Anyone telling you this food is not good is surprising. I don't live that close and it is typically half an hour before I get my food but every single time it's so fresh, veggies still crunchy but cooked, proteins are plump, and cooked perfectly, and its still very hot upon arrival every single time. I'm blowing on my bites through the majority of my meal. The shrimp and scallops is what I got this time and it's my new favorite. I was worried that the scallops would be tiny and not many but there were a bite of scallops and shrimps in every bite. They are fresh and both are jumbo in size plus the veggies are bite size not huge to take up most of the bowl like so many places do. The sauce was so flavorful and I added some pepper to spice it up with the sweeter sauce which made it extra delicious. I read where they use vegetable oil. My go to when ordering delivery because it's everything you need on take out. Still a 10 star in my book. read more

We have been frequent diners here for years. The food is probably some of the best Chinese food I've had anywhere. Not only does it taste great they are very generous with their portions and we always have leftovers to enjoy the next day. Service is fast and the people who work here are very friendly and willing to help with suggestions if one wants to try something new. The restaurant is clean (passes the bathroom test - if it's clean it's a pretty sure bet the kitchen hen is clean as well). It's pretty obvious that they take pride in the food they serve. read more

Did not listen to "no onions". My Beef was like rubbery fat that you couldn't chew. Her sweet and sour chicken was incredibly gross. We each tried one bite and had to throw everything away. We pretty much lit $40 on fire. read more

This is our "go to" for Chinese. The ingredients are always fresh. My husband LOVES their BBQ ribs. They are delicious. We've tried many dishes and are always pleased. Since we moved, we are now in delivery zone which is great. Their restaurant is just fine. Love dining in when we can for lunch, because their specials are great! read more

Excellent Chinese/Thai food! Our first Asian food order in PCR after moving here from Orlando. Thoroughly impressed. We ordered the following in take out: - Pad Thai - Orange Chicken - Sesame Chicken - Mongolian Beef The food was piping hot when the order said it would be ready. The chicken dishes were delicious. They use white meat and it was tender and not greasy. The pad Thai was also good. We will increase the spice level next time. The Mongolian beef was our least favorite. Just could've been more meat and less onions. So. Many. White. Onions. We will be ordering again for sure! read more

I will never understand some of the high scores for places like this that simply ignore details or have head scratching abnormal execution. Hot and sour soup has a cough syrup like essence that made it inedible. The Mongolian Beef was gnarly and soft somehow at the same time and served with orange, yes orange lo mein?!? I swear I thought they were carrots (might have made them better). To top it off the huge pieces of soggy General Tsos Chicken were glazed with an overly sweet and underwhelmingly bland sauce with no fried rice that I order in sight. The food is literally the best Asian food I've ever had. The staff has always been so friendly and welcoming. My only complaint is that they don't have a restaurant within a mile from my house, but then again I would travel 20 miles or more to eat there! Thank you YUM!! read more

This is an updated review of YAB which is clearly our favorite restaurant in Frisco. Certainly ranks with the best Asian food we've found. Wife is a huge fan of the Cashew Chicken with brown sauce. She clearly loves the brown sauce. This time around it was the Steamed Veggies with chicken and the brown sauce. We always do these with fried rice. She loved the dish and the appetizers. My favorites are the Crab Cheese Wontons and the Mango Chicken or Shrimp. Chicken this time around. The backup dish is the Kung Pao Three Flavor. Service inside can be very good to just ok but we deal with it given the great food. Ambiance is nothing special but it's acceptable and clean each time we've been there. I have been pleased with two of the dishes. I have had there and two not so much but I would say the two that I didn't care that much for weren't bad they were just not to my liking. The two that I liked were the Penang curry and beef with peapods.. Bigger issue was that the restaurant didn't feel clean and I I'm sorry to say that twice when I walked in there, there were plates left on the table the entire time we were there with no one picking them up and taking them to the back and cleaning off the tables. I just found that there was no excuse for that since there was only our table and one other table that were occupied the entire time we were there! read more

