I ate in for my birthday last year, and it was a large group but the restaurant was pretty quiet. I was the last person to get my food, and I'm talking like half of my party was DONE eating before I got it. Other tables that were seated after we ordered got their sushi before I did. And then I just received a roll at a time, which isn't the end of the world, but I like to eat from each roll and compare / go back and forth. I shared four rolls with a friend - Georgia Crunch, Salmon Tempura, Energy, and Braves. I thought Georgia Crunch was just alright. Salmon Tempura roll was pretty spicy and very good. The Energy was very yummy and the Braves was really good, just note that it's five very large pieces (circumference-wise). My gf got a hibachi dish which she said was different then any hibachi she's had but enjoyed it. It didn't come with enough rice though. A couple weeks ago, I figured I'd give them another chance and ordered takeout. I got the Alaskan and Hawaiian rolls. They were both ok, very fresh but kind of bland. They didn't give me the spicy mayo that comes on the Hawaiian roll, which was very disappointing. Also one is listed as having "crab stick" and the other "crab meat," but they both came with crab stick. If a roll has crab stick in it, that's what should be listed! Even if that's what's meant by crab meat, they should be consistent when listing what's in each roll. My gf got the same hibachi dish, and it was fine but they only gave her a tiny scoop of rice. There is no reason to skimp on rice! The prices are comparable to other sushi spots but I don't think I'm going to go back again. read more

Had a late lunch at Yuka Sushi today that was amazing! I got the chicken teriyaki bento box which came with miso soup, ginger salad, chicken teriyaki, white rice, blue fin tuna roll, 3 pieces of nigiri, shrimp and vegetable tempura, 1 gyoza, cucumber salad, Korean fried chicken, and fresh orange. All this for $30.16 with tax and every piece was delicious! The restaurant is cute, decorated with Japanese flowers and paper lanterns. Hard to leave a review when there are so many good reviews and mine compley contradicts anything close to the food being "good" Ordered Togo hibachi, mediocre would would be giving more credit than credit is due. Such an amazing interior in this place! Located in Sandy Springs, the area offers valet parking but there's free parking in the garage for 2 hours. The waiters were very friendly and knowledgeable in the menu which I love cause I'm always indecisive. Settled on the Buckhead Roll which was soooooo good 10/10! The shrimp tempura was cooked well and the eel tasted very fresh and I love that especially when eating raw fish. Similarly, the bluefin tuna maki roll was fresh as well! This was my first time (knowingly) ordering a maki roll and it won't be my last. The maki rolls were relatively inexpensive too going for $7-$12 for 6 pieces which I can't complain. The sushi regular was pretty good ($21.99+tax+tip). Fresh, sizable, and well laid out. The rice was a litttttle stale but can't complain really. They packed a bag of ice to keep everything fresh. I think I may have found my go-to local sushi joint in Sandy Springs! It's located on a busy portion of Roswell Road. Parking is going to be what you find in the street, or the nearby decks in the back and side. Should not have any issues finding a space. Interior was cute and modern, and you can't miss the cherry blossoms all over the ceiling. It's a nice touch that makes it standout from most other restaurants in the same niche. Service was attentive and timely the whole stay. Highlight was surprisingly the tempura appetizer. That sauce they have is some of the best I've had ever! As for sushi, I got my usual Rainbow Roll, and we shared one of the special ones that had unagi and avocado. Everything was tasty, and I think the fish and rice quality was solid. If I had to be picky, I think some of the fish pieces were a little too thick? The price is just a hair higher than what I'd like for this level, but you're probably paying to be in a nicer area. Overall, I'd come back here to chill with friends. No one's ever going to argue that this is THE BEST in town, but it doesn't need to be. read more

