Everything comes served in metal bowls that keep your food piping hot the entire meal. Portions are huge and prices are reasonable for the quality you're getting. The yukgaejang with ramen is a must-try - those noodles soak up all that delicious spicy broth. Perfect spot when you need that warm, soul-satisfying Korean comfort food fix! Service is friendly and great as well.
I got the original yukgaejang with homemade ramen and it was soo good. They are generous with the portions with lots of noodles and beef. Their sides are super fresh and tasty. Waiters are attentive at refilling. The kimchi side dish is my favorite. Would def come back here if I need a comfort meal.
I go here for their bossam and their signature dish, yuk gae jang (spicy beef soup). The broth is rich and flavorful and not too spicy. The bossam is tender and the sides that come with the dish pairs well, especially the pickled plum(maeshil). Service is attentive and the restaurant is quiet and clean. I gave it 3 stars because some of the other items on the menu just don't quite live up to the name. They pride themselves of their broth, but their broth for the naengmyun tasted more like a watered down, store bought frozen broth.

Was feeling under the weather, so decided to stop by Yuk Dae Jang for some soup! There's lots of seating inside, so we were able to get seated right away even though there was a lot of people inside the store already. We got the beef short rib sullungtang with glass noodles, the beef short rib yukgaejang with glass noodles, and two sides of white rice. There were also complimentary side dishes that went well with our meals. Both soups were comforting and hit the spot. It was exactly what we needed. Service was on the slower side for us, and it seemed like they checked in on other parties more frequently. We had to flag down a worker for the bill and a to go container.
Came with my girlfriend's meetup group for lunch. Yuk Dae Jang opens at 11 and we were waiting, a group of 9. They pushed several tables together for our group. We ordered off the menu and settled on pork belly in soy sauce and beef ribs with glass noodles. Our food came out as the plates were ready. Everything tasted good and we lingered and chatted while we ate. Service was good and the pace was great. Low pressure. Tip was included in the check for our large group but the server pointed this out when she dropped the check.
Consistently good, authentic Korean food. Their pork belly is legit, as well as the spicy Korean beef soup. We always get those. Today we tried something different. The pork rib kimchi stew. It was really good, slightly on the sweeter side. Very rich, prob a bit too much, would've been nicer with perilla leaves to cut the richness a bit. Next time we'll stick with the usual.
Love the bossam and noodle soups here! We came on a Tuesday evening and waited about 25 minutes to be seated for a party of 5. I ordered the seafood noodle soup with fresh pasta and had the medium sized bossam set to share with the table. The seafood noodle soup was extremely flavorful and packed with a variety of seafood including mussels, clams, and shrimp. I love the fresh pasta here too - it has the perfect bite. I ordered the small intestines noodle soup last time I was here and that is also a great option if you want meat! The bossam was perfectly tender, juicy, and had an amazing smokiness. The bossam coupled with the side dishes makes an amazing wrap. The staff here are very friendly and parking is plentiful in the lot as well. Highly recommend you come here!
This is hands down one of my favorite restaurants in Irvine. The yukgaejang is absolutely delicious, the spicy braised short ribs are amazing, and the mul naengmyeon is incredibly refreshing and flavorful. Every dish we tried was excellent, and the service was truly top-notch. If you love Korean food, I highly recommend this place!
Yuk Dae Jang has several locations, including LA, Rowland Heights, Gardena, and Irvine. I've visited the Los Angeles and Irvine locations, and I have a slight preference for the Irvine restaurant. The staff was friendlier, and the restaurant felt cleaner and more inviting. Yuk Dae Jang is best known for their premium bork belly, and I've enjoyed it on a previous visit. So I decided to try something different this time and try the Braised Spicy Premium Beef Rib with flat glass noodles. I also asked that it be made less spicy. It still had plenty of flavor with just the right amount of heat, and the beef was so tender. Staff helped cut the ribs so it's easier to eat. I also ordered their steamed pork dumplings, which was a hit! The dumpling wrapper had the perfect texture - it held all of the flavorful filling together while remaining not too thick. The spicy cold noodles was refreshing, but I may skip this one next time. Definitely the star of the show was the Braised Spicy Premium Beef Rib! read more

Great flavor and good service-we enjoyed the house special bossam with soy sauce and the house cut noodles, it was plenty of food for the two of us and lots of yummy leftovers. The banchan was great and I loved the texture of the noodles. read more

I got their cold noodles and it was so good! Portions were HUGE and the servers are great and recommended some pretty good stuff! Their spicy cold noodles werent super spicy but had a great flavor to it, I wish it was abit spicier and they give more meat! read more

everytime i go, i get the original yukdaejung with ramen. the soup base is spicy with a lot of flavor, and there is a good amount of meat inside as well! i really like the chewy noodles and everything plus the broth is so warm and comforting. feels like an authentic korean restaurant with posters of soju with idols on the wall and kpop blasting on speaker, loops of mvs playing on the tv. the side dishes are good too. it's a meal that you think about when you are hungry and cold, definitely a go-to for winter. read more

Amazing food and quick service! My boyfriend and I visited for lunch and I was so happy with the food! I ordered the yukgaejang with fresh pasta and he got the cold noodle. Both were so flavorful and the noodle textures were perfect! Portion size was pretty big which I appreciated. I have zero complaints and will definitely be back multiple times! read more

This week has been ROUGH and I started to feel under the weather this morning. When I want a subtle soup, I gravitate towards sul tang. Compared to other Korean soup or stews, this one is perfect when you're having cramps or want something that'll soothe you. They packed my broth with tons of spring onion, scallions, and onions(?). Wish there was less of the aromatics and more noodles but c'est la vie. It's supposed to be bland so add salt and pepper accordingly. Apparently the broth alone has tons of protein too.. and paired with purple rice, you got yaself a healthy lunch or dinner. read more