They were cooked right and they're delicious. =========================== Just got here for lunch. Our first time here. This place is quiet and not busy at 2 pm. Pleasant and well lighted area near Tom Tumb supermarket off FM 423, Frisco TX. I ordered General Tao's chicken. Presentation is like szechuanese Gen Tso's chicken, but their version has brownish spicy sauce with bell peppers and broccoli. The chicken meat are like chicken nuggets ball shaped breaded and fried. It's delicious. My wife ordered chicken broccoli in white sauce. The sliced Chicken blended well with sautéed veggies and broccoli. Taste great. Serving portions are above average. They have lunch specials, pri $ingle (12 to 3 pm) with your choice of egg drop or hot and sour soup. Also, your choice of steamed white or brown rice. They also have a shop in Little Elm, TX. Update as of July 10, 2019 I ordered chicken with cashew nuts, lunch special. Their rice serving is now a small scoop of brown rice not like be. Their hot tea cost $3 per person. I normally love this place. Today's order was a disappointment. The low main was old and tasted like a fridge no one touches it, has to throw it away . The sweet and sour chicken was not the way they normally serve it. Evening was served by it self , not the usual way. Soup was good, egg rolls were good too. I've eaten here many times and the I'm always surprised by how good the food is! The only constructive criticism is the preparation of the dish. Today had the usual Lettuce Wrap and they were superb! I ordered the Chicken Hunan, no rice extra Broccoli...light white sauce. It was very, very good as well...but as I mentioned above it's typically a surprise because the dish, while always delicious isn't consistent in how it's prepared. Some may find this to bothersome but I tend to wait in pure excitement as to hits going to be today. In true fashion super tasty and prepared to perfection. I've been ordering from them for years for delivery. Last week I ordered at 5:20 because it's the first time I ordered with their new website and the website is confusing. It took me a good 1015 minutes to figure it out. I was told 45 minute delivery. Delivery was an hour and a half, and the food was cold. You can track the delivery person on the map and apparently she went down 423 in the other direction to deliver something almost to 121 and then turned around and delivered something which was just 2 miles from the store. I will not be ordering from them again because in addition to the horrible delivery service in the cold food, the chicken was hard as a rock. read more

I am a big fan of Yum Asian Bistro. I found it on Yelp and ordered delivery many times. Recently I went into the restaurant for dinner. I always thought the food quality was very good and fresh. As you would expect, it's even better when it comes straight from the kitchen. Hot and Sour Soup is always a starter for me. Lo Mein is my favorite and got can't go wrong with the Chef Special Lo Mein. On this trip, I had Edamame, Lettuce Wraps, and Kung Pao Three Delight. All very good. Yum Asian Bistro is not the nicest interior restaurant but it's priced reasonable and is consistently very good with fresh ingredients. Delivery or dine-in, you can't go wrong. read more

Updated review: tried the teriyaki chicken and tao's chicken and both were great! In town for the weekend to visit family and I was craaaaving some combination fried rice. I'm glad I found Yum Asian because the name fits this place perfectly. Portions are huge, prices are great and the food is...well, YUM! Came in on a Friday night and the place wasn't too busy. Customer service was great! I was given time to decide what I wanted and was thanked many times for choosing to dine at Yum. There were a few families inside eating so I didn't wait long for my food at all, no more Bc than 15 minutes. got the combination fried rice with extra egg and the crab cheese wontons. Usually when you ask for extra egg in your fried rice, they barely give you any, but Yum gives exactly what you ask for. There's another location in Little Elm, not too far but I chose this location because the reviews were better. There aren't a lot of restaurants in the area, let alone Asian cuisine to choose from with it being a new area but this place is definitely a gem! Whenever I'm back in town, this will be one of my go-to places in the area and I'm sure my family that lives here will be coming in soon also; they loved it! read more

