Excellent Chinese/Thai food! Our first Asian food order in PCR after moving here from Orlando. Thoroughly impressed. We ordered the following in take out: - Pad Thai - Orange Chicken - Sesame Chicken - Mongolian Beef The food was piping hot when the order said it would be ready. The chicken dishes were delicious. They use white meat and it was tender and not greasy. The pad Thai was also good. We will increase the spice level next time. The Mongolian beef was our least favorite. Just could've been more meat and less onions. So. Many. White. Onions. We will be ordering again for sure!

The endless search for great Chinese takeout will continue after this sad experience. I will never understand some of the high scores for places like this that simply ignore details or have head scratching abnormal execution. Hot and sour soup has a cough syrup like essence that made it inedible. The Mongolian Beef was gnarly and soft somehow at the same time and served with orange, yes orange lo mein?!? I swear I thought they were carrots (might have made them better). To top it off the huge pieces of soggy General Tsos Chicken were glazed with an overly sweet and underwhelmingly bland sauce with no fried rice that I order in sight. The search will continue...

This is an updated review of YAB which is clearly our favorite restaurant in Frisco. Certainly ranks with the best Asian food we've found. Wife is a huge fan of the Cashew Chicken with brown sauce. She clearly loves the brown sauce. This time around it was the Steamed Veggies with chicken and the brown sauce. We always do these with fried rice. She loved the dish and the appetizers. My favorites are the Crab Cheese Wontons and the Mango Chicken or Shrimp. Chicken this time around. The backup dish is the Kung Pao Three Flavor. Service inside can be very good to just ok but we deal with it given the great food. Ambiance is nothing special but it's acceptable and clean each time we've been there. Wishing them great success

Update: March 4, 2020 Had our Family dinner earlier. We ordered mixed chicken and shrimp on teriyaki sauce, tofu with sesame seed in brown sauce and prawns with walnut on white creamy sauce. They were cooked right and they're delicious. =========================== Just got here for lunch. Our first time here. This place is quiet and not busy at 2 pm. Pleasant and well lighted area near Tom Tumb supermarket off FM 423, Frisco TX. I ordered General Tao's chicken. Presentation is like szechuanese Gen Tso's chicken, but their version has brownish spicy sauce with bell peppers and broccoli. The chicken meat are like chicken nuggets ball shaped breaded and fried. It's delicious. My wife ordered chicken broccoli in white sauce. The sliced Chicken blended well with sautéed veggies and broccoli. Taste great. Serving portions are above average. They have lunch specials, pri $ingle (12 to 3 pm) with your choice of egg drop or hot and sour soup. Also, your choice of steamed white or brown rice. They also have a shop in Little Elm, TX. Update as of July 10, 2019 I ordered chicken with cashew nuts, lunch special. Their rice serving is now a small scoop of brown rice not like be. Their hot tea cost $3 per person. Kinda pricey.

I've eaten here many times and the I'm always surprised by how good the food is! The only constructive criticism is the preparation of the dish. Today had the usual Lettuce Wrap and they were superb! I ordered the Chicken Hunan, no rice extra Broccoli...light white sauce. It was very, very good as well...but as I mentioned above it's typically a surprise because the dish, while always delicious isn't consistent in how it's prepared. Some may find this to bothersome but I tend to wait in pure excitement as to hits going to be today. In true fashion super tasty and prepared to perfection. Service is quick and I like that it's very nondescript!

Ask the Community - Yum Asian Bistro

I can't believe they are closed, does anyone know where they moved to? The place is empty and completely closed down.

    They are closed on Tuesdays.

I was going to leave a good review of Yum Asian Bistro, and on their Yelp site it says Yum is closed till April 30. It's not. I just ordered to go last night 4-2-20. These restaurants need every break they can get. Can their site be updated to show?

    They open every day

The soup dumplings ended up having a sweet taste in the soup. The hot and sour soup was not sour at all, and I ended up, doctoring it a bit by asking for some vinegar. I would highly recommend against people ordering this if they're expecting the authentic Asian flavor profile. The beef noodle soup ordered medium spicy was not spicy at all and so next time if I ever go back, I'll have to get their extra spicy. And their tofu noodle soup did not have nearly as much tofu as the picture seemed to make us believe. The one thing I did really like was the wontons in the wonton soup so if I come back, I'll probably just be ordering that. Overall, I think I was expecting a classic Taiwanese flavor profile and was left wanting more.

We arrived right as the kitchen was about to close, but they still graciously seated us and provided amazing, welcoming service. The restaurant was also incredibly clean. There is a QR code for the menu you scan with your phone. The food was fantastic across the board. The congee was pure comfort food, and the sesame balls were some of the absolute best I've ever had. They were served nice and warm, the filling wasn't overly sweet, and they weren't greasy at all like a lot of other places. I really liked how the soup dumplings all had individual foil wrappers - made it easy and mess free. Highly recommend!

The beef was so flavorful, and we loved it. So this time, we ordered it again. This time, we also tried the pork noodle soup. The pork was flavorful as well. It was pork belly, so the fat made the meat even more tender and savory. Both dishes were delicious! But of the two, we still liked the beef option better. The ordering process was completely digital. We scanned the menu code with our phones and then selected our dishes ourselves. There was very little "human" touch. I still prefer having a server come take our order, which also makes the tipping decision easier. Anyway, we enjoyed the food and will probably come back again.

This place is absolutely made for a group outing, and we're already planning to come back with a group to take full advantage. The food was a delight. The Singapore noodles had this wonderful curry flavor that I absolutely loved, and the combo fried rice was just as satisfying. We also ordered the Peking duck (P1 on the menu). It was good, though not quite as flavorful on its own as we'd hoped. That said, once you load it up with the hoisin, cucumber, and spring onions, it all comes together beautifully. The bao buns that came with it were soft and delicious, honestly a highlight. We also sipped on hot jasmine tea throughout, which was the perfect, refreshing complement to the whole meal. The ambiance is okay and unfortunately the restrooms were poorly maintained and smelled bad. Overall the food was just average. The fried pork was not seasoned well, and didn't taste great despite being fried and obviously unhealthy. The black bean noodles were okay and very unidimensional. The noodles did have a good texture and chew. The spicy seafood noodles was also lacking depth of flavor, and it was very underwhelming. My diagnosis: average food with good service.

The servers were kind and hustling nonstop. That said, it looked like they were a bit understaffed for a Saturday lunch rush -- only two employees were handling seating, orders, drinks, and checkout for the whole restaurant. Still, they did their best, and it showed. I tipped generously - well deserved. Ambiance: Clean, nicely decorated, and a fair size space. My party of five was seated quickly with no issues. Food: Unfortunately, this is where things fell flat. The jja jang myun noodles texture and chew were great, but the sauce was underwhelming and lacked depth. The jjampong portion was huge (great value!), but it too was on the bland side -- missing that rich, spicy seafood flavor I was hoping for. The sweet and sour fried pork was just okay, nothing memorable. Overall, Dong Bo Sung is fine if you're nearby and craving this type of cuisine -- you'll definitely leave full -- but for me, it didn't quite hit the mark. I'm a bit spoiled by Paik's Noodle, so this one lands at a solid 3 out of 5.