We ordered a small bossam and the premium tripe and brisky yukgaejang to share. I really liked the bossam, it was soft and fatty and it really tasted great with the sides especially with kimchi or anything pickled to cut some of the fat. This was also my first time trying bossam that is boiled in a variety of herbs, and it has a sweet savory soy sauce taste to it. I'm more used to bossam that isn't boiled in anything and might prefer that. I was not a fan of the yukgaejang, I like the glass noodles and brisket but the soup tasted a bit sandy or gritty to me. There was also very little brisket in the soup and it was mostly filled with tripe. The tripe were soft and chewy but some of them felt like it wasn't cleaned properly, after eating one that was a bit sandy I couldn't really bring myself to eat another one. read more

Dined in on 3/30/25 with a group of 7 for dinner. We ordered premium pork belly boiled in various of herbs (Large), YukGaeJang Hot Pot army style, and bulgogi japchae. Bossam - tasty!! You cannot go wrong with their bossam. It is delicious and tender. Mixing it with the sides made it even better! YukGaeJang Hot Pot - this is quite simple with ramen noodles, spam, sausage, mushrooms and tteobokkk. I thought it was going to be plain, but their bone brith soup made it extra flavorful. I like how our waiter asked if we wanted more. Good service! Bulgogi Japchae - tasted a bit sweet, but they gave us a good amount of meat Overall, it is a bit pricey but worth if you just get the bossam and army hot pot. read more
Modern, clean Korean restaurant. Ate here on a Sunday evening with no wait. Bossam- definitely the star of the show. It is a bit different from the bossam we are familiar with. It's warm instead of cold. The pork belly skin is braised/chewier instead of simply boiled. You wrap it in napa, not spicy kimchi, ssamjang (soybean paste), saeujeot (salted shrimp), raw garlic, jalepeno, and salted spicy radish I believe. There might have been another pickled dish but I'm not familiar with it. We orders a large platter for 7 hungry adults and it was just enough with our other two orders. Army Stew - spam, sausage, thick ramen noodles, flat tteobokki, variety of mushrooms, Napa cabbage, leeks, and pork pieces in spicy creamy broth. Oddly addicting. One of the servers offered to add more broth (I believe bone broth), which I appreciated because it brought down the spice level. Wish we knew to ask for it earlier. Bulgogi Japchae - generous portions of beef. It's a bit on the sweeter side as bulgogi marinade typically is. Notes: -you can ask for hot barley tea. I believe it is complimentary but if you don't ask, they start you off with cold water. -18% gratuity is included in the bill when you have a party of 5 or more read more

This is my go to bossam spot in Irvine and have also introduced my friends to this place (and they love it!). These photos were taken on my first dining experience. For a big party, I recommend the army stew as well. Service has always been amazing. Been back over 5+ times already! read more
This place was so affordable! For a party of 3, we ordered 3 dishes and left feeling satiated. We came at Friday night around 5 and were seated right away, but within 30 minutes, there was a very long line forming outside. Here's what we got: -Yuk Gae Jang (3/5): my first time having it but honestly not my favorite. The broth was savory but it was reallyy spicy for me and slightly oily, and I am also not the hugest fan of shredded beef. just my personal preference though -Pork and Chive Mandu (5/5): these were so good! the inside was so fragrant and juicy and the skin was perfectly delicate. -Naengmyeon (5/5): wow, my favorite dish of the night! The noodles had the absolute perfect texture and were so thin and stretchy, allowing for a nice slurp. also loved the pickled radish and the vinegary-ness of the broth! I walked into the restaurant and only saw that it was constantly busy with a sign up sheet for getting a table. This place had to be legit. That atmosphere was pretty chill with lots of families/groups coming in and out. Lot options to choose from the menu but I felt like I had to go with their speciality which was the spicy beef soup. They also provided side dishes for you to enjoy along the meal. The servers were attentive and always kept checking on me. Overall great experience and good place to grab some soup or Korean food. read more

I came here on a cold day, and the soup was just what I needed. I was also craving KBBQ but didn't have in me to do AYCE, so this was a good alternative. I had 0 wait time when I came in around 7PM, so that was a huge plus. I ordered off of recommendations from the workers as this was my first time having this, and they did not lead me astray. Back again!! For bossam muahaha. They plate it differently this time with a steam plate on a gas stove and needed to ask for more lettuce. The paste is the same quality as last time and I feel like it is decent bossam. Shared amongst 3 people if you don't have too big of an appetite it is a filling meal. We got the seafood soup with fresh noodles which I did not partake as much in, but the noodles had a nice qq texture to them that i enjoyed and the soup came with lots of smaller sized seafood. The sullungtang was good but not expected, more leek flavor than green onion/ milky broth and salt ( preseasoned). We ate a filling meal for 3 people at a reasonable price. The side dishes were fresh, kimchi crunchy/fresher and the fish cakes were yummy. One consistent thing was the service is fast due to the smaller space, but you do need to call them over. However, they filled our requests in a timely manner while doing their other tasks. I think its a good place for bossam with okay soup. read more

Oh yes we are! We have been open for a while now. We are Togo only on Tuesdays for now but will fully open on Tuesdays as well shortly.
I have a very serious peanut (/ ) allergy. Does this place use peanut in their banchan, sauces, food?
We don't carry any peanuts in our kitchen & never had any trouble with customers with peanut allergy so far. Thank you!
Do you serve gluten free ( wheat flour free) noodles?
We have glass noodle that is made from sweet potato.

Yes. We have Assorted Mushroom and Tofu Soup.
Are they opened for indoor dining?

Are they using filtered water making their soup? I heard some of the restaurants use tap water to make their soup and wanted to make sure if their broth is made from filtered water.