Visited this place for the first time last week. Arrived 40 minutes before closing and they weren't slacking off at closing time. They treated my daughter and I well. My daughter ordered crunchy fried lobster rolls and I ordered crunchy, spiced tuna. We were both happy. Mine was great. Her lobster was great and exactly what we hoped for. We were still finishing up and lost in conversation ten minutes after closing. No one seemed to care and no one rushed us out. Another great new to me Sandy Springs restaurant. I am looking forward to going back and trying something new. I thought the pricing was fair. My daughter who lives in LA thought the pricing was cheaper than we had any right to expect. While I love sushi, I'm still pretty limited with what I order. I know, I know...I should expand my pallet. But for my similar friends, they have a large selection of rolls that are not raw! Lol We started with a bowl of edamame, can't go wrong there. You like it or you don't, can't really serve it incorrectly. We also ordered a bottle of blueberry sake. It was interesting. Can't say that I'd order it again. It we definitely finished it seeing as we ordered a whole bottle. It had a weird after taste of string imitation blueberry and was really sweet. This restaurant was recommended by a friend, one that I will never take recommendations from again. The staff were nice enough but were all over the place. Our bartender was the delivery guy, hostess and server. Our food was mediocre at best! The Korean fried chicken was tasteless and our sushi was mushy. Although a Carry-Out order to feed six people, the food & experience was on point. When I called to place the order Bernard was so welcoming & helpful in taking the multiple orders I had for him. Same friendly service upon my arrival. He walked me through the orders to ensure the accuracy & took pride in showing me all the packaging/condiments/utensils, etc he personally put together. Of course, everyone was satisfied with their food & everyone was on one accord regarding the prices. The place is gorgeous & their food was a solid 3.5 star only thing I'd recommend is offering yum yum sauce with the fried rice. The chicken hibachi left my youngest disappointed he didn't touch it. Best sushi in Atlanta IMO & I've eaten a lot of sushi around over the last 20 years. Exceptional staff -- always feel very welcomed by KJ and the owner when I come in. Fish slicing is beautiful and generous. The fish has almost a butter-like texture even for the salmon that reminds me more of the experience of eating Bluefin/Otoro. Saki selection is extensive with an area to go browse through them and they provide an excellent background on Favs and styles. The outdoor patio is relaxing and I love sitting at the bar there. Interior is well thought out and intimate. Very clean and sophisticated kitchen and bar. I enjoy coming by for drinks even if I'm not in the mood for sushi. Enjoyable music that has a modern chill vibe. A real standout must-try item is the Avocado Creme Brûlée -- such a unique experience. The idea of creme brûlée of a savory item like Avocado served over shredded carrots (which add a surprisingly great taste/texture). Another amazing flavor is the use of what tastes like Nero truffle on some of the fish which is a surprisingly superb complementary addition. The biggest thing I've noticed is consistency in the quality. Same people working all the time. Same high end fish experience. Same pleasant atmosphere. Ok so usually I love this place. My coworkers and I go often and I usually order once a week. The quality is worth the price for sure. BUT today I ordered two portions of the Maguro (fatty tuna comes in 3 medium size pieces), ginger salad, miso soup, a side of spicy Mayo, and a side of eel sauce. What I received was one order of the tuna cut into 6 small slices and one small container of half eel sauce and half spicy Mayo. Also the spicy Mayo was gross and must've been the wrong sauce. While my opinion of the specialty rolls were that they all appear way too heavy, they did have a menu of "fresh rolls." These are rolls where the fish can really shine. I had the Samurai and the Rainbow. Both were excellent. I also enjoyed a sake flight which provided a nice eclectic mix of sake. The service is where I was disappointed. The restaurant was very quiet (it was 7:30 on a Wednesday) and only four tables were occupied. Still, it took an extreme amount of time for the server to take my order and for the order to be made. Once I received my sushi, I never saw the server again until I got up to ask for the check. I wish she had checked on my. I would have ordered and enjoyed more. Maybe it was a bad night. A side of veggie fried rice was $15. The lychee martini was tasty but strong so harder to drink than I had imagined. (I needed it after my toddler had to sit in my lap the entire time bc they didn't have any booster seats or high chairs.) Service: SLOW.
