By the time I'd arrived at the Bath train station, hauled my luggage to my hotel, and checked in, I was starving. Yum Yum Thai was one of the closest restaurants to my hotel and it proved satisfying enough that I considered - but didn't partake in - a return visit on another day. To even consider a second meal at a place while traveling is something noteworthy. During lunch hours (noon-3PM), Yum Yum offers 5 specials, each including rice, well-priced at £11.95. I opted for the Pat Pak Nam Mun Hoi which translates into stir-fried vegetables in oyster sauce. Specifying "very spicy", this dish satisfied. No complaints were lodged, either, about the spring rolls (£ 6.80) or the Shrimp Pad Thai (£14.95). It was cold outside so we stopped here for some soup. An adorable restaurant with some really good Thai food. Tom Yum Kung soup was delicious. A spicy prawn soup with mushrooms and hints of lemongrass. Pat Kra Praw Kai was a nice spicy Thai Basil with chicken and string beans. We were very happy to see a Lunch menu since we were jet-lagged and didn't want to eat a big meal. I love Thai food and have eaten it all over the world. The green curry was good. They messed up and added shrimp instead of pork but it tasted good so I went with it! The vegetable stir fry was good. But the sweet sour chicken was horrible tasted like ketchup! When we asked them to fix the sauce they told us it would cost extra! They messed up and we gave them an opportunity to fix it but they weren't gracious about it! We will not return! read more

The Kong Doung Koi (sp?!) is tremendous. Almost too much chicken and be sure to have the tray of spices (called 5 Friends where I normally eat) brought table side. Fair price for great service. Go early for diner as it fills up quickly (5:30 at the latest). read more

This was our second visit. We first visited 5 years ago. It was outstanding the first time and it didn't disappoint this time either! I had the pad Thai with shrimp and my husband had the pork skewers with papaya salad-both dishes were delicious! We'll be back in Bath in July and, rest assured, we'll be back to Yum Yum! Yum Yum does an exceptional job at accommodating dietary needs - if you have any questions or concerns about whether something is vegetarian or vegan, just ask. Seriously! I was never made to feel bad about inquiring on specific menu items. Also, how cool is it that they've won Compassion In World Farming awards? It's fresh, many ingredients are locally sourced and organic, and the food is MSG-free. Yum indeed! Super easy and fast if you're getting takeaway, and if you're eating in just know that they can get pretty busy. We ended up here multiple times while staying in Bath because my mom has a pretty specific diet and everything we ate here was good on her body. We tried: . Pat Thai Kung (rice noodles with tofu [instead of prawns], bean sprouts, spring onions, veggies, crushed peanuts, and red pepper flakes - was pretty much exactly what we were expecting, though less saucy) . Ba Me Pud (egg noodles with tofu and veggies - felt/tasted like the American Chinese dish lo mein) . Tod Mun Kao Pord (fried corn cakes - crispier than we were expecting) . Pao Pia (fried mini spring rolls with sweet chili dip - they're like an inch and a half long, yet STUFFED with veggies and delicious... definitely get one order per person! maybe even two!) It's important to note that on the menu it very clearly says that they reserve the right to change any ingredient without prior notice due to season and availability. This is possibly one of the worst names for a restaurant, but it's fairly accurate when it comes to this restaurant in Bath - it is yummy, and it is Thai food. The dishes they serve are fairly expensive for what they are - quite ordinary Thai cooking - but I've never eaten anything here that I didn't enjoy and have been back several times. The service is always fast and friendly and even though the restaurant itself may not be special, but it's a good all rounder. My husband and I has a fantastic dinner. Here while visiting Bath. We were slightly disappointed that we were unable to get a reservation at one of the "fancier" restaurants near the river, but the food here was great! I was starving and the vegetarian pad Thai and chicken red curry were more then enough to fill up my hubby and I. Service was prompt and pleasant. Quite possibly the greatest Thai restaurant I've ever been to, and not just in Bath. (For the record, I've never been to Thailand, so I wouldn't know about the real thing). The staff are so stupidly friendly that you feel like you've been a right moody bastard all your life and promise yourself to do better from now on. And it doesn't take long for their charm to rub off on you. The smells of the dishes gets your stomach rumbling in anticipation. Service is pretty quick, though, so you don't have to wait too long to get stuck in. One word of advice - the hot stuff is extremely so, so avoid this if you have a sensitive belly. Nice place to go out for dinner. Lots of bars nearby. Me and my wife had dishes with duck and there was lots to like: taste, size, delivery speed and especially the duck was great. Not dry at all as in other restaurants. For pricing I can just say that it is not the cheapest place but for 10 bucks plus a drink you get a decent meal. read more

Bad. Ordered the duck and found a long hair in it. I told the manager who simply didn't care and seemed to insinuate that I put the hair in there myself to get money off the bill. He was very confrontational and upset my wife. Drinks orders were wrong, food was average. This is a great little Thai restaurant especially for a lunchtime deal. They do a special menu £5.95 for a dish which comes with rice good portions and good choice of dishes: sweet & sour, oyster sauce, green curry etc. Good, relaxed atmosphere and clean and tidy place gets busy but you can always get a table. Unfortunately I haven't tried it in the evenings yet but I imagine it would only get better. The side dises are also amazing prawns in pastry with sweet chilli sauce and deep fried vegetables.not one for the diet conscious!!! Good location in the centre of town. read more

This place was fairly expensive but for Bath prices it was actually fairly cheap considering that rice comes included with the price of the curries etc and the portions are very generous!