Best Chinese in the area. Always fast and you get your moneys worth. I always get the sweet and sour chicken. They give you enough sauce to swim in (not sure why really) but the chicken has never been tough or burnt and always perfect size. I can usually get 2+ meals from one order. They also have great chicken fried rice which my nephews devour and the portion is really big. I also get the happy family sometimes when I'm up for changing it up. Great variety of meat in there and good zing in the sauce makes it really great. Try the crab wontons with cream cheese. They're always still warm by the time I get food home and the perfect amount of gooey. Never had anything that wasn't great here and it's been my Go to Chinese place for over a year now. Tried for the first time today & the food is so good I stopped between bites to show some support. I ordered the crispy shrimp rolls and the honey walnut shrimp with fried rice. Everything was cooked/ seasoned perfectly & arrived hot, despite being delivered. The shrimp are enormous, both in the crispy shrimp rolls and the honey walnut shrimp. The broccoli was cooked really well & the walnuts are delicious also. My only complaint is that the honey walnut shrimp didn't come with the sauce on the side (I ordered to go), so the shrimp weren't as crispy as they could've been upon arrival. Other than that, I love this place & would definitely recommend based on the experience I had today. Also, the delivery driver was timely and very polite. 10/10 Edit: ordered from here again today (the following day) and was not impressed. The delivery driver failed to ever knock on my door; after about 40 min of waiting I decided to check outside & my food was there. I ordered the seafood delight today. The website states that the dish includes crab meat; it does not. It has slimy pieces of imitation crab, overcooked and unseasoned scallop, and a few shrimp. This is one of the worst dishes I've ever had. Unfortunately instead of enjoying this dish I'll be putting it in the trash. The "special white sauce" is just a thickened cornstarch slurry that adds absolutely nothing to the dish. None of the vegetables are seared or seasoned and they are all over cooked. No worries, they are located off Lebanon and FM 423 in Frisco in the Kroger shopping center and a 15 minute drive. Craving Chinese dinner and glad to find this place! 1. I appreciate how they are practicing safe distancing. A row of tables set up by the entrance where customers can pick up their to-go orders. Or they can place their orders with menus available. 2. Friendly and courteous customer service. I was greeted the moment I entered the restaurant. And the employee asked to make sure if everything looked correct with my order. 3. The food was fantastic! We had ordered 3 apps and a main entree. Upon opening and plating the food at home, it was still very warm, smelled delicious, and portion size great. I think our eyes were bigger than our stomachs because it was also lunch the next day. I'm happy to have found this restaurant and will be ordering from here again. read more

But just like any other joint here in DFW, it's a bit pricy for the portions. She gave me the total and I agreed and provided my card info. After getting home I realized they charged my card $1.50 more than the total she gave me when I look on the receipt they added a tip to my total which I never agreed to pay. Yum is under new ownership and they are very rude and unwilling to help customers. We had a problem with our last order and they were rude and unwilling to help as promised before. We will never go back there again. We have lived close by for 15 years. We have been frequenting Yum since they first opened in Frisco. I am beyond disappointed and will never give to hem our business again. We support local restaurants but this Yum is No longer for us. Who needs the abuse from a restaurant. Particularly during a pandemic. Looks like a future failure in that Tom Thumb center. Take your business to a local place that appreciates your faithful business. This is a great small place where the food tastes great and the service is even better. We have had take out and ate in and were pleased both times. I highly recommend the chicken or beef and broccoli. I love the steamed rice. The only thing that I wish is that there could be more sauce. The sauce is amazing and I love it. Too bad they didn't dish out young corn and bamboo shoots...but it was great. Enough sweetness, coconut milk and spice. Didn't specify level of heat, but what I got was spicy enough. 5/5 Sweet and sour chicken with french fries (kid's meal). Wow for $5.95 the portion was big...taste? Mediocre, very Americanized. Sauce looks too red, they used too much Red 40 coloring. 3/5 Wonton soup - 6 small-sized wonton happily swimming in a big bowl of broth. $3.95? so cheap. Taste? No, thank you. Broth was too salty and I felt the meat carried a tad of smell. 3/5 Chicken corn soup $4.95. Look at the portion! So big. Again, chicken chunks were very tender. I am starting to think any chicken chunks you order here will be very tender. Corn? I got to think they use canned corn. The disappointing thing was the amount of salt they put in the soup. I poured ice chunks to tame the heat and dilute the salt. 3/5 Service 5/5 - excellent service. Free pineapple chunks at the end - 5/5 So all in all, Food 3/5, Service 5/5, Value 5/5. Yum Asian Bistro serves mediocre, by-the-book American Chinese Restaurant food. This isn't anything you haven't already seen from a million other restaurants across the country. I've ordered it a couple times now because the reviews here are so glowing, but each time I've regretted it. Each time I would have rather simply eaten at a Panda Express or Pei Wei. I hate to come down hard on a small business, but the mega chains have this place thoroughly beat. read more
